We celebrated a birthday here last week. The fondue was exceptionally delicious, and the cozy ambiance made our celebration special. Great service too. Highly recommended for a memorable experience.

Very relaxed atmosphere, humorous and flexible service people, the menu is a bit clear, but in my opinion appropriate. I enjoyed sitting in the restaurant or on the terrace and watching the train slowly arrive up close.

Most expensive bratwurst of my life

We went for family brunch on a Sunday. Personally, I think an hour and a half is too short. They offer brunch in 3 shifts - which somehow doesn't fit the price/performance level because you can't try/eat that much. My email requesting a different time was only answered 1 day after we were there. You can't reach anyone by phone. Service was a bit chaotic - when I ordered a latte macchiato I first got an Ovi and then a bowl. And a hot chocolate came for the Ovi we ordered. I don't think I would go to brunch again.

Cool alternative to Uetliberg. A lot more comfortable. Fine aperitif. (2016) Update: newly set up, new name: but is that better? Had to deduct a star because a) I tried to reach Hillz by phone all week, at different times of the day, unfortunately without success. The online reservation also didn't work, despite confirmation. The Hillz ear is around 1/3 full, but the staff is completely overwhelmed. Sometimes we had to wait 20 minutes for a coffee. And the apple tart, which was 1/4 cut on the buffet, could no longer be ordered as they would need the rest for the upcoming brunch, much to my daughter's disappointment. The location is otherwise very cool and the food is very good. I'm convinced that the staff will get used to it and things will get better. The potential is certainly there.

Not a good restaurant at the foot of the mountain, facing the train station - period. There isn't a wide variety of options for lunch, but it's good food in a super cute and cozy place. Very friendly service despite my order being wrong. Anyway, it was very tasty and the beer was cold.

We had a company event with a fondue party. The fondue was really delicious. We would have been happy with a white wine from Valais or Vaud. But otherwise everything was really great. The staff particularly stood out. You feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you.

We had a wonderful event at Hillz. We ate fondue, some had burgers and finally a delicious dessert. All dishes were very good. The service was very courteous and attentive. Would book at Hillz again immediately, both privately and with a company team.

This was probably the best brunch we've ever been to. It felt like 98% of the things were homemade and were explained lovingly by the chef with completely deserved professional pride. It was really nice to meet someone who really enjoys his work and does it well. The rest of the staff was also great, the food was incredibly tasty and the price was reasonable. In addition, you could pay by card, as is normal today. We'd love to come back.

We came by for a drink and found out about the brunch. A wonderful buffet with a great selection of bread, cheese and meat and a range of warm and cold plates. Very good value for money and very nice service. Check it out next time you are up on Uetliberg on a Sunday morning.

So far everything was okay except for the payment. There were six of us at a drink. The Hillz is dead for us and we always pay for our food and drinks in cash.

Super cozy atmosphere, really good food and the view including a breathtaking sunset was the culmination of a wonderful visit to the restaurant. I can only recommend it from the bottom of my heart.

We rented the whole restaurant for one evening and ate fondue. The staff was really friendly and the fondue/salad were great too. They also offer some vegetarian dishes. Highly recommend eating there!

Delicious homemade pastries with great views and pleasant service

As a birthday surprise we went to Hillz. When you arrive in the dark, the restaurant is rather inconspicuous from the outside. The welcome was very warm and the atmosphere was cozy and familiar. We were recommended the fondue - house mix - with bread and various extras. A great choice, one of the best fondues ever. The portions were large and a supplement was happily served. The drinks were also great, especially the winter Aperol, a house creation. The staff was very friendly, attentive and you felt like you were staying with friends. A very successful evening and certainly not our last visit to Hillz. Thanks to the whole Hillz team.

No, I don't think it's good, you have to look at the cake at the front, but it's not self-service, but you have to walk up to the front and order, you give incorrect information about pastries. No order would be taken outside, service was messed up. At least the coffee is good

The reasons you listed for cashless may be true, but I still find it very unfortunate because every company that introduces cashless payment transactions contributes to digital control of society in the medium to long term.

We were there for a team meal and, in addition to a very tasty wild mushroom salad, we had various fondues (truffle, mushroom, house mix). Accompanied by a suitable wine, recommended by the service and finally a delicious dessert that was far larger than expected. The various accompaniments to the fondue were also partly surprising but absolutely appropriate. Attentive service with a lot of humor, which always put a smile on our faces. Gladly again.

Great way to wrap up my 7 miles hike. Located at a train station, I decided to have a drink when waiting for my ride, so glad I did. Staff was friendly, served crackers to go with my wine and did not rush me at all. Couldn't wait to go back for a meal. Will recommend.

Cozy evening with very tasty fondue and wine Our visit (end of December 2023) to Hillz was a complete success. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed evening with friends. The highlight of the evening was definitely the delicious fondue, which was very well received by both us adults and the child who was there. The wine suggested by the staff went perfectly with the fondue and made the culinary experience complete. We were impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. After dinner we sat comfortably outside by the fire and enjoyed another glass of wine. This restaurant is undoubtedly a must for anyone who wants to round off their visit to the Üetliberg with a cozy get-together with delicious food. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

Some of the best food in Europe! The staff were also the most friendliest we’ve encountered. Had both dinner and breakfast here whilst staying at the Top of Zurich Hotel. Highly recommend eating here over anywhere else nearby.

The barley soup and the latte macchiato were very tasty. Very friendly service, thank you. Very easy to reach with the Uetlibergbahn from Zurich main station. The Hilti is right next to Uetliberg train station.

