At Differente you will be warmly welcomed and served. The menu offers a wide selection. There is modern, classic and seasonal. The restaurant's interior reflects this; it is modern and classically elegant at the same time. The portion sizes and quality of the food are very good.

The staff is super friendly and professionally trained. You feel really well treated. The food was of the highest quality and very tasty. The atmosphere was also cozy. There is enough space and you can have a good conversation. There's even a little surprise for birthday people. Really recommended!

We were there for valentines. Was absolutely delightful, service and food 5stars.

I made a reservation for a particular set menu many weeks in advanced and noted on the reservation that I had a nut allergy. On the day of the reservation, I reminded the waitress I have a nut allergy. From the four-course set menu, two were substituted. The substitutions were not to the same standard as the originals. Instead of the goat cheese, nut, cranberry jam salad for the first course, I was served an unoriginal leafy salad with dressing. And, instead of a lemon meringue tart for dessert, I was served a bowl of cubbed fruit with a scoop of sorbet. From what I understand, this is one of the top-rated restaurants in Zurich (if not Switzerland) so to be served such thoughtless and uncreative substitutions, with plenty of notice given in advance, is a real shame, especially because I really enjoyed the other two courses.

Absolutely terrible place. Cuisine is industrial and does not worth the price. Mac Donald’s make it better. 45€ per plate of nothing. And they made an error on my order. And everything was so bad… terrine is not home made, bread neither, butter served in plastic industrial packaging.

It was very atmospheric, delicious gourmet food. The set of Tatars was a positive discovery because of the additional sauces. And at our request, the waiter told us not only about the dishes we ordered (their history, rules, traditions), but also about other dishes and wine. Please note that the restaurant menu also includes French cuisine. I recommend

I haven't eaten so well in a long time. We were greeted warmly when we entered. Employees have good knowledge and will advise you on the dishes. Veal cordon bleu is simply to die for. A good restaurant with top quality and employees who round everything off.

Here the guest is king. No long waiting times between courses, the staff is always friendly and patient. They also made the effort to prepare something small for the birthday, with success. The doneness of the entercôte was maintained as desired. The main course and dessert were perfect overall, unfortunately the starter (salad) couldn't keep up. Still, all in all a great experience.

The way they go about setting up reservations is very unprofessional. For obvious security reasons, a business shouldn't insist that a customer email their credit card number after a reservation has been made on their website. Luckily I saw their email requesting this (it had gone to my junk folder) over a week later. Had I not, the reservation would have been canceled without my knowledge. When I pointed out my concerns to the establishment, they wrote me a series of condescending, infantilizing emails explaining "how dining out works" these days. Best to avoid this place, especially if you are visiting Zurich and not staying at their hotel.

A few weeks ago we had dinner at the Differente Restaurant with visitors from abroad. The food was excellent, especially the liver and Züri Gschnätzlets were very, very well prepared. But what impressed us even more was the good service. The waiters were very attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, one of our children had a bad day and made a lot of noise, even then the staff were understanding and made us feel very good. Thank you very much for the great service and food. We will be back soon and highly recommend Differente too!

Better not try Tatar cafe de paris

We live right around the corner and have always wanted to go (for dinner) to the Differente restaurant, which is part of the Hotel Krone. Above all, the different variations of tartare are a highlight (if you are looking for them). At the moment (Hebst) there are various game delicacies, which looked delicious on the other guests' plates. We then decided on a venison carpaccio (as a main course, also available as a starter) and a Zurich schnitzel. Both were very tasty and beautifully prepared. Plus a glass of red wine. At the end we shared a white coffee mousse, which also tasted good. The service was very friendly and accommodating. However, it is advisable to make a reservation. The prices are ok for Zurich standards. The ambience in the back is nice (after the last renovation during Corona). However, the front part of the restaurant is a little warmer. The restaurant is located right on tram line 11/14, stop Kronenstrasse, 5 minutes from the main station. Nice if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, or as a starting point for the exit afterwards. Gladly again.

The wine was perfect. The food was not that good. The Tennessee tartar was too moschy, and the taste not good. The entrecôte was ok, but too oily sauce. The fries not fried enough.

Understaffed... unorganized services... food good... wine 20 degrees... later on wine from sellars temperature cooler...

An incredible restaurant! Must try the truffle ravioli and ask for the cheese toppings as you get three different types of cheese! Great meal, great service and wonderful overall experience

Tasty food, nice atmosphere, great service and friendly personnel. One of the best chefs in Zürich, imho. Well worth the hike uphill from the center. But be sure to book a table at least an hour in advance, on some night it's quite packed. Do not miss the deserts, there is a separate menu for them, I almost missed them. And go for the small versions, the big are huge! Highly recommended!

