Service is bad, very bad. We've just come in with 6 people and ask for 6 seats and also ask some foods if its available or not. They say yes but the waitress say it with rude tone but also suddenly assuming we want to "take away" and just... go to the kitchen. We we're confuse then... We wait a bit and behind us there's a family with 5 persons, the she back and let the family in and ask us to leave... Because they don't have 6 seats. Not to mention when we enter there is also a group of 6 people there eating. Dumb And no its not, don't lie because there's not a single table with reservations sign

This place is amazing! We didn't realize how busy it is and when we arrived our table was the only one without any reservations. The lady who is serving everyone is very friendly and nice! We had an amazing meal menu, and the service was very fast! If we come back to Grindelwald, we definitely revisit here!

Pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food. As a Malaysian Chinese myself and my husband a Singaporean Chinese...we both have high expectations when it comes to Asian cuisine and always a tad wary when overseas but the cravings are real! So, after reviewing the reviews (there were quite a few of our Asian brothers and sisters giving high rating for the taste of the food), we decided to give it a go ( even though we know the overall rating is low) So glad we decided to give it go. Lesson here: always read reviews... low rating doesn't always equate bad food. It could just mean bad service / other personal experience or reasons. And depending on your priority, if you're wanting decent enough Chinese food then give it a go :)

Every year on our skiing holiday we visit the small hidden Chinese restaurant in the village center of Grindelwald. Since there are only a few seats available, a reservation by telephone is recommended. The service is unobtrusive and very friendly. The food was very tasty and attractively prepared. The main courses are served on rechauds. It is advisable for several people to order different main courses so that everyone can try everything. The quality has remained good for years 👌🏼

Not sure why the rating is not higher - the restaurant is excellent. Hong Kong style Chinese food, very tasty and they serve fast. The restaurant is not big but it has sime fine decoration and collection of arts. We are lucky to get some vegetarian option and kids love it.

The food here is as authentic as you're gonna get. Do not be fooled by the low rating, because the food is amazing! Apparently this is the only Chinese food in Grindelwald, and the only one you will ever need. Helmed by a Hong Kong chef, the dishes are cooked to perfection. My family and I enjoyed every dish we ordered and will be back again!

After a few weeks of steak and eggs, Jasmine garden is perfect for me. I had fried pork spare rib and stir fried beef with black bean sauce. The beef and rib were tender and not chewy at all. The portion is decent. One main dish for each person was enough to fill us up. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The seafood soup, wanton soup and yangzhou fried rice for dinner. All the dished were amazing ! Especially the yangzhou fried rice, rich in taste and defintely my favourite. Friendly restaurant staff, a place to visit for good Chinese food !

Grindelwald has very few places that you can definitely say it's a good place to eat. I like the small quirky quality of the venue. The food is also good. I suggest to try the duck and the siumai. Please note you need to come early to have a possibility to have a seat as the place is small and only few tables are available. If that is not possible reserved in advance to avoid the hassle.

If you are accustomed to Korean Chinese food, try mixing fried rice with mapo tofu. If you want to hang out, chicken hot soup is good. The dim sum smells a bit like instant noodles.

However, I have to say it really matters to present the hospitabilty and welcome, the guests are human beings and will always appreciate a smile and some explianation like water are with charges in a nicer way. The service level here is not pleasant and with poke face, I do not think this way of running restaurant will lead the returned customers.

Was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my 20+ years traveling globally. We came early and tried to get a reservation and the owner/hostess said they couldn’t take our group of 8 people because they only had one chef. We offered to split into two groups of 4, still wouldn’t allow us to dine in. We tried coming back later to see if we could get in and the place was full of Asian people, with even a few large groups our size. We tried one last time the following day and same thing. I’ve seen another post mentioning this type of treatment, bottom line is that if your Asian they are accommodating, if not, too bad. This owner seems to be biased against non-Asian people — I would absolutely not recommend this place and hope that someone takes action as they should not be in business in the beautiful town of Grindelwald. This was our only bad experience during our week there.

Legitimate Chinese food run by a Cantonese family nestled in a small corner of Grindelwald. We ordered mapo tofu, kung pao pork and hot and sour soup, all of which tasted authentic and comforting in a rainy summer weather. Portion was more than enough to satisfy our craving as well. However, they also appear to be short staffed (there's only one lady serving when we visited), so do buffer in some waiting time. Otherwise it's a great place to fulfill your Chinese food craving in Grindelwald.

I came here twice during my stay in Grindelwald, once for internal use. The taste was very good, but the restaurant was really too busy. I was craving for Chinese cuisine one day and found an authentic restaurant owned and managed from Hong Kong. I ordered a take away order and was quite happy with my meal. The next day I went back to the restaurant to order again but the lady denied my take away order because she said they were busy. I was a little shocked as I was thinking to myself what’s the difference if I was dining in or taking out. The chef will still cook my order and pack it, no difference!

Went for dinner at 1800hrs after they reopen from lunch and found the place packed. They only have a capacity of max 30 pax and is pretty much little separation table to table. The only person running the show was a lady whom was running everything except the cooking whom I understand is a cook from Hong Kong. Hence I understand why they have to turn away guests. The 5 stars came from my yearning for Chinese food after many days of schnitzel, pasta and sandwiches. The hot and sour soup had a consistency and loaded with crunch from well combines ingredients. The Vietnamese spring rolls were crisp, not oily and filled nicely with meat and veg. Mapo tofu gave my Cantonese fried rice some depth and spice and had clever use of Szechuan mala spices. The crowning glory and deserving of 5 stars was the succulent duck that surprised the daylights out of me. The portion was at least half a duck and I left a happy man! Entrance to this place is hidden at the end of the building, down a flight of stairs. Space is rather small, 9 tables or so, all compactly placed. Food wasn’t terrible but wouldn’t have satisfied an asian palette. Black pepper beef was more salty than spicy.. mapo tofu was somewhat bland and curry chicken was more.. malaysian style? We really enjoyed the hot & sour soup with shrimps though (it’s tomyum, not szechuan). Service was efficient, especially when it’s a one-lady show on the floor. And she is multi-lingual, kudos to her!

As ‘plant based’ diet travellers, finding vegan friendly food can be a challenge in this area but came across Jasmine Garden. We had steam rice with sweet and sour mushrooms, and garlic broccoli. (Was starving and ate everything before remembering to take a photo of our meal. Sorry folks!) Everything was delicious and quick service!

This is the only Chinese restaurant in the town but the food was great. We got the sweet and sour duck and chicken with vegetables. As a note the takeout prices are cheaper than dining in.

Just ate at the Jasmine Garden. it was a lovely change between all the swiss restaurants in Grindlewald. Food was great and so was the staff. Will come back for sure!
