Still sitting at the table in this friendly space we enjoyed a divine pool of ceviche that fell on the floor then melting fish and pork and all this with the smile and good humor of the team who received us at the out of the blue on a Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Well done and thank you

Always excellent Peruvian cuisine, perfect ceviche, friendly, efficient and professional service. Nice setting, even if the exterior doesn't look much. Small downside: the carafe of tap water is charged (2 francs), even if you have had an aperitif, starter, main course (including small additional side dishes) and dessert, which is a little small.

Very expensive And they give very little food 45 francs for a ceviche are. Crazy

Very nice discovery! The dishes are delicious. The ceviche is the best I have ever eaten. I also tried the lomo saltado and the meat was very tender. The octopus is also excellent with careful presentation. A very good address in Lausanne that I recommend without hesitation!

An absolutely divine restaurant! The dishes are delicious and we see that they are fresh using products that take time to cook, such as the famous pork (lomo) or ceviche. For a truly perfect experience, I recommend having a Pisco Sour before eating! I will come back to their place often!

We like Peruvian cousine therefore were excited to discover another place in the city. Our expectations did not come true. The portions were too small, felt like half of what you would normally get. Also the service was very slow, not attentive waiters, warm white wine.... the taste of food was good but again very small portions. Photo: find octupus on the plate if you can :D

The food is delicious, with their special sauces. The ingredients are of better quality, the octopus is one of the best we have tried in Switzerland. Impeccable service, very friendly!

Delicious meal, including lunch menu. On the other hand, the service is simply unacceptable in terms of delay (15 minutes for drinks, 1 hour for meals. And the dishes are not served at the same time).

I took away a Peruvian grilled chicken “pollo a la brasa”, tres leches and alfajores. The grilled chicken wasn't bad, but for the price of chF 80.- it was slightly undercooked on the inside. The sauces were good, the fries too. It came with an inka cola. The alfajores were wonderful with the Dulce de Leche or manjar blanco. On the other hand, the 3 licks will have to be revisited because there is no taste. I really give it a 1 as a rating. Because it is a very common dessert in Latin America and for chf 12.- it deserves to be good. So here is my opinion.

This restaurant was truly a highlight of our time in Lausanne! Though we arrived late for our reservation (just before the end of lunch hours), the staff kept the kitchen and restaurant open for us. They were incredibly welcoming and were patient with our Franglish and accommodating as we took our time ordering/enjoying our food. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal!!! The Peruvian cuisine was at once traditional in taste and novel in presentation—above all, it was truly delicious, the definition of grastonomique. I particularly recommend the causa! El Batán is certainly a must-visit in Lausanne!! :)

Best Peruvian restaurant in Lausanne. There aren't many of them, of course, but if you're looking for one, El Batan is the place to go. We enter the restaurant and at the far end, hidden, a small cozy terrace sheltered from the noise is furnished with parasols and greenery. A small but well-designed menu with specialties and better-known dishes like ceviche. I liked the fact that they only offer two piscos, one mature and another with passion fruit. The starters are very generous and so are the dishes! We had a hard time finishing our plates but everything was so delicious that we even had dessert so we could taste everything. The service was very efficient and very friendly. Honestly the best

Superb discovery! The restaurant is charming and has a pretty, quiet terrace. We really liked the very pleasant and professional service. We loved the meal. All the dishes are mastered and the typical Peruvian flavors were there. The plates are very neat and the presentation superbly colorful. Honestly everything was perfect. The Ceviche is a treat and we even offer you the option of choosing a more spicy seasoning if you wish. The cooking of the meat was perfect, tender and the aromas delicate. The octopus is excellent. The recommended wine was very good. Special mention also to the classic Pisco Sour, a treat! A Lausanne address to warmly recommend!

One of the few Peruvian restaurants around the city. Nice staff and okay decor, quite spacious and chill. Food is nice and pretty authentic. A bit pricy around 50 pp so not your casual dining place I’d say, but good portion.

