Café restaurant Le Tortillard in Lausanne

By happy coincidence, we opened the door to this old-fashioned café which is run by a charming couple and we were won over by the place and the very welcoming “like at home” atmosphere. The café is located away from traffic, and as a result, is “a bubble of tranquility” in Lausanne. The Café is clean, presents well, has a very large terrace and the customers are very friendly. We have been regular customers for two years and it is with regret that we are moving far from Lausanne but on our next visit to Switzerland we will be happy to go again to this address which we highly recommend!

Delicious and hearty buckwheat pancake! The salad is fresh with a divine sauce….The place is calm, bright and very pleasant. We had a great time! THANKS!

Simple raclette evening during the day very good menu desserts artisanal ice creams and especially the famous hot chocolate in 3 versions in powder or with pieces of chocolate and the super thick hot chocolate a delight you can only find them here I will return there to taste the house hot chocolate

A friendly welcome, “good-natured” regulars in a peaceful atmosphere, a beautiful terrace out of the traffic, a good beer or creamy chocolate. To try: the advantageous dish of the day!

Privately run cafés/restaurants are rare in Sous Gare. This restaurant is really charming and authentic. The lunch is very good, Swiss/French style. The owners, a couple, are super nice. It's a local bistro, a neighborhood restaurant. Their terrace is great in good weather. Inside it’s very “cozy”. Only at this time the restaurant is hidden by the large construction site of a chapel and center and the renovation of the building. Fortunately they are so loved that their customers remain very loyal, and that says it all. Worth stopping by to drink a good beer, an excellent cider, or coffee, tea, or their delicious hot chocolates. Charming!

This is kne if the best secret jewels of lausanne bars. If you like beers or syrup they have what you need. Very nice view and not crowed as it is behind a construction work site. I cannot recommend it enough. Plus the bar owner is super nice.

Le Tortillard is a family restaurant, the welcome is warm and the place is very pleasant. For the end of the year, their large terrace is equipped with two lighted tents of almost 50 M2 as well as electric heaters. Which allows you to spend a good evening outdoors. Every Thursday it's #raclette evening / 5.50 francs per portion. The service is fast and efficient and the raclette is to die for. In addition, every three weeks they revisit raclette in another way. It's worth the detour. I highly recommend.

Este café tiene una buena ubicación, cerca de la estación de tren, con una bonita terraza y lejos de los ruidos de la calle.El servicio estuvo bien, un poco pasivo pero receptivo una vez que los llamaste.Desafortunadamente, la comida estaba mala. Claramente era solo una lata al azar abierta y colocada en un plato, luego "cocinada" en el microondas. Simplemente no pude comerlo en absoluto, que es la primera vez en mi vida.Entonces, este es un buen lugar para tomar una copa, pero esto no es un restaurante.

This café has a good location, close to the train station, with a nice terrasse and far from the noises of the street. The service was OK, a bit passive but responsive once you called them. Unfortunately, the food was bad. It was clearly just some random can opened and put in a plate, then “cooked” through microwave. I simply could not eat it at all, which is a first in my lifetime. So, this is a good place to have a drink, but this is not a restaurant.

Ambiance tout-a-fait sympathique! La cuisine du patron est généreuse ET très goûteuse. Le coeur semble mis avec l' ouvrage!! A recommander.

Vraiment bien situé, le propriétaire était sympathique et arrangeant. Les pâtisseries étaient moelleuses et boisson accompagnait deux petits biscuits mignons! :)

Endroit très agréable pour se détendre ou pour lire en sirotant une boisson traditionnelle, thé ou café. J'aime bien le côté un peu rétro de la décoration!

Grande terrasse très sympathique, agréable quand on y vient avec des enfants. Restauration simple mais convenable à des prix correctes. Je tiens à souligner que les patrons sont très serviables et à l’écoute. Ils proposent une bière sans gluten, pour mon plus grand bonheur ! J’y vais régulièrement et j’apprécie toujours ce moment.

