Ciani Lugano is an outstanding restaurant! Here the detail matters - not only about food quality but presentation as well! Location is great - absolute Lugano downtown, almost at the lake in Parco Ciani! Staff is very professional and friendly! Food is extremely delicious! While some might argue on the very high prices, it is definitely worth the experience.

Excellent business lunch, nice environment

Almost everything good: the kitchen, the staff, the location. A beautiful and spacious restaurant where eating could be a party. The dishes without frills, pure and excellent in taste, the same with the wine. The staff operated at a high level of cleanliness and service. What is lacking is the atmosphere, which is too formal to stiff for us.

Very good experience with personalized and attentive service. Excellent menu and cozy terrace. When the insects showed up at the end of the evening, we were kindly invited to change tables and coffees (as well as a bottle of mineral water) were offered to us to apologize for the inconvenience.

In the center of Lugano, close to the Ciani park, this restaurant offers excellent aperitifs and excellent dinners masterfully prepared by the chef. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, the cellar a jewel of quality and supply. Price appropriate for the place.

quick service very friendly staff

We had a reservation and were looking forward to the excellent food. The service was quite "confused" and chaotic. We had 5 different waiters and had to constantly explain to each one of them what we had already explained to someone else (bread yes/no, orders, etc.). For new drinks you had to actively wave the service staff over and ask for them. Directly behind our table was the open kitchen, where the waiters kept meeting and playing with their cell phones. A waiter there constantly wiped his nose with his fingers without at least turning away without washing his hands afterwards. The food was OKAY. The octopus was good, the meat I had (piglet) was streaked with fat, the "crust" looked nice, but was just a browned layer of fat, far from crispy and therefore inedible. Gaultmillau should quickly reconsider the rating of this restaurant. It doesn't reflect well on the institution when restaurants with such obvious shortcomings receive such awards.

Friendly service, excellent food

I celebrated a family ceremony, spectacular location, excellent room service, top cuisine! Sincere compliments to Chef Loris and also to sommelier Savino. Perfect lunch.

Food was relatively good, except for 1 starter (no taste) and 1 dessert (cold, although it should have been warm). Service was very poor and not attentive. There were 8 of us and one main course was completely forgotten. There was a short: Sorry, it's coming in 2-3 minutes. By the time it was finally served (about 20 minutes later!!), everyone was already finished.

Opportunity for a corporate event to dine in this restaurant. The place is very welcoming, with simple furnishings and adequate spaces. Friendly and attentive staff. Service with excellent times. The quality/price ratio is also good with excellently made dishes. The reduced price was much appreciated, but the second courses were also very good. Certainly ideal for similar events.

As a good Lugano native, I have often been to Ciani. Ciani had found its sunshine again under Serge's management, then had a couple of years of negative trend in which the service was truly disappointing. But.... Last Saturday we celebrated a wonderful birthday and I changed my mind. Excellent food, impeccable service, very friendly and professional staff. One of the few times in which we see that the reins of the place have been recovered! Well done, I'll be back

I recently went to dinner and everything was fine with polite staff, until the card payment had an error and all of a sudden the older waiter completely changed his attitude by staring at me in an unprofessional manner and starting to allow himself to call me "you" in arrogant tones. I immediately politely communicated to proceed with the withdrawal at the nearest ATM without any problem but the reaction was extremely rude and unprofessional, I am lucky enough not to have money problems but I certainly know from now on where I will not go to spend it. Embarrassing.

Spectacular, as well as being a beautiful place, strategic location and terrace very close to Ciani park, the food is divine, excellent service and friendly staff. To return

IT WAS our favorite place in Lugano for aperitifs... since the old service manager no longer works there we have noticed a deterioration in the service and seen with our own eyes a beer being served by slamming it on the table with the consequent exit of the same or a cold welcome without even a greeting.

I give the 5 stars to the service, compliments to the Sicilian waiter, a great professional, the cuisine is of great quality, I am always satisfied when I enter this place, congratulations to all the staff

Sincerely 5 stars for location, next to Ciani park, well structured, parking 2 steps away as well as along the lake. Menu, 4-star service. Unfortunately, the waiting time from ordering, 1 hour, is too long, also because we only took standard items from the menu, including cold ones, ham, melon, summer salad, tartare... 1 Star

Very beautiful restaurant with excellent cuisine. My compliment to the chef! So far, it was the best black angus steak in my life, so juicy and perfectly salted. The waiters didn't speak much English or German, but they were friendly and attentive to us. The atmosphere is cosy, relaxing and quiet, not overcrowded, a lot of space between the tables and it is easy to keep your intimacy. The service was quite fast though there were many other guests. The quality trully matches the price. Definitely worth visiting.

