City Gastro Concepta in Zürich

A bit carelessly furnished. Service friendly. Coffee too hot and little taste. But the worst thing is that anyone sitting inside constantly hears the ventilation because of the fumuar and the whole restaurant smells of cigarette smoke because the dividing door to the fumuar is constantly opening and closing.

Rarely have I seen something so loveless. Wanted to go out for dessert on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is called “Dolce” and they attract customers online with fine crepes. When we arrived the cafe was empty (should have been a warning to me). We were told that today there would only be pizzas. At 3 p.m. in the afternoon… no piece of cake, nothing but pizza. “Dolce” is different.

The personal was really nice and polite. I only stopped for a coffee so I don't know about the food. However within the coffee they have a smoking area, which is open by an electric door, every time someone opens it the smoke goes into the non-smoking area. It gave me a headache. Would not recommend if you're a non smoker.

Freshly renovated, friendly and pleasant.

I'm just sitting here drinking black tea for the first time. A large cup for 4.10, that's a very fair price, considering that in Zurich you sometimes pay 6.50 for a cup of tea. The blonde lady in service is very friendly. And the women's toilet has everything a woman needs, from hair mousse to hand cream, sanitary towels, even snack bags

We just came for drinks and were unfairly charged. When I tried to explain, they would not listen. They have permanently lost my business. Bad service, not recommended.

I just ate a crepe here, it was bland and served on a plate that wasn't really clean. Lukewarm, mushroom straight from the can, extremely bland and just no joy to eat for almost 15.00fr. Oh yes, the serving lady knew exactly why no one asked if it was tasty.

Nice but slow and inefficient service. The table next to us remained dirty, even though she walked past it empty-handed about 10 times. Our Coupe Denmark turned out to be a glass with 2 scoops of ice cream with a little bit of cold chocolate sauce. For 12.90. When we complained that the Coupe was showing three balls on the map, we got the third ball after a few minutes. Of course without any additional chocolate sauce. The ice cream itself was ok. Nevertheless: If the correct ice cream is only served after a complaint, you feel a little ripped off and the question of how many others have 'succeeded' in this definitely comes up. Price/performance was definitely not right. The floor was littered with dirt, dingy, cigarettes, paper, coffee cream containers…. We won't be coming back.

Simple café, restaurant otherwise nothing special. Apple strudel served with vanilla sauce but both were cold. In other words, I've eaten better.

We wanted to eat something and a mixed salad. We got a piadina, but there was no salad. We wanted ice cream for dessert, but it wasn't available. Finally, there was an error in the billing. I felt sorry for the employee. She was solely responsible for everything and at lunchtime.

The bistro has almost historical charm with their 70ies-looking interior, guests are mostly elderly people. The coffee was really good (5/5.. bug no milk alternative). The staff is friendly and helpful. We did have the scrambled eggs, which were okayish, the bread was fresh but not that special. The Crêpes were really good! If you look for a priceless bistro to quickly eat - I would recommend the Dolce City.

Friendly service serves guests inside and, when the weather is nice, outside. A Café Créme costs CHF 4.50 and is of good quality. There is a well-used smoking room inside where guests are allowed to smoke. I can't write anything about cakes and warm dishes yet. All in all, an enrichment for Oerlikon.

It probably wants to be modern, but it's bare and styleless. In my opinion not a successful conversion.

The Cafè City in Oerlikon is very centrally located and offers a non-smoking and a smoking area as well as numerous newspapers and magazines for you to relax in. The outside area offers faux fur and blankets on cooler days - very thoughtful!

Stay away in times of Covid-19! Stopped there about a week ago for coffee and croissants (4 people plus baby). The croissants are transported from table to table in baskets - without them being exchanged! In other words, even if you don't take one, they are about 30cm in front of your nose. If someone coughs, sneezes or even exhales heavily and has Covid, you have a problem. We spoke to the waitress who said to use a napkin to put it down. I still wonder to what extent this is supposed to protect. Conveniently, the manager we asked wasn't in the house, or at least that's what we were told. Conclusion: A real danger in Corona times!