Chère pour une salade qui m'aurait croûté 6.- à la COOP (payée 18.50frs) et le service vraiment pas top. Par contre, ils ont de très bonnes bières locales et d'ailleurs ça c'est vraiment top ! 😃

Service déplorable, plus proche d'un centre de réinsertion pour retraités que d'un" café -restaurant". L'assiette de saumon avec ce dernier encore plus sec qu'une biscotte est à la limite du mangeable. L'attente est longue (plus de 10 minutes avant le premier contact avec madame la "serveuse") et la qualité est totalement absente. L'hygiène de la terrasse est à déplorer: mouchoirs sales par terre et mégots. En conclusion, le prix exorbitant est scandaleux par rapport au service proposé. Je déconseille fortement ce lieu.

Dies ist eines der alten ( 1960 ern ) Bistro / Cafés in Lausanne. Die Leute, die es vielleicht nicht sprechen Englisch, aber sie sind sehr süß. Das Essen ist einfach, aber nicht teuer und sehr gut, alles hausgemacht (abgesehen von der traditionellen Schweizer Gebäck aus der Gegend natürlich) . Im Sommer oder wärmer Tage haben sie eine riesige Terrasse.Sie renovieren den Bahnhof von Lausanne (Gare de Lausanne) und so die herrlichen alten Speisesaal ist jetzt geschlossen. Wenn Sie die aktuelle heiß Essen serviert Ihnen das Hotel nach 2 Uhr (die Hauptmahlzeit gegessen zwischen 12.00 und 14.00 Uhr serviert werden oft um Schweiz und Restaurants am Nachmittag) . Da diese Leute sind einfach nur unglaublich schön Ich habe Menu in am Nachmittag, und sie haben eine Platte mit der Tag ist etwas ganz Besonderes, was selten ist. L'endroit est simple, sans prétention. La nourriture familiale, comme l'accueil. On passe un agréable moment au calme.

La terrasse est sympathique, spacieuse et éloignée de la circulation, ce qui est pratique lorsque l'on vient avec des enfants. Repas corrects rapports qualités prix. Très bien localisé, sous-gare.

Sehr, sehr nahe am Bahnhof von lausanne ( Gare ). Schönes, einladendes Service und die Maronenkruste aux Kinderbetreuung Villa Champignon war sehr lecker. Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis für diese Teile.

A chacune de mes visites, c'est toujours un plaisir de me sentir très à l'aise dans ce resto du quartier de Grancy.Une assiette du jour avec une salade mêlée en entrée toujours appréciée et préparée par le patron.Les salades très variées, les flammenküche et les pizzas sont très bonnes ainsi que les glaces artisanales. J'y ai aussi degusté une excellente entrecôte parisienne.N'hésitez pas de commander une tranche de gâteau au vin cuit qui est à tomber quand le patron en a préparé.

En route to Paris, changing at Lausanne, this attractive and unassuming nearby cafe was a godsend. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the cafe terrace, glimpsing Lake Geneva and the Alps across Lausanne roofs cascading down the hill to the lake's edge: a peaceful space, with locals sipping cappuccinos and reading newspapers, or chatting over morning espressos. We were thrilled to see two black kites flying over and mentioning this to the friendly proprietor,Dominique, she produced a collection of marvellous bird photographs taken by a client of the cafe for us to look at. Her kindness in making our last stop on our European holiday so pleasant makes this cafe a rather special memory. Next time we take the train through Switzerland, we hope to stop in Lausanne and revisit.

Das Essen ist gut, mit einem angemessenen Wert für das Geld für die in Lausanne. Das Restaurant sieht etwas veraltet, aber mit einem einfachen Erscheinung und eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Der Service ist gut, freundlich und aufmerksam.

J'adore y aller l'été, terrasse ensoleillée et une grande carte de salades plus délicieuses les unes que les autres.Le service n'est par contre pas rapide.

Le Tortillard is a 5 mins walk from Lausanne gare and next to the Grancy stop of M2 (you may also take bus no: 2). It is quite a secret (which is probably why it didn't have a page on Tripadvisor!) since it is tucked away and is a local family run cafe-restaurant (and the clients are mainly locals too).The owners are very nice and friendly. The ambiance is quite homely, with a mildly traditional decor. For a little cafe, they do have a good range of beverages (try their special teas!) and grub (everything cooked to order by the owners themselves)- the food is wholesome (nothing too fanciful) and delicious. It is the place to be, away from the hustle and bustle.