A magnificent non-alcoholic strawberry mojito on a terrace in the sun. The interior promises great evenings, the bar is very stylish, you will have to come back and taste the cuisine.

Exactly inside the Ciani Park in Lugano, we find the Ciani restaurant. Due to the current covid restrictions it was possible to consume outside in the small space close to the border with the park. If you are looking for a secluded and classy place, this is the right place, especially in the evening surrounded by greenery and the surrounding landscape. Reservation recommended ahead of time. Parking available in the municipal garage a stone's throw away.

Delicious food and kind service. We were pleasantly surprised by the portions for a fancy restaurant.

For 15 points that are very modest, the only thing that was pleasant was the greeting from the kitchen, the risotto was very chewy, the tartare was served without onions and butter, it's a shame it's bad for the eyes and the wine that was served was poured but I I would have liked to know what I drank for 8.50 FR. It's a shame for the lovely day we had.

What to say. We went here for a first communion and confirmation lunch. We had a really good time, attentive and friendly staff, excellent cuisine! I highly recommend.

Planned to have dinner here with my husband. The photos looked lovely so I thought sitting outside would be nice. Sadly they seated us right in the far corner near where stuff is stored no where near anyone else, even though I had booked. I asked for a cocktail and was informed that there was no barman, at 7.30pm, on a Saturday night..I asked to move to the bar area. They let us move. The music unfortunately was just awful. It was some 90s car radio music that you find yourself having to listen to on a taxi journey and it really didn't compliment the lovely hip space outside. The waiter then said I could have a cocktail. It was badly made and I think that they had just thrown it together themselves. My husbands beer was much smaller than it said on the menu, but they still charged us the same price for it even though it was wrongly listed. We left asap and went somewhere with good music and a working barman.

We went to the most famous location in Lugano, in the restaurant the food was really good but for the aperitif if I had to give a rating I would give it less than zero because in 2021 you can't expect chips, peanuts and olives from chef RANZA in a truly space location. as beautiful as Ciani, given that chef RANZA's dinner was truly super!

After making a reservation, they somehow pushed a table together for us when we arrived. After this bad start, there was a 30 minute wait for service (only when called again). As a result, many customers who looked rather wealthy were preferred. For such an "upscale" service you would at least have to be able to offer English as an alternative language. The actual reservation was for dinner, instead we were only allowed to “enjoy” a quick drink Conclusion: Not everything that glitters is made of gold!

The food was good but nothing special. Nice location but the service was unattentive and cold, we mentioned my birthday 3 times and they ignored it. For the wine we waited 20 minutes while our food was getting cold.

Wer gut essen will in einem gemütlichen Ambiente, muss unbedingt dahin! - Service: Erstklassig, da arbeiten Leute die das gern machen und über entsprechende Kompetenz verfügen - Sommeliere: Top, Wein -Empfehlungen {und Auswahl grundsätzlich) ist top, war wunderbar - Ambiente: Man kann problemlos draussen geniessen, innen edel und stylisch - Küche: Einfach nur gradios, wirklich hervorragend was man da serviert bekommt! Jeder Teller eim Hochgenuss, wobei Preis/Leistung absolut stimmt und fair ist! Fazit: Bitte nicht verpassen, statt irgend ein Resti im Zentrum zu besuchen sollte man sich lieber die wundetbare Küche von Ciani gönnen! Bestens investiertes Geld in gemütlicher Atmosphäre! Da spürt man, dass diese Leute lieben was sie tun!

Dieses Restaurant besuchten wir für einen Apero. Der Flaschentempel ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes riesig! Das Angebot isch super vielseitig. Wir entschieden uns für drei verschiedene Gin mit zwei verschiedenen Tonic. Wir wurden super beraten und durften alles fragen - auch deutschsprachig. Das Apero-Plättli wurde gratis serviert, herrlich!

