Farnsburg in Liestal

Coming from Basel, the Farnsburg restaurant is located at the entrance to the “Stedtli” Liestal. The dining room is modern and comfortably furnished. You immediately feel welcome and the service is always very friendly. The menu offering is varied and the portions represent a good price/performance ratio. My personal favorites are the pizzas, but also the various cordon bleu variants, which are excellently filled from the first to the last bite, but of course a fine piece of meat on the hot stone is definitely recommended. I have enjoyed visiting the Farnsburg for many years, and I also really like the consistent consistency in terms of quality. And at the end, for me a quality badge for every restaurant, the toilets. These are modernly designed in Farnsburg and are always very well maintained.

We enjoyed our business lunch here. The lunch menu offer many options, I had fish with Safran sauce. Prices are good, the fish was delicious. The place itself is a bit too hectic during lunch because many people from neighbouring offices come to lunch. Nevertheless, as a lunch option it can be recommended.

My husband and I had dinner there, it was our second time there and we got a seat both times. Great service, everything was quick 👍🏼 I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We were there spontaneously. We got a table for two without making a reservation, but the restaurant is busy and a reservation is recommended. The pizzas were crispy and delicious. The staff is friendly and responds very quickly. Gladly again

Great value for money, three courses for just under 20 francs is simply great. The food tasted very good and was served quickly, there were no long waiting times. I will definitely come again.

Always well attended for good reason. The kitchen has a good selection and the food is served early and hot. There are various dishes for vegetarians, most with a pasta combination (truffle ravioli are highly recommended). The meat is fresh, regional and the portions are decent. Priced around the Swiss standard. There is a great atmosphere on the terrace facing the backyard, especially in summer, but the restaurant is also a nice eye-catcher with its ceiling paintings. All in all, in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Liestal.

Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. Becoming unfriendly. Despite reservations, he didn't want to let us in because of the wheelchair. He claimed to have canceled on me but he can't substantiate the alleged email. I had to ask several times to be able to pay and then he wanted to collect twice. Never again. When I received an email reply to my review, you immediately noticed that no one there knew what he was doing. It is said that we occupied a table for 6 to 3 hours and only ate 3 things. We were there for less than an hour and ate 6 drinks and 5 dishes that were not recommended in terms of taste. I don't know how you can mess up a sausage salad with fries like that. We hadn't even finished eating when it was time to pay and pay. We only had to ask twice to be able to pay. I'm also no longer welcome there because I gave a bad review.

Food was ok except for the meat (wrong piece of meat and the wrong cooking level). The service wasn't attentive. We weren't asked for an aperitif, nor were we asked for a dessert or a coffee. We had to pay at the bar. It was a shame.

Had dinner in the winter garden. It was totally cold on your legs and your head was burning due to the electric heater. The noise level was immense, it felt like you were in a canteen. The entire restaurant was only served by two waiters, which meant there were longer waiting times.

We ate outside in the winter garden in the winter, which was pretty uncomfortable. There were radiators, but your heads were warm and your feet were cold. Not a great atmosphere. Service seemed quite stressed. Food was ok.

We have reservations today. Unfortunately, we didn't know that there were only 3 recipes to choose from, which was very disappointing for me. We had a good Christmas meal on the website, but unfortunately only the New Year's Eve menu was very difficult for me as a celib

Service rather inattentive, wrong order taken. Ketchup wasn't brought. The food was ok even though I had the wrong cordon bleu. The fries were worse than in our canteen. However, the nut salad with bacon, ham and mushrooms as well as the rolls with the salad are recommended.

I have to share my disappointing experience at Farnsburg Restaurant in Liestal. We were completely ignored for the first 20 minutes and even had to get the menus ourselves. The salad was tasteless and obviously covered in a ready-made sauce. After the long wait, we were informed that the dish we wanted was not available. To make matters worse we had to wait another agonizing 45 minutes for a plain pizza. When we asked politely, we were rudely rejected and even insulted by the owner. The dessert, which was included in the price, was simply disgusting. An absolutely disappointing visit marked by poor service and unprofessional behavior.

Everything was solid, not outstanding, but not bad either. The service neglected us a lot outside, was otherwise friendly, but that's why only 2 ⭐️

The pizza is not recommended. The ham is reconstructed and the cheese is too fatty for me. But the other dishes are delicious. Service was friendly and accommodating.

A place where you can have dinner as you are. If you are looking for rather formal dining venues in a quieter atmosphere, maybe you should check out other places. We had fun and the food was fine. The nearby public parking Rebgarten is easily accessible and only a few steps away.

Yesterday afternoon we spontaneously visited this cozy, unique restaurant. The kitchen was actually closed and the staff had the day off. The landlord gave us a very warm welcome and served us a delicious fitness plate with chicken and drinks. We were completely surprised by so much hospitality and trust. My guest from Basel has never experienced anything like this. This restaurant has at least ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ deserved!!! Thanks Erdal 😀 🫶

Everything is right here. Service was friendly and accommodating, competent and calm, overall just very pleasant. The food was always prepared quickly and very good. The selection is good in terms of size. Cozy atmosphere, with a cute outdoor area. Always my pleasure!

