Da Salvi in Grindelwald

2 years ago the pizza there was great. This time I also ordered a pizza! I received a lot of bread and hardly any cheese. Rather disappointed 😞.

Atmosphere and service is good. However the taste of pizza or pasta is not very good.

We went to the restaurant and both had pizzas. The pizza is very bland and tasteless, but visually it is actually nice. Would be much better with a delicious pizza tomato sauce! The staff was very friendly and we were very happy with the service. In terms of price, I think it's completely okay, 2 pizzas, 0.5l of cola and 1 liter of water total exactly 50 francs.

Great find. This is some of the best Italian food in the area. We had pizza, penne, and tortellini. All were superb. Seated right away and service was as expected for Europe. Don’t skip this place on your visit

Mass processing. The seating was so cramped that you couldn't really get a seat, nor could you eat well at the table. And we had reserved an extra 2 weeks in advance and mentioned that it was a birthday. (There were even better tables, for example in the Grotto) It was extremely noisy and hectic. The quality of the food also suffers. Pasta not salted enough, not cooked enough and the sauce watery. Only the beef fillet was really good. For a 16 month old child they brought a normal children's portion for Fr. 14.50. After complaining, they canceled it for us. They apologized. But hardly anything will likely change. Sales are the priority here. The restaurant was full and as soon as a table became available, it was immediately occupied again. It may also be ok for a quick pizza. But definitely not for a cozy dinner.

Unfortunately really mass production. Anyone who wanted to leave the restaurant couldn't because the next customers were already waiting on the way to the table. Now to our food. According to my son, Pizza Prosciutto was very good, but unfortunately my Pizza Tonno was not. I wanted to tell the serving daughter that too, but unfortunately it wasn't possible because she didn't speak German. Sorry, doesn't work at all! Ordered 1/2 liter of wine, Elena, which was really good. Prices at the upper limit.

Good pizza, good service Pizza Diavola came with extra chili in oil. A little too oily, but proportioned well. Relatively expensive.

Take-Away atmosphere kind of thing.

We were a group of eight and it all arrived super fast, almost too fast, actually, the starter and main came up at the same time, but it was good and the restaurant was crowded, so these things can happen if course.

The food was excellent. The starter came very quickly and was fresh. There was a large selection of food to choose from. The service was impeccable and polite. We were well received and served. The restaurant can only be recommended.

We were here for dinner yesterday. The service was really attentive and friendly. The tomato soup was very tasty, minestrone, pizza and osso buco were quite good but nothing more.

We were promised the best pizza in Switzerland, so our expectations were very high. I cannot say it was the best food that I ever ate, but price quality ratio is very correct. What stands out was the exceptional quality of service, the friendliest staff ever! Highly recommended.

We went to Da Salvi for dinner while staying in Grindelwald and I must say I was very disappointed by both the food and the service. We made a reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. While I recognize that we spoke English, the server made no attempt to try to communicate with us and just showed up and demanded our order. We asked about tap water but were forced to pay for a bottle even though every table around us had tap water. Our order consisted of a starter and a meal for each of us but they brought everything out together even though we asked for the starter to come first. The food also came out insanely fast which normally would be a good thing but it was almost too fast. The food was mediocre at best and the saving grace of the food was that they offer gluten free pizza as we had a member of our party who has celiac. That said, the food came so fast the cheese on the pizza wasn't even fully melted. I would say there are much better options in Grindelwald for dinner but if you want takeout pizza, their pizza is decent.

The pizza 🍕 is delicious, the soup it's just normal test and the price is ok. but the service and the staff really friendly.

The operators can't find the food and service to be perfect for the train station atmosphere, as a lot of people and even groups of more than 5 people try to get a table without a reservation.

We went here for dinner and ordered pizza and pasta. The pizza wasn't breathtaking, but it was tasty. The noodles were okay too. The waiters were all very nice and extremely quick. The food also arrived very quickly.

Very nice experience! We came to eat on the 31st, we were kindly welcomed without even having made a reservation. The staff is really welcoming, especially our server Paulo/Pablo (I have a fishy memory), with whom we stayed subsequently a good part of the evening (to whom we apologize because we were not able to come back and say goodbye as planned) thank you for this beautiful evening and we will come back if the opportunity arises 😊🙏

Quantity over quality. Room full of tables so that someone hits your chair every 10 seconds while you're eating. Rude people are simply ignored even though they disturb the table next door and I wasn't even asked if everything was okay so I could point that out. I'll never go there again.

We ordered baby lamb, pork and ham cheese pizza. The food recommended by the waitress were delicious 👍🏻 The waitresses are friendly with good service! I recommend to visit this great restaurant 😊

Great place for Italian food in Grindelwald. The pasta and pizza were delicious and cooked well. They have nice selection of wines. The bruschetta was also delicious and tasted authentic. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu which was very tasty and satisfied our sweet cravings.

