Bland and not very fresh food...I ordered Norma paccheri. The mozzarella was in "granules" like making pizzas and not cooked. Very disapointed...

Friday evening dinner without pretension and reservation, as many restaurants were full, we arrived at Da Carlo. Very friendly welcome, the servers are friendly even if overwhelmed given the number of tables. The menu offers a wide choice of pastas and pizzas, fish and meats. The “Homemade” label is clearly indicated for dishes that are not entirely prepared on site using raw, traditional products in the kitchen, which is an excellent thing. I had the “paccheri with Burata, pancetta and pistachio”. The dish was very good, nothing to say, all accompanied by a Brunello di Montalcino (2018). Small downside, for the noise and the space. The tables are very close together, and it is very noisy. Damage.

Food without sanitation (I had to add salt and pepper to all my dishes. Huge quantity, staff very unsmiling and not super welcoming. The atmosphere was not great (there was bass echoing.

We (14 people) recently had dinner at this restaurant, and overall the experience was quite satisfactory. The quality of the dishes served was good, with flavors that delighted our taste buds. However, the service was somewhat uneven, marked by a few oversights which slightly marred our experience. These incidents, although minor, required reminders from us to get everything in order. Despite these small inconveniences, the atmosphere of the place remains pleasant and the majority of the staff were quite friendly and attentive. We hope these points will be improved on our next visit, as the potential for an excellent experience is certainly there…

The pizzas were good, friendly service, great place right at the entrance with a view of the busy street. The only negative point was the table top, which wobbled a lot. Only 2 screws are missing...

Pizzeria Da Carlo, well located restaurant The pizza is good, tasty and juicy as well as pizza dough was properly cooked but the pasta with clams/vongole was overcooked, we enjoy their Homemade Tiramisu though! Overall i am between 3-4, good experience!

I ordered a plate of penne with salmon. It was good but nothing more. Regarding the service, the servers are professional but clearly overwhelmed. And finally, the atmosphere is friendly but the restaurant is definitely too small. We are literally disappointed...

restaurant with very little professionalism and terrible cuisine: we ordered green salad and pumpkin soup as a first course. Tagliatelle with Gran Marnier, they refused without an explanation. On the paper it was written that, only Monday 'Tuesday and Wednesday'. We were on Tuesday. To finish, we had tagliatelle with morels and linguine with scampi. Nothing fresh, quite the opposite. We vomited when we got home. 1/2 hour later. We call this restaurant a Bettola! to be absolutely avoided P.U

Nice atmosphere, great staff, but the food is average. The dishes lack the generosity, which is the signature of transalpine cuisine in this segment: flavor, sauce, mozzarella, garnish, olive oil, tomatoes, grana or parmesan, garlic, basil, sage.... all in small quantity. Not a question of quantity, but of cooking skills which can be improved. Very good wines.

Everything is incredible the pizzas are super good the service is fast the servers are super friendly and all the dishes are excellent I highly recommend this pizzeria because I find it to be the best pizza in Lausanne!

Concerns delivery of 12/29/2023 The Da Carlo restaurant kept the ready pizza waiting in a box for 90 minutes before the Uber delivery man could collect it. The pizza delivered was filthy and frozen.

We always had 4 cheese pizzas and today we changed! We tasted the pasta 😋 truffle pasta and pasta a la norma really something very good!

I ordered a pizza, it was good there was a huge choice of pizza which was very nice, unfortunately there was more crust than pizza (see in the photo there is as much crust as pizza...) super shame, the service was pleasant the waiters very polite and friendly and fast service! On the other hand, please change my knives, we all have a hard time cutting our pizza 😅

The servers are very welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is also very welcoming and traditional. And I highly recommend the desserts and my favorite is the cheese Gniocchi (I don't remember the name😅). I highly recommend this restaurant.

For me, the best pizzas in Lausanne. Good menu, good atmosphere.

Via delivery my opinion is very bad. The Regina pizza was full of water. The pizza was stuck to the cardboard in the middle and took a layer of cardboard on top of the pizza. The mozzarella I think is cheap mozzarella with no taste and poor consistency (don't expect threads worthy of real pizza). The crust was not at all crispy but difficult to chew. For this price it's really scandalous. The pizza was not left behind because the delivery man took it from the restaurant and delivered it to us very shortly after. The children didn't want to finish.

Great meal shared for two on the terrace. The pizzas are excellent, the servers welcoming and friendly. Slight downside on the proximity of the tables and, in fact, the very ambient noise. Don't hesitate to come and take a look, we will be happy to come back during our next visit to Lausanne!

I don't know, probably a good restaurant by local standards, but in my opinion, nothing that would wake me up at night...

Aesthetically, the pizza looks delicious and as a napoletan pizza. However, tomato sauce, mozzarella was like old, ham and artichokes too dry and there wasn’t any taste.. definitely too expensive for what it is. Sta pizza nun era bona e manco napoletana!

