As a repeat offender, it's my third time in the fondue igloo and it just keeps getting better! Thank you for the cozy and unique hours with you in the igloo, we'll be happy to come back;) And we would also understand if it were to drip from the ceiling...! See you next time!;)

Better to book in advance. Fancy place but cool and cold! The only con is that the presentation and staff to introduce to the experience, they only speak swiss german, so no clue about story or something. Same happened when the waiters are doing the accomodation to the igloo room. Hopefully the waiters speak english to us when they were attending individually, so we were able to communicate. That's why we gave them 4 instead of 5 stars. Just to keep on mind: small portion but you can repeat, but you have to pay again for extra (truffle aromat +4 chf per person) few potatoes +5 chf legumes +8chf... wine bottle (50 chf).

World class cheese fondue and a very friendly staff

Good day In general I would like to say that your staff was very friendly but at the same time unfortunately totally incompetent. At the beginning the welcome drink that was promised to us was forgotten. There was hardly any information about the stay. We were not informed when check-out was or that there was the possibility of using a sauna. When we arrived in the room, we were not told how to operate the light. An information sheet would have made things a lot easier! Last but not least! Obviously it is not possible to set up a wet room in an igloo. We were aware of that. But for the price of 500 per night, a barracks-like basement with sanitary facilities from the 70s. And a collective toilet area is unreasonable! If I want to go back to the time of a youth camp, sure! But not for this exorbitant price!! Their fondue igloo is also simply poorly staffed. At the beginning we had to wait 15 minutes until we could order something. No information could be given about the wine or cheese (could also be described in the menu!). The igloos were super beautiful, detailed and generously designed, big praise for that. We would like to say a big thank you to the railway staff for their unscheduled use of the cable car. Never see you again, I would advise against it and go to another igloo hotel in Switzerland. Best possible and hopefully you'll make this a New Year's resolution!

We were a mixed group, Swiss and Polish. Unfortunately, as soon as the lady (Michaela) heard the conversation in Polish, she immediately noticed a much worse, unpleasant level of service. Very discriminatory when the other groups were served exemplarily. Reservation by phone is very nice, a large selection of additions to Fondue, in addition to Fondue you can order something for children. Very original atmosphere, very nice ice decorations. A place worth visiting, apart from Mrs. Michael.

As a birthday present for my girlfriend, I booked an overnight stay in a sleeping igloo including fondue on Engstligenalp. The anticipation was huge and the expectations were high. Valley station: Very nice service at the checkout. There are negative points for me because the overnight stay is quite expensive and the gondola ride is an additional charge. In my opinion it could be packed into a package. Arrival on the mountain: We had very poor visibility and trudged through the unknown in one direction (several groups of people). Could be a little better signposted here for such weather. Arrival at the hotel: Very nice receptionist! He explained everything to us really well (where, what, when, etc.) and gave us a welcome basket with a tea maker, bed bottles and bath towels for the sauna. The bed bottles were very nicely designed and you could take them home with you after your stay - THANK YOU. In addition, the receptionist was very committed because the lady at the valley station had already charged us for the fondue, even though it was included in our package. Sleeping Igloo: Great experience! Very nice reception hall with tea and beautiful decorations in the snow. Great and huge room for us (had a 6-person igloo for 2 people). Light switches and power strips are available in the sleeping igloo. Mega warm sleeping bags in which you can easily stay warm enough in your underwear. The only suggestion for improvement: With such a special experience and with all the attention to detail, the attachment of the "entrance curtains" could have been designed a little more lovingly (e.g. with beautiful curtain rods instead of wooden pegs). Fondue Igloo: Beautiful igloo rooms, great dinner and friendly service. Morning buffet: Nice, clear buffet with friendly service. Conclusion: Nice experience and recommended!

Really great atmosphere! The igloo is beautifully designed on the inside. The fondue is super tasty and the whole thing is reasonably priced.

The fondue igloo is of course only open in winter, but the restaurant is open and the Engstligenalp is always worth a trip.

It was our first time in the igloo and we had a really nice evening. Everything is lovingly designed and the service was quick and friendly. If you are in the area you shouldn't miss this experience. The apple punch is highly recommended. Another plus point is that you can take your dog with you.

A wonderful experience! The atmosphere in the igloos is magical and the sculptures and snow carvings create a special ambience. The service was courteous and attentive in every way. Never at a loss for a saying and very entertaining. The fondue was amazing! The paprika, pepper and herbs on the table are a great idea, so everyone can “dress” their fondue as needed. Thank you Bruno! The visit was worth it, we would love to come back.

Beautiful place and just something very special. Unfortunately, it was a bit complicated with ordering and service. The bread for the fondue came too late, then too little. The reorder was forgotten, as was the dessert. Since it seems to be discretionary, the process and service could be made much simpler and, for example, a bread basket could be set up in the igloo on site. According to the comments, the problem has existed since last year.

The fondue isn't great... there's no garlic in it. You have to pay for the cherry... The igloo is very beautiful.

