Domaine de la Crausaz in Bourg-en-Lavaux

This was our first time here! Easy walk from the train station even though the whole thing is uphill. It has a gorgeous view of Lake Geneva and looks out over rows and rows of their vineyard. We did the wine and chocolate tasting which was 1 hour, 5 pieces of chocolate and 5 or 6 types of wine. We don't hear much about swiss wine in the USA but we should. This was some of the best wine I've ever had. I want to come back to Switzerland specifically for more wine, more chocolate and this incredible view. The owner gave us history of their vineyard as well as the Swiss wine industry. He walked us around the building and was very kind. It is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Wonderful raclette evening on Fridays!

Honestly this place is a piece of paradise. We were welcomed by Chiara, an extremely nice woman who introduced us to their wines and was very available for explanations and a friendly chat. The view is priceless and they organize events quite frequently for a fair price

We are a repeat visitor of Domaine de la Crausaz, and always enjoy our visit! The wine is very enjoyable, the views from the terrace beautiful, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend adding this winery to your Lavaux visit!

Said open until 18:00 on all the signs/website etc Saturday 23 September, but waiter turned us down 17:20 due to being tired…?

Gorgeous!!! The view, the service and the quality of the dishes!!

An absolutely amazing property with tasty wines. It is a bit of a trek uphill from the train station (Vevy) but if you are in decent shape and the weather allows I would highly recommend the walk up. I was able to make a reservation in advance (several weeks prior) and although we only sampled the wine, we would love to return for a meal. It will take about 15-20 minutes to walk from the train stop but I am pretty sure there is a different train that can drop you off at the top of the little town.

Unfortunately, I had a very troubling experience with this establishment over the phone. I speak very limited French so when calling I was hoping someone was kind enough to speak to me in English. The first time I called and said ‘hi’ the phone hung up and I assumed we had just got cut off. When calling the second time, and saying ‘hi’ the woman on the other end of the phone said in French something along the lines of ‘we don’t speak English thank you, bye’ and hung up the phone a second time. This is absolutely not how you run a business. I was shocked so looked at the reviews to find many other English speaking people from across the world having similar rude and unkind experiences. Such a shame to treat tourists this way as I’m sure many of your visitors are not from this country originally. I have a French sister in law so we considered calling again and letting her speak, but quite frankly would not want to give our money to such a rude business. People who struggle speaking French be aware you won’t be treated with any kindness or respect, stay away! *in response to your reply - I in no way ‘expect’ anyone to speak English. I would have tried my best to speak French if I was given the chance and not hung up on multiple times. Perhaps cleaning staff should not answer the company phone if they are not able to communicate with potential visitors and leave them with an unpleasant experience as I don’t think this reflects well on what seems like an amazing vineyard.*

Good food and spectacular view. However, we were very disappointed with how we were treated by the staff. We were a table of 15 people, the only one who wasn't under the umbrellas. When asked to move the umbrellas to give us some shade we were told no. After two hours in the sun we again asked for some shade, but were denied once again. Fortunately, two runners kindly set up two umbrellas for us anyway. At the time of payment, we were treated with great rudeness because many of us attempted to pay with the phone (not with the physical card), a payment method not working without our knowledge. We strongly recommend communicating in advance which payment methods are accepted and not attributing technical problems at the POS to the customer.

Wishing to have the premises partially privatized for our civil wedding dinner, I asked the estate for a quote. Subsequently, we had an on-site meeting with the owner of the place to visit, discuss prices, choice of menus, etc. Everything was OK. We agreed to confirm the number of guests, the final menu and the choice of wines afterwards, without stress. We made an appointment by phone and when we arrived, we had contact with the manager who had no idea about our reservation. In addition, we learned of various information, such as the end time, which had never been notified to us like this. So we found ourselves without a venue for our wedding evening… I am very disappointed by such a lack of professionalism and this lack of respect! Finally, we asked to speak with the owner of the place who never called us back...

Superb time spent with family at the estate with the Sunday morning brunch formula in August 2022. The buffet is very complete, there is something for everyone, the staff is very friendly and the wines are excellent. The panorama is just magnificent! It’s a very beautiful area that I recommend coming to discover.

Great terrace, great welcome, great waitress…. Everything is great... magical place... nothing to complain about, everything is simply perfect... it's so peaceful and relaxing... I love it, it's my most beautiful favorite ♥️

The quality of service was not what we expect in Switzerland....

Superb brunch buffet on a beautiful terrace! A varied quality buffet of cold cuts, pastries, hot dishes and gourmet desserts! And you add to that a friendly service, a beautiful selection of wines and the magnificent view of the vineyard and Lake Geneva! We will come back, for sure!

There seem to be a different standard for treating guest depending on your ability to speak French.

We had reservations for Sunday brunch, which was confirmed to us. When the day came, we were served a basket of bread with butter and jam and we were asked to choose between beef steak and salmon steak... no brunch! Unfriendly server! Not recommended for vegetarians! For the price, too bad!

The next day, I learned by telephone that my reservation could not be honored for reasons that could not be communicated to me… I am very disappointed by such a lack of professionalism! One week away, I unfortunately had to cancel the surprise birthday party I was organizing for my best friend who was celebrating her 25th birthday.

Incredible views, nice service but food has much potential for improvement. Wine pairing okay, portions rather for a tasting then pairing which was slightly disappointing but all in all a nice place to go (mostly because of the view)

A much larger winery located in the Lavaux terraces. An easy walk from Villette, Cully or Grandvaux stations. Tastings cost 19chf. Bottles are reasonably priced. The staff provided great explanations of each bottle, and we were able to be served sitting down outside on the new terrace. The view is incredible overlooking Lake Lacman (Geneva) and the mountains. A great place to stop and stay for a while on your walk.