The highlight of our meal was the freshly made wood fired pizzas and the amazing service by all of the restaurant staff. They were super friendly and approachable! Desserts were very delicious too.

If you visit Switzerland in Nov you will quickly realized many places are closed. Our first night in Grindelwald we ate at Da Salvi. Lucy was our waitress and she was absolutely fantastic. I went on to eat here three more times before leaving the area. Everything I ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

A restaurant with no merits at all other than being near the lift. It doesn't taste good, and even the beer doesn't taste good... It's not cheap, and the hygiene inside is questionable. There are too many flies and it seems like they are not managed well.

There was a review saying there were flies inside the restaurant, but even at the end of October, flies were still flying around. There are more servers with poor service than other restaurants

Around 8 PM, I went to the store with my wife and son. I was shown to a seat that was not set for me by a blunt female staff member (I was set for another seat). Even after waiting for more than 5 minutes, I did not receive the settings or menu. As I was moving to another seat, I asked another female employee who was clearing away the dishes for the menu, and she said in a sarcastic tone, “Of course I’ll give it to you, just wait a moment.” Then it doesn't show up. After about 5 minutes, there was a male employee serving the table next to me, so I asked for a menu and only then did he give it to me. When I tried to select the menu and order, the staff member couldn't tell me where he had gone. About 10 minutes later, there was an employee at a nearby table who came to clean up the dishes, and when I told him to order, he motioned for the female employee who had made a sarcastic comment earlier to take my order. The female employee went to put dishes away at another table. Even though 25 to 30 minutes had passed since I entered the store, I couldn't place my order. I thought it would ruin my trip, so I just left. They didn't even pay me a glance on the way out. It was the worst experience.

Went to eat Pizza and ordered margarita. Asked for oregano as a topping for which was told the charge would be extra. This is the first place in Europe to ask extra for oregano. I would say they really need to do better.

Food was good, however, the service was lousy. I requested my order come without a particular item and the waitress made us feel like we were stupid for even asking and then she reluctantly agreed. Also, we hardly saw our server again after we placed the order and had to wait quite a long time for the check. When we asked another waiter to see inquire about our check he seemed annoyed. And we waited another 5 minutes before we saw her again by this point the patio was only half full so the place was definitely not that busy. Try this in the US and you’d be looking for another job.

Food was bad. Waiter was fine - we ordered a beef soup and it turned out too salty and waiter was helpful in getting us a new serving. My lamb chop was uncooked, wife’s spaghetti was tasteless until I added salt. Atmosphere is really bad with all those flies. Don’t suggest coming here. We did not have a pleasant experience.

Very rude behavior by the so called manager. Treated us very badly. If he has staff shortage what are the customers supposed to do? He treated us as if we came to eat freely. Very unpleasant experience.

Nice Italian pizza, but the employees differentiate between Arabs and foreigners when dealing with it

Really bad experience. There were flies everywhere. The staff was aware of the problem but was nonchalant about it. They said it is a nuisance but did very little to solve the problem. They put a small fan like think on the table which barely covered one plate. The rest of the food had flies buzzing all the time. The food in itself was below average. Very low in seasoning. Underwhelming taste and the Risotto we had ordered was undercooked, not al dente.

When I saw a comment saying there were a lot of flies, I wondered how many there would be, but yes, there were a lot of them. The staff were hanging out, but they didn't show me where to sit. I spoke with their eyes and even raised my hand, but they didn't even look. Then, I was finally shown a seat, but they didn't even give me a menu, and they were setting up another table (the seat I was shown to was not even set up. There were a few people standing still... I would understand if they were busy, but I don't know what they were trying to do. I heard that Koreans are impatient and don't like it when you raise their hand and call them, so I tried to make eye contact... but I felt like if I stayed any longer, it would ruin my day, so I just left. Looking at the comments, the staff was friendly. I think there are some people, but since it's a Kebake, I hope you make a good choice and go there. For reference, I think I saw more than 10 flies. Are the other places using fly chasing machines? It was set on the table, but I hadn't ordered yet, so it felt like flies were flocking towards us because the machine wasn't there... Anyway, there were too many.

Thanks to previous reviewers we’d chosen to eat here on our first night, and really enjoyed it. The pizza was superb. The next night we tried somewhere else, but were not treated very well so left and returned to Salvi, having another great meal. As busy as they are the team work very hard at looking after everyone, and it’s a great atmosphere in the outside terrace. So why try anywhere else? We booked the same table outside for rest of the week and thoroughly enjoyed working our way through the menu (pizza, pasta, lamb chops and chicken) and some of the great wine list. Thanks to all the team for being excellent, especially Lucia (service) and Simona (reception) who were great fun. Have a great season.

