Confiserie Honold in Zürich

Cappucino tastes like warm UHT milk and nothing else.

Disappointing experience at Honold in Witikon! Premium prices with self-service (!!!!) setup and unfriendly and almost scared staff. Quality of confections overshadowed by lackluster service.

If wages corresponded to the absurdly high prices, perhaps the staff shortage wouldn't be so acute?

The coffee and breakfast were very good. You order at the counter and then it is served. However, the price is very high!

We had to wait too long because the younger sales staff weren't allowed to sell chocolates. This was reserved for the older sales lady She didn't give a reason why he wasn't allowed to do it because he was already serving me anyway

Very unfriendly and the food was very cold. The first ones were finished eating and the last one got their food 👍🏽😅

After almost 2 months, self-service is the order of the day due to current staff shortages. I don't understand why it's going on for so long and there's no solution. There are always 4 staff in the shop, which should be enough, other bakeries don't have much more, if not less. It works perfectly for you but it doesn't work for you... I think it's a disgrace. Your prices have to be top and everything has to work. Ps: Conditions are very slow, it always takes forever...you don't have cane sugar anymore either because it's too expensive. But for us the prices have remained the same and are very expensive for what you offer. Price performance is never right since it is far away from its competitors.

Unbelievable! For a vegetarian salad, served in a disposable container on the terrace, an incredible 20.-SFr. demands......an impudence. Unbelievable!!!!!!

Very reliable team in Witikon. Was unable to pick up an order at the right time and was able to count on the utmost courtesy and flexibility. Always my pleasure!

There was no one in the store. The service took 5 minutes to arrive. The offer is small. The coffee had black crumbs in it. The ambience was uninviting and cold. Not recommendable.

If there are 10 people in the restaurant you wait 15 minutes for a coffee, that's not okay. If you ask the ladies why, they always say they have a different order. The croissants never arrived, they were forgotten behind the tea. 👎👎

I live nearby and always come by. Coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and sweets are fresh and taste good. Unfortunately, the employees (only the ladies!) are often stressed and unfriendly. Sometimes you have to wait quite a long time... It's a shame.

We live in Witikon and this is a very nice place for coffee and croissants!

The hot chocolate and croissants were excellent. Local could have a little more charm. Rather expensive.

A meatloaf sandwich for 13 francs and the cafe creme for 5.50 is definitely too much. A pity

A ginger tea that is served in double quantity in the 4* hotel in Zurich and with honey and lemon wedge Or in the Inn Beiz in Seefeld ditto for 6.50 That is usury in a neighborhood restaurant. This restaurant should be avoided, even if unfortunately it will soon be the last one in the area. Even the white orchids are of no use.

When we go to the lake we always pass by here, either before or after..... To delight our palates.

Extremely unfriendly service with a primitive Eastern accent. You are not allowed to order after 6 p.m., they want to close promptly at 6:30 p.m. Every evening, half of the display must be given away to Caritas.

If you don't have expensive clothes or jewelry on you will be treated differently there. Every time they asked, was everything ok etc...they just looked at me strangely and when I paid I felt like a second class person...never go to this bakery again!

It's such a shame. We have been customers here for years and now this: there is suddenly a strict separation between the dining area and the counter. I can no longer easily choose at the counter and take the food into the dining room like I used to. I am expected to know the entire counter top by heart and order it at the table. This is impossible, extremely complicated and simply customer-unfriendly! Plus everything now takes three times longer. We used to be able to pay when we went out - it was quick and easy. Now you're waiting for one of the stressed out waiters. Speaking of which - the employees have apparently been completely replaced and you can see that the otherwise relaxed atmosphere is now different. I assume the whole thing is aimed at maximizing profits, because I can't think of any other reason for the whole "redesign". A shame and simply a very, very stupid idea.

The best pastry chef far and wide. The price is worth it. Honold is always ready for something special. Great that Honold is also in Witikon.

At 7:55, croissants are cold and rubbery. Never resist

Nice place to have a morning coffee outside. The service is very friendly and the delicacies in the counter and the bread are A1.

Nicely decorated, nice atmosphere, spacious and bright. Service well, not particularly friendly and there was no offer to warm up the quiche. Good attractive range.

