Café del Mundo in Basel

Just had a late breakfast here, staff very friendly. Lots of local customers. Coffee and food are excellent. We left very happy.

We immediately felt welcome and comfortable in this café and were served with great warmth. The food and coffee were very tasty. We'd love to come back when we're in Basel again.

Absolute impudence! We ordered food through Eat at 12:40 and waited over an hour for them to cancel our order shortly before closing time at 1:55 p.m. Never again!

I visited here for the first time today for lunch and fell in love with this cozy cafe. Very good coffee, food, cake - everything made with care. The service and staff are amazing, too. There’s also a nice garden. I will definitely come back!

Strange experience: afternoon, two people behind the counter, busy, people who want to sit in the garden or ask for take away are served at the counter in between. I sit at a table in a (very small) coffee for 30 minutes, working - and unattended. Highlight: The young lady runs past my table to clear something nearby. Side eye. Go behind the counter again. I then bought my break drink at Migros.

Very average Cafe place, good service but very limited breakfast and eating options. Decent coffee.

I haven't tried any food there yet but the coffee is really tasty. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The little café has indoor and outdoor seating as well as a little place in the back where it's a bit more quiet. It's bear the trainstation so defenetly worth stepping by some time.

This place is doing it right. The coffee is top notch, taste wonderfully and pretty consistent against other places we tried (we try too much coffee shops). The staff is friendly and smiling, it is pretty hard not to smile back and enjoy the positive vibe here. The pastries are also tasty, some of them are even creative and healthy, and they are surprisingly good as well. It's our go to coffee shop.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is nice with a small garden and lots of places on the street, nice street café. The impression: behind the counter: pretty messy, cluttered and dirty, there was something lying around everywhere. The cappuccino and latte machiato were so bad, thin and looked gray and not coffee-brown. Apparently the coffee machine is not set correctly or the coffee is very cheap. The croissants were frozen croissants baked in the oven, but it doesn't seem to be set correctly either, Because they weren't cooked through inside, they were completely soggy. Considering it's a café, the croissants should be fresh and good. I wasn't convinced.

The coffee is fantastic. The sandwich and cake wonderful. Behind the coffee there is a cute little courtyard with tables and chairs. Place your order in the coffee shop and then it will be brought to you. Very nice staff behind the counter. The prices are quite expensive, but everything that is possible is taken into account. Quality, vegan, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, sustainable...etc. Perfect for a coffee chat

Good, dark espresso. Normal price (Doppio CHF 5.50). Friendly service, pleasant, perhaps somewhat cluttered restaurant.

You know how you walk into a cafe just cuz a friend wants to go there & then you take a sip of coffee & then you are addicted & then you have to go out of your way to go back there the next day cuz it is so ridiculously delightful? That. And also, great gluten-free chocolate cake that is very worthy of being called cake. 😂

Sweet little coffee shop (I think they also do lunch) next to the back entry of the Basel train station. The owners are very nice and friendly and I felt welcomed from the minute we walked in. The place gets quite busy, which is a good sign. Will definitely be back soon - keep on the great work!

Well, what can I say. Products very tasty including coffee, prices rather high and service superficially nice. Effectively the ladies, or at least one or two of them, are moody. The processes are particularly unprofessional. There is none! The tables and chairs are usually glued together. My shirt was already whiter, and unfortunately this has happened many times.

It was a very nice experience to have a coffee here with good friends. The location is very nice and simple. You can also sit outside. You will immediately be greeted and received in a very friendly and courteous manner. That's how it has to be :) All I can say is an unforgettable happening. The prices, in my opinion, are okay. I'll definitely come by again! The location is in a central location, near the SBB train station. Walk about 150 meters. From that point of view it's really perfect, also because it has tram and bus stations nearby! There are also enough bicycle parking spaces. The place is simple and clean, as it should be. Music not too loud, nice and quiet and cozy. All in all: if you want to be comfortable, quiet and eat like a king, come along! We recommend :)