If you are on your way to Liestal, definitely visit this restaurant. Their pizzas are in Italian style. Their staff are friendly, you feel at home. Five stars are not enough for this restaurant. 👌👌

Super quick service at lunchtime, but overcooked pasta and a Pesto Genovese with cream (!) almost made my blood curdle.

Unfortunately I haven't had a good experience. Overcooked, tasteless, oily noodles. Bland tomato sauce. Bad service. Definitely not recommended in this price range. The kebab around the corner is better and cheaper.

The cordon bleu last night was very fine. My customer also had cordon bleu and was thrilled. The service was, as always, very courteous. Keep it up.

We had 6 people eat here today and had the following experiences. There was a snail in the salad menu, which took away my appetite. Lunch menu pasta with autumn mushrooms was bland and a mixture of penne and hoernli. The others had meat, which was very tough. All in all a big disappointment, at least we could sit on the terrace and enjoy the last rays of sunshine. An absolute no go.

More bad than good... Staff not very friendly, pizza was ok. A mixed salad as a starter costs Fr. 13.—. This consisted mostly of green salad - with a nice black hair on the side.... Sorry, but we won't go there anymore.

The food was ok. The price-performance ratio but the service overall was unfortunately not good. We had to wait a long time until our food order was taken, we were not offered any further drinks, no dessert or coffee. A pity.

Visited twice in two days, the first time with two people, the second time with six work colleagues. Absolutely thrilled with the price-performance ratio. Brilliant service from the owner Erdal Koyuncuer - that's love for gastronomy! It's nice that there is still such a well-kept restaurant in Liestal where guests can feel comfortable and all their wishes are taken into account. Super cozy, great selection and perfect ambience after a busy day.

I spontaneously enjoyed my lunch here today. The fish was very good. The staff was also attentive. No wonder there were no more free seats shortly after 12:00.

These people should have their host license revoked. I have rarely experienced such a poorly organized restaurant. Our reserved table was not prepared, the food was served carelessly and we had to order the drinks several times until we finally received them. I recommend not supporting this poor service.

My salmon with vegetables in aluminum foil was basic. Of course it's always a matter of taste, for my taste the vegetables were hardly seasoned and the salmon was pretty bland. Service could be a little more attentive regarding drinks. Pictures of all the menu items on the menu would be recommended. Once is enough for me. Thanks

Today on the way home we stopped in Liestal. In search of something to eat, we follow our noses through the alleys, following a subtle whiff of the smell of barbecue. We ended up here. First the praise. The restaurant makes a very good impression both inside and out. The atmosphere is cozy and the furnishings are stylish. Doesn't seem overloaded, subtle light and you can "breathe". The boss seems to be popular and, as far as I could tell, has the place under control. Reminded me a bit of Sandokan :-) (if anyone else knows him) - When I set my sights on a place and write something about it (not just here), I go to the toilet first. Not because I have to, but out of calculation. If everything is OK there, then chances are good that the kitchen is fine too. That's a quirk of mine. Everything here was extremely clean and well maintained. Now about the food. I had a cordon bleu and my wife had a salmon steak. Both tasted delicious and were served very nicely. My bleu was juicy and my wife's salmon was very finely balanced, beautifully translucent and not overcooked. All in all, a very attractive restaurant. With the store being full, they are obviously doing a lot of things right. This is proven when compared to the restaurants nearby that only had one or two tables occupied. Why don't I give it 5 stars? Because turning a diamond into a brilliant requires one or two (small) cuts. For the salmon, a little less sauce so that the fish comes into its own a little better. For the side dishes, increase the slightly homeopathic dose. My wife's white asparagus was a bit overcooked and seemed like it had come from a jar or been maneuvered over from a previous plate. We hadn't made a reservation, but the corner for the guests who hadn't made a reservation was a bit narrow. The door to the stairs down to the toilet was open and there was quite a bit of walking which took away from the peace and quiet while eating. You felt a bit like you were in a second class compartment. Small detail on the side - the boy in the trainer who was running back and forth somehow didn't fit in the picture either. A salary appropriate to the situation would be helpful here :-). But what bothered me most of all was the somewhat nonchalant, consequence-free acknowledgment of my wife's complaint about lame Pflotsch asparagus. An espresso on the house would have been nice. But whatever, bottom line - great shop. Would love to come back if in the area!

Came for a pizza, but then there was a wild card and it was convincing. The food was very good and the quantity was also great. Unfortunately, when asked for a recommendation, the service employee responded with: I don't care, I don't have to eat it. It's a shame, the quality of the food is still impressive.
