Certo in Zürich

We spontaneously went to Certo again and I have to say it was just great. Great service, attentive and even got a very nice table. The food was excellent. Certo salad eaten with weeks ravioli. Certo house wine was drunk white and red. We were completely satisfied and are already looking forward to the summer terrace again.

We really liked it at Certo. Very nice atmosphere. Very courteous service and nice selection on the menu. I had the vegan tartare as a starter and was thrilled. The pasta Strozzapreti al salsiccia is also highly recommended. The hazelnut tart was amazing! We keep coming back and every time it is a culinary Italian trip 💚🤍❤️

Don’t understand me wrong. Food was really tasty, staff was doing what they could do. Wines (or wine) which we choose - really good. What I don’t undestand are points below 1) quite poor variety of disher to choose 2) i’d call meals rather small, what in comparison with price is not a good ratio 3) ovwrall price per (not happily filled belly) was around 50 CHF what could equal to plenty of opportunities to eat healthy, full and… quicker 4) I realized the waiting time right after leaving, the thing is if tou don’t have anyone to speak to it might be lenghty….

Atmosphere and service quite okay. However, the quality of the food is not sufficient to really impress in Zurich. The starters were OK. The carbonara was slightly watery and not seasoned enough. The strudel was good. Maybe interesting for a quick lunch. However, given the price, dinner is not recommended. There are really too many good alternatives in the city.

Very cozy atmosphere and service was super friendly. Of course the food was almost as good as at mom's home😁 Hence the 5 stars.

Today in Zürich I discovered that an Italian can eat Italian and drink highly respected Italian wines. I discovered this place this morning for breakfast, the cappuccino already gave me some excellent clues and so I convinced myself to book for lunch... I ate excellent strozzapreti with sausage ragù... and drank a fantastic Valpolicella! I suggest trying…

I agree that the pictures in the reviews look nice. But this is yet another mediocre Italian restaurant. The service is attentive and good. The food is... meh. Had lunch here a couple of times. This time we decided to give it a go and have dinner. The food is ok, but not overwhelming. I'm sure there's a lot of room for improvement in presentation and taste. The tiramisu was perhaps the worst I have had in a restaurant that day. Heavy and bitter. Maybe less cocoa powder would help. The soup as a starter was disappointing. Bland and mediocre. Can't recommend if someone is looking for a great Italian experience. There are better places in Zürich.

Overall nice place (atmosphere, service), however the pasta we had were not good - the sauce of the cacio e pepe had little to do with Italian recipes. Hope they would improve their recipe or change their chef, so that I would come back

There is still a bit of room for improvement in the kitchen. The arancini and the parmiggiana were a bit too dry, otherwise really first class, especially the veggie tartare and the meat in the main course! The dessert was also amazing! The service and atmosphere are really good! Same as the wine - I highly recommend the wine of the house as well. The pasta… not so much.. I had a cacio e Pepe and was more of a soup than a proper cacio e Pepe.

Cozy restaurant with extremely friendly staff and Host. Here the boss shows himself in person Table, you are greeted ❤️ -ly and also adopted. Rich offer and excellent and also prepared with love for the eye Food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended - a visit is worth it Definitely, we'll be back!👌🏽

Excellent Tavolata! I was very skeptical about veggie eggplant lasagna and panna cotta with almond milk! But surprisingly I found it very nice! I discovered something new in terms of cuisine...and I'll be back! Also great service!

The food was very, very good. Pleasant atmosphere, not so loud in the restaurant. First an aperitif at the beautiful bar in the restaurant. Great selection of cocktails. But then we took the Franciacorta. The salad with mandarin dressing is a poem. Appenzell lamb was delicious, as was the tagliata. Keep it up.

The Certo in Zurich impressed us with its outstanding Italian cuisine at our team lunch. The fresh pasta was to die for – perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Tartare di Manzo was also of excellent quality. Particularly noteworthy is the diverse and high-quality wine selection, which ideally complemented our meals. The selection of vegan dishes, which were impressive both in terms of taste and appearance, deserve special praise. The caffè was so authentic that we felt like we were in Italy. In short, Certo is an absolute highlight for lovers of Italian cuisine and offers a perfect ambience to have a good time with friends or business colleagues. We will definitely come back!

Very nice ambience, friendly service, skilful wine selection; But what is sold as Tavolata is simply an expensive menu (the same for everyone), which is relative. is simply thrown together and is only marginally Italian! When we think of Tavolata, we imagine a colorful range of diverse dishes that can really be shared however you like. Please improve!

The Certo offers guests everything they could wish for. It's a great restaurant with super competent and friendly staff! The food is fantastic. A seasonal menu that is updated regularly. There are plenty of vegetarian options and everything is prepared super fresh. The wine list is handpicked by Host Severin offers something for everyone. Great address for outside as well as inside, the restaurant is very stylishly decorated. We weren't there First time here and will come again✌️!

little Italian vacation in the middle of Zurich!

Our new favorite restaurant in Zurich! Food tastes incredibly good & the service is excellent. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the atmosphere on Werdplatz outside and the interior and ambience are impressive inside.

We had a wonderful evening at Certo. The atmosphere is so inviting that we immediately felt at home. The service was very courteous and everyone was in a really good mood, which rubbed off directly on the guests. Unfortunately the chanterelles were of poor quality and probably old. The risotto itself was good after adding salt. We ate risotto with chanterelles. Kind regards SL

I really liked the selection of dishes on the menu. What I chose (vegetable tartare) was delicious, as was the soup ahead. I would like to come back soon to try out the menu further and to feel welcome as a guest again.

I've worked in the "old" Certo for years and was there for the first time under the new owners last week: it was wonderful! We took the Tavolata - value for money is really great! Two summery antipasti, then Trofje al Pesto genovese - one of my favorite dishes - followed by delicious salsiccia with peperonata, great polpette and grilled vegetables. Dolci only fit two: tiramisù in a glass & a cherry amaretti. The only thing I would personally prefer was the wine list from another wine shop 😉 Our very friendly service finally gave us a tour of the really successfully renovated rooms - THANK YOU for that too! We'll definitely come back.

The food is good, the main course (pouletsaltimboca with polenta) is mediocre. The service still has a lot of room for improvement! It wasn't really good for Tavolata with wine accompaniment. Food was simply thrown down, you had to ask for wine, nothing was explained. The entire service seemed stressed and just ran. It has to be said that the weather – indoors and outdoors – was difficult because thunderstorms were forecast. Nevertheless, with a final bill of CHF 225, one wished for better, more attentive service.

Nice waiters ask if you've had enough before clearing away the food. Generally very attentive, thank you! 😎

We had dinner outside on the terrace. Great spot for a glass of wine and something to eat. I especially liked the fresh pasta dish. Friendly service as well!

Balanced contrasts. I enjoyed the vegan tavolata, which used various pickles to add sweetness, acidity and crunch in pleasant contrasts to the dishes' mellow, earthy or soft elements. Desserts subtly flavoured, instead of sugar-bombs. Sommelier's glasswise suggestions were exciting. Four courses over 2 hours for 69 francs (exc. wine) seems good value for food and people-watching in Zürich. Will be back for food, and the wine-bar.

Nice local. Food was great. Arrived quickly as requested as we didn't have much time. We also used the hall on the first floor for a hybrid event. Internet via wifi had 100mbit/s in upload and download. More is available upon request. Very helpful staff. We needed e.g. a ladder.

After the old Cert, now Casa Certo. New management, ambience has lost something, very limited lunch menu, too fancy, price has risen massively, portion is rather small. Quality ok. The overall package still has potential.
