Café Byron in Lac Léman (VD)

It's a nice cafe-restaurant. After visiting the castle, my friend and I just walked in this place having our lunch. They provided plenty of choices, from hot food to cold snacks, desserts, candys, hot/cold drinks, wine, beers. Since my friend is vegetarian, she is tiny bit picky which she would like to have some hot food instead of salad in this cold weather. The chef proposed and personalized the plate for her, she was very happy in the end. I took "Rosti" and it was not bad at all. We almost sat there for almost the whole afternoon chatting and relaxing. Cafe Byron is a very chill and clam place for friends and family, their staffs were very nice. We both like it here and will definitely come again next time.

Very nice atmosphere, warm welcome, quality and varied products, a place that is perfect for all types of customers. I highly recommend. Superb view of the lake and the Chateau de Chillon, close to public transport and free parking spaces (3 hours) with a blue disc generously offered by the Castle.

A cafe with a nice location and the view, but… If you’re vegetarian, you can hardly find an option for eating here, and if you’re vegan — there’s only a tiny soup. The food does not have labels and the staff is busy therefore is annoyed by the questions. They suggest eggs/cheese products whilst I asked what is vegan. Prices are too high for self-service. No tap water available which is non environment friendly, you have to buy bottled water for ~5chf…

One day of visiting Chillon Castle, we were with Colombian friends and we entered the café to drink hot chocolate. When I entered, my Colombian friend wanted to go to the bathroom. We asked the waitress for the toilets and she said it was only for customers. We told her that we were going to drink but that it was urgent but she didn't want to give us the code until we paid for the coffees. Then we asked her a question about milk and she gave us a very provocative answer, making us understand that we were stupid. The waitress is called Sonia. Very unpleasant and not at all cheerful.

A great roesti formula with the visit to the castles. Friendly and friendly cook. Pleasant atmosphere with a view of the castles.

Two dirty tables with crumbs on them. Dirty knife. Röstis full of oil... Exorbitant prices for a self-serve, 30.- for 5dl of wine. And the Hamburg... Really weird sauce.

It's average... The meat on the burgers is just okay, the sauce is good but overall the whole thing is too fatty. Decent fries, nothing more. Fortunately they offer carafes of water, without that I would still have removed a star... FYI they are well hidden under the cash register lol! because without that you pay chf 4.95 for a small bottle of water! Burger fries at 22 chf are too much for what they are, at this price you really expect the best so no wonder the ratings are dropping...

Friendly staff who are on hand to provide advice and accommodating in a small, practical self-service restaurant. Visited spontaneously on a Monday lunchtime and there were hardly any other visitors.

They have breakfast, coffee, chocolate, sweets, savory, sandwiches and soft drinks. The bathrooms are very clean. You can have breakfast looking at the castle. Very nice employees.

Disappointed: prices much too high. Bad burger because the bread smells burnt, the meat is cooked to perfection and served well cooked; I wonder about the cooking method because it looks like boiled or microwaved meat... For me it's not a café, as we understand it in the canton of Vaud: just a self-service canteen style; really a shame given the beauty of the place.

Friendly place, clean, very good food... But here are the high prices because of the castle 10frs for a one and a half liter bottle of water (Henniez) etc.... too bad, big profiteer... let's raise the prices I agree but times 10... no it's too much. In addition, the panini did not have any raw ham inside according to the description, but I couldn't complain because my daughter ate it all....because it was good... Too bad because the small snacks offered are good...

Small self-service restaurant where we ate well after visiting the castle, very practical because right next door. Good burger and good roestis, nice presentation. The person at the checkout very friendly. Very reasonable prices, the only downside is the price of bottled drinks (soda) which is very expensive in my opinion! We are not far from 10.- per liter!!! Unfortunately, these are often the prices in this type of place and it's a shame. I was also surprised to see a person dressed like a cook (white coat and little hat on his head) come to clean the toilets...

My stay with you was really superb even though I was in such a rush :)) The location of the restaurant is great, the staff is very nice, the food is pleasant. I recommend! Special thanks for everything to Pascal and the lady! :)

Charmless and sterile environment, like eating in a hospital waiting room. The food is not very inspiring and overpriced for what it is, but it tastes fine.

Not friendly staff. Well not all but the lady who served us at the checkout today in the morning she was not, a hello and at least a smile before telling us the total I think it's the minimum, the basis of the politeness what. Cappuccino is made up of 70% water, and waffles? Leave it without a lid without anything, they were so hard that it was impossible to eat it. We got up and didn’t drink!