I eat breakfast in this cafe every day.

Very nice area and good food, prices but too expensive and when I asked to pay with a 50 euro note the nice lady said it wasn't possible, even though the receipts said how much it would cost in euros. (Of course cheaper in euros) When I asked a man (who works there) to pay in euros, he told me the rate would be exactly the same. Not recommendable.

Coffee cup had lipstick marks on it, coffee spoon still had coffee stains, coffee was generally disappointing. The ham and cheese toast took at least 20 minutes after everything else had already been served and was already cold when it finally arrived. The muesli was far too sour and no longer fresh. Generally very bad and not recommended.

Absolutely bad & unfriendly service. Brought orders wrong, dirty water bottle and unfriendly tone. Crepe & banana split were moderately good. When I asked about the price, my friend simply slammed the card onto the table in front of her face with the sentence “Show me where you saw that.” Absolutely not recommended 👎🏻

Unfortunately very disappointing. The service was very unfriendly and seemed stressed. The crepe was already cold when it was served and it wasn't particularly tasty either.

Da ich in der Nähe arbeite, besuchte ich auch sporadisch immer wieder mal dieses Restaurant. Kein High-Light, aber solider Durchschnitt. Heute wasr ich ebenfalls wieder da und musste beim Bezahlen feststellen, dass "der Chef entschieden habe, keine Lunch-Checks mehr zu akzeptieren". Ok, für mich also der letzte Besuch!

Wij zijn hier wat wezen drinken als tussenstop voor het restaurant waar we voor gereserveerd hadden verderop. Bediening was zeer onvriendelijk en bot. Daarbij voor 2 cola 10 chf!!!! Voelde haast als oplichterij. Qua locatie namelijk ook niet bijzonder, licht in een tussenstraatje bij Oerlikon. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar!

My favorite bistro in Zurich Oerlikon

Gut für Kaffe und Gipfeli am Samstagmorgen nach dem Gemüsemarkt in der Nähe. Die Cafeteria bietet auch ein kleines Speisenangebot zu moderaten Peisen an. Es gibt offenes Bier.

Sehr zentrale Lage und super Bedienung. Mit dem Essen war ich nicht so zufrieden aber für einen Kaffee im Fumoir bestens geeignet.

Nach dem spontanen Besuch auf ein Abendessen mit einer Freundin wurde uns mal wieder schmerzlich bewusst, dass manch Gastronomen sich besser ein anderer Beruf ausgwählt hätten. Der (nett ausgedrückt) unhöfliche Herr, der im Service arbeitete (seit angeblich 6 Jahren) kannte die Karte selbst nich richtig, die Deklaration der Speisen auf der Karte ist fraglich (weil die Vorstellung des Essens überhaupt nicht mit dem übereinstimmt, was man bekommt) und zum Schluss hat man noch 20 Minuten gewartet bis man nach mehrmaliger Aufforderung endlich zahlen kann. (Andere Gäste aber dazwischen geschoben werden..)Meine Freundin und ich haben beide keine hohen Ansprüche und sind generell unkompliziert. Trotzdem arbeiten wir selber in der Gastronomie und dieses Cafe ist weit weg von dem, wie es sein sollte. Sowas haben wir beide noch nie erlebt. Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass sich nicht viele Touristen in dieser Ecke verirren, sie würden wohl nicht den besten Eindruck der Schweizer Gastronomie bekommen.Einziges Plus: Die Preise sind total günstig!Jedoch waren wir uns einig; lieber werden wir freundlich bedient und fühlen uns willkommen, dafür sind die Kosten etwas höher.Der Besuch bleibt auf jeden Fall in Erinnerung...

Servicepersonal sollte vlt mal an einer Serviceschulung teilnehmen. War seher enttäucht. Ist zwar günstig, aber gut ist relativ.