I ate tomato soup, anchovy pizza, and pork steak. First of all, the restaurant is a paradise for flies and mosquitoes... No matter how much I turned on the fan, I was worried throughout the meal. And the pork steak is truly amazing. Let's eat it and both of us will feel sick. Please eat the following menu instead. Even the anchovies are perfect...ㅠㅠ I ate it with anchovy androgan. I really don't usually say dirty things. It was so bad. Go to the restaurant next door...

There's something strange about the menu. I ordered quattro stagioni In the menu introduction It was written that it contained tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, artichkoke, and peperoni. There wasn't a single piece of mushrooms or peperoni in it. It seems like you just do whatever you want with the toppings. There were green peppers and olives on top. The pizza was delicious, but I wish it was labeled properly. Personally, I was going to eat diavola but changed my mind because I wanted to eat peperoni and mushrooms. It's even more unfortunate.

Flies in the restaurant are very annoying, but they have small fans to drive them away. The food quality is okay.

The steak was perfectly medium-rare, and the pizza tasted smoky and tough. It was excellent. The chili sauce was worthy of praise. It went well with all meals. The only drawback was that there were a lot of flies, but the restaurant will provide a fan to drive away the flies. If the weather If it's good, I suggest you sit outside.

Ordered a vegetarian pizza based on what their slices appeared as. Asked if this was the vegetarian pizza. Was given a pizza with different toppings… no olives and no onions. Good pizza but not what I asked for. Be aware

We came here in one evening when we stayed at Grindelwald. We arrived at 6pm & there were plenty of empty tables. As for the food, we ordered a seafood spaghetti, a spaghetti bolognese, a spicy tomato soup, a coke & a orange juice. My spaghetti bolognese was lovely as what I expected, the spicy tomato soup was creamy & delicious too. However, my wife's seafood spaghetti was tasted bland as she said the whole dish had no seasoning at all. She added that the prawns were smelly too & also disappointed that the orange was from concentrated rather than from the fresh oranges. As for the service, we basically didn't get any. The waitresses didn't speak English so basically she let us went in to sit where we wanted, plus we struggled to communicate when we placed orders or tried to ask for salt & pepper...etc. Overall, I managed my expectation so I wasn't disappointed & had a fairly satisfied dinner, but my wife wasn't pleased at all. In terms of price, including tips, it cost approx CHF80 so it was average for Switzerland's standard.

Flys everywhere. Some say it’s normal but did not encounter this issue anywhere else in town… Food was greasy and low quality. Not sure why they were busy every night. Won’t be back. Won’t recommend. Sorry

The worst restaurant in this nice Switzerland The employees were rude and frowned upon, and when they were cleaning up, they would throw things at them, but they didn't take orders and left them for 15 minutes. The 2 teams of Chinese people behind me didn't respond even when I called them after taking my order. They kept not coming to take my order, so I just left. There were a lot of flies and it smelled bad, but after reading other people's reviews, it was stinky. Paris is the same I'm glad I didn't eat it.

Walked up at 22:05, stood there for 20 minutes in plain sight before being told they only serve pizzas to go at the time. It wouldn't have been difficult to mention that within 5 minutes and allow us to go get food somewhere else. It's under the cable car to First Mountain. It's very suitable for eating after activities. The waiter has a good attitude and the food is served quickly. I just had dinner at the restaurant and had the following with the review of each dish: 1. Mixed Salad - 7/10: Fresh, but not exceptional. 2. Bruschetta - 8/10: Highlight of the meal, perfectly balanced. 3. Fried Calamari - 7/10: Decent, could have been crispier. 4. Funghi Pizza - 7.5/10: Enjoyable, good mushroom and cheese combo. 5. Quattro Formaggi Pizza - 8/10: Rich and delightful with four cheeses. 6. Chocolate Ice Cream - 7.5/10: Creamy and satisfying. 7. Milk Ice Cream - 7/10: Simple and pleasant. The atmosphere was lively, and the menu offered a wide range of choices, making it a good dining option in Grindelwald.

Delicious pizzas with fresh ingredients. Thinner crust than onkel Tom's pizzas nearby. Service was awesome and we had one particular italian server (from Basilicata) perhaps the owner could remind me his name, he was AMAZING and we tipped him extra. Such a friendly, warm person who made us feel welcome at the restaurant. Large seating area so great for groups. They do have random flies coming through but the restaurant is open air for parts of it so its hard to avoid that - they do keep table fans on though which helps deter any flies for trying to sit down. Overall had an awesome experience.