Great place with a lovely seating area looking out to the castle. Great selection of food and drinks. We had a lovely Rosti with fried egg and some paninis. Also had the strawberries with chantilly cream and tiramisu - all were good!

A very warm welcome, a very professional team, a warm and friendly atmosphere. When you visit Chillon Castle, you absolutely must stop at Café Byron. A little break for a coffee, a good dessert or a meal is worth it.

Excellent welcome, nice self-service choice. The prices are not exaggerated. We had called to announce ourselves (group of 13 people), we had a personalized and very friendly welcome from Pascal. Beautiful view of the castle, don't hesitate to stop at Café Byron, during a visit to Chillon Castle, or simply while passing through the region. Numerous free 3-hour parking spaces.

A super nice place, with super welcoming staff. It is worth the detour to spend a pleasant moment of relaxation.

The prices are too high, especially considering that after visiting the castle there is no place to buy food. So we went there for a bit of troubleshooting. We wait a little too long to receive the order.

Excellent location, right next to the castle! Coffee, tea, soft drinks, pastries, paninis, salads, a couple of cooked dishes. Overall a bit of everything but nothing really extraordinary. The prices were ok considering the unique location of the cafe. There are both inside and outside sitting areas with a wonderful view of the castle. The cafe is not really suitable for vegans.

I decided to buy a fruit cup, but it was expired. I inquired with the bar staff and they made up excuses to make me believe I was wrong but the fruit was clearly expired and they stank and what's more they didn't refund me.

9 CHF (9.50 euros just under) for two bottles of water. Don't be fooled by the fact that everything costs more in Switzerland, which is true, but here the prices are very overpriced for tourism

I had the fish of the day which was made gluten and garlic free for me by the absolutely wonderful personnel. They were just so kind, helpful and welcoming! Great memories! Thank you Frederic and team 🙏 I did burn myself on the very hot metal barrier around the restaurant as it was a hot day but the cafe staff are aware and have been asking the castle to remedy this issue so it's not on them. The bag filled with ice Frederic gave me helped the burn heal much faster!

After visiting the castle I wanted to drink tea and eat sweets. On the way we came across a cafe. I was attracted by the transparent high windows and a wonderful view of the castle. But...it's a self-service buffet. I served myself and took tea and cake, asked for cutlery, the girl said that they were already on the tray. I go up to the table, and there is a spoon in the napkin. I tried to eat the cake with this spoon, it was very inconvenient, the cake was all over the table, I went and asked for a fork and knife, but they told me there were no forks. Something like that ))

Toilet closed even though coffee was open, had to go to the public toilet at the castle. Could be friendlier. It's a shame for the great place.

Nice staff, the food was quite good. Although it is a self-service restaurant, the food is brought to the table and the dirty dishes are cleared away. I can recommend it if you visit Chillon Castle.

15 years since we last came to visit Chillon! Surprised to discover this welcoming and friendly restaurant. Frédéric, the manager does everything to make you comfortable. The food is excellent, at very reasonable prices.

It's a buffet coffee and meal. I order a cup of coffee for about 5 CHF. The price is very reasonable. The environment is beautiful and the waiter is very friendly! Very close to the castle, suitable for friends, lovers and family gatherings! I'll come back.

25 years since I last came to the castle, what a pleasure to find this beautiful place to eat with quality dishes and which offers local products, obviously cooked “home”. Friendly and caring staff. A good point for tourism in Switzerland, we are far from the welcome and the military tambouille that we are still too often served elsewhere.

Very good restautant with tipical local food, if you will be hungry after the Chillon Castle's visit here is the place to stop. Correct prices.

The only place to eat near the castle with a superb view of it. The host takes great care. It's a good surprise for me who was worried when I was told that it's a low-end self catering establishment at exorbitant prices taking advantage of its proximity to a place of excellence. The quiches and desserts are more than adequate. The basic dish was well done. Well otherwise these are the Swiss prices...

It's nothing special to be honest. Just convenient as it's the closest place to the chateau chillon to eat. The salad was edible, the soup was good, the tiramisu was just disappointing. The price for what you get is expensive. Staff was friendly enough.

It wasn't there when we last visited Chateau de Chillon. Fits very well here. Delicious little quiches and sweet baked goods, served fresh. Coffee selection and ice cream. Nice personel. Clean and orderly. Gladly again.

We had a delicious, fresh and healthy lunch here. It wasn’t busy and the location and food made it a perfect place to stop. Thoroughly recommended!
