Not bad pizza, obviously don't expect Italian pizza, some ingredients are completely wrong (the feta in the 4 cheeses... feta is a Greek cheese not Italian... oh well) but overall it's quite good. The other dishes are "strange" in terms of combinations (see grilled cuttlefish on the plate with pizza mozzarella... wow!) but good. Tucked away at the edge of the Pedestrian Zone with ample outdoor seating. The wait staff was attentive and polite without being overbearing. The menu is typical Italien fare with a healthy mix of pastas and pizza. The food was according to expectations in regard to taste and flavor. Portions sizes tend to the smaller size even for European standards. Coupled with standard Swiss-inflation, value per bite is quite low. Overall, good restaurant, but one should plan to spend at least 25-30CHF per person at lunch and even more for dinner.

Brilliantly restaurant. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so flavoursome. Pizza had a superb taste with a great thin crispy base. The food is well priced and we had really friendly staff. If you are English speaking they have English menu options available , I find this handy if you are not familiar with German ingredient names. Will definitely be going back again. Thought I’d add to this review , we have been back many times and have never been disappointed, I would however suggest that on weekends (including Friday nights ) I would phone to reserve a table. I find this restaurant is pretty popular around 7pm onwards , Ofcourse there is more seating outside around the summer months which is fabulous, however not pleasant for the winter months. In the winter the restaurant is really warm and cosy. Also the location is fab, after a lovely meal you can walk along the river Rhein. If you don’t fancy walking all the way back to the main train station you can catch a bus near the bottom of the town which takes you to the main train station in Schaffhausen.

I had a very delicious dinner at this place. The pasta was really well prepared with a tasteful sauce. The ice cream dessert was great as well. The price is very fair, and the place by itself is very comfy -- there are small plants outside which I like. I will visit again once I will be back to Schaffhausen.

The waiter we had today seemed annoyed and stressed and afterwards he stood under the door frame and looked around. The waiter stays behind my back when I order and I have to turn 180 degrees to place my order. I don't think that's possible. The food tasted good, except the olives were very dry. The drinks are not nice at all. The carbonated drinks like Fanta and Cola have no carbonation and taste almost only like water. I don't know how something like this happens, but the drinks aren't good at all. I have never drunk such a terrible Fanta and Coke.

It was my first and last time at Casanova! I'm more than disappointed! My calzone was cold inside, my dessert, vanilla ice cream with hot cherries, was a disaster! Cocktail cherries were used instead of hot cherries, there was probably nothing else in the house! Absolutely inedible. I left the dessert untouched, the waiter didn't even ask if anything was wrong! Paid and left! The staff didn't have time to say goodbye, so the four of us sat at the table for dinner. Even though they saw that I was leaving, no one stood up to quickly say goodbye and thank you!!! Once and never again!!!

I would give this 1 stars because the service was so bad but the food that I ordered was good. My waiter was rude and acted like my group was ruining his day by eating at the restaurant. After my group ate and we were waiting for the check he had a 15 min Make-out and smoke session with a girl outside the restaurant. My group also asked to pay with card and in a rude manor he turned around walked away and said “of course”. The food was alright but I would not recommend eating here and it was not an enjoyable lunch at all because of this.
