Luigia in Zürich

LUIGIA is a fixed place for us when we want to go out to eat... the place is super welcoming, there is a nice atmosphere, the staff is knowledgeable and always very kind, the food is delicious, whatever the choice falls on (pasta, pizza, main courses or dessert) you are always on the safe side...then being parents the thing we love most is the space dedicated to children...in fact Luigia is our favorite restaurant...

Great Italian food at a reasonable cost. Service was super. The design is also interesting, and the atmosphere was like a huge dining hall. I think the tables and chairs make it look more simple.thqn it is.

Food was mostly excellent- I wasn’t a fan of the Baba with rum (it alone could get you drunk). Drinks were great. Service was fast on getting your order but slow to get the order taken. Little on the pricier side.

Top service! Top food! Cool team! Even though the restaurant is always very busy (when I'm there...), the staff never seems stressed! They travel quickly, are always very friendly and very professional. The food is always excellent and the waiting times are in the green despite the store being full! How do you do this?? 😊

Waiting time even though u have reservation is ridiculous! (We had to wait 25 minutes in the entrance) I do not recommend! Food was good though.

Apart from the pizza everything was very bad, the carpaccio was bland, the calamari was too salty, the meat was very dry and the potatoes were still raw...

Really really disappointed. I came here to celebrate my birthday and even stated that while placing the reservation. This location was super busy and their waiters really didn’t bother serving the guests or being attentive when we called them multiple times. Food was okay. I do not recommend this place.

Nightmare experience…. I ordered carpaccio “pizza” with truffle. As soon as I took a slice of pizza and brought it closer to my mouth, I smelled a strong, unpleasant smell of ammonia or something similar to the smell of a cheap rubber. After several bites I tasted a strong bitterness. I realized that I wasn’t imagining it. It was disgusting… I called for a waiter (btw he was super sweet) and explained him the situation. I never tasted something like this and I am a huge fan of truffle. P.S. I have a degree in culinary arts. He told me that he knows about it and this is not the first complain about this type of truffle his chef had ordered. I asked to replace my dish as it was not eatable with such “truffle from the north of Italy” He said he will ask for a manager to fix this. And do you know what happened??? The manager REFUSED to come to our table. He asked the waiter to address us such information: “ yes, you can order another dish but we not gonna remove this ammonia truffle pizza from your bill” I took a peace of this spongy stinky truffle with me and I am going to send it to the labor department as I do not think this truffle is safe to eat… I suspect this is not ever a real truffle as the consistency is different and more spongy. Dear Luigia restaurant, you disrespect your customers. Don’t give such a reputation to the Italian culture and hospitality. Real Italians would never behave like this.

Great food! Wide choice of dishes, top desserts!

I used to find a table every time. In recent months never, even if I make a reservation. The waiting time is very long and the entrance is always packed with people waiting. I arrived earlier and I was told to wait for a table which never happened for 30mins, they could have told me to leave and come back.

When I come to pick up the order when I do delivery, I always have to wait at least 15-30minits. Nobody comes to tell you to not waste your time, they dont speak English well and you always have to make a german/italian mixed activity to figure anything out. I am not pleased and this is a main reason that i dont accept order from here and because of this I am not even interested to eat at these animals.

A nice place to celebrate a birthday, suitable for even large groups. Very kind staff. Fair prices for Zurich. Only the salads are a little small for their price.

At Luigia you can enjoy great Italian specialties. The pizza we ordered was very good, certainly thanks to the wood-fired oven. It was full on a Friday evening and many people had to wait despite reservations. The service is friendly and attentive, and seasonal workers make up the majority of the workforce. Looking at the menu on the smartphone is a bit complicated because the map is very extensive. Recommended.

Waiting for over an hour despite a reservation and receiving no apology is normal in this restaurant. With service like this, what is actually delicious food gets a bitter aftertaste.

The Luigia Restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and fast service, even without a reservation. This was our second visit and our group was seated immediately, which is commendable. The pizza was very good, but I couldn't enjoy it completely because it was very milky and was heavy on my stomach, which is not usually the case. The dessert, Zebrest, was a highlight with its crunchy ice cream. Unfortunately, I suffered food poisoning after eating the pizza and had to spend a week at home with gastrointestinal symptoms. I am convinced that the quality of the mozzarella or milk used in the pizza was not good. It is unfortunate that an otherwise positive experience was marred by health issues.

