Chianalea in Zürich

I reserved this place for 2 people @6:30pm on a Wed. Received confirmation the same day! The restaurant itself is so quaint with south Italian chic. Gives off a very cozy feel! Lorenzo, the part owner was also present and really fun to have a chat with. He explains the menu in full detail as well before any ordering takes place 👍 The FOOD IS DELICIOUS. The starter ravioli was YUM! My husband’s pasta was really nice 👌 The pizza is the reason I was here and so very glad I got my share because it was DIVINE. I’m a sucker for some good pizza but the crust was cooked to PERFECTION! 🍕 The dessert was delicious as well. I decided to go with the Tartuffo Al Pistachio and my husband chose the Profiteroles 🍩

We went on Friday night. The restaurant was full, the space was very small and uncomfortable, the waiting time is very long for everything- asking for menu, waiting for the bill, etc. Food was okay, but compared to the price, value for money was a bit low. Not a comfy place to meet friends to have proper dinner, feels more like a pizza takeaway place.

The food wasn't tasty and the service was too loud and intrusive. The pulp was as dry as the sole of a shoe.

Innkeeper life is celebrated with great arrogance, smack here smack there, but the food was very mediocre.

Small, daily changing menu, freshly purchased from the market. Nice, there are still places like this, I'm so tired of the 12-course hipster places with their exorbitant prices. I'm getting full Chianalea. And happy too. I would only like to see a Ripasso on the wine list. But anyway, I'll be a regular there. Grazie mille.