I received this new experience as a gift. I arrived and was very impressed with this place. The interior is really very beautiful and done really well. As soon as you enter you find a reception room, then a long corridor made up of various entrances to access the various rooms where you can sit comfortably to eat. Each room is made up of tables, chairs and blankets to protect you from the cold. The inside of the igloo was not too cold compared to the outside temperature which reached -10 degrees. Eating is comfortable, the tables are really well prepared, the waiters are kind and helpful. I tasted both the fondue with mushrooms and the normal one and I found the version with mushrooms much better. A wonderful experience for both couples and families with children. To do once in a lifetime

Excellent fondue in a real igloo on the heights of Adelboden. Climb by cable car to start, then after a few steps in the snow we discover this enormous igloo with its several rooms with different atmospheres and sumptuous sculptures on the walls. Great moments to absolutely experience 🥰

A great idea to treat yourself to cheese fondue in an igloo. Each igloo has its own charm, equipped with matching furniture. This is the second time I've been there and not the last time. Great idea with really fine fondue 🥳

When one comes to the mountains, one must eat fondu. That's just the rule. When searching for fondu restaurants this one came up as THE ONE to see. So, we took the bus here (which actually wasn't super clear) and then took another gondola up to have a nice meal at Fondue Engstligenalp. The whole experience was a lot of fun. We were invited to have a drink (gluewein, of course!) at the bar before sitting down at the restaurant. We ordered some hot tea and white wine. The fondu was very delicious and we were happy. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because they took our order last and ran out of the pickled vegetables. I'm sorry, but I'm someone that needs a nice, crunchy, vinegary addition to my creamy, heavy, warm fondu. The waitress explained that they pickle all of their vegetables themselves and they simply ran out. Um. No. If you run out you should have som Migros/Coop backup pickled veggies because I would gladly take those over nothing. Anyway, for me it was just sad because the combination makes the meal sooooo much more enjoyable. Next time hopefully they have their pickled vegetables... or they let us order first.

Mega experience!!!! An impressive location where you can't see any of its splendor from the outside. It's amazing how huge it is inside. The staff is super attentive, very friendly and quick. Despite the ice and snow, everything is very cozy and lovingly furnished. The fondue was delicious - big compliments to the baker of the bread! We'll definitely be back next winter (and we're from Leipzig!) and we'll bring the rest of the family with us too. Many thanks to the whole team at Engstligenalp!😀

We were in the fondue igloo on Engstligenalp last weekend. Of course this is an absolute highlight. We really liked the atmosphere and the design. The fondue was very mild and could have been spicier according to our taste. But overall it was tasty. The drink selection was also good and the staff was very friendly. We wrapped up warmly for the evening (ski equipment), but were a little cold at the end of the evening. So I can only recommend that everyone dress warmly :-).

The igloo itself is very beautifully made and you can see the effort that went into building it. But the fondue was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. Neutral in taste, cheese is excessively stringy, ... And anyone who has the idea of ​​mixing a portion of whipped cream into a fondue should be severely punished. The bread was also not fresh and tasteless. The price is also too high for a good fondue and a disgrace for a bad one. There will be no next time for me.

We booked another night in the igloo and the hotel to eat fondue. Everything was very good. The atmosphere of eating and sleeping in the igloo was unique. Another highlight for us was the sauna, small but nice and cozy. A good feeling to cool off in the snow. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good and plentiful and most importantly, the café is good 👍 I would be happy to recommend you 👍

Were in the igloo for the first time. Was a very nice experience. Had a bit of a cold, but we knew that from the information on the website. The fondue was very tasty! Will definitely come by again.

With a lot of anticipation and with new guests, we looked forward to visiting the good fondue and the beautiful igloos for the third time. Unfortunately, this was the disappointment of the day. The fondue was served as usual and we were allowed to watch the cheese being overcooked because the bread was served a good 25 minutes later. Unfortunately, the joy was gone and so was the fondue. Our mood was also in the dumps and it was the first and last for the new guests sometimes like us, it's really a shame. There was no information or apology from the staff at all!!

Today was the third time in the igloo with our boys and unfortunately it was a total failure. After being completely satisfied twice, I have to say today it was total frustration. The fondue came relatively quickly but then we waited 20 minutes for the bread and then the fondue was a failure. Furthermore, Covid is not known here, not a single check of the certificate is a shame for everything and we will refrain from doing this here in the future.

Fondue tasted very good. There are enough drinks to choose from. Only 2 or 3, but it's enough... who wants to eat a generous amount of dessert after fondue? You should definitely wear warm shoes and take a scarf and hat with you. I was missing music in the background...

It wasn't bad but I honestly hoped for more. The aperitif was simply served in closed glasses, there were longer waiting times when waiting for the food. The ambience was great but be careful where you sit, there are a lot of drips from the ceiling in some places which isn't really comfortable!😉

We were in the fondue igloo on Saturday March 16th, 2019. The cheese mixture is amazing and the service is very friendly and very accommodating. The igloos are a real feast for the eyes. Unfortunately the bread is a disappointment. We still had bread from the day before in our basket! 😒 (It was probably all night in the igloo) We think that a fondue would taste significantly better with less stale bread.

Extremely well done with the different interiors. The fondue is very good, even with a second helping. Very friendly and attentive staff. Even though they do three or four shifts a day. The sleeping igloo is also very impressive. It's great that you can visit it freely. Everything is really worth the trip!