I showed the certificate at the buffet. Then the lady wanted to know my ID, my wishes and also wanted to collect money. I went to the table with the dog on a leash and showed my ID there. I paid as I left. The service lady looked for the price for the espresso on the cash register and found it. I will not frequent this house again

Simply bad, why do we only talk about the service instead of a bakery that calls itself that and yet no longer makes bread by hand? Take the example of German bakeries, where the bread is getting better and better and ours is just getting worse Industrially produced instead of purely handcrafted, why are the prices getting more and more expensive but the products are getting worse in terms of quality, it just doesn't taste like it did in the 70s anymore, regardless of whether it's Parisian peaks and bread is worse, worse, worst

I like this place. Good baked goods, friendly service. Price/performance still needs to be improved a bit. For self-service on the terrace, you pay as much for coffee and drinks as at ZH Bhf Strasse WITH service. And we are here in Witikon :) well, I wonder how you get these prices. Maybe go over the books, dear management :)

Underwhelming experience given how posh the place presents itself. Very pricey. ‘Gipfeli’: fail. Visually unpleasant. Shapeless and dry. I’m disappointed because my grandma took me often to Honold at Rennweg and I remembered as a kid I loved their Gipfeli. What happened?! However, toilets are clean.

An impudence. There wants You can also support the other Beck in the neighborhood during Corona and go in before the store closes and buy butter pretzels and cream slices. At full price. The butter pretzels are so bone dry that you have to cough like that it is very dusty bite into it. Fresh is different and at full price the biggest impudence ever. Never again!!! Oh yes, and the size of the unmarked cream slices is nothing but embarrassing for the price! This is all about greed for profit!

Very friendly staff, who always impress with their warmth. Honold's products are a pleasure for all the senses. Especially in Corona times, the covered outdoor area with fluffy fur and cozy warm blankets is very popular. Always a delight for the heart and palate!

Very nice service, but the price for a latte macchiato of 7.-- is at the upper limit of pain. Here in Witikon we are in a shopping center and not on Bahnhofstrasse. But the price of 7.90 for my small, dried salmon canapé, which was decorated with a bow of mayonnaise and a tiny, half slice of lemon, was completely outrageous. And if I order tea crème, then I would like tea (= infusion drink) and not lukewarm water and a tea bag. The half-open Gottlieberhüppe with coffee is charming, but probably not entirely Coroma-compliant, just like the open cream in a porcelain mug?

The ambience is great, but unfortunately the coffee costs (currently) CHF 5.50, which in my opinion is rather on the upper threshold. Also in Zurich. Therefore unfortunately only 3 stars.

Great cafe, the food is great too. The coffee is good, the pretzel croissant with egg and bacon was very tasty. The service was very attentive and courteous. The outdoor area is cozy and quiet, but is located directly on the passage of the center.

Orders are always processed on time and correctly. Staff is friendly and prompt.

Bought 2 pralines, 2 pretty ladies laughed from ear to ear when I spoke to a gentleman with gray hair after I said that you have to be moderate with the pralines. I suspected more than the immediate thing, said thank you and left.

It's a nice confectionery, you can also have brunch here on Sundays. Things look very good in the restaurant. Has different chocolates to buy. The service was also very good and friendly.

Great place for a hot chocolate

This is a quite fancy café - bakery of a prestigious Swiss chocolate and confectionery manufacturer, in a less-fancy looking mini-mall of the neighborhood. The prices are quite high, even in Swiss comparison, but nothing less to expect. One cappuccino for 5.90, Sunday brunch with 2 hot drinks for 39. Opens 7am (Sunday at 8). The atmosphere is quite pleasant, and the personnel is really nice. I would say, it's a bit of a luxury treat what you can afford sporadically.

Great coffee place with good service, quality food and enough space. I like the minimalistic design as well as the space for kids.

I think it's nice to have a café in the center again. But unfortunately I'm not impressed by the newly opened Café Honold in Witikon. The selection is rather sparse and I paid CHF 6.20 for an apricot tart to take away (7.80 if you consume it in the café), which seems expensive to me. Of course the café is still very young, but it would still be nice if some work was done on the decoration/furnishings. A little more color and possibly plants, curtains on the windows, etc. would make the rooms more comfortable. If I want quality from Beck, I will continue to go to Hotz Bakery. For a cozy coffee out, I prefer the Hoch3 or the Kafitasse in the GZ.
