The hospitality of this service is incredible. The detail of this hotel make me want to come back to Lucerne and enjoy more of it! The front desk, the room, the bartender everything! Absolutely recommend! Lovely! We received small candies, chocolate, free drink vouchers, shampoo and body gel are enclosed in a small gift bag, it was so cute. My wife said little things is what matters the most, and Hotel des Balance did justice to that. Brillant!

We were there on the occasion of the "please disturb". A great event in all of Lucerne... It's a shame that gastronomy isn't given more attention and appreciation 🙏

Super beautiful Art Nouveau hotel in the middle of the old town, located on the Reuss. Fine food, nice staff, clean rooms. What more do you want?

Price / offer: Very good. Highly recommended by A for reservation and Z for check out. The location is also very good and if you are lucky you can get a room with a mountain view. Booking the Reuss view or getting an upgrade is simply unique. You can also drive to the hotel by car (valet parking). Highly recommended for 1-3 nights and don't be alarmed when the church bells across the street ring at around 7am in the morning :-) Otherwise the rooms are very quiet.

Small rooms perfectly organized and facing the fabulous scenery along the Reuss River. Very comfortable boxspring beds, soft linens and coffee / tea facilities in each room. Beautifully appointment and very well maintained hotel.

We visit Des Balances regularly, including last Sunday evening. The quality of the food is, as always, excellent, and the service staff also do a good job. Unfortunately, the performance of Mr. Cello Nadarajah (Assistant Restaurant Manager) usually falls down. Apparently the restaurant was fully booked, but we were still offered a table until 8 p.m. Already at 7:45 p.m. we were greeted by Mr. Nadarajah was quite harshly asked to pay and leave our seats (800chf for 4 people including bar consumption). We then finished the dessert in the bar. When we left the hotel at 9:15 p.m., "our" table was occupied, but there were a few free tables. It's incomprehensible why we couldn't simply reschedule here, as there is clearly a lack of flexibility. Therefore currently a maximum of 4 stars.

Kurzentschlossen fragte ich im Restaurant Balances beim vorbeigehen an, ob noch ein Tisch frei ist. Ich hatte Glück und durfte draussen an einem Tisch direkt an der Reuss Platz nehmen. Ich entschied mich für das Kontinental Frühstück und bestellte mir zusätzlich Rührei mit Champignons dazu. Brot, Gipfeli etc. sowie Butter/Konfitüre durfte ich mich direkt vom Buffet bedienen. Die Auswahl ist sehr gross und das Brot super knusprig frisch. Das Buffet ist sehr schön und einladend angerichtet. Ich denke beim nächsten Besuch werde ich mir das ganze Angebot vom Buffet gönnen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist für mich absolut stimmig. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend - die Lage des Restaurants einfach ein Traum. Auf Sonderwünsche wird anstandslos eingegangen (anstelle des Saftes bevorzugte ich lieber eine zweite Tasse Kaffee). Ich komme bestimmt wieder.

Ich muss dieses Hotel wirklich loben ich habe mich noch nie so wohl gefühlt wie in diesem Hotel 👍 Tolles Zimmer mit vielen Produkten für den Kunden. Super Restaurant man könnte noch einbischen mehr Auswahl haben aber sonst waren die Gerichte Top! Parkservice ist auch super beim Preis kann man sich streite ich bin der Meinung das ein Hotel einem Gast den Parkplatz günstig oder gratis anbiete sollte bin mir aber auch bewusst das die Lage für Parkplätze schlecht ist. Ich habe unter der Woche 203 Franken bezahlt für das Zimmer. Am Weekend waren die Preise mir persöhnlich zu teuer 320-400. P.s Super Reinigungskräfte hat das Hotel als wir Nachtessen gegangen waren und zurück ins Zimmer gingen wurde geputzt und uns 2 Läderach Schokoladenstücke ins Zimmer gelegt (Hatte ich noch nie am gleichen Tag an dem man eincheckte das das Zimmer geputzt wurde) 😊👍 Tolles Hotel komme gern wieder 😁