Cozy restaurant with very pretty wall decorations. We were well received, we received small appetizers, everything was delicious and typical Peruvian. They take care to present the dishes with originality, so I advise you to take the time to enjoy your meal, the result is worth it 😍 and everything was delicious!! The dishes are generous, having taken the octopus as a main course, it was tender and melted under the tongue ♥️👌🏻 The ladies at the restaurant are very nice and always available if you have any questions :) I highly recommend it !

A very professional and pleasant welcome and impeccable and fast service. The menu is not huge but we can easily find what we are looking for with a good choice of Peruvian specialties. However the prices are extremely expensive, we would not have gone there without the gourmet passport. Otherwise the presentation, taste and portions are tip top. Passion fruit pisco is the perfect start to the meal.

Attentive and very kind team, but incredibly long service and room for improvement... plus the dishes don't arrive at the same time. On the other hand, the cuisine is delicious, the plates beautifully colored… it’s a journey. We really enjoyed the meal part, even if the prices seemed a little high to us. Small wine list. We will return once again with pleasure, really hoping that they improve the service part which does not live up to expectations and the bill. Reason why I only give 3 stars.

The best Peruvian restaurant in the region! A delight as always. You will not be disappointed by the quality of these dishes. You can go there with your eyes closed. The welcome and service is perfect. The only negative point would be the price which can be high. However, this remains entirely reasonable given the quality of the dishes.

It is really beautiful !! I went for the first time and I will return soon without a doubt! I must congratulate the kitchen for the speed with which they work, also for the quality and the beautiful presentation of the dishes. Without forgetting the very good reception from the waitresses upon arrival from the restaurant, always with a smile from the beginning to the end of the service. It was really pleasant to have this kindness throughout the dinner, and that's priceless. My congratulations to the entire restaurant team! I personally advise you that if you would like to have an evening where you can taste the magnificent Peruvian gastronomy in a very charming restaurant with this pleasant treatment, to definitely come to El Batán. You will not regret it !!

The dishes are good the service is good, for the reception they forgot to take our reservation so they installed us in the room at the entrance while for those who reserve have their dishes in the pretty room at the back with tablecloths and all the great service, they are often missing products displayed on the menu the dishes put in crazy time to come arrived at 8:35 p.m. and the starters arrived at 10 p.m. and the main course the same. The prices are too high for the expectation and the quality. There are too many small problems to improve and also even in the adicion there were errors

Tasty cuisine and nice discovery. Unfortunately the service is not great! Information on incomplete dishes especially no indication if the dish is spicy or not. Badly advised during the accompaniments because we were advised to take some and ultimately it was too much! For 2 people 180.- too much for my taste. Plus we were seated on the side of the brasserie rather than in the lounge. I don't think I'll go back there. PS: the scandal of the waiter working under the table for 50.- Fr per evening and as a bonus his spitting at the entrance to the restaurant when leaving, was very limited! No comment!

Nice place, simple decoration but everything is there. The menu is simple but you can't avoid thinking about the bill from the first glance at the prices indicated. Pleasant and fast service. The dishes were very good, a nice discovery but the bill was bad. Three pieces of fillet, some carrot tomatoes and rice, all this for 40CHF. I'm not talking about the 23CHF starter consisting of tuna and mashed potatoes, all distributed in a slug in the middle of the plate. Value for money much too high. Small downside, not insignificant: no parking for customers and the place is not practical for parking in the evening either.

4 of us came with the gourmet passport on the recommendation of a friend. We arrived at 7:45 p.m.... The starters were served around 9 p.m. and the main courses arrived on the table at 10 p.m. Between dishes; an organizational catastrophe. We brought the cutlery, plates and glasses back to the bar ourselves because no one cleared them and the waiter no longer knew where to put the dishes due to lack of space and organization. All the drinks stocks were empty. No beer available... our attempts to drink exotic drinks in the theme of the restaurant to kill time therefore remained in vain. Luckily, the dishes were excellent and dessert was offered to us to apologize for the abnormally long delay. We note, however, that the wait staff apologizes "for the kitchen" but it is the service that was a disaster. Realizing that our experience doesn't match the popular reviews of this establishment, we hope the restaurant hasn't taken a wrong turn recently. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
