Cabane Mont-Fort in Bagnes

I've been to the Cabane Mont Fort a lot over the last few years. The self-service food was really nice and appealing. Last week (March 2024) we were again full of anticipation in the Cabane Mont Fort. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for the worse. The service and friendliness were very disappointing, the food was completely overpriced. The view and location of the beautiful cabane continue to be beautiful. But I can no longer recommend a visit to the Cabane Mont Fort. A pity.

Amazing view on Mont Blanc chain, sunset, etc. Sky full of stars at night. Delicious food, with bread and pastries cooked on site. Very comfortable rooms and beds with hot shower… Best cabane/refuge in the Alps? Congrats to the team !!!

New concept, away from the rustic hut and towards a restaurant with service. No free choice of seats. Expensive

Came for lunch for the first time last week. After a decent wait to get a table, the service was quick despite the crowds. Waiters and waitresses at the top and smiling. The fondue is excellent as are all the dishes served (pâté croute, penne, waffle, pancakes, blueberry tart). I recommend the hot chocolate which alone is worth the effort of the climb on foot. Not to mention the magnificent view. Congratulations to the baker and the whole team, we will come back with pleasure.

We had a great time with friends. There were 8 of us, then 9, finally 11... we were able to appreciate the flexibility of the team in dealing with our group of varying numbers, despite the rush hour. We tasted various delicious homemade dishes & “short circuit” drinks. We will come back with pleasure!

The best restaurant in the whole of Verbier/ 4 Vallées. All the dishes are excellent and big portions. Staff is formidable and very very friendly. If you're nice to them, you're nearly assured of a home-brewed génépi on the house! The fondue is absolutely incredible, as is the croute!! Good wine and homemade pastries and desserts.

Well, honestly, we ate well, nothing to say about the cuisine. The view remains incredible and the renovation of the places is quality. For the reception, nothing more to do with the old cabin of course. The servers are young, friendly, sometimes bordering on familiar. A big downside: desperately long service… Usual prices in VERBIER 💸

Used to be my favorite place in VErbier, I would recommend this place to everyone. Management has changed: prices are much higher, service is worse and slower (even when there is nobody in the queue at 11:40), food selection is definitely worse. While you wait in the queue to order, all the waiters are chit chatting at the restaurant. Cannot eat food without a reserved table, except for a few sandwich or sweet options. Really sad times.

What a catastrophe! The service is completely non-existent, the waiting time to order a sandwich and a fries exceeds 40 minutes! 20 minutes more for "preparation" and we discover grated supermarket cheese in the sandwich. the carafe of water (unfiltered) costs more than coke, go figure. A former customer for years, we can only regret the poor quality of the dishes, the slowness and the new increased prices. to avoid!

The food is excellent! Quality service with incredible staff. Fast service despite the high number of customers. I can only recommend this fantastic place with food that is only preceded by the panorama!

I had some fears about the atmosphere and the quality of what awaited us at the cabin when reading the recent reviews... Quite the opposite! We were made very welcome, the meal was excellent and the homemade bread was delicious. As the ski lifts were closed at the summit due to a storm, the manager towed us by snowmobile from the jumbo departure station, great!!!!

Since the change in management, a clear drop in quality. Uninteresting menu with mediocre quality (salad sachet) and increased price - 8 CHF per carafe of water. Too bad, it was one of my favorites on the slopes of Verbier.

Best raspberry tart ever!! One of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The other food was also delicious and the view is amazing and with direct sunshine. Definitely recommend, one of the best restaurants in the area.

With the new tenants the charm is gone. You try to be aloof. That cannot succeed here. Many regular guests are disappointed. What Dani had built up here over many years was destroyed in a very short time. It was nice to stand in line, be greeted by Dani (he probably knew all of his regulars) then get the food and everything was good. Now it's no longer likeable, the aura is gone, the magic is gone. Very unfortunate. It's no longer worth waiting for a table. Folks, this isn't St. Moritz or Zermatt. This is still Verbier. A place for sport and simplicity with cool people, it's a shame ;-)

We stayed overnight at the cabin, communication for booking was a bit tricky, but we loved our stay. The staff was super welcoming and friendly and we got freshly baked croissants in the morning! It is a typical hut and amenities are as such, but clean.