Menù curato ed originale: spazia da piatto della tradizione, rivisitati, a proposte innovative, ma Sempre equilibrate. Si nota lo studio e la ricerca dietro le proposte.Locale elegante, ma sobrio, accogliente, con atmosfera glamour. Semplicemente perfetta Stefania: professionale, sorridente, elegantissima, ma ,allo stesso tempo, cordiale, disponibile, pronta ad accontentare ogni richiesta. La sua bellezza raffinata è il biglietto da visita e l' immagine del ristorante.

Sono stato a pranzo in questo bellissimo locale.. accoglienza molto professionale e carismatica da parte della Sig.ra Stefania e ottimi piatti che hanno deliziato il mio palato da parte del grande chef Dario Danza. Ci ritornerò e lo consiglio vivamente .

Das Restaurant liegt im Parco Ciani, im Sommer isst man auf einer ruhigen Terrasse. Die Küche ist sehr kreativ und fantastisch gut, das Dessert mit weisser Schokolade blieb mir noch lange in Erinnerung. Wir wurden perfekt betreut durch eine französisch sprechende Mitarbeiterin. Wir kommen wieder!

Avevo chiesto espressamente un tavolo grande per un pranzo di lavoro con 5 persone. Purtroppo il tavolo era piccolo ed ho dovuto chiedere di aggiungerne un altro per permettere il distanziamento sociale. I piatti sono sempre ben presentati e gustosi, I prodotti di qualità. ... solo qualche piccola attenzione in più...

Ci sono andato più volte sia a pranzo, per impegni di lavoro, sia a cena con amici.Nella prima situazione, proprio non ci siamo. Ferma la buona realizzazione dei piatti il servizio a tavola, escludendo il sommelier sempre professionale e propositivo, la disorganizzazione regna sovrana.Arrivano i piatti e manca l’acqua in tavola, le portate (siamo in 3 non in 30) vengono servite errate, si propongono dessert porgendo la lista ristretta del menu (dove i dessert non ci sono) e nell’attesa arriva un altro cameriere a chiedere se volevamo il caffè ... in realtà aspettavamo la lista dessert!!Regna il panico nel servizio... non sarà paura di perdere il posto ? Il titolare esercita troppa pressione sui dipendenti? O più semplicemente non li sa condurre o peggio scegliere?Peccato. In questa occasione, deludente. Era un pranzo di lavoro ed uscire con un certo imbarazzo, da fastidio.Ho già dato... per un po’ sceglierò altro.Data dell'esperienza: novembre 2020

Zuerst das Positive: Freundlicher Empfang. Stilvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit einem sehr schönen Ambiente. Alles andere hat uns an diesem Abend leider überhaupt nicht überzeugt. Der Service ist sehr unaufmerksam und schlichtweg nicht vorhanden. Hier darf man mit Wasser statt mit einem Aperitif anstossen. Der Kellner war verschwunden, bevor wir einen Apéro bestellen konnten. Die nächsten 10 Minuten wurden wir ignoriert. Die Weinkarte bekommt man auch nur nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen. Nach einer weiteren 1/2 Std. Wartezeit durften wir dann endlich die Essensbestellung aufgeben. Das Restaurant war an diesem Abend gut besucht, aber nicht ausgebucht. Die Vorspeise, dasTrüffelrisotto war so was von wässrig, geschmacklos und fade und Trüffel war auch kaum vorhanden, dies bei einem doch stolzen Preis von 44.- . Der Hauptgang, das Tatar, war ganz ok, mehr aber auch nicht. Gerne hätten wir zum Abschluss noch ein Dessert bestellt. Dazu kam es jedoch nicht,. Unsere Dessertkarten wurden einfach von einem Kellner, welcher wir an diesem Abend noch nie an unserem Tisch gesehen haben, eingesammelt und mitgenommen, eine Bestellung konnten wir nicht aufgeben. Immerhin konnten wir nach weiteren 10 Minuten noch vier Espressi bei „unserem“ Kellner bestellen. Diese Bestellung ist jedoch untergegangen und die Espressi haben wir nicht bekommen. Wir haben übrigens das Servicepersonal informiert, dass wir nicht zufrieden sind, aber das scheint hier niemanden zu interessieren. Schade, aber das passt zu unserem Gesamteindruck vom Restaurant. Unser Fazit: Die fast CHF 500.- (4 Personen) fürs Abendessen hätten wir lieber in einem anderen Restaurant ausgegeben.
