Café Rumi in Kilchberg (ZH)

It is a place where you feel welcome despite your nationality, you feel like you are in your living room.

We really enjoyed our time there, the food and drinks are really good. The stuff is super friendly, i like the vibe there. I definitly will come back. I really can recommand this place for everyone

Best coffee in town, especially in combination with a cookie or piece of cake. Cafe Rumi has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff is caring and sweet.

Sugary-sweet café with coffee specialties and treats from lemon ricotta cake to spinach quiche to avocado mozzarella sandwiches. Magical service in a living room atmosphere. Regular events such as stand-up comedy and karaoke included!

The ambience is super nice and the coffee is very good. The space is super cozy and artistic love it, the people working there are superrrr nice .

Walked in here to find the owner(?) in a party hat. She oozes warmth, kindness and self-confidence. You feel like you've been friends for life even though you've just met. It turns out it was her birthday and there were several customers coming to wish her well. That's the atmosphere of the place... it's like calling to a friend's house for a cup of tea. The decor is fabulous and really cozy. The food wasn't spectacular but hit the spot... coffee was good. Would definitely return!

When i got in, the owner instantly greeted us with good vibes. The food was great. The service was very good she was very kind. The atmosphere was amazing. All the options of places to sit were great, very comfy seats and a lovely window view. Would deffinetly recommend.

I take my children to Rumi's every Wednesday while waiting for the other to finish their after school activity and it has been our weekly tradition for the past 2 years. I can't rave about this place enough! Not only does their menu change and get updated with new and fun desserts but they also have the most delicious freshly made waffles my kids get every week. All of the staff are kind and very hospitable, especially Wyda! My kids always ask if we're going to see her because she's kind and gives them special attention. If you like delicious, home made desserts and food while relaxing in a cozy atmosphere, look no further!

Amazing place, feels like home.

Every village and town should have a place like Cafe Rumi. It’s a home away from home. Their food is all prepared and made with love and the atmosphere is quirky, homely and just makes you wanna stay forever. The carrot cake is a must! It’s super moist, not overly sweet and is full of flavour and bite!

It's a cafe with a very nice atmosphere. The cake is very delicious and highly recommended ☺️ There were many sofa seats, so I thought it would be child-friendly.

This place has the nicest hosts, they make the experience so personal and happy. I love the story of their cafe and loved talking to the staff. I would highly recommend the carrot cake with cream cheese swirl and the warm drinks. Highly recommend this cafe when you are going to visit Lindt, it's walkable from there.

I can highly recommend a visit to Café Rumi. But beware! It won't just be a visit. ;-) The food and drinks taste great. And the ambience and the staff should also be positively highlighted. In my opinion an absolute insider tip.

Very nice café, food was delicious and the atmosphere just perfect!!! A MUST!!! Even if Switzerland has so many wonderful things to offer, this was definitely the best discovery of our trip!! We can’t wait to be back there (and we will!).

Its feels like home we were 4 we ordered Croissant, carrot cake, brownies, quiche with salad , black coffee, Oat Cappuccino, 2 iced oat coffee that cost 44 Franc. The owner was very welcomeing and lovely we feel like being home❤️ the only disadvantage that you need to walk up hill to reach it😄

Absolutely loved our experience at Cafe Rumi while we were in town for the Lindt factory! It was such a warm and wonderful atmosphere - and great food and drinks as well! Something about the people and energy made it feel like home. I will forever recommend this place to anyone I know visiting Switzerland.

An excellent cafe for lunch! We came here after visiting Lindt (I'm very glad we did). The shopkeeper was very warm and welcoming and answered all our questions. We ordered two sandwiches, both were delicious. We also each got a drink that was equally tasty. I would highly recommend this place!

Beautiful ambience and an even more great and loving host. There is delicious food and delicious drinks and great events almost every week that are good for exchanges and networking in the neighborhood. Very child and dog friendly! Everyone will be warmly welcomed there. We're always happy to come back!

When you have Rumi as your muse, you know the cafe will be infected with that sense of poetry and joy! And it is. Everyone there is happy and it is this little hub of creativity and community.

From the moment we stepped through the front door, we fell in love with this little café. Their slogan is "dein Wohnzimmer", which is perfectly suited to the café. Immediately, my kids felt so comfortable that they grabbed some boardgames and sprawled out on the beautiful rug, just as they would in our living room. It's a pity I forgot to take pictures! Jenni and her team radiate warmth and hospitality. The whole place is filled with positive energy and love. The food is also freshly made every morning... delicious! Bottom line: whenever you're in Kilchberg, this is a must-visit! I'm making it my new, go-to coffee place.

We've spent the whole day working from here today and it's such a pity that I forgot to take some pictures! The food was so yummy and pretty. The whole place is beautiful and cozy and the staff makes you feel like you're home. This is now officially one of my favorite Cafes in the Zurich area ❤️

Open welcoming atmosphere, high quality for reasonable prices, great place to be in Kilchberg! And they have my favorite Finnish Gin! I’ll be back for the cheese cake, looks yum!

The owner is very warm and welcoming, a delightful place to enjoy good food.

There is a poster by the door that defines coffee as turns"leave me alone" to "good morning honey", well not only the coffee does that to you here. The coffee is very good. We also tried the ice coffee which was perfect in the scorching sun. There's homemade cakes and pies by the ladies running the shop and best of all we were welcomed by the brightest of smiles. Very quickly we realised this is a special place in the community, where you can see the stream of regulars popping in for their fix, a perfect place to people watch, see local artworks displayed or read a book. So special I wished there was one back at my home.

Don’t miss this place. They have a smile on a menu just for 0 FR. Is it not enough for you to come here? They also have a lot of amazing books! Food is pretty good, everything is homemade. You have to come here not only because you are hungry but because you would love people who are working here. Highly recommend!

Wonderful living room café with charm and warm service. We felt completely comfortable and were treated to a delicious Brussels sprout quiche fresh from the oven! The passion fruit spritzer is also recommended…

Lovely little spot just a short walk from the train station. The owner is incredibly sweet! Chocolate chip cookies were amazing, and the sandwich was really yummy too. The interior was beautiful - very warm and welcoming.

I came into Café Rumi because a friend from Kilchberg had said it just opened. What a pleasure! I came back the next two days, too. It's got such a great atmosphere and the owner is so genuinely kind. It is cozy, the coffee is good, the food is appetizing, wifi is good, and it is surrounded by nice people -- really, what more could you ask for?