This used to be my absolute favourite lunch spot in Verbier, but now that management changed (since the beginning of this ski season), I will never come back. What used to be a place with extremely efficient but friendly service and a reliable and delicious menu, has turned into a nightmare: extremely slow service, bad food, and arrogant staff. The place has now been split into two different sections: one restaurant part where you get served by the table, and one “snack bar” with a limited menu. I stood in the snack bar line for a whopping 41 minutes (!) I don’t even understand how it could take that long given that this is the line only to order and pay - not to actually receive the food. Yes, the line used to be just as long with the old management - but it would take 10 minutes until it was your turn. You would think that splitting up the customers into two sections would make the line to the snack bar faster but no, instead it is 4 times slower (!) Amazed at how it is even possible. While the old management would let you order everything from their delicious menu from that bar window, this new set-up means that after 41 minutes of waiting, there are limited options such as sandwiches, fries and deserts. When it was my turn to order, I was told that half of the items from this limited menu were sold out. I then waited another 23 minutes for the food to be ready for pick up: a portion of fries, a cold sandwich, a crepe. The crepe was uneatable (it was now cooked through!) and the sandwich was filled with low quality ingredients. So all in all, It took me over an hour to get a lousy meal and it's an hour I could've used for skiing, frankly. I am reading a lot of google reviewer complaining about their experience since the new management, and I must say that I am appalled by the responses from the management, which only proves the reviewers right - you are arrogant! To the management: when customers have complaints - listen, take in the feedback and do something about it. Don't get defensive, make excuses, insist that your staff never makes mistakes, and ridicule your customers. Customer is king, but clearly you don't get that. For that reason, I will never set foot in your place again. Everyone I know who has visited you say the same thing. I have even overheard strangers in the ski lifts being really upset about your service and food. I am so sad that what used to be a gem and the best lunch spot in the Verbier slopes, have now turned into a tourist trap. For anyone new to Cabane Mont Fort: Note that any review before autumn 2023 is irrelevant since the menu and staff completely changed since then. I would strongly recommend to go elsewhere.

What a pleasure to stop at the Montfort cabin to have a comforting breakfast, the pastries are top notch!! I am still in Verbier for a few days and will come back to eat and enjoy a magical place. I highly recommend !

I’m a Verbier local. This used to be my favorite hut on the mountain, always bringing friends, and family here. With the new ownership, unfortunately the charm of Cabane Mont Fort has been completely lost. The staff used to be kind, warm and hospitable here, now they almost look offended if you ask something, and most likely they just won’t answer. The menu used to be one of the best, full of hearty, home-made meals, now it’s just like every other restaurant. It used the be a place where people ski toured up, and still had a good time after lifts closed. Today, people are chased away from 3pm onwards. I understand it’s new rules, but what is the excuse for having us stand in the queue at the snack bar line from 3:05 until 3:35pm, while having been told there is limited choice of menu only (sausage, fries, soup and sandwich)… then by the time we make it there, we’re told the kitchen was closed at 3pm and there is only a few cold sandwiches to pick. As much as the views are awesome, and the hut is cute, I’ll not visit this place again. Sad the old owners left, what a difference people make!

Il est IN-DIS-PEN-SA-BLE de s'arrêter là-haut!! La vue est à couper le souffle et l'assiette confirme le cadre qui est superbe! Nous avons mangé des Röstis et ils étaient non seulement originaux (aux bolets, à la saucisse... et nous étions sensé avoir également celui aux lard et à la tomme mais ils se sont trompés en cuisine et nous avons goûté les bolognèses à la place)... c'était fabuleusement bon! Par contre, si vous choisissez de manger en terrasse (nous n'avions pas le choix, nous étions sur place durant la pandémie et nous avons dû manger les fesses dans la neige... mais avec une vue imprenable!) sachez qu'il fait trèèèèèèès froid!!! Nous n'avons pas quitté nos gants tellement nous étions gelés! Et oui, le resto est à 2457 mètres d'altitude en plein vent!Mais ça vaut tellement le coup... allez-y, vous ne serez pas déçu!

Petite promenade des Ruinettes à la cabane Montfort pour le repas de midi. Il fait bon sur la terrasse. Un roesti complet, une crêpe au fromage/jambon. Le tout excellent et servi bien chaud. Et avec le sourire. On sent la passion et l'enthousiasme du patron Daniel, un vrai montagnard.On y retournera ... cette semaine, pour remettre le couvert, si la météo le permet

Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Nachtessen war sehr gut. Leider hatte man keine Bettdecken, keine Wolldecken und im WC fehlte Seife und Papierhandtücher. Zum Glück war es nicht um 0 Grad, denn mit meinem Seidenschlafsack war es kalt. Uebrigens im Essbereich stand Desinfektionsmittel bereit.