Good service, food was super good, expecially the naepolitan style pizza. For being Zuricity, I’ve found price quite honest. Good experience, I would definitely came back.

Reserved for 5 people 5 main courses No starters Waiting over 1 hour for food and a main course was still cold and went back to the kitchen... Conclusion: food was good, the rest was unusable...

We had a wonderful time at Luigia. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and on top of that there was a free car show 😊 We would be happy to come back and recommend you 100%

The Vesuvio pizza was, as always, first class. Only in the last few bites was the pizza cold. Also noticed that the plate was cold. Tip: With a preheated plate, the thin pizza stays warm longer, even with the last bite.

The food was terrible. I don't know why I thought it was a coincidence at first, but I felt sick 3/3 of the time I went to a restaurant. The pizza came cold. The pasta came out slightly sour, as if something had expired; never again!

We waited 1 hour for the table despite having a reservation. After we were at the table, the table was “cleaned” - everything was streaked on the table and the cloth was used alternately for the table and chairs. The staff wasn't friendly or knowledgeable either. Considering we waited so long, the food wasn't great either. I won't go anymore.

Embarrassing experience, you can see that they do not care at all about the customers. I wish I would have taken a picture cause it is sounds SO ridiculous it is hard to believe. In general took them ages to take the order, bring the drinks, the food etc. They even brought the water without glasses. It is not correct but it is understandable since the restaurant was full. The main issue was the following and it hard to believe: We asked the waitress if it was possible to share a pizza between 2 ppl (one pizza, half one flavor and half another flavor). We asked twice if this was possible and made sure she understood the concept. She said yes, so she proceeded with the order. 45mins later they bring the order with 2 exact same pizzas that are both half one flavor and half the other flavor. HELLO? If we wanted that then we would order two separate normal pizzas !!! We communicated this issue to the waiter and a man arrived in a grumpy attitude, not even asking what happened, just speaking in a loud voice saying that they there was nothing they could do to fix this. We insisted that NOBODY informed us that it was not possible to order ONE pizza half and half and he just replied: “We cannot do anything about that” and just left it on the table. The dessert was ordered at the same time as the main courses to get it on time, but it also took them 40mins after we finished the main course. We had to wait 40MINS for the dessert 🤯🤯🤯 Cherry on top, they obviously charged us for THEIR mistake and we had to pay the extra pizza that nobody ordered. You can see that they overall do not even care. The LEAST they could do is say sorry, take back the pizza and remove it from the bill but no, no gesture was made from their side. Luigia was one of my favorite restaurants. I have been a client since 2016 in all the restaurants around Switzerland: Fribourg, Geneva and Lausanne while I was studying. It was my third time at Luigia Zurich. Worst experience I had so far.

Despite a reservation, we waited 1 hour, dirty table, hardly anyone speaks German let alone good English, then we waited another 35 minutes to order, in the end it took almost 2 hours for the food to arrive, this wasn't a big hit either!

Every now and then we come here for a pizza. It's always been tasty so far. We think it's a bit of a shame that the employees... Service hardly speak German. Which is generally not a problem for us as we can communicate well in English. It's very noisy here at lunchtime, which is why we always come in the afternoon. We love the pistachio tiramisu, you have to try it here!

We spontaneously decided to visit your restaurant because we had heard about your exciting concept. We were seated at a high table for 8 without a reservation and then completely ignored. After 15 minutes without any attention we decided to leave the restaurant. It's a real shame because we were looking forward to a relaxing dinner with you. Hopefully the service will improve in the future so that other guests can have a more pleasant experience.

The food was excellent and tasted very good. The service, however, was quite uncoordinated and, above all, annoyed, and the tone was rather doubtfully arrogant. A pity.

We reserved a table for two people but we were seated at a table with strangers. The food itself was very tasty, but I have never experienced such bad service. We had just finished our meal when the waiter came to us and asked us to leave if we didn't order any more. We were in the restaurant for almost an hour and didn't even finish our drinks. We were extremely disappointed and find such behavior unacceptable and disgraceful. We will certainly not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Bullying uber drivers Thank you for responding, but regrettably, your assertion is incorrect. Uber drivers are frequently left waiting for orders for extended periods, often up to 45 minutes, without earning any income. Despite being told the order will be ready in 5 minutes, there's often a 20-minute delay with no updates from staff. This leaves us waiting in cold outside. Ideally, drivers should be contacted once the food is nearing completion. Unlike other restaurants where orders are promptly prepared, your management struggles in this aspect.