Wir gehen immer gerne in das Café City. Hier bekommt man einen anständigen Kaffee zu einem fairen Preis und die Gipfeli gehören zu den besten, die wir jemals gegessen haben. Die Kellnerin Vicky und der Kellner Miro sind aufmerksam und freundlich, selbst wenn das Lokal proppenvoll ist. Tageszeitungen sind verfügbar und wer rauchen möchte, kann dies im Fumoir tun. Die Deko ist zwar gewöhnungsbedürftig (Kronleuchter, Gemälde-Reproduktionen von alten Meistern und Fernseher in vergoldeten Rahmen), aber irgendwie stimmig. Es gibt eine sehr gemischte Kundschaft: Von Büezer bis zum Nationalrat fühlen sich die Gäste hier wohl. Kein Wunder gibt es viele Stammgäste. Obwohl es sich hier nicht primär um ein Restaurant handelt, sind die traditionellen Gerichte (Ghackets mit Hörnli, Älplermagronen etc.) durchaus in Ordnung.

Wir halten Sie mit ein paar Freunden, die nicht Deutsch und fanden die Kellner sehr hilfsbereit.Es gibt ein Raucherzimmer, das war auch sehr gut abgedichtet. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder zurückkehren, wenn in Oerlikon zu probieren Sie einige Essen, unsere Freunde hatten und man sagte uns, dass es Crepes waren lecker.

das crepe war kalt, mit billiigem schmelzkäse und gebratenem , aber kaltem schinken, rundherum mit mayonnaise garnaiert? auch wurde für das salzige crepe ein teig genommen der eigentlich für süsse crepes passt! entweder man weiss wie man ein crepe macht oder man lässt es sein!

We had breakfast here and loved it so much we returned for dinner. For breakfast we had a simple ham and cheese on toast. It was very cheesy and good. We topped it off with the best hot chocolate ever! For dinner, my wife had spaghetti bolognese, while my daughter and I shared pizza Margherita. All was excellent! The service was some of the best we had while in Switzerland. Everything was reasonably priced for Switzerland. I definitely recommend this great spot!

Cafeteria City is located in Oerlikons’ town center reachable with many options by public transit. There is a nice seating arrangement with marble tables and green padded chairs and a separate enclosed smoking/dining room. There is also a large sidewalk seating area for some good people watching. There were no menus on the tables on the morning of my visit, though they do serve pizza, pasta and desserts amongst other items for lunch and dinner. I simply had a hot tea 4.50CHF. Most other customers were having the house made bread with jam and/or coffee/espresso and general conversation was being had amongst the regulars.The service was efficient, though not too friendly. There are many newspapers, magazines and all of the breakfast tables have a basket of croissants laid out. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. They offer a large TV on the wall, but no Wi-Fi.

Loved their rösti bratwurst (traditional Swiss dish). The place seemed full of Swiss pensioners, but I take it as a good sign, because until I entered inside, it gave me a vibe of typical tourist trap. I was positively surprised by the quality and variety of their dishes. My friend ordered a chocolate crepe and it was devilishly yummy.

Café bem localizado, no centro da cidade, delicioso. O ambiente é muito bom e o atendimento bem legal. Gostei muito.

Has a very nice "American Diner" feel to it. Conveniently located across from Oerlikon train station and carries a wide selection of burgers, fries, and shakes.

Das Essen ist überraschend gut und für Zürich wirklich günstig. (Sehr empfehlenswert: Für 15 Franken: Piccata Milanese mit Spaghetti). Geräumiges Fumoir vorhanden. Lebendige, lockere Atmosphäre, nicht typisch für Zürich. Bedienung sehr freundlich.

"Cafe City" tönt fast weltstädtisch. Es ist einerseits ein Cafe, anderseits kann aber auch gegessen werden: Täglich Tagesteller, meist der gutbürgerlichen Art, zu vernünftigen Preisen und wohlschmeckend. Daneben auch warme und kalte Speisen, Tagessuppen ebenfalls. Die Bedienung ist speditiv, manchmal etwas unter Stress. Für die wärmere Jahreszeit wird rausgestuhlt, in der Zwischensaison die Stühle mit Schaffellen belegt.Neu ist der Fumoir, durch Glaswand und Schiebetüre abgetrennt vom übrigen Teil. Dieser "Einrichrung wird fleissig zugesprochen, vor allem von einer Klientele aus dem Balkan.