Die Cabana hat eine wunderbare Lage hoch in den Bergen. Man kann drinnen oder auf der Terrasse essen, je nach Wetterlage. Sandwiches, Suppen, Fondue, Pasta usw. Gute Brownies und Obstkuchen.

Cabane Mont Fort ist ein großartiger Ort, um Skifahren von Gentianes zu besuchen. Hervorragend geeignet für eine Croute nach einem Skitag auf einem Monring, um die Aussicht zu genießen. Die Suppen werden Sie auch aufwärmen. Verpassen Sie nicht die wilden Heidelbeertörtchen. Sie sind ein Traum.

Atemberaubender einzigartiger Ort zum Mittagessen! Sie können diesen Ort nicht für einen kurzen Zwischenstopp für heiße Getränke und hausgemachte Kuchen und Kekse (Brownies sind himmlisch) übertreffen. Das Essen ist wirklich ausgezeichnet und die Auswahl an lokalen Spezialitäten ist köstlich. Sehr freundlicher und schneller Service

Wir waren angenehm überrascht von der Qualität des Essens in dieser spektakulären Lage. Als wir ankamen, sahen wir köstliche Mittagessen auf dem Deck serviert. Die Halbpension beinhaltete einen Haufen Spaghetti mit Bolognese-Sauce. Unser privates Zimmer war komfortabel, aber wir mussten aufpassen, dass wir nicht mit dem Kopf gegen das Abblendlicht stießen. Die Duschen waren schön, als wir die Haute Route wanderten.

La cabane était la destination d'une randonnée d'une journée. Une approche facile mais cependant, j'étais content de voir le chalet se profiler en fin de journée. Les équipements sont adaptés au rôle d'étape pour marcheurs mais par contre, le service était... basique, voire rugueux. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à de la fine cuisine régionale... Un spaghetti bolo plutôt moyen avec une salade inondée de vinaigrette industrielle. Une salade de fruits en boîte comme dessert. Au petit déjeuner, du pain (excellent) et des confitures ... industrielles comme le reste. Fromage et autres compléments salés sont facturés en supplément. Le préposé a aussi omis de nous dire que le ticket de caisse donnait droit à des remontées gratuites. D'ailleurs il ne faut pas attendre d'indications de sa part...ni en français ni dans une autre langue puisque, apparemment, c'était un unilingue parfait. Côté couchage, on ne change pas les draps pour chaque client : prévoir un sac de couchage si on est un peu regardant sur l'hygiène. Les douches sont payantes et il y a 1 WC au rez de chaussée pour tout le monde... Il est clair que, à cet endroit, on ne cherche pas le grand luxe mais, là, quand même, il y a matière à amélioration...

Ce restaurant perché dans la montagne sous le Mont Fort offre depuis sa grande terrasse un panorama de toute beauté. Y aller donc essentiellement pour ça et donc par beau temps. Le service est expéditif et la cuisine correcte sans plus , les prix sont élevés et le règlement est préféré en espèces !!! Ils feignent de ne pas avoir de possibilités de règlement en carte mais lorsqu’il n’y a pas d’autre solution ils sortent la machine à CB !

Ich würde sagen, einziges Manko dieses Bergrestaurants ist, und das im Winter, dass man mit Kleinkindern fast nicht an dieses Restaurant gelangt, da man zuerst mit der Gondel bis nach Col du Gentianes fährt, das ist top...und dann runterfahren (Ski) muss Richtung Restaurant, dies aber anfänglich sehr sehr steil zum runterfahren ist. Essen top, Bedienungssystem über Mittag leicht hektisch, aber optimal, Walliserteller zu empfehlen, Weinauswahl auch top auf dieser Höhe, Törtchen mit Beeren ein richtiger Genuss, sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen wieder

Dieser Ort ist einfach perfekt für die definitive Berg Mittagspause. Es ist sehr traditionell, mit einer tollen Speisekarte, exzellentem Service und einer großartigen Atmosphäre.Es ist schön drinnen an einem kalten und verschneiten Tag, aber fabelhaft draußen, wenn die Sonne scheint.So teuer wie man es erwarten würde, aber nicht übertrieben.

