Collana in Zürich

The place closes at 10pm but upon entering the waiter with great rudeness and arrogance made us leave at 9.45pm..

I really enjoy being a guest at Collana for an aperitif after work. But after 1 espresso and 3 glasses of Roero Arneis, I have to argue with the waiter about the size of the glass of "cock water" I ordered - really???? He says "our place our rules" A pity! I've been a restaurateur myself for 40 years, but different "rules" apply to me...

Unfriendly staff. We ordered churros with Nutella (paid extra for Nutella) but it was only a hot chocolate so no Nutella and plus a very small drop of chocolate.

Nice spot. Unfortunately, I waited a long time to place an order and then received a rare, loveless Lillet Spritz. No ice and instead of raspberries there were only broken raspberry crumbs in the glass. A pity.

Always friendly, good and prompt for an aperitif...

Nice bar, which is located directly on Sechselüteplatz, not far from and within sight of the opera. The staff was very friendly and even offered us a bruschetta platter, which also tasted very good. We were in the bar on a Friday evening. It was busy, but after a few minutes all 4 of us had a place at the bar.

Very very unfriendly with tourists customers. The waiteress is nasty! Extremely rude and very aggressive. She is very hostile. Not sure why is she even working as a server when she barely has any manners with customers. From the reviews here, it seems I am not the only customer who suffered from this waitress's attitude. Not sure why are they still keeping her and why they keep responding to the reviews by saying that they care about their customers when they don't seem to do anything about it but write a tailored response to every review when in reality their server is extremely rude and doesn't stop it with most customers. The manager has zero customer service and rude. He didn't even care when I gave him my feedback about how hostile and rude his server is. He obviously doesn't care about customers. Don't waste your money or time. They are very rude. Just Terrible! Stay away at all costs.

A truly delightful and welcoming café, it stands out as one of my favorite spots in Zurich, especially during the winter, for soaking up Vitamin D. The staff, reflecting the diversity of the vibrant city of Zurich, is exceptionally friendly and efficient. The cakes and pastries are incredibly delicious, and they even offer champagne! On sunny days, especially Saturdays, I love to be here, enjoying delightful treats while reading the newspaper.

Relatively expensive, a long walk (through the cold) to a not exactly clean toilet...

This place is overpriced even by Zurich standards! CHF18.50 for 3 small triangles of low-quality white toast with a thin layer of avocado mash (around a quarter of an avo I’d say), with a pathetic little mound of salmon on top. And CHF8 for an orange juice. Never again, even though it’s a nice room and atmosphere!!

I like going to Collana because it's a nice bar and the service is very friendly. The drinks are fine, the aperitif plate is very fine.

During christmas time, the waiters are rude not allowing to sit inside with ordering tea. The waiters need to be educated well! The nastiest place ive seen!

The food is good and the service is very friendly. The menu and staff could use a little more training in vegan food. Veggie is not the same as vegan. It would be great if the menu made it easier to see what vegan options were available, aside from the Pepito.

We were at Collana on November 11th because we knew there was a Gugge there. The service was very nice, the food was nothing spectacular (some of the fries were barely cooked through) and the music was definitely rather loud, even for a bar. Since we came for the Gugge, we didn't think much of it and were looking forward to a serenade after dinner. It was too early for us to be happy because they were forbidden from playing, even though other guests were also in favor of it. It's a shame, but good to know.

Very pleasant environment, very good service. Even if you don't know the language, the service staff will do their best to make you feel comfortable. I liked everything. I advise everyone to visit this establishment.

It was that beautiful Sunday afternoon. The place was full and pleasantly organized. The service was amazingly fast, even when the restaurant was full, the amazing waitress with the curly hair, beautiful smile with a warm welcoming personality, we had the cold plate antipasto the mix was very rich we loved it,we will definitely visit again, smiles

Nice place but with many negative aspects. The service was discreet, we didn't wait long for the dishes which were also tiny portions and it seemed like we were having breakfast and not lunch, we paid an absurd price in total. After payment we didn't even receive the receipt. A place that I highly advise against.

