Da Guido in Zürich

I was in Zurich as a tourist and found the restaurant by chance. The quality and taste were convincing, and the service was pleasant and friendly. Price performance is therefore okay. I particularly liked the proximity to the lake :)

Pizza Diavola is highly recommended, but could be a bit spicier. Average prices, but schnitzel is rather expensive for Zurich.

One of my worst experiences in a restaurant in Zurich. It's a shame, because Da Guido used to be a renowned address for good Italian food and pizzas. The service was quite OK. However, the miserable food ruined the whole visit. The restaurant was almost empty, so that couldn't have been the problem. The classic starter: Insalata Caprese. The tomatoes and mozz ice cold. The vinegar is a cheap red wine vinegar, not even balsamic, it's simply part of a real Caprese. In my opinion, the few drops of olive oil were also of basic quality. Not to mention the mozzarella. It doesn't always have to be Bufala, but it should have a good cow's milk mozz. Unfortunately we didn't even manage that. The mashed arugula and the careless sideboard should also be mentioned. The crowning glory was the price, over 19 Fr, so you can expect good products and an attractive plate. The pizza was just as bad. The dough was barely crispy and tasted like one of those supermarket pizzas. The vegetable topping was certainly fresh, but had no benefit in terms of taste. Dear owner, a visit to a restaurant should be an experience. If you are presented with dishes that you can make better at home, then it's better not to. With all due respect to your chefs. Zum Schluss dann noch das hausgemachte Tirami Su. Wunderbar mit der Zitronen-Note. So gut, dass wir noch eine Extra-Portion nachbestellten. Fazit: absolut empfehlenswertes Restaurant ! Auch die Pizza Calzone sehr leicht und fein (mal ohne Ei und Tonnen Knoblauch), einige Laufkundschaft, die Pizzen holte für daheim. Danke - wir kommen wieder!
