Chez Fritz in Kilchberg (ZH)

It didn't meet our expectations for a restaurant in this price range. Bread was served without butter or olive oil and only as many slices as there were people at the table. Butter was only brought upon request, but then the small knife was taken away. Probably because we didn't take a starter. Tables in the back are somewhat crammed together so that as many as possible can fit into the small space. Music way too loud and too party-like. There is no question during the meal whether it tastes good. We also seemed to have had bad luck. Because we had the giant prawns with white wine risotto, which tasted like everything else. When I complained, they said succinctly that everything was normal. It wasn't even recognized that another bowl of lemon water was missing for washing hands. We also got Scaloppine di vitello al limone with so many too many tomatoes here for the first time. Just another restaurant with a lot of appearance and little reality and it's ok for an overpriced drink in the summer, there's a nice terrace and by the lake.

Outstanding restaurant with excellent service and a beautiful location by the lake. We had a large event at Chez Fritz, and the manager amd staff expertly assisted us in the organization. The service staff was attentive to all 50 guests, the dishes were outstanding, most notably the beef fillet and chocolate dessert. The friendliness of the manager and staff really made everyone feel at home. The price, too, was very reasonable for such a number of people. Would reccomend this resturant anytime, be it for a romantic dinner or a corporate event.

Food ok, nothing earth-shattering.

We booked an aperitif for 20 people with various appetizers and drinks at the Chez Fritz Bar. The service from Ms. Michaela Kocjancic, banquet management administration, was extremely professional, cheerful and attentive. We enjoyed it and would recommend Chez Fritz. Thanks a lot for your efforts. We will be back!

Very cool and cozy location right on the lake. The offer, the food and the service are perfect. The staff probably no longer needs to be friendly. The location is so fully booked that you always feel stressed because the next shift is already coming up. Sometimes less is more.

We had a very good experience at Chez Fritz. The food we ordered was delicious, especially the chicken and the beetroot salad. Prices are a bit high but that's expected in Switzerland. Better to book a table in advance. The staff is also kind and welcoming. Recommended.

Chez Fritz has been a safe value for years. The ambience is unparalleled, the staff is attentive, friendly and accommodating and the food is varied, creative and of a very high standard. Again any time!

When you arrive at the restaurant, that nobody greets you for a good 3-4 minutes, that you seem transparent to all the waiters despite asking them if there is someone at the reception, that does not make you valued at all and is not the right way to start the evening. Then when the waiter brings you the menus and wine list and literally on the spot asks you "what do you want to drink" (i.e. without leaving you a single second to even open the wine menu), you wonder what is going on. So yes the Service is severely lacking. The food is OK, nothing really special and a few things which I found weird such as the roasted potatoes roasted outside but almost totally raw inside (not sure if that was on purpose, but this is not particularly nice). Also (although not their fault), the smell of chocolate due to its location to the Lindt factory is just overpowering and not enjoyable when you eat your main (unless you like chocolate flavoured seabass) Only positive is the venue which is nice and quiet. So in comparison and to try to be constructive, I much prefer Seerose (owned by the same group/company/person).

The food was very tasty! Some service (skilled) workers need further training on what friendliness, helpfulness and respect mean in this profession. I thought the best thing for last would be the dessert, but the service lady ignored the dirty dishes for at least 2 hours The thank you to one of us as she got a tip. Her only salary is the tip, made me laugh hard before I fell asleep

Restaurant completely overrated: Lousy, unfriendly staff. We waited over 40 minutes for two starters. The quality of the food leaves something to be desired for this price category: pasta was overcooked, the salt had taken over the taste of the food. No subtle taste of the ingredients discernible.

Unfortunately, the restaurant did not meet our expectations. The greeting is not very attentive at reception and lacks friendliness. The food was served very quickly, aperitif drink, starter and main course in just 40 minutes. The only positive thing to mention is the young waiter, who was very hard-working and attentive. Unfortunately not recommended.

Nice ambience. Unfortunately a very unfriendly staff. First we were looked at sideways and greeted with the sentence “we need the tables at 6 p.m., if you want something to drink you have half an hour”. The wine was good - of course overpriced, we didn't eat anything. After half an hour we left.

Arrived here for a business lunch on a Wednesday, party of 7 people at 12 noon. The setting by the lake is nice, but this was ruined by the wait for our food. We ordered 4 burratas, fillets and 3 salmon. Our burratas never arrived, and it took 1.5 hours for our main course to arrive (after chasing the server 3 times). When I went to complain, the server with long blong hair in a suit raised her voice at me (almost shouted at me), said that fillets take a long time to prepare, said that I should I have pre-ordered (they knew we had to leave at 1.30pm as they booked a taxi for us). She did not apologise and was rude. Terrible for a 500 CHF lunch for 7 main courses. Don't go there.

Famous restaurant, returned here after 20 years. Food great, not impressed by the staff. The staff is not very professional.

5 stars all round. Top lakeside location, great ambience, nice crowd. Tried the tuna “sushi” creation followed by fresh lake Perch. The finale was the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate mouse (really fresh too as it comes from the Lindt & Sprüngli flagship Chocolateria across the road). Wonderful.

