Finkmüller Coffee & Fine Goods in Basel

We came on a Sunday at 4:30, excited to have some nice coffee after a long drive. The barista told us that was impossible, even though we were 30min before close. We think they just didn't want to serve us because they wanted to go home, which is fine, but then close the coffee shop earlier.

Staff was friendly, kind :) and the place was clean. Coffee is okay and the good thing is that alternative milk options are also available! Super place to study!

Friday morning, there are unappetizing-looking leftovers from the day before in the glass display case. There are no sandwiches available upon request, they are still in production. I don't get any prospects either. The employee who answers rudely then makes me a cappuccino, which I can pick up at the counter myself. And by the way, there are little bits of food and crumbs everywhere on the sofa set and the cushions on the armchairs are very dirty. It is cool in the Finkmüller Goldbachweg branch. My comment in this regard is not even responded to. The plant next to the display case with the food has lots of yellow leaves and makes a sickly impression. Like the customers and the entire branch, she is probably cared for in a nonchalant and sparse manner.

Today I was very disappointed with the staff. Totally unmotivated and unfriendly saying at the end: “Thank you for not even clearing up,” even though we had already cleared away the previous dishes from the previous ones. I wasn't aware that clearing up had to be done and this could also be said in a friendly tone. The products and the ambience are great, but somehow the operators don't manage to recruit motivated staff. to keep.

Such a delightful, relaxing place to sip a morning coffee on sundays!

Friendly employee + good café & cake

It has a wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff, and even a little corner with toys. As with all cafes in Basel, I usually never manage to stop by because I would be working during those hours, but it seems to be very normal for all cafes here.

The most beautiful place in the district is back. After the enchanting Cafe OST unfortunately had to close, a worthy successor, Finkmüller, took up residence. Whether coffee cake or snacks - you can't go wrong here. Everything is super fine!

Plus: It's an inn cafe that I go to every now and then. I like the simple Brookistube style. The coffee, the Bichermüesli and also the Braunis are incredibly tasty. This is what I like to consume in the cafe and the staff are friendly. Minus: I'm missing a daily newspaper, otherwise I would be there more often. The sofas in the café in the market hall need to be replaced. They are really creepy and shabby and no longer invite you to linger. That's stupid when the other tables are occupied.

Came with my teenage daughter. She had her first chai latte and eager to come back again. Super friendly staff. Perfect for a chill Sunday afternoon.

Nice and relaxed cafe very close to the train station. Coffee is good. For lunch you can order soup (meat and vegetarian options) or get a pita or a salad.

Dear Finkmüller Since Friday morning isn't one of our favorite moments and we never normally drink a kafi so early, we're positively surprised!!¡ However, the Finkmüller here is not quite as great as the Finkmüller in Glaibasel. Please adjust this Thank you :))

My second favorite cafe in this area. They are cool with you bringing a laptop & hanging out awhile. But it is quite busy & has close/cozy quarters. Do note: many of the photos others have posted for this cafe are actually from the other branch at the Markthalle, not this one. This one is much cozier than the Markthalle one.

Extraordinarily good food. Had a delicious cappuccino, the best green salad I’ve had by far in Switzerland, and a perfectly executed Thai curry over rice. Couldn’t recommend more.

friendly staff, good coffee and some indoor space which is OK if we want to work on something quickly. the place is not too crowded. the carrot cake I had was quite dry and not as sweet and soft as I like cake but thats my personal preference I guess. solid coffee near the railway station and much better than other options around the area!

Staying in the courtyard, internalizing the aroma of coffee, enjoying the peace and quiet of life is worth a lot and it doesn't cost much!!!!!

The wild garlic salt and the pickled capers, which I also purchased, are absolutely great! There are many more for sale, I will definitely try these products too.

One star because the waitress working here is extremely unfriendly (a smile shouldn’t be such a complicated thing to offer customers…) Otherwise it would be a nice place (I very often go to Finkmüller in Klein Basel, and like it a lot)

Employees are unmotivated & unfriendly! Chai latte with espresso to take away in mini cups for CHF 7.50!!! Same price as in a glass, but much less content. Should therefore be cheaper, especially since there is no need to wash the glass. When asked about this, the MA shrugged her shoulders uninterestedly... Prices generally excessive! Not recommendable!

This place is a huge disappointment. We ordered two hummus sandwiches and the waitress asked her colleague if they have enough for 2 sandwiches. The other said yes. Well, there was five little pieces of eggplant and tomato (one quarter of tomato!) with hummus, they just splited one sandwich worthy of material into two. For both we payed we payed 20 franks. When I pointed the situation to the waitress she was so rude. She proposed we can buy salads next to our meal. We were planning to order coffee after but given the situation we didn't. Horrible...

Very nice, everything is kept quite simple, but the quality is excellent. Home-pressed oils and an excellent espresso blend that is easily one of the best available in Switzerland.

Great pitas and cozy atmosphere. A nice place to watch the hustle and bustle on Güterstrasse. You can also buy good coffee and fine oil. Recommended!