Meine Frau und ich hatten Anfang dieses Monats einen Skiurlaub in Verbier und das war unser einziges Mittagessen auf der Piste. Es ist nur von oben zugänglich und das ist Teil des Charmes. Das Wetter war freundlich, also saßen wir auf der Terrasse statt drinnen.Auf der Terrasse bestellen Sie am Fenster, bezahlen und geben Ihnen eine Nummer, die Sie anrufen, sobald Ihre Bestellung fertig ist. Wir bestellten Rosti mit Wurst und die Gulaschsuppe (du Jour) plus ein Bier für jeden von uns. Die Suppe kam mit einem grünen Salat, aber das alles waren 50 Schweizer Franken, wow! (Wir fanden die ganze Schweiz zu teuer, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte).Die Aussicht war unglaublich, das Essen war köstlich, und wenn man hoch auf den Pisten von Verbier / 4 Vallées essen möchte, dann ist dies ein toller Ort.

Reise mit der Familie in die Cabane was ist wirklich einfach zu erreichen mit der Seilbahn dann 1 Stunde max. zu Fuß mit Kindern.Sehr charmant Chalet mit vielen 4 oder 6 - Betten Zimmer. CHF 240 für 2 Kinder + 2 Erwachsene + Frühstück für 1 Nacht inkl Diner.Die Nachteile waren:- etwas laut. Die Toiletten + Dusche + Toilette waren geteilt, also Leute waren durch den Boden reden und zu Fuß lautstark.- die Betten sind sehr hart. Autsch! Rückenschmerzen.Die Vorteile:- sauber - keine Schuhe innen erlaubt. Sie haben einen leichten Schlaf haben (Krokodile) am Eingang für jedermann.- Mahlzeiten sind reichlich 3 Gänge Menü. Das Frühstück ist zwar einfach : Brot + bitter und Marmelade. Kaffee oder Tee. Kein Saft.- Mieter + Kellner waren alle sehr nett und freundlich.- mit Kreditkarten zahlen können.Sehr schöne Erfahrung mit Kindern, die dort gelebt haben.Die Aussicht ist wunderschön. Es lohnt sich.

Wir haben hier zu Mittag an einem schönen sonnigen Tag angehalten. War sehr beschäftigt und ziemlich voll, aber uns war das Warten - die Lage war bemerkenswert! . Der Service ist gut organisiert (kann nicht einfach sein, klar machen sie das beste aus dem begrenzten Raum). Das Essen war sehr gut, im Vergleich zu anderen Pisten Essen (und alles schmeckt 2 x so gut nach ein paar Stunden Skifahren sowieso); Preis: Standard für ein Restaurant in der Höhe in einem Schweizer Resort. Werde gerne wieder kommen!

Am besten auf der Piste Restaurant wir haben in dieser Woche. Rösti ausgezeichnet, Crepes auch gut. Sehr voll, man sollte also schon früh aufstehen (näher an 12 ) , sitzen für schnelle Bedienung und innen für Mountain Charakter

Es ist sehr, sehr authentisch, die Mahlzeiten sind gut vorbereitet und die Preise sind angemessen (für Skiurlaub) . sollten Sie verbessern die Zahlungsarten (nur Bargeld) und vielleicht ein wenig mehr Service. Der Blick und die Atmosphäre sind sehr, sehr gut! Schön Ski Stop!

On s'attendait à des prix beaucoup plus élevés compte tenu de l'emplacement( 2400 mètres d'altitude) et de la monnaie, mais non, les prix restent corrects. Boissons chaudes entre 3,5 et 7 Francs suisse et plats chauds autour de 25 Francs Suisse. La terrasse fait face à la vallée, plein Sud.Il faut commander, payer puis on vous appelle. Le top est de prendre une fondue en terrasse mais les croutes au fromage sont excellentes egalement, servies dans des poêlons en fonte.Le goût et le panorama sont au RDV. Pour le service, ça reste un restaurant d'altitude donc, il ne faut pas s'attendre à des "courbettes". Nous, on a été ravis de faire un break le midi au milieu de nul part. Un conseil, prenez de l élan pour atteindre le refuge car ça monte. Se situe en descendant du téléférique les gentianes.

Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne hierher. Die Hütte liegt oberhalb von La Chaux, 1h15 Wanderung von Les Ruinettes oder 2h30 von Le Carrefour. Es werden typische Walliser Gerichte serviert, dazu auch klassische Fleischgerichte. Die Preise sind zwar eher hoch, man muss aber auch bedenken, dass alles auf 2500 m.ü.M. hinaufgekarrt werden muss. Man bestellt an der Theke, kriegt die Getränke, die Speisen werden am Tisch serviert. Das Team ist sehr freundlich und aufgestellt, die Abläufe sehr speditiv.

Das Restaurant - das hat auch Unterkunft - ist hoch auf einem Crag auf der Route von Mont Fort. Die Lage ist einfach hervorragend, mit herrlicher Aussicht von der Terrasse, die ständig voll, als das Wetter es zulässt. Wenn sowohl innen und außen sind voll, der Service ist Cafe-Stil durch eine Durchreiche und das Personal versucht ein Sterling Arbeit mit der Nachfrage Schritt halten. Das Wetter in grimmer, es gibt weniger Leute und der Service ist freundlich und ausgezeichnet. Das Essen ist ebenfalls gut: selbst unter Druck die Pizzas und Salate waren hervorragend. Die Preise sind, verständlicherweise angesichts der Lage, astronomische, aber wir waren so beeindruckt, dass wir gerade zweimal in der Woche.

Cabane Mt Fort hat eines der am meisten atemberaubend Standorte möglich zu finden in den Schweizer Alpen. Wir haben schon häufig Besucher, sowohl im Winter als auch im Sommer Seasons, für mehr als zehn Jahren, und sie immer liefern. Wir hatten heute Die heiße Chicken Salat war hervorragend, wie auch die Makkaroni Montagnard. Das Personal ist freundlich und effizient. Wir empfehlen dieses Hotel jedem Verbier.

Dies ist meine bevorzugte Pit Stop als in Verbier Ski zu fahren. Die Aussicht ist unglaublich. Die Kekse sind köstliche - wir hatten sie heiß aus dem Ofen eines Tages - super lecker. Die Cookies und Crepes sind auch ausgezeichnet. Beim nächsten Mal werde ich versuchen, die Mittagessen und nicht nur die Puddings.

Ambiance montagne qui pourrait être sympa si le service l'était. On a mangé une tartiflette qui était très correcte puis une très bonne tarte aux pommes pour un prix "normal" à Verbier... Par contre le service est détestable ; ni bonjour ni au revoir, on comprend bien que ce n'est que notre porte feuille qui les intéresse.

Auf Ihrem Weg vom Col des Gentianes" halten Sie am Cabane Mont Fort.Daniel, der Besitzer, hat hier schon seit Jahrhunderten : -) und dies ist ein sehr geschätzt Stop in Ihre Ski Tag. Insude oder auf der Terrasse, je nach Wetter, sollte man nicht unbedingt das beste Fondue in Verbier verpassen!

Ett trevligt ställe, mitt i backen. Ganska bra mat och en fantastisk utsikt. Inte så billigt, men det är ju Verbier.

Bien entendu, ce n'est pas une cabane de haute montagne et l'approche est si facile que les sportifs ne se vantent pas d'y avoir passé. Mais c'est une magnifique promenade pour tous les autres, pour les enfants comme pour les plus âgée, voire plus âgés. On y mange très bien et le muser c'est évidemment une fondue après avoir parcouru à pieds le trajet ente les Ruinettes et la cabane Mont Fort. Je recommande cette expérience ainsi que la nuit dans les petits dortoirs/chambres rénovés; c'est une expérience sympa, un peu en retrait des grandes routes de haute altitude.

Auf unserer Sommer Reise ist es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, die Wanderung! von La Chaux oder aus Mont Fort. Viel besseres Essen als wir erwartet hatten, wenn man die Lage bedenkt. Eine Aussicht, für die man sterben möchte.

Wir waren ziemlich von diesem kleinen Ort beeindruckt, ein wenig auf der Seite Hang gelegen ist. Sehr aufmerksam Kellner, gutes Mountain Essen. lol. Wir kommen wieder.

Bij mooi weer ideale tussenstop of lunch. Prachtig zicht over het hele gebied, goed gelegen, lekkere eenvoudige lunchkeuken. Buiten enkel zelf bestellen en afhalen.

Superb panoramic views on the terrace, the food is a little more expensive than lower down the mountain and it's nice but portion sizes are quite small if you are really hungry.