Choosing to celebrate my friend's birthday at Chez Fritz was undoubtedly an excellent choice. This restaurant surpassed us on every level and turned a special occasion into an unforgettable evening. Communication before our visit was impeccable. At our request, a beautiful bouquet of flowers was prepared, which added an extra touch of charm and love to the evening. From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt warmly welcomed. The welcome was excellent, the service attentive and polite, and our waiter offered us invaluable assistance in choosing food and drinks. The food itself was excellent. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection and creatively presented. The quality and freshness of the ingredients was evident and much appreciated. It wasn't just the food and service that impressed us, but also the atmosphere of the place itself, which was warm and welcoming. This definitely added to our overall positive experience. Our visit to Chez Fritz was an absolute pleasure and we look forward to returning. For anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend Chez Fritz. The service is excellent xx People there are very considerate and friendly. Foods are okay , but I definitely enjoyed the view more than foods. Hahah, but if you love to have a good view and peaceful meal, that’s good place.

Used to love this place and yes it has been a while. Today's visit was not as exprectd :( . Started friendly in the phone. The lunch felt slightly disorganised , The dining room flowers have seen their freshness date a long time ago. The salad was uninspired. The pulpo was overcooked, drowned in a tomato sauce that tasted of nothing much. The padron peppers unseasoned. The 4 pieces of bread uneventful. An incomplete dish. All lacked flavor and seasoning. Service was friendly, but a little "clunky". Darn, really wish I was able to write nicer things. However, go for a drink and a snack and enjoy the lake views. When in the vicinity. Not even mentioning they need to recalibrate the coffee machine the espresso was not up to scratch :( Below my previous review a while ago. Wish it was like this again... From 4 to right now 2 stars. Great location. Parking can be a challenge and friendly folks. Every time we enjoyed ourselves. The food was good, with some ups and downs. The location compensates for this. I keep coming back as I truly love the views and vibe of Chez Fritz. Thank you again.

We celebrated my friend’s birthday here and just like her, I was truly happy. The setup was very good and the service was amazing and professional too. The menu was in German so I had to ask for translation but that’s not a problem if you can read the language and also, you can use Google translate. I’d love to go back here and share the happiness with my wife in the future 👌🏾

Amazing quality high end Perfect lunch after we visited the Lindt factory. We would highly recommend. Menu was in English and staff accommodated us even though we had not booked and it seems very Swiss. The lunch menu only had 2 option but they were perfect. A real gem that we’ll never forget.

Specialized in fish dishes. The quality is excellent but the quality are small for a cyclist the need to reintegrate the calories. There are special lunch menu.

View was amazing. Service, could have been better. Sat with an empty glass for 15 minutes. Not sure why, but apparently me and my party of 5 did not deserve table cloths when every other table had one.

Right on the lake. There aren't many restaurants like this on the completely built-up Lake Zurich. Has its own parking spaces. But be careful, these become rare during busy times. Friendly service. In terms of price, it's more in the upper segment.

Overpriced food in a beautiful location If you want to eat well, you shouldn't go here. But if you want to spend a nice evening in a pleasant atmosphere right by the lake, then you've come to the right place. You pay for the place and not the food. The price/performance ratio is not right. Eg. : A sea bream in a banana leaf with vegetables was ordered. The little sea bream had more banana leaves than edible fish! The so-called vegetables were chopped up and stuffed into the small fish. Tasteless and hard, it could be eaten in one bite. And that for Fr. 46.-! The service was perfect and pleasant. Fancy has its price, but can't the food still be good?

We went to the Lindt Museum and found this option for lunch located across the street from the Museum. Located on the edge of the lake, it has a very cool atmosphere and an incredible view. The price is fair for lunch dishes. The wine list is good. We ate fish dishes and liked them because they had great flavors. Are you going to the museum? Take advantage and have lunch at a restaurant popular with locals and enjoy Swiss food.

Was here today with friends. Loved the service, the food, the presentation. Very nice people work here who not only create delicious and beautiful dishes, but also a cozy atmosphere. There are tables on the terrace with a beautiful view of Lake Zurich. If it rains, the terrace will not be served. A very sought after location. There were no free seats at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. We reserved a table in advance. Everything is very tasty, beautiful, just pleasant emotions. Recommend.

Aperitif at chez Fritz. The fine Bianco Rovere is offered here in a 3/8 bottle. Friendly service. The restaurant is located directly on the lake with a beautiful terrace. We'll be back in the summer.

Overrated, overpriced and rude service! Only the views are good but you can also enjoy them for free at the beautiful park near by! This place has nothing to offer.

Excellent cuisine and the atmosphere is very cozy. With a view of the lake that is truly amazing. Of course, you don't get this quality and the sea view for free. Service was impeccable and we really enjoyed the evening. Many thanks to the whole team.

Very good for dinner but even better for lunch - a price/performance ratio that you hardly see for a good lunch around Lake Zurich. We'd love to come back every week :-)