Great location and a beautiful view. There are 5 points for this. The cappuccino is very expensive even for the location. (I'm a restaurateur myself). And the quality delivered was rather average. And for someone who is a barista himself, the price is not fair. Unfortunately, the service was also unmotivated to sell me anything. Were there for about 2 hours. The coffee was brought to me but no one ever asked if we would like anything else. For me, that's just part of the job. There are now robots to bring me coffee. If the service had been good and the price of a good hotel had been advertised, I would have understood the prices. It's a shame that the employees here aren't trained.

As a regular guest for many years, I would like to express my utmost satisfaction here today! A friendly and courteous Collana team is waiting for me every morning, warmly greeting me and serving me! A generous reservation has been made for my two Maltese dogs and me from 11 a.m. and we experience every day what it means: “The guest is king!” The Collana team is very motivated and well-positioned under friendly and competent leadership, today under Mr. Nicolas Kohler as much as possible for the guest! The coffee with the homemade croissants are unsurpassedly delicious and the food is a poem! I am very happy and satisfied to be able to start my day in my beloved COLLANA, in this lively oasis! Thank you very much for this piece of quality of life!

Everything is okay but just too expensive, not suitable for every budget, on Sechseläutenplatz. Tourist place. Great location, but really nothing special, rather disappointing and mostly completely overcrowded. Price performance not good, just too expensive.

Was at Collana for breakfast on Sunday. Was served very friendly by a pretty woman with long black curly hair. I was thrilled by excellent coffee with a glass of water and freshly baked croissants, as well as the charming smile of the service employee who they called Miki.

We went for a drink last night. the restaurant is in a good location near the opera house. We asked a man with white hair what the password for the toilet was, he answered a meadow which unfortunately we couldn't understand and when we tried to ask him again he just ran away. He was very unmotivated and unfriendly. Will never go there again!

Actually a nice place at the opera. It's Sunday and guests at 8:10 p.m. are no longer allowed in, with the comment that it will close soon. Therefore only 2 stars. Staff seems stressed.

The food isn't particularly good, but it's not particularly bad either. The coffee is a disaster. The service (lady with strong curls) was prompt but unfriendly.6

Let's start with the positive part. Good location, good selection of drinks, great lively atmosphere on the square. Negative part: Waited 12.5 minutes. The employee had no smile, no greeting on her lips, which is what I'm more used to from McD. Waited 6 minutes for our drinks. I ordered a “Dark and Dirty”, almost no alcohol, more like lemonade. My experience was rather mixed. Don't say I wouldn't come back, but never say never.

One star just for the service, but the food isn’t good and the prices for 2 small pancakes 13chf and it has never been so delicious

Hello everyone , basically I came yesterday 1 of August In this cool place to have a drink with a friend of mine ...it was really busy and while we were waiting to be served a member of the staff came my way and silently said "get out of the way MF " , thinking I wouldn't hear him or maybe thinking I couldn't speak English .... when I asked him why he said that and that he cannot speak in a rude way like that he said " don't talk to me I'm busy " , maybe because he didn't expect I was gonna confront him for what he said .... anyway I also work in the hospitality and I know how stressful it can be for workers , but they cannot disrespect customers like that .... I haven't done anything but waiting to be served ... at the end my friends and I left this cool place with horrible staff .....( I deleted the picture as you say but still left the review )

I sat at the table for 10 minutes and wasn't served. The cafe isn't even at full capacity. went to the bar and wanted to order something and was told at the table. I said I'd wait 10 minutes and the bartender didn't care Never come back.

We booked in Collana for lunch!! We were a big group!! A very friendly girl served us with great long curly hair!! She spoke German, English and Spanish to us, as not everyone in the group spoke German!! waoooo waoooo waoooo a great addition, she was very nice, very quick, very detailed and very attentive!! Everything was very well organized, after the meal she asked us if we wanted to have a coffee and have a dessert! Everything was very good, perfect!! We will be back soon.

