I never had such yummy dal rice. We really enjoyed such simple dish with lot of satisfaction. I would really want them to keep dal recipe as it is 😊

Great food, Service and atmosphere. It was one of the best Indian food we have ever had any where in the world! Rajish was great in his attentiveness to our table. Lamb Biryani and Lamb Rogan were absolutely delicious.the The atmosphere cozy and very home like. The Chef is right there cooking in plain view. Hope to make it again to Wengen and this restaurant soon.We recommend it 100%.

Had the Chicken Biryani, got to the last piece of chicken, which was also the biggest, and noticed it was pink in the middle. Cut out the pink part, and finished eating. That night, I spent 3 hours kneeling on the bathroom floor puking my guts up! 🤢 ******TIP........WHEN EATING CHICKEN, FIND THE THICKEST PIECE AND CUT THROUGH IT. IF IT IS PINK, DO NOT EAT IT ****** Shame about the reduced choice on the menu, but small kitchen. They only had one of the desserts that were on the menu! Swiss mountain prices... I was coming down from jungfrajoch to Luterbrunnen and was very hungry....downhill at Wengen station came to this hamlet town and this restaurant and had a spicy veg biriani with raita and it was perfect....Nice stopover for a quick rice indian lunch, they don't have tandoori here and hence no rotis I am told.

One of the best Indian restaurant meals I’ve ever had. It was also fast, restaurant is very clean, and wait staff is friendly. Definitely a must try! We got the lamb biryani, butter chicken, and sahbzee (sp?)

Very good Indian food in Wengen. This is the only Indian restaurant near Lauterbrunnen, but the chef was very friendly and prepared the food as per our requirement. Would visit again if in Wengen.

A cozy Indian restaurant with a great view. We had the best Biryani at this restaurant. The service was great and the hospitality was extremely nice. We had first visited their outlet in Grindelwald and were amazed by the impeccable taste there. We ended up having lunch at their outlet in Zermatt as well.

I had eaten at this restaurant in Zermatt before. After I came to live in Wengen, I found that there was also one in Wengen, so I went to experience it again. Ordered butter chiken, lamb briyani, mango lassi. I like mango lassi the most, not particularly sour, the taste is just right butter chicken has some butter aroma, the chicken pieces are large, and it is very fragrant when paired with rice Lamb briyani is ok The outdoor location we chose has a great view! ! !

They do not serve Roti. the waiter was reluctant to serve Indians, said he has only two pots to cook the rice. Had to leave with unfilled stomach. very disappointed. This is the only hotel that serve indian food in wengen. such hotels need a strong competition, only then can they value customers. PLEASE NOTE, BEEN TO OTHER GOLDEN INDIA RESTAURANTS IN SWITZERLAND, THEY STAY MILE AHEAD AND ARE VERY GOOD FROM THE ONE IN WENGEN.

This is the second Golden India restaurant in Switzerland, the first being in Zermatt. The food choices here were leaner with only rice and curries being on the menu with no breads available. We went for chicken biriyani and Palak paneer and rice. We were pretty hungry since our lunch was at 1pm or 2pm. So after nearly 6 hours of no food, these dishes tasted great. But objectively speaking, the food *was* good. They even asked me if I wanted my chicken biriyani spicy and made it too. The staff was very friendly and efficient. There is a good patio seating with a slice of the mountains viewable. The inside seating is less and a bit cramped, but still cozy. Keep in mind that Wengen being a car free town, you'll have to walk to and fro from your hotel to the restaurant. The roads are all twisty with up and down gradients. Better factor that in if you have a heavy dinner. Had a big glass of Rugenbrau and mago Lassi for drinks. The big beer glass for a surprise for me, but a good surprise. Gulab jamoon for dessert was good too. But again, we were famished. The other option was mango kulfi.

One of the worst services given. We were not allowed to have tea/samosa / and snacks. They told us until u order main course you cannot sit here. In swiss where hospitality is at its highest this is the opposite.

Great food, but don’t order the martini. It’s just a splash of vermouth in a cup.

We arrived around 8pm and sat inside. It was clean with a cozy atmosphere.There is a nice seating area outside as well. The service was quick, polite, and very professional. The server checked on us multiple times. The prices are expensive, but that is expected. We ordered the chicken briyani and the palak paneer. The spice level can be adjusted to taste. We expected a low quality taste because of the location, but it was better than expected! The food came quickly. The briyani had more chicken than expected which was nice. We also ordered the mango lassi which had a nice yogurt flavor. The long straw makes it look smaller than it is. The potions were good for us, but heard another group ask for another portion of rice. To some, the portions size may be too small.

Strictly mediocre food that goes with equally mediocre service. They are the only Indian restaurant in Wengen and they won't let you forget that.

Not the best, but it is Wengen, so hard to be too critical. If you like real Indian food, this isn’t the spot… this is definitely tailored towards tourists who are afraid of heat & spices. Good atmosphere though.

Very good food in the valley. We tried biryani and butter chicken and they were both very well done. The place doesn't serve naan and that was surprising since naan, to me and many, is an integral part of Indian food. Outdoor seating with the excellent views is an added plus. #halal

Wonderful butter chicken and they even gave us more rice for free. Definitely pricey. But great view from the patio. Friendly cook and service. Seemed like one of the best food choices in Wengen.

We had dinner here with family after a full day hike. Excellent service, very quick. Food was fresh and warm. Taste was traditional and familiar. On top, it was Halal as well. Highly recommended

We had an early dinner in this small Indian restaurant in Wengen. You do need to book unless you get lucky and this was our second attempt at eating here. I asked if they could recommend a dish with the same spiciness as a Korma, as they didn't have that on their menu. They made me on especially, and it was one of the best I've ever had. My family are braver than me and had spicier meals and enjoyed theirs too. We would all recommend persisting to eat here while in Wengen.

