Chez Philippe in Genève

In my top list of restaurants in Geneva, it’s always a pleasure to return.

Very good restaurant specializing in charcoal grilled meats, very well made starters such as the tuna and avocat tartare, an explosion of flavors in the mouth, foie gras. same level for meats in terms of taste. The surprise of the night was tasting an excellent fish ceviche, especially if the latter reminds you of your origins. I recommend all lovers of good gastronomy to visit this establishment that will know how to please the most demanding palates.

I like my salad and my lobster soup They were delicious my steak is perfectly cooked ,very good atmosphere in the restaurant Buy my husband’s chicken were not cooked inside and the end we mentioned to them they told us that we should tell them at beginning …they could change… Yes,we should have said that at beginning but when beginning he were at part was cooked After we talked a lot and not pay attention too much for food It’s place close bone was not cooked the it was the end we found it Finally we were not really hungry I don’t like too much this experience

The meat was great. Prices full of ramen. Unfortunately I had to wait half an hour for a coke and they don't even know what Rivella is. Then the toilets are dirty and smelly. Overall, quite okay for Geneva.

I just have one word to go there, really nice experience, I had a view of the kitchen I saw all these magnificent dishes it made my mouth water🌝 nice setting, attentive waiters.

Just finished our meal. The food was really excellent, we had a lovely meal. However the service was terrible. Firstly, we were not warned that the fish would take at least 40 minutes to prepare, which was a serious error as we had a long wait, that wasn’t explained. Then when the wagyu was cut, the server cut 220g instead of 300g and proceeded to give us a slither of 80g to make up the difference, lucky for him we didn’t say anything. The servers were incapable of giving any advice, especially with the sauces. Lastly, the sommelier didn’t know anything about wine, he couldn’t make one suggestion, which when you see the price list is basic. In summary, fantastic quality food let down by terrible service. At 200chf per person, disappointing.

Excellent evening spent, side of beef at the top. The crepes suzette made minutes in front of us for dessert make the evening even more magical! I recommend 100% if you are in Geneva!

I ate a magnificent Portuguese meat called minhota galega and magnificent crepes Suzette

this place was extremely beautiful. Not only was it beautiful but the food was spectacular.

The location and service are excellent. But I found that the dishes were overpriced for the quantity and taste. I should point out, however, that I did not take the meat, it might have been less disappointing.

Very good meal, excellent welcome, we tasted a Caesar salad and a terrine of venison foie gras and chestnut with its little cranberry sauce, a delight, for main course: half a lobster, a marvel, and an extraordinary fillet on the bone and accompaniments to galore and what about the dessert of incredible chocolate profiteroles!!! I recommend to everyone!!! Thanks to the staff

Bar: We arrived 1 hour early, so we decided to stay at the bar and had cocktails and charcuteries. The charcuteries are not listed on the menu but you can ask the crew to prepare you one. 😉 cocktails were really good, well prepared. Very good presentation! Grill: The service staff welcomed us right away, they were really friendly and efficient. Foods were meticulously prepared and delicious, the filet is buttery tender, not watery and tasty. They also have a very fine wine selection. All worth the penny. Overall, a very classy restaurant but not intimidating. A must try, if you like steaks and wine! We will definitely go back again.

Although I found this place is recommended by others my experience was not good Staff were not dealing in a good way with customers - in another word the place manager tells to the client if you do not like why you seat!!! Leave the restaurant!!!! My order was not good - New York Strip and the meat was very hard Not Recommended at all ☹️

The restaurant is not recommended. Service was very bad. As if the waitress had just started working in the restaurant. Unfortunately the food was disappointing (T-Bone Angus) for 2 people. It's a shame if you've paid (a lot) and aren't even full at the end just because the waitress gave us the wrong advice. (The steak in the picture should be enough for 3 people according to the waitress.)

A warm welcome, thank you yasmina... A attentive sommelier, waiters always on the lookout, our glasses never remained empty, very good service, sumptuous cuisine... excellent lobster bisque, nickel pink rack of lamb... Too bad, very noisy atmosphere....very beautiful cellar. THANKS

Very pleasant family time accompanied by very good dishes in a magnificent setting.

The daily menu at 42 CHF was very good. We don't wait, the dishes come together naturally, at the right pace. The staff is friendly and attentive. A nice place.