Pizza not well cooked, tomato sauce too acidic and cheese barely melted… the dough not cooked enough either… vegetables roughly cut and bland, total disappointment!

Oh my goodness. The food here is DELICIOUS!!!! I kept on tasting my cousins’ meals. I recommend. I wish I had taken pictures of the food. Pasta was a success. The best Carbonara I’ve ever had. Pancetta melts in the mouth. I couldn’t stop eating. Pizza with Buffalo mozzarella is recommended if you want pizza. I am coming back here. Thank you

Extra pizza except the dough, not crispy. The bay window remains open and car exhausts rush into the restaurant. For a meal of 75.40 Fr cash payment of 80.00 Fr the server did not answer the difference.

We arrived late as a group and the staff was nice enough to seat us and let us eat. Very good pizza.

Positive, they made up for some flaws with some excellent ice cream.

Waiter was quite rude, no idea why maybe because we only wanted dessert? Younger waiter came by and smoothed things out but old mate still had a bit of attitude dropping off the check. Dessert was great, porto was ok.

Fabulous meal with a beautiful view of Lake Geneva from my table. I was seated immediately without a reservation. My server was very attentive. The salad was simple, yet tasty. My pizza was awesome - the crust was fresh-made, very light, and the best I've had since being diagnosed. And I had to have dessert as it is not usually available - chocolate mousse was thick, light and very chocolaty!! If you need to eat gluten free while in Lausanne, definitely stop here. And even if you don't, you will enjoy a wonderful meal in a wonderful atmosphere!!

Long service and not necessarily friendly. Lots of servers but waiting… Rather average dish.

I've been going to this restaurant for lunch for a week. Always very well served, very very quickly. The dishes are great. Today spaghetti with truffle cream. Served 5 minutes after ordering, excellent. Restaurant that I recommend with my eyes closed.

Very nice experience in this restaurant. The service is excellent, waiters are very kind. I had an AMAZING gluten-free pizza! Great to have places that offer this alternative, they also offer it on pasta.

Order made via Uber and total disappointment, the vegetables were missing from the dish, the “chicken supreme” was in fact a kind of mini escalope, very thin and dry, and then the “parmesan risotto” was a joke! It was Carolina (basic rice) poorly cooked and dry, absolutely not creamy and smooth as a risotto should be… and this for an exorbitant price given the quality of the dish! I absolutely do not recommend this establishment and it is clear that this is the first and last time I drink at Da Carlo!!!

The fresh vegetables were delicious, the waiters friendly but the pizza was way too salty!

Homemade pasta is like in Italy!

I came to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends of 10. It was great!! The service was excellent and very friendly. The dishes are well served, the price is very reasonable. A 5 star Italian restaurant very clearly. I recommend going alone, as a couple, with friends or family! Everything is perfect

Very Disappointed in the Bufalina Pizza, came out burnt and looked nothing like the photos that they advertise on their website. Had only 4 small pieces of Buffalo mozzarella and the rest was just sauce. Lasagna was average. Not sure if I would come again.

Please thin crust pizza! The ones we all dream of when we go to Italy…. It will be one of the most essential business cards of Lausanne. A pizzeria that makes real Italian pizzas and doesn't stuff us with dough! 🤮

The waiters are very nice, the prices are fair, the pizzas are very good and the homemade tiramisu is excellent. Small downside for the pasta carbonara which is nothing like a carbonara (three times too much pasta for a single egg yolk placed in the middle without parmesan, with very good pancetta and pieces of veal (?)) which were more like pasta without sauce with bits of meat. Too bad also for the toilets which lack a little regular cleaning. Overall, I will come back but never again for the carbonara.

I live in France, and every time I visit my son in Switzerland, I have to go eat a pizza at da Carlo in Lausanne because they are so good. A warm, sincere welcome and always a laugh, from the staff both in the restaurant and in the kitchen. The pizzas are exquisite, tasty, a complete menu with choice... Good food, less nice restaurant

I visited this evening with a group of people. Lasagna al forno very poorly served. The size of their “normal” lasagna is a 10x15cm lasagna. Even the children's menus are bigger. A child would eat twice as much. It is shameful. I will come back more.

We had not reserved, but still room....the servers are welcoming, smiling, thank you very much. We were well served and the pizzas are really good, we will come back... Mother Christmas 🤶 🤶 🤶

It was the BEST pizza I have EVER had. The quality, the texture, the taste, the size... everything was pure perfection. The prices are high but the food is totally worth the cost. And they have incredible Gluten free food ! I would definitely come back whenever I'm passing by Lausanne. And the service is also great. Just go for it !

Absolutely divine gluten-free pizza! I hadn’t eaten it in years and I loved it! The servers are excellent, some noise but for a Saturday it's completely normal :) I removed a star because the glasses and tablecloth were not clean.