We arrived just as some light rain started and the waiter was very accommodating and seated us very quickly. The food was amazing - don’t sleep on the palak paneer!

Food is fine , unfortunately you don't have much choice of Indian restaurants , they usually don't have anything other than dal , chicken biryani at peak hours .

We have ordered three plates chicken butter, bryani, and beef ragu I believe and they were all excellent. The place does not serve naan bread. That is the only negative thing about the place.

My wife and I traveled to the Swiss mountain town of Wengen for adventure in the Alps. My better half and yours truly also lived in Delhi, India in the early 2000's so we are quite familiar with Indian cuisine. With that in mind, we were enchanted by the quality of the food at Golden India. The butter chicken was fantastic and the dahl makani was wonderful as well. The restaurant has both indoor or outdoor options. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The prices were a tad expensive, but the quality delivers on the Indian meal. Translation, you get what you pay for. My final dining tip, you may want to make a reservation as this establishment can fill up fast as they have 12 to 15 tables combined inside and out.

Really good Indian restaurant in the heart of Wengen. We are very regular indian food eaters in UK and can say the food here is as good as almost anything we have had. The menu is small, but there's enough of a selection and the service was very friendly. Highly recommend the Butter Chicken. There's not many tables, so arrive early or make a reservation.

An Indian restaurant without any Indian breads like Naan, Chapati, Paratha. All they had was rice and curries. In rice, biriyani wasn’t authentic at all. We felt the price was too high for the taste & quality.

Decent Indian restaurant in Wengen. It was nice to have an option different from Swiss or Italian food on our vacation. Service was good. Food was average.

We had an average experience at this restaurant. First of all, the tastes were okay. We really mean that they were average. I am sure you can find more satisfactory Indian food in other cities/countries. Given the fact that there is not many options in Wengen though, makes this place still a viable option. The 3 main courses we ordered were different than each other, but except for Butter Chicken (which was the only food above average) tasted the same sadly. Not enough spices and the tastes were not enough. Especially thinking about the food amount and the tastes, we found the prices unreasonably high as well. But again, it's Switzerland Alps and sometimes some prices aren't reasonable at all. There was a strange thing though. As soon as we got in, our son (knowing that we are in an Indian restaurant) talked continuously about his favorite drink, Mango Lassi. The waiter was kind enough to bring one lassi for him even before we ordered any food. We thought 'How nice, it's probably complimentary'. But it was not. They charged us for that lassi which they brought themselves. We didn't care that much as we were going to order it anyways. But please be aware that if you serve something without your customers ordering it, it feels like that is complimentary. So, given the tastes, prices and strange attitude, it was a rather dull dinner for us.

This is a hidden gem in Wengen. Food was not at all "pretentious indian" with shehnai music or brass buckets. Food was flavorful with no unnecessary spices, and it really felt like home. We had Paalak Paneer, Daal Tadka & Shahi Paneer which were served with Rice (the restaurant does not serve Roti/Naan etc). Would definitely visit it next time in Wengen.

Fantastic all round. We went here for dinner on two out of our three nights in Wengen as it was that good. Service is very quick and friendly, food is absolutely delicious and the restaurant is small and quaint with an open kitchen. Good size menu and selection of wines and the restaurant is open late. Very cosy during our early spring stay - would recommend to anyone visiting Wengen.

Worst! Very rude and unwelcoming staff! You cannot count on the availability of good food here esp. vegetarian. Better to eat fruits from nearby supermarket and slip out of the village if you are looking for better Indian food.

A small but wonderful Indian restaurant located in Wengen, certainly some of the best Indian food either I or my wife have had. Definitely check out their vegetarian options which were full of flavour and satisfying.

Absolutely delicious home cooked Indian food. The Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh are to die for. All washed down with an icy cold Kingfisher. Friendly and attentive staff. Very highly recommended. Don’t miss it if you’re in Wengen.

Avoid it all costs. Tried 2 dishes, and both of them taste the same. There is no difference at all. They have a pretty small kitchen and they dnt have the bread. The serving quantity was also too less.

Who knew I would have to go to Wengen to have some great Indian home cooking!!!! This place is legit. Small, so make reservations, or do takeout, the food is not greasy and totally yummy! I didn't know that what I wanted most for after skiing was Chicken Madras!!!!

Not just the best curry house in the alps, one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of eating in. The Dal Tarka had a wonderful smokey flavor and the madras actually had a decent spice level. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Excellent food and lovely service. We received very helpful suggestions when placing our order - the selection of dishes was wide and quite rich. The food tasted spectacular and the portions were just fine. The restaurant is rather small and cosy with a homely atmosphere.

Disappointed with Google info. Finally no food after believing this restaurant today. if you are closed, update the same in google too. Btw reopens at Dec 15th.

There is no Tandoor, so that means no Naan or Roti and the place is expensive. However, the food is heavenly delicious. Comes with Rice options and is a great cozy place to dine in.

Very delicious Indian restaurant I ordered butter chicken, chicken appetizer, rice and two cokes. The account is 56 francs. The service is fast and the food is fresh and prepared at the time of order. Their menu is limited, meaning there is no tikka masala.

Best Indian food we’ve had in the Interlaken region. We were exhausted from a long hike and the food really hit the spot. The paneer was super fresh. There was a slight miscommunication regarding a type of lentil dish we ordered but they gave us what we ordered free of charge even when we objected to having another one cooked. Amazing service!

The best Indian restaurant in Wengen! Food was good but limited menu. No Naan bread at all! Being from the UK, where there are plenty of quality Indian restaurants, I was disappointed with the content of the menu. I had a chicken madras and rice, which is included in the price. Curry was decent but not quite UK level.