This is absolutely AMAZING! Before I went, I read reviews about this restaurant and they weren't very good about the service, so don't believe it! The waiters are great , they know everything , starting with the choice of wine and ending with the food . You need to understand that you have come to a gourmet restaurant and , by definition, there can be no quick service here , because you have to get enough food and wine .

Came to celebrate a birthday, the service was catastrophic. Bland food nothing more. Excessive price for nothing.

*Probably the worst costumer service I have received in Europe* We got sat to a table for two by a window with a really strong cold draft. When the server arrived to the table, nothing but a : »are you ready to order » (To be noted we both spoke French) Appetizers: Shrimp cocktail was great, tasty shrimps and the sauce was good also. The liver Paté was good but presentation was extremely basic, almost made to simply have it served fast. Main course: Filet with fries: the filet was plated very … lonely to say the least. Just a piece of meat in the middle of the plate , the garnish and sauce were placed on the table just beside. Rack of lamb: Similar basic presentation. Problem happened when, once ordered rare it came out well done. Not a single follow up was done to check on how the meals were. At the very end I ended up bringing it up to the server in a very simple way. He was extremely defensive, not a single apology. Another server came around to tell me that yes, they do not do table follow up but I should have gotten their attention. Considering how he reacted to a comment I wonder how he would have reacted if I would have asked to change the plate. Dessert: Chocolate mousse for two, toast was great but presentation once again was super basic, which was a turn off on the plate it self. Mistakes happen, and that is ok. How they are managed shows the integrity of the establishment.

Very beautiful restaurant that you wouldn't suspect from the outside. The meat is excellent, the side dishes original and the desserts succulent. The wine list is exceptional. A very nice address that invites you to come back.

Poor quality service with few customers. Good hamburgers but poorly presented (burgers lost in the middle of the plate). Also requested without sauce because allergic to eggs and received the hamburger with egg sauce on the side!!!

The service is friendly and fast and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and laid-back but still great for a business setting. The food was ok but nothing extraordinary.

This restaurant was highly recommended. We though were not overly impressed with our food. The lobster bisque was slightly burned and not well done. My fish was reasonably flavourless though cooked well. The desert however was very good. I wouldn't rush back.

I'm mixed... Very good meats (still happy, given the prices). Good side dishes but ridiculous quantity. Excellent desserts (profiteroles) Efficient and friendly service. Overall, this remains far too expensive compared to other quality steakhouses, including in Geneva. It's expensive just to eat in a P. Chevrier restaurant.

Really excellent food, the welcome was good, we ate downstairs. Small downside, the music was a little loud during the meal.

Popular location with good service. Classic dishes and sometimes a little disappointing.

Went there as family. Two things to complain; 1) Steaks were all burned on the outside. 2) one of the waiter dropped a clean knife on the floor. He put that back on the service table. And another waiter put that dirty knife into the clean knife drawer. I warned the manager, and he asked the waiter to take all knifes back to the kitchen, which i appreciate. Otherwise, few people would have eaten whatever dirt was on that floor. Still i am not sure if it was an unfortunate mistake or an attitude. Just be careful and watch the waiters! İf you go there.

Hello, I came on Tuesday 06/20/23 to have lunch in your restaurant. During a service, a waiter accidentally spilled melted chocolate on my suit. He proactively offered to reimburse me for the dry cleaning which I appreciated. Following the sending of the invoice on 07/11/23, I was confirmed that payment would be made as soon as possible. To this day, I am awaiting payment of this invoice. Finally, I sent a new email on 10/19/23 which received no response. I particularly liked the initial reaction; proposing and not doing it is also disturbing. Regretting having to carry out the administrative follow-up on your behalf, I send you my cordial greetings.

Did not have high expectation on Switzerland’s food due to my preference to Asian fold. But this restaurant was definitely worth my review. Ordered the Pork, Veal, and Chocolate Mousse. All delicious. Staff were friendly as well. Would definitely come back if I have the chance.

Well, if you’re after a fancy vegan place with budget prices, this is probably going to be a wrong choice for your. But if you’re looking for a small menu of mainly meat and some fish dishes, this is THE place to go to in Geneva. A decent lunch will cost you approximately CHF 100 per person.

