A great place for the end of the day!

A terrible experience, it had everything to be very special but we were served by a rascally SERBIAN waiter who wanted to induce us in every possible way to eat and drink only what was convenient for him and when he saw that we wouldn't 100% fall in with him, He simply started treating us with disregard and in the end he even tried to make us feel ashamed, blocking us from leaving along with the manager, saying that our card hadn't been used, it's a shame a house as beautiful as this one allows a professional like this. 15 days of vacation in Europe this is the ONLY PLACE I DON'T RECOMMEND AND WON'T RETURN

I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! The food is super delicious and the service is simply fantastic!! Jovo in particular is a very, very likeable waiter and does his job more than well!

A true royal experience. Kings cave has a great atmosphere and service! The food quality is top tier! If you’re visiting Zurich this is a must go to dinner location.

The slightly longer service time was more than made up for by friendliness and good food.

The entrecôte is very good, even though I ordered it medium rare and it came rather rare (bleu). We were looking for a restaurant where we could have discussions as undisturbed as possible and we found it: very quiet with a good atmosphere. The service was very friendly, even though we didn't order an aperitif, starter or wine. But we couldn't resist the dessert, which we didn't regret.

Friendly and courteous service. The meat was great. The food was also very good, from the salad to the Toblerone mousse. We'd love to come back!

We celebrated my mother's birthday and visited Kings Cave for the first time. The location is unique and the food tasted good overall. The side dishes (fries, spinach and ratatouille) were delicious. The cooking levels of the meat dishes were met. The food arrived to all guests at the same time. Some of the meat was too cold despite the hot plate. Fillet quality was ok. Service was attentive during the meal. I specified the occasion when making the online reservation and asked for a birthday surprise. Unfortunately there was no answer. I then asked again by phone before our visit. I was verbally confirmed that a dessert would be prepared for the birthday child. However, nothing came in the evening. This was very disappointing. Everyone ordered dessert, except of course the birthday child. The confrontation was unwanted. A pity. We will consciously avoid the restaurant in the future.

It was a great evening, nice staff, but unfortunately the kitchen didn't meet the cooking level. Hopefully it will work next time.

We celebrated our anniversary. When we greeted us, they said that our table was unfortunately not ready and that they wanted to decorate it. We were allowed to wait at the bar and then given a table with royal decorations and chairs. We ordered the tomahawk steak medium. The service staff said it would take about 25 minutes. After almost an hour the meat was served. A little too bloody for medium, but tasted great. It was also nice that the service staff was attentive to our anniversary.

Excellent food and top service, but unfortunately I have to say, My husband made a reservation online and wrote in a comment: It's my birthday today and it would be desirable to leave her a little birthday greeting, unfortunately that was overlooked and so not transmitted. Still, it was a great evening

Side dishes were not good at all ! Even the plates they use are not meant for a restaurant

Unfortunately, my visit to the restaurant was anything but satisfactory. We made a reservation and at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday the restaurant was completely empty except for two guests present. We were seated at this exact table, next to this couple. After politely asking to be moved, we were treated rudely and told we hadn't made a reservation. On the reservation list, which only had four reservations on it, I had to show the waiter where my name was because he couldn't find it on his own. The waiter named Mohamed behaved unfriendly. Such behavior is not part of the standards of a good restaurant. Due to this disappointing experience we decided to leave the restaurant. Hopefully management will take this criticism as an opportunity to make improvements and ensure future guests have a more pleasant experience.

As always, GREAT food and friendly service! I just don't think the Sugus at the end is particularly appropriate. But I still like to come back again and again 😉

Very nice place. Classy and casual in one. Good atmosphere, great staff, very attentive, friendly and with humor. However, it was a bit noisy due to the building structure. Still highly recommended.

The herb butter gratinated entrecôte with the hot, delicious Züri fries in combination with the very friendly service is a hit. Afterwards, a nightcap in the lively Piano Bar: great!!️💯🫶

The risotto was very bad! Rice wasn't cooked properly. In terms of taste and preparation, it's simply not worth the money. The meat did not live up to expectations at all. The service seemed very stressed and hardly took any time to take the order. In this price range you would expect adequate service. You can use paper towels as table linen in a station restaurant, but not there. There is a lack of quality to visit again!

Super nice and warm place. Today, Friday, there was a singer playing the piano with very good music.

Wow wow wow. İ dont know what it is but The white Buttersauce they put on top of the Steak is just Not From this World. İts soooo Delicious. İf You Ever Visit Zürich please go There and Try the Grill specialities !!! You deserve more Than just 5 Stars .

Great ambience, the food was very good, the quality could be a bit better.