Fancy yet simple food! 😍 Beautiful presentation with very distinct colourful plates. The fish was super tender and well cooked. The tartar was unique with 6 types in one plate. Salad was also very tasty with the perfect seasoning. Price: ~ 80CHF per person 🍴

We went there for new year eve’s menu and it was excellent ! A high quality food that corresponds the price, we were full at the end of the meal. For the mocktails, there are only two options (and Hugo-Secco was delicious!). Maybe you can add more varieties for the mocktails in the drink menu.

A visit to Differente is always something special. We always receive very friendly and courteous (but not intrusive) service. The food is always very good too. The price range is high, but with Leberli Rösti or the fish dishes (my favorites), for example, you can also tell that high quality is important in purchasing, preparation and presentation. My companion was equally enthusiastic about the tartare. The decor/atmosphere in the restaurant is also very nice. I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Excellent food and even better service

Everything was unexpectedly delicious. Pass on the espresso martinis. The service and presentation was on point. We kept looking at other tables being served their food. Some mixed, seared or set a blaze all table side. Very impressive for a hotel restaurant. Highly recommend if in he area.

A great hotel that we are always happy to visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant can't quite keep up (yet?). The service is sometimes unfriendly and always good for negative surprises. If you criticize this nicely and constructively, you will be met with incomprehension and dismissed unfriendliness. A pity.

We really enjoyed the evening in the Differente restaurant. There are parking spaces around the hotel and restaurant. There is also a parking garage not far away. The service and the staff are top. The food was excellent and tasted just as it looks in the photos. Worth a visit!

Highly recommend. The food and service was great. The price is fair, not expensive. The environment is cozy.

Food was good. Salad exquisite. Service excellent, except perhaps the apprentice, who still has a lot to learn. But otherwise very friendly and competent. Unfortunately it was very hot inside, no ventilation through a fan or air conditioning.

I recommend it without a doubt. We stayed two nights in Zurich and we both had dinner there. Spectacular gnocchi, ravioli, cod and oxtail with lentils. Spectacular. There is a waitress from the Basque Country who explains everything to you in Spanish wonderfully. It is expensive for Spaniards, but like in general all of Switzerland.

Awesome. Like home. Our waitress was like a daughter. So nice to not be hurried through a meal like in America. Huge selection of tartar meat dishes.

The tartare menu is definitely worth trying, as are the Swiss specialties. The calf liver was delicious!

Fantastic Chateaubriand and great wine. Love it! I hear the tartar is also really good, but we decided not to try as it'd be too much food :-) maybe next time.

Let's start with the positive aspects of our visit. The lady who supports the service and gives the impression of being a superior is simply great! She alone makes a star! The other, slightly older lady either has a bit of her own personality that isn't really suitable for the service or she doesn't really enjoy her job. There is room for improvement when it comes to food, I would replace the sirloin gratin straight away and the fish was swimming pool food level.

Highly recommend. Not the cheapest but really good food and service. One of the better food I had in Zurich.

A very pleasant restaurant with excellent food. This time we were a little unlucky with the waiting time. It took much longer than usual for our food to arrive. However, the staff apologized several times and the quality of the food made us forget everything. It doesn't matter whether you take the tartare or something else from the constantly changing menu. I stayed in this hotel and had breakfast at this restaurant. Compare to other hotels in same category, I liked breakfast at this one the most. More variants of preparation of the eggs, cold cuts and muesli.

Special, worth every franc you paid. The food is delicious and has a unique idea. The mushroom soup with nuts is very special. The salmon and fettuccine with vegetables. The salt is well balanced. You actually taste the flavor of the vegetables without the addition of spices, etc. Prices are somewhat suitable for the middle class and above.. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I liked that they change the spoons and forks after every dish. In this crisis, they are asking for confirmation of the Corona vaccine and your identity if you are a tourist.

The service was very friendly. The food was a disaster. Zurich Geschnetzeltes unsalted and overall bland, the Rösti are totally over salted. I couldn't even finish eating. The waitress offered to do it again, but unfortunately we didn't have time for that and, to be honest, no reason to believe that a new attempt would turn out better. The veal liver was okay but not worth the money, it was also rather bland and a bit tough. After we complained about the inedible sliced ​​meat, the water bottle was on the house (but not the failed meal). Conclusion: 5 days in Switzerland, this was the worst meal we had here.

Differente has now become one of my favorite restaurants. The Tatars are an incomparable specialty that is always to be discovered in a new interpretation thanks to its diversity. In addition to culinary highlights, Differente impresses with a good selection of wines and, above all, friendly and competent service. The latter in particular is always a good reason to visit this restaurant. Zurich is often criticized, and not without good reason, as a service desert, but Differente and its service team provide a pleasant counterpoint here. The employees are warm, well-positioned professionals with a sense of humor and know their craft. Definitely always a place to go. Even after the lockdown, the quality of the food and service is excellent. It's nice to be back again.