I always like to go back to this excellent restaurant. If you like the meat is a must. They have different cuts. Also the veggie are really tasty. Important wine list and nice service. Enjoy.

A restaurant on two levels, the ground floor with the brasserie and the upper floor with the semi-gastronomic part! The food and drinks as well as the service are quality. With a beautiful wine cellar, I have booked several times for birthdays! Always a nice moment.

The prime rib and the T-bone are not worth their price. Indeed, we shared a side of beef for three (normally for 2) before planning some marrow bones (excellent) to calm our appetite. after 30 minutes of waiting, as indicated on the menu, the waiter brought us our prime rib, my friends and I looked at each other and immediately understood that this would not be enough. So after finishing our prime rib we decided to order a t-bone. Being a meat lover I immediately noticed that the meat was poorly cut and that they left a lot of meat on the bone which I had to cut out myself with a knife so the tip was crooked. Even with the T-bone we still weren't satisfied. So we decided to have some rather hearty desserts. Despite the slight problems I encountered, the food remains very good but BE CAREFUL, fingerprints on the cutlery make a very bad first impression!!!

A magnificent place combining well-being and steak house, in a classy brasserie style, the food is simply magnificent, a little expensive for some people but the quality is there. I highly recommend for a magnificent meal with friends or families. I would happily return.

I was there at a work event. Company took us to this place. The foog was really under average. Steak was dry, lobster soup cream was i think out of date. The biggest complain is about the wine. No matter they have a wonderfull winefridge, what they serve is simply below expectations. Sorry for say that, but the wine u served in that night, are like a 1-2 euro cost in hungary and greece./ bottle.... U should do this better, u shoudnt ruin ur fancyness by this things.

Overpriced hyped restaurant in a beautiful location in the centre of Geneva. Food is good without being exceptional but the service is the real problem. The “French” attitude and the nonchalance of the staff is just not acceptable when you pay CHF200+ per person. On a side note, the mousse au chocolat is outstanding

Excellent restaurant in Geneva. The setting is superb, the terrace is really very pleasant and well decorated with plants. Regarding the food, everything is excellent. The butternut velouté starter is a very good way to start the meal. Then, the sirloin steak on the bone was perfectly cooked and went well with the different sauces (green pepper or even smoked paprika butter). The accompaniments are also delicious, including matchstick apples and roasted carrot with ginger. The staff is very friendly and available. Superb experience in this restaurant.

We would like to especially think Axel for his excellent services. He was very attentive to our needs and was always present when needed. He also made sure we really got what we needed at the right time interval. Very professional service.

Quite disappointed for a three Michelin star. The tuna tartare was way too lemony. The pork was really too dry and the onion fritters took over the meats. There was too much spice. For the veal chop and the spinach puree as well as the lobster bisque, nothing to say, it was very good. I am also disappointed with the service, at the end of the meal when we said that the pork was too dry the waiter told us that we should have had a sauce but he should have offered it to us when ordering. After that the quality/price ratio is even more disappointing.

The staff are stepping on each other and we don't really know who to contact. We asked for another meat knife since it didn't cut...5 minutes passed before receiving it...with meat, in the meantime, which is cooling on the plate...If you have finished the wine but you haven't finished your plate, we take the glass away from you! And as soon as you have finished your plate, the plate will be taken away from you! Intolerable ! You have the impression that you are being pushed out... Really very unpleasant!

The service is of course excellent. The setting, we were on the terrace, very nice (not stuffy). Top quality meats. Gold medal with chocolate mousse (for 2).

It is a very beautiful restaurant located in downtown Geneva. The menu comes with premium choices. The cocktails and desserts were really different. Everything was very good but I found the price of some products a little high. Otherwise, nothing to complain about because the service was also impeccable.

For lovers of delicious food, the restaurant is 10/10

The food is lovely just make sure you have a reservation because it's super busy, that is why I gave 4 starts instead of 5 for the service, sometimes it takes longer that usual to get refills of wine. But it has very delicious food, funky deserts and lovely ambiance that is not super crowded small spaces.

I came with my brother and his friends, we had a great time. Very good quality dishes. The service was very good. The Swiss sommelier who took care of us was really excellent, we took the wine: 8 Gamay Merlot from the Cave de la Rose d'Or, a very nice discovery, I hope she will recognize herself when reading the comment.