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön wenn man unten Position sind von der Höhenlage Gegend von Mont Fort. Das Essen ist traditionell Schweizer und mit "Skifahrer-Teile". Zum Beispiel ist das Crôute du fromage et même jambon (ein Schweizer Version von Croque Monsieur) für 22 CHF wirklich gut. Die Nudelgerichte sind auch gut. Bitte beachten Sie, dass - wenn es April 2015 -ern sie akzeptieren nur Bargeld!

L'endroit est sympathique avec une vue magnifique mais il est malheureusement un peu débordé par son succès. C'est un self service où il faut faire la queue pour commander et l'attente peut être longue. C'est bien organisé mais aux heures d'affluence, il y a vraiment trop de monde et ça perd totalement de son charme, il y a une grande quantité de tables en terrasse qui donnent un côté un peu camping à l'endroit.Pour ma part, je préfère être à l'intérieur, la salle est toute petite mais elle a une ambiance de refuge qui lui donne du charme.Rapport qualité prix correct.

es gibt keinen besseren Platz für das Mittagessen irgendwo in den Alpen? Das Essen ist außergewöhnlich - traditionelle Walliser Gerichte, aber mit Flair. Umfassende Rostis. Ich will jetzt wieder zurück.

Die Aussicht ist fantastisch ... die Besitzer begüsst am Fenster ... Ich hatte ein Gulasch, und es war nicht die beste, die ich jemals hatte ... gut, aber nicht großartig. Mein Freund hatte ein kulinarischen Käse und es war sehr gut. Saubere Toiletten und schnellen Service.

Wir haben immer hier zum Mittagessen während wir in Verbier Ski fahren. Die Lage ist fantastisch, besonders wenn das Wetter warm genug ist, um draußen auf der Terrasse zu essen. Das Essen ist einfach, aber angemessen. Wir haben uns hauptsächlich essen Gulaschsuppe, was gut ist, oder Sandwiches. Obst Torten und Brownies ausgezeichnet. Es hat Charme in Hülle und Fülle. Keine Haute Cuisine aber einen Besuch wert.

This is definitely a restaurant that tests your commitment to get there. First of all you have to go up to col des gentianes and come down a short but rather steep red run before coming to a flatter section, whilst on this almost flat section before the restaurant (which is located in a cliff-like location) you have to try and build up as much speed as possible to go uphill without inadvertently missing it completely! All adds to the fun and the challenge of a lovely lunch!I went to this restaurant twice, once I had one of their stews which was hearty and the second time, I had the most amazing roast chicken with fries, there is also the option of having the chicken with a salad. It is bar counter service. Whilst I was very tempted I managed to resist the cookies and fruit tarts that looked amazing. On my next visit to Verbier perhaps!

Eines der schönsten atemberaubende Sicht Mountain Side Mittagessen Lagen. Dieses Hotel hat eine atemberaubende Aussicht in fast Richtung. Das Personal war freundlich und das Essen war so gut wie jeder Mountain Side PKW-Service zum Mittagessen können. Wir genossen die 1/2 Tandoori-Hühnchenspie ß und Pommes Frites - das Flair des Huhn war wunderbar, die Pommes Frites waren etwas verkocht aber ansonsten war der Aufenthalt sehr angenehm.

I have been coming to Verbier for a few decades now and I never grow tired of it. For me it's the perfect mountain resort blend between sporty intensity and fun socializing. La Cabane Mont Fort somehow sums it up rather well. It's high up, it has great southern exposure, it's cute as hell and people are friendly.Aldo, the food is as good as mountain refuge food gets (and around here the bar is set pretty high - I personally love the 'croute au fromage' (lush baked melting cheese over bread), or for something that won't make your skiing much faster by sheer weight, I recommend the 'saucisse de veau' (white veal bratwurst).Of course it's not the easiest place to get to and if you are looking for loud music and lots of booze you should probably aim for one of the more crowded spots that are easily found on Verbier's massive ski area. Cabane Mont Fort can only be reached skiing down from the Mont Fort - Gentiane pass on the way to La Chaux, and unless you stop making curves a few hundred yards before it, you will likely have to push up the last couple of hundred feet. Once you are there though, the view is spectacular, the atmosphere is relaxed, people are usually nice, international, on the sportier side of skiing, and as far as my experience has been like, they are usually friendly and fun without being bombastic.In essence, a great spot where to pause and have lunch in between runs!Oh, a lot of cross-country skiers pass by there on their way up the mountains (if I am not mistaken this is one of the possible overnight spots when traveling through 'La Haute Voie'), I haven't actually spent a night there but the sleeping arrangements look nice and tidy and comfortable.Hope you enjoy it!