We have been eating here for more than 40 years. On Saturday, December 17th, 2022 we were disappointed with the meat and service. We had the table to the left of the Central entrance down the stairs. Initially we were warmly greeted in the still almost empty restaurant, especially by the waiter. Then we had to wait quite a long time for the meat. We only got it with others who came a little later. Unfortunately, both pieces of meat were partly "gainy", something we've never had before. After the meal, the waiter in the now almost full restaurant was completely overwhelmed. He never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. A pity

Everything in Switzerland is overpriced

We visited the restaurant while staying at the hotel. We ordered a tomahawk steak as medium and received a very rare steak on a metal plate with a candle under it. We complained that this is not medium and the waiter proceeded to tell us that it is medium and started using a lighter under the steak to cook it so he stood there for 5 minutes just trying to "cook" it then proceeded to drench the beautiful tomahawk in olive oil. Ruined the entire dish. Never coming back to this restaurant again. Only reason I gave 2 stars (instead of 0) is because the hotel was amazing. (NOT THE RESTAURANT)

Small but nice card. Excellent entrecote in various portion sizes with good, fresh sauces. The best french fries in town. Noble, expensive wines. Efficient, friendly and fun service.

They charge 7 francs for TAP water. They do not warn you in advance of this but tell you it’s not refundable at the end. Total scam. Avoid at all cost.

My absolute favorite restaurant. I've been eating here for years. The best entrecote in Zurich. The herb butter is just as heavenly. I can only recommend the restaurant with its beautiful atmosphere to everyone.

Good, friendly service. The food was good, but the meat was tough. At this price you should be able to serve better quality Swiss meat. The piano bar has terrible service. During 20 minutes the waiter said three times that he would be back immediately. Then we left without consuming!

Valentine's Day dinner. Really good. The menu also creative. Attentive waiters and not a long wait. Of course it wasn't exactly cheap, but it was absolutely right for me.

Because of many recommendations, I went to the Kings Cave restaurant. Before dinner we had an aperitif in the hotel bar, which was accompanied musically by a piano player. The restaurant then goes down one floor. Beautifully furnished “royally”. The service accompanies us to our table. We look at the clear menu and you will find something for every taste. When it came to wine, we opted for a magnum bottle, shortly afterwards the service employee came back and told us that unfortunately there were only 7dl bottles left. It can be easy... then we decided on the monthly wine and took a magnum bottle. This bottle was then brought and he wanted to open it straight away and I was able to stop him because the menu said 2017 and he brought a 2018. He then looked again and couldn't find a 2017 and said the 2018 was better anyway and there was nothing they could do about the price (in response to my question)... At this point, simply write down “Ask for vintage” or something like that on the card. For starters we had salmon and beef tartare and for main course the fillet with Zurich fries. The salmon was ok, but a bit bland and it still had bones or something similarly hard on it. I think with 3 slices of salmon it should be possible to cut/serve them perfectly. I told customer service and they said they would forward it on. Unfortunately I never got a response/answer to it. We always had to pour the wine ourselves after the first glass. The meat and the Zurich fries were very fine, unfortunately there was no refill. For dessert we had Toblerone mousse and Sorbet Colonel. Both were also very nice. All in all it was good and I will definitely go again. PS: please check the toilets more, because it didn't really look good there.

Everything was very delicious, although I don't think the starters were worth it... since we ordered a nüsli salat and it was 4 leaves of salad... there was almost no egg and bacon... not much either...

I had dinner there with my wife on Saturday evening. The decorations are great and the chivalrous atmosphere comes across well. The food was good (steak house level) and the staff was very friendly. The only 2 comments from my side are: - In my opinion, the prices are far too high (you can get the same thing in a steak house for less money) - It's too tight. (Sometimes it is so narrow that you can hear everything from your neighbor because he is so close. In my opinion, too many tables.) That's why 3 out of 5 stars from me

Very nice medieval furnishings. If you like meat, this is the place for you. The meat is very tenderly prepared and the herb butter sauce - which comes with it in abundance - is to die for :-) The staff is very friendly and attentive. The bar at the top of the Hotel Central is also very cozy and pretty.

Very central. Fully booked on a Wednesday. The food was flawless. Pretty small tables (had two). Otherwise tip top. ALSO good: Have a drink upstairs at the bar before or after.

What I loved about this place is the vibe, of course the food and the service was perfect but the vibe is friendly even if you are in a pricey restaurant of a pricey hotel in the center of Zürich. You should definitely put it in your list!

Our waiter Jovo was fantastic and gave some brilliant recommendations for both different wines and food. Pictures don’t do it justice, but the prawns, venison and beef were all incredible - melt in the mouth!

Super Essen. Das Entrecote ist top. Sonstige Speisen ebenso.Einzig die Bedienung kann das Qualitätsniveau nicht ganz halten, obwohl sehr freundlich. Aber von zwei Beilagen 2x das falsche gebracht. Daher 1 Punkt Abzug.

Schwer zu sagen, was mir am besten gefallen hat. Das Fleisch (Entrecote 300g) mit Kräuterbutter war ausgezeichnet. Zudem gab es Pommes à Discretion und die Weinempfehlung war ebenfalls sehr gut. Jovo, unser Kellner, war ebenfalls 1. Klasse! Vielen Dank und wir kommen gerne wieder.