One of the waitresses was rude and forced us to buy a drink we didn't order.

I was there on Thursday last week.. and wow.. the one from the service.. his name is Charles.. wonderful and then very attentive and often made me laugh! The snacks and cocktails were also great!!!! I will come more often😍🙏🏼

After the downpour, the “terrace” was prepared within 5 minutes. Afterwards we were served super quickly and very friendly! Thanks to the boss and the friendly waitress with the curls 😎👍 great service! We'd love to come back. The tart and ice cream were also great.

My wife and I came to Zurich from Lucerne on Friday and we had lunch at Caffe Collana. Never in my life have I seen a woman serving almost 60+ people on such a large terrace, she gently walked to the table, ordered the meals, booked the customers and cleaned the tables. The best thing she looked for was customers waiting at the door and when there was a free table she told them "next please." She paid attention to every detail, it was incredible how she moved from one place to another. She went in and in seconds she came out with the drink already on the tray. Me and my wife laughed so much like a little woman and with that curly hair she was so quick and attentive. Prices a bit expensive but like others in the city of Zurich! We will come back

The service you receive is more difficult than expected, if not without a word then with a snippy and unfriendly tone. You have to get the menu yourself, even after asking. There are better things

Food was great and everything was right for the price. The view of the large area was nice, what I wasn't particularly impressed with was that one woman (Chinese) wasn't particularly friendly and was rather unfriendly.

I like very much when they care about details, like handling bread with good hygiene practices and here they do! That tells a lot about the rest of the things that you don't see in a restaurant. Brunch is good, friendly and like the rest of the city, a bit expensive.

Well-located bar, but the prices are very high and the staff is relatively slow and sometimes a bit unfriendly. The drink was also quite watery, even though there was nothing about soda on the menu.

Very nice location, but if you sell orange juice straight from the supermarket as freshly squeezed juice, it's really bottomless. To then hear from the waitress that he has freshly squeezed is absolutely inappropriate. 8.5fr absolutely utopian price. Never again. They definitely make endless sales and then to save on quality and honesty is really pathetic.

In the middle of Zurich, the waiter does not speak English, the deserts are the worst of all we tried so far. You see local people so not so touristic but only a good option for some aperitivo.

Very nice venue right in front of the Opernhaus. They serve good cocktails: it'is a nice place for a drink with friend. It is usually pretty crowded, it's not so easy to find a table at the last minute, by the way you can reserve a table.

We are at the bar, next to the food aisle, after about 2 minutes PEDRO, the waiter, comes to the next table and takes the orders from two people! When I make myself known to order for the two of us, he shouts while running away that we have only just come and should be patient! But not in a friendly way, but with a GET OUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!! The reason for this behavior is always said in secret!!!!! Understood?!

Disappointing! The location and restaurant area is exceptional. The bar menu, not so much. It does have a decent selection of drinks (whiskey, grappa and gin... unfortunately good rum is a bit lacking). For a "bar" at this location I would see a lot more cocktails, unfortunately it only has a handful. But what is by no means acceptable is the waiting time! Although there are still a lot of free places, the first round of drinks took a good 20 minutes. For a second ksm it didn't happen, the waiter never showed up again and we sat dry. Even after several very clear requests, it took another 20 minutes to pay. When asked about this, the waiter said that there were only four of them in service (the restaurant was by no means full)... on a Friday evening... Dear host: For this place in Zurich you have to have either better or more staff. It's really not about the prices! If you as a guest have to put in so much effort to be able to consume something, something is going very wrong!

The high-back piadina at the take away is very finely tuned and crispy. For CHF 11.- it might be a bit bigger...but you still get four points for it.

Excellent location but the worst service you can get for a high price. One of my least favorite places in my neighborhood.