Cette cabane, vaut surtout pour son environnement en bas du Mont Fort que pour la restauration. La vue est à couper le souffle. Pour la nourriture on repassera : très chère, et sans grand intérêt !

Das Hotel befindet sich auf einem Felsen in der Mitte des Ski System ist dies ein spektakulärer Ort. Das Essen ist so, aber man hierher kommen, um die Aussicht und den Menschen. Ein absolutes muss für das Mittagessen an einem sonnigen Tag.

Dies ist ein wahrer Genuss mit der Aussicht kein anderes Restaurant ist in der Nähe zu schlagen. Freundliches Personal geführt von ultra-freundlichen Eigentümer Daniel servieren einfaches, gutes Mittagessen Essen auf den natürlichen Terasse auf dem Berg. Dies ist das Restaurant, das ich in meinem Traum für Verbier als ich freue mich schon darauf, das nächste Mal.

C'est une magnifique cabane avec une magnifique vue dans un décor naturelle à couper la souffle. Avec une magnifique terrasse avec des tables en bois. Par contre quant à la restauration c'est très chère pour beaucoup d'attente et des plats en demis teintes.

Cable Mont Fort juts out on a cliff. Run by Daniel who co-owns Marlena which is run by his wife. Spectacular view and solid food which include the hearty meals as well as light salads. Great soup and our kids claim the best chocolate chip cookies in the alps!

I have been lucky enough to ski this area a number of times and stopping here is always on the agenda, whether that be for a coffee, beer or lunch. Head up in the Mont Fort gondola and either go up again to the very top if slightly crazy, skiing down the steep un- pisted mogul field that is a bundle of laughs if icy..NOT, or just nip down the fast red stopping half way at this place ( keep your speed up along the last bit or you will be walking up hill)Good hearty food, not over complicated and while there is normally a healthy queue for your order, once in, they propel the order out of the kitchen they yell your service number out when all is ready- but keep an ear open as they dont like repeating themselves and if you dont go, then someone else might (have seen it happen with a polite " oh sorry” when caught but he was defn gonna eat it and go !!)On a sunny day the view is fantastic, but more often than not a little chilly so keep wrapped up and eat quickly as it get cold in a Nano second....and if the mist comes down I suggest you keep skiing and find somewhere lower, but do try again.defn a spot for that holiday snap...

La cabane Mont fort jouit d'une vue très agréable, les spécialités régionales sont à l'honneur. À noter que le cheesburger avec fromage à fondue vaut le détour. Malheureusement il n'a y pas de service et en cas de grosse affluence il n'est pas sur que tout le monde mange en même temps.

On a beautiful day, this place has the best possible view, the entire Verbier mountain range just outside the windows. The food is average but the cake and pastry are great. Prices are average for being in Verbier, which has a high price profile. The staff is both friendly and efficient. For less than average skiers, this place has a drawback; you have to be able to run a long "Red" slope in order to get here. But that is also what makes the the views so great. I will definitively go here again.

Ich würde dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Versuchen Sie mal, sich einen Platz draussen zu den schönen Ausblick und die Sonne während des Essens. Das Käsefondue, Crouton, und die Himbeer- Pie sind sehr lecker!

Lungo la discesa del Gentianses la Chaux, in pieno sole con cucina tipica.Ci sono stato molte volte e ho assaggiato diversi piatti.Tutti eccellenti.Personale molto cortese.

Cabane Mont-Fort is an an old stone building with bags of character, in a fairly isolated spot at almost 2500m, and only accessible in winter by skiing down from Mont Fort. This has the advantage that the fur coat and poodle brigade are absent, and only those who are here to ski rather than be seen, are present! The menu is limited, but they do good soup, decent burgers, and traditional swiss dishes of crustry bread, cheese and cold meat. On a sunny day, guests are banished to the outdoor terrace, with stunning views down the valley, and in the opposite direction, the overhanging peaks of Mont Gele and the Col des Gentianes. But the cabane is at its best in harsh weather, when only the hardy venture up this high, and the rustic interior, warmed by log fires provide a welcoming afternoon stop.

Deux déjeuners à l'été 2010. La cabane mont fort se mérite (une belle marche en montée pour y parvenir) mais cela vaut la peine :- vue spendide- cuisine simple et excellente (les croûtes au fromage en particulier sont délicieuses).