I went to dinner there because it was recommended to me but I was disappointed and I couldn't even eat the pasta I ordered because it was so hard, I had to leave there to eat somewhere else. You don't have space to talk to your partner, the table is super small. What a mess !

Very slow and arrogant personal

The food was exceptionally tasty, especially the bruschetta selection! The best one I've ever had.

They treat horribly Uber Eats couriers as they let them wait for a very long time outside staring at the food which is ready behind the glass doors. Then the delivered food is cold even before the courier picks it up.

A visit to the Restaurant Luigia in Zurich is like a short trip to Italy - the inviting ambience and the great flair of the restaurant immediately transport you to southern regions. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the predominantly Italian-speaking staff, which further adds to the authentic atmosphere. Although the service seemed a little rough at times, overall it was very good and added to the authentic experience. The dishes at Luigia were consistently a culinary delight. The salami pizza, for which I chose the milder salami version, impressed with its fresh taste. The tomato sauce and cheese were in perfect balance, neither too overwhelming nor too reserved. The homemade Pasta Cacio e Pepe was a prime example of how an outstanding dish can be conjured up with just a few ingredients. The quality and interaction of the ingredients were impressive. I personally can't say much about the Calamarata, but my companion was just as enthusiastic about it. In terms of price, Luigia is in a reasonable segment, which is understandable given its location in Zurich and the high quality of the ingredients and service. It's a place I would definitely come to more often - for the feeling of being in Italy for a meal without leaving Zurich. A clear recommendation with 5 stars for anyone looking for real Italian flair and taste.

Yes the pizza is edible, but especially good....? Oh well! The completely unprofessional and incompetent service staff is definitely inadequate for Swiss standards. The planned “Italianita” does not necessarily have to be taken to the extreme.

I have been a Luigia's customer for almost 10 years in Geneva and the ZH branch is equally okay. Pizza is great. All Italians in Switzerland know that. The problem is that it's crowded, noisy, a profit maximizer, people standing inside and outside of the restaurant. If you want a calm, enjoyable dinner, don't try to go on Fri/Sat night. You'll thank me later.

Reserved for a birthday at 8:30 p.m. and still had to wait an hour. Every time we were told we had to be patient for another 10 minutes, but guests who arrived later were still seated first. We have wanted to go for a long time but finding something else to do at this time is difficult. The worst thing of all was the arrogant and dismissive behavior of the waitress. The ambience and food are good but they really screw it up! Never experienced it before.

Stay away from this store. Reserved for 7 p.m., huge queue, regulars pushing forward. You are simply ignored. At 7:30 p.m. we decided to leave. Get your problems under control. And dial down your arrogance.

On Saturday evening I went to Luigia Restaurant in Zurich together with my friends. I ordered the Trentino pizza which was fabulous to say the least and several Sorrentino drinks that were so good I have never had them anywhere; it is a restaurant that I recommend to everyone not only for the excellent food, but the service was excellent, waiters available and attentive to customer needs and to satisfying every request; the environment is very welcoming; the relationship between quality and price is excellent. We will definitely return. 😁

Best authentic italian restaurant in zurich

The menu is only in Italian, and foods that contain fish or shellfish are marked with drawings, We went with a Muslim friend and she doesn't eat pork, we thought that the calzone was just different types of cheese since it had a picture of milk and wheat, IT DIDN'T PUT ANYTHING COW OR PORK. When she brought it, they gave her the one that contained pork and when she said something to the waiter who didn't speak German well. He told us that we had to buy something else that was not their mistake. Never again, there are better Italian restaurants that do not take advantage of the customer!

Wait over TWO hours for food and in case you don't speak Italian you will have to wait longer than Italians. These customers are given priority, all others have to wait and are also ignored. The food is ok but VERY expensive for this experience. All employees have conversations with Italians they know privately. (As they themselves announced as an apology) All in all, this is a shame because I'm sure it would have been nice.