Yesterday we were able to enjoy a fondue with great bread, and a sumptuous dessert was included for free, thank you! The restaurant was full but thanks to the clever table layout it was not cramped and very comfortable. The service is impressive: nice, uncomplicated and quick! Waina Domi Mirij and Sam you did a great job!

I eat great food 🤗 Friendly staff, full of stress, I think 1-2 more employees would be better for the team. I think they forget about the reservation and that's how it is. Han no mini bag forgot in the resti and han glows first of all it's not professional so pick up the phone and more than that she's lying to me back aaa and unfortunately she's lying to hans. I myself go get hans found and I think it's boring so hard gsi quickly go close that's why I send them to the hands of two staff.

The food is good. I like the ambience too. But I've rarely seen so many service staff in a restaurant who do so little and waste so much time when there's hardly anything going on. When we visited, only half of the order came because we weren't sure what was ordered and then something was completely forgotten and we had to ask again. What they don't have under control with service skills on the Hillz, they at least make up for with friendliness. That's why 4* despite everything.

A place by the entrance door is not very pleasant, and the balcony door was simply left open, drafts in winter are ugly. Service is attentive, what comes out of the kitchen is very fine, the portions are not too big. Selection of red wines very limited.

The deer pepper was very tasty, The service was first class. I was treated very hospitably by the two ladies Waina and Domi. Since there wasn't much going on, Sam the operations manager introduced himself briefly and offered me a coffee. I will definitely visit this restaurant and the ambience more often.

Hillz Is a cozy restaurant at the foot of the Uetliberg. The Hillz restaurant is right when you get off the S10 Uetlibergbahn. The food tastes good.

Nice address at the S10 terminus. It’s a shame that the brunch menu offered on the website is not the same as on site, this creates disappointment when you arrive. But the waitress was very friendly and quickly made us forget this inconvenience. In the end, we were able to have a nice breakfast with scrambled eggs, croissants and avocado toast. The wild berry pancakes were excellent. The place is Kinderfreundlich. The atmosphere and decor are really very pleasant. We will come back !

14.50.- for an Aperol Spritz? It's even cheaper at Sprüngli on Bahnhofstrasse! And then there's still no way to pay in cash...sorry for me.

Cozy restaurant right at the “Uetliberg” stop and a welcome contrast to the often overcrowded self-service restaurant on the Uetliberg. Very friendly, motivated employees who sometimes take a little longer to serve the drinks. Very good price/performance ratio for a destination like Zurich's local mountain. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sunshine and watching the visitors come and go. We would love to come back 👍👍👍

I visited this place on 20.07.2018, Although we did not buy anything from this restaurant since we consume Halal food but the old guy (probably one of the chef) was very kind to warm our homemade food in the microwave. Moreover he gave us the plates and offered us to sit in the restaurant while eating.

Great ending after a day in Zurich! We arrived at the top by bus because the train was not running due to a malfunction, but host Sam made it a pleasure by giving us a real VIP treatment, after all there were few other guests. He first referred us to the phenomenal view of the city before we sunk our teeth into the delicious cheese fondue. We finished with a dessert big enough for the two of us and then received tips for continuing the trip. Thanks Sam!

It used to be really good, but the last two times it was a total mess!! The orders were taking too long, the bill came wrong, the service were terrible and the worst part is that my husband and I ate something that made us sick the rest of the weekend! I will never take my guests there again, the kiosk on the hill is way much better!!!!

You will find the friendly restaurant right at the terminus of Üetliberg. The service was super nice and the dog immediately received a bowl of water and a few cuddles. Vegan options are clearly marked. Brunch is likely to be added to the menu and vegan fondue will also be tried in winter.

We really enjoyed the Sunday brunch and the very generous and delicious portions. The staff was very friendly and attentive and responded to our special requests (espresso martini, although not on the menu, etc.). We really appreciated the Prosecco refill that was offered. We'd love to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Hillz. On Sunday lunchtime we really enjoyed the delicious dishes from the brunch menu (bagels, breakfast basket, falafel, fries). The staff was extremely courteous, quick and always in a good mood. Not only was the food very tasty, we were also pleasantly surprised by the value for money, especially considering the conditions in Zurich. With the warm temperatures we were able to sit outside in the pleasant shade and enjoy the time to the fullest. We're looking forward to coming back.

Quiet, easy-going, splendid if not spectacular location (the arrivals of the trains are not a bit disturbing), good food. After the name change to Hillz the service improved a lot. I would particularly like to thank the lady who was kind enough to chase us for 50 meters because I had forgotten the special water bottle for the dog to drink! Thank you! Attention you only pay with cards. Not with cash.

It's a cute place at Uetliberg if you want to stop for a drink or a quick bite. It is a bit pricey but they make their money off tourists and visitors so no real surprise. We ordered hot chocolate and a plate of fries but we didn't get the fries because the kitchen had some issues. The server was very sweet about it though.

I celebrated my birthday at Hillz with friends. Sam and his co-workers did an excellent job of creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Everything was perfectly organized, the service was kind and professional with a personal touch, and the kids got to create their own pizza. You get a beautiful view from the outside of the restaurant and there's a big playground for kids, which is nice for families but it's also not too close so you still get to enjoy the quiet. Also, the prices are very fair, and the menu offers some great Swiss classics. All in all, it's a hidden gem on top of Zurich! Thank you Sam and team for a great day to be remembered.