Auto wird von einem Hotel Angestellten in eine nahe gelegene Parkmöglichkeit gefahren und bei Abreise sehr schnell wieder vors Haus gefahren. Das Abendessen als 4 Gang Menu ausgesucht lässt keine Fragen offen. Weinkarte dem Hause entsprechend. Preis Leistung über alles gesehen absolut gerechtfertigt. Wohlfühloase mit kurzen Wegen zum ÖV, Altstadt und See. Bei nächster Gelegenheit werden wir das Hotel wieder buchen.

Wir waren schon 5! mal in diesem wunderschönen Hotel. Das sagt ja eigentlich alles....Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber. Das ganze Personal im Hotel und Restaurant sind junge, freundliche und kompetente Mitarbeiter. Der nette Inhaber hat uns sogar mal feine Häppchen zum Apéro offeriert, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Das Essen ist nur vom Feinsten! Jeder Gang ein Gedicht und die Weinkarte hat für jeden Geschmack etwas. Wir gehen sicher wieder ins Balances und freuen uns jetzt schon drauf. S.Heinrich

This hotel was recommended by SBB for an overnight as part of the GoldenPass scenic rail trip. We did that gorgeous trip by buying rail tickets and accommodation separately. That’s a different story though. The hotel itself is fabulous, made even more so during the time of COVID, when the only way to dine in a restaurant is to stay at the associated hotel. The restaurant was first rate, both food and service. You should make a reservation, we did not the first night, but were accommodated anyway after a short stay at the bar. The room, riverside view definitely recommended, was clean, comfortable, and equipped with complimentary artisan chocolates. This is a historic building, with an interesting mural adorning the facade. The location is super convenient.

Havn't stayed at the hotel but had dinner in the restaurant. It offers high-end dishes in excellent quality with the most professional and customer oriented staff. ...of course it's pricey though. Make sure to sit on the waterfront terrace right above the reuss river for a simply perfect lunch or dinner. Addendum: booked a room lately. Sleeping there is as good as eating there. Best place in lucerne.

We just stopped in for a drink in the bar by the river. It is a very comfortable and stylish place in a brilliant location.

Die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir waren spontan dort. Als wir gegen Abend eincheckten, in der Hoffnung, direkt essen gehen zu können, teilte man uns mit, dass wir in den zweiten Service (21.00 Uhr) eingeteilt wurden. Dies hat man uns bei der Buchung aber leider nicht mitgeteilt. Als wir dann fragten, ob es nicht früher geht, wurden wir nur mit "Sie haben halt erst so spät gebucht" abgewiesen. Um kurz nach 20.00 wollten wir dann einen Apéro trinken gehen. Im Restaurant hiess es, sie hätten bereits einen Tisch für uns. Zu unserem Erstaunen wurden wir an die Bar gesetzt. In einem 4-Sterne Hotel... Auffällig war, dass nur junge Paare an die Bar gesetzt wurden. Bei "älteren" haben sie sich das nicht erlaubt. Hinter der Bar hatten die Angestellten einen sehr aggressiven Umgangston miteinander. Sie rennten die ganze Zeit vor uns hin und her, was sehr unangenehm war. Wir waren dann kurz davor, wieder zu gehen. Ein aufmerksamer Mitarbeiter hat das mitbekommen und uns dann sofort zu einem schönen 2er Tisch geführt. So konnten wir den Abend dann doch noch geniessen.

Tolles Ambiente, freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal! Ausgezeichnete, grossartige Küche und gemütliche, stylische Bar. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen!

Sehr schönes Hotel direkt am Wasser. Die Weinkarte ist sehr abwechslungsreich und das Essen verdient die Sterne defintiv. Der Junge Herr war sehr freundlich und hat uns sehr nett bedient. Kommen bestimmt wieder.