I've been waiting here with my family for our food for a solid 2 hours. Italians are preferred and served but we just don't get our food. I think it's rude towards non-Italians that they are simply ignored and 95% can't speak German. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here. A horrible place for such a beautiful environment.

Bad. Pizza took 40 minutes. It was cold and really nasty. Never again. At Dieci, Molino, Santa Lucia you can at least get a decent pizza.

The place is very nice, the dishes really good and beautiful to look at, The service needs to be improved, customer attention was poor, many tables needed to be rearranged and cleared, including ours. A couple was waiting for the dessert list, after 20 minutes they still had the second course in front of them, they gave up on dessert and left. Confusion in giving the dishes to the right table. Despite this, it is worth trying their specialties as the staff is always friendly.

Employees prefer Italian. If someone speaks Italian, he/she will get in quicker. When queuing you are asked to leave the restaurant because the kitchen is closing. Unfriendly employees and unpleasant atmosphere. Not recommendable.

I feel like I'm in Italy. Both as food and as environment.

The food was delicious, the display was great, all the food came pretty much at once, and it didn’t take long to make, slight suggestion would be to check on the clients more often closer to ordering time, but in Europe that’s probably the norm, but otherwise the atmosphere around us the cleanliness, and seats were actually comfortable. It didn’t seem like it was set up to get the customers in and out. Enjoy the food AND the company you are with in staying after the food is consumed over another drink or desert to enjoy the entire experience. I would return to this place again. My daughter enjoyed the pizza. And I actually ordered two dishes besides the bruschetta sampler… the gnocchi was to die for.

Absolutely amazing pizza, one of the best I ate in Zurich, a real revelation. The only thing that bothered us: the waiter says: "can I offer you a limoncello?" And we: of course! Then I find 30chr in the account. I suggest using a different verb next time, since the culture of offering limoncello is very widespread and it is very easy to get confused.

Mid level Italian, good wine reasonable prices. Lively fun atmosphere. Pizza was good but salty. Make sure you have phone service, no paper menus.

I had pizza and salad delivered. The salad came with the wrong sauce. The pizza was cold (despite the insulated bag) and was missing anchovies, which did appear on the bill. The real sin, the pizza came with a whole mozzarella half in the middle of the bottom. In the picture online, the mozzarella is spread normally throughout the pizza, as you would expect. It would actually be obvious that a large piece of mozzarella in the middle of the pizza would soak the base and thus make a good piece of the pizza inedible. In addition, no one eats a pizza where cheese has to be cut from the mozzarella ball separately for each bite. And all for a whopping 30 francs. Never again.

It tasted very good and the preparation time was quick. Ambiance is really nice and very busy. Prices are a bit high. A little more communication would be necessary in the service, you have to ask for parmesan and unfortunately the second round of drinks was not typed and had to be ordered again. I don't think it's good that you have to pay at a counter and so I didn't give a tip because it's not transparent and that's where it ends up. Overall I can recommend it.

If you want to eat really good pizza and other authentic Italian food, Luigia is the right place for you. From the pesto to the tiramisu, everything is homemade, so it's fresh and super tasty. The restaurant is usually full, so it's worth making a reservation. Great ambience, delicious food and very fine drinks! We recommend!

Some of the staff are very rude and don't understand German. We ordered a birthday surprise 3 times. It only worked with the third dessert but the torch candles were lit in front of the birthday child. No surprise effect and served very unfriendly. It's a shame because the food was very tasty.

Yesterday we had a reservation at your restaurant (a large group) we ate, after which we were informed that we had to vacate the table because another group would come. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful towards the customer. it has never happened to me ,to be informed 20 minutes afte we ate that we have to leave. You can add to the reservation note that the stay time is a maximum of 2 hours, and then the person understands. We understood that we need to waited an hour after the meal because it was crowded , but after that to come at the table and tell the customer that he has to leave, totally unprofessional./We made this reservation in Advanced (2/3 Weeks before ,just to be sure that we are coming to your place and we will enjoy the Night).

We ordered take away pizza. Once we arrived home, we realized that the pizza was undercooked and full of water (see pictures). I have written to the customer service to find a solution, but did not get any reply…

The food used to be good, now it‘s average at best. The service is terrible. We had a big dinner the other day, 4 families. After 2 hours we were told that we need to free the table and had to leave.
