I was very surprised to eat such delicious Chinese food. The tom yum soup was also very delicious. After chatting with the chef, I found out that the chef is the 28th best Asian chef in the world. I am really lucky. The praise from Taiwanese people ! You must eat here if you come here

Extremely rude owner who insulted me and shouted in my face for not noticing that the menu said cash only (in German). Food was very plain. Waiter got my order wrong then blamed me. Thirty minutes later I have an upset stomach, a likely case of food poisoning poisoning.

The food in most restaurants in Mürren consists mainly of simple meat dishes and is quite disappointing, but this restaurant is exceptional. Each dish has its own unique sauce flavor, juicy meats, and plenty of vegetables. Please remember that only cash payment is accepted! It's written boldly on both the menu and the sign outside the shop. Today, there was an altercation when a single male customer tried to make excuses and leave without paying.

The food is delicious and expertly prepared with a smoky wok flavor. The Singapore rice noodles with prawn are a must. That is very kind and let me pay in a combination of currencies I had on me.

Food is good..but need to improve service. No card payment allowed and only cash is being taken....so not good in today's Digital world.

My recent visit to this restaurant had both positive and negative aspects. While the food quality was decent, the service left much to be desired. We were asked to order our own food, which was an unexpected self-service approach. Unfortunately, attempts to communicate with the staff were met with indifference. The overall experience was a mix of satisfactory and disappointing elements.

Make sure you bring CHF. We paid 7 Eur for a 4 CHF drink after their insane conversion rate.

Humble chinese restaurant in Mürren owned by Singaporean-Malaysian couple. We went there because Tham was the last restaurant that was opened in Mürren on Christmas' eve. To our surprise, it turned out to be a very good late lunch for us. We ordered fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp, black pepper beef, fried duck with bbq sauce and shrimp curry, which were very tasty. Everything were freshly cooked right in front of us and the hostest was super friendly and accomodating to our group of 8 people. Just be ready with cash as this place does not take any cashless payment.

Went to this place on a very rainy day in Murren when almost every other restaurant in Murren was closed for the day - most establishments close in town at 5 pm. It was walking distance from our hotel on our first night in town after a long day of travel from Paris. The portions were small and the taste was okay - we had veg. Fried rice and Veg Lo Mein noodles. The bill came to 40 Euros/Swiss Francs - Got charged an extra 1.5 Swiss Francs for a small leaky hot oil pouch. This restaurant does not accept cards - cash only. Suffice to say, we made other arrangements for meals during the rest of our 4 day stay in Murren.

Simply fabulous. The Szechuan beef was very flavorful and very quick. We've eaten at most of the restaurants in Murren, and we both think this is as good as the fantastic dinner of Rosti we had elsewhere here. For dessert we had the fried bananas, simply exquisite. This is a great chef here. We tried to get a table here on three separate nights and the place was packed.

Not traveler friendly. Rude staff. Unless you’re staying in Mürren, it’s a 30+ min travel.

Frau Tham and her husband run a wonderful establishment. The customer service, food and atmosphere were quite refreshing as we traveled through Europe. Considering their location in the mountains of Switzerland, it was a true surprise to find something this authentic. The homemade sambal alone should be reason enough for any travelers to try this restaurant. Frau makes you feel like family and everything is prepared freshly and correctly with great umami and wok hei. Our trip is not done yet, but it may be safe to say it's the best meal we had in France, Switzerland or Italy.

If you want some chilli and from Singapore you have to come here !

Surprised to find pretty decent Chinese / Thai food in a small Swiss village! The couple who runs it is very nice and hardworking. We ate with many “regulars” — some have been coming for over 13 years. The fried banana dessert is incredible.

We were visiting Mürren for the day and wanted a well known/tasty restaurant. There were places around with better views, but this little restaurant is well worth the AMAZING FOOD. I never right reviews but I was just in awe. The owners are very nice, they cook right there in front of you and the food was amazing. Highly recommend: sweet and sour chicken, fried noodles

Restaurant run by a charming couple from Singapore for 30 years. The food is very good and the service is excellent! I completely recommend it if you come to Murren!

Stopped for lunch while walking through Murren. Service was quick and super nice. The wontons were the star of our meal, probably the best wontons that I’ve ever eaten. Now I am sad because I will crave them when I am back home!

Favorite restaurant in Murren. Love the Thai beef curry, black pepper beef, and sweet sour chicken. Fun to have some variety of food choices in Murren. Really caring and honest mom and pop owned shop! They give full serving of meat every time and will say they are out of meat instead of filling up with vegetables. They also change the fried oil after every fried dish. Since they are a team of 2 people, you may have to wait for food. Be patient and enjoy the good food. Remember cash only (usd, euro or francs all accepted)!

This was our favorite restaurant during our 2 weeks in Switzerland! We ate here 5 nights in a row. Being Singaporeans we always get homesick for Chinese / Asian food when we travel but because of Chef Tham’s delicious food we did not experience that! Every dish we had was fantastic, especially the fried wonton, black pepper beef, and sweet & sour chicken. If we ever return to Mürren we will definitely visit Chef Tham’s restaurant again.

Yummmmm. Very good food. Overall, food sucks in Switzerland but this place was really good. Use the spice and sweet and sour they give you.

The food was prepared well. The atmosphere is cozy. And the owners, what a terrific people. So welcoming and nice, it made the experience all the better. Please go and visit them, they deserve every customer they get. On my next visit will definitely come back.

We had to wait an hour, then the food was weak and saltless. Staff was not treated nicely, we ordered first and 4 others after us received the food earlier. not neat.. unfortunately.

It's a great Chinese restaurant and you can finally get some spicy food

I have eaten here before and remember really liking it. Recently came back for a 10 day stay and when they said cash only, we initially walked out. Came back days later with Euros (they accept that and US along with Swiss Francs) and so glad I did. As I remembered the food is exceptional. Szechuan Chicken was incredibly tasty. Green Curry Chicken was also really good. We also ordered a Pak (Bok) Choy vegetable dish for the middle to share and it was perfectly cooked and delicious on its own. We have one full day left in Murren and now we must go back and eat here again. I wish there was a Chinese place with food this good in Orlando, Florida where we live.

Amazing service and food. The owners were so kind and went above and beyond for our family. It is cash only and we were a few Francs short due to the one ATM in town being broken. We were only going to order meals for our kids to stay within our budget, but the owner insisted that everyone in our party have a meal. Not only did they go above and beyond for us, but the food was absolutely amazing. We left all of our plates empty. Thank you to the kind owners! We had such an amazing and memorable meal.

Perched on top of Murren, this is probably the only Chinese restaurant available here and they know it. The food was honestly pretty mediocre for the price I paid. It's pretty much all self serve so don't expect any decent service, you'd need to pay for that. Probably better to save your money if you can, lots of reviews are skewed because by the time you get here you are probably starving and would eat anything!

Unfortunately below my expectations after reading such rave reviews. It's a pretty standard fare Asian food you'd find basically anywhere. I can understand why people would give it such high rating though, Murren is an amazing place that is fairly difficult to get to, so finding an Asian restaurant among all the Swiss ones gotta be exciting! So to be honest in my reviews, I really can't give it a high score. Meh food, no service to speak of really, okay atmosphere since it's in Murren with all the happy tourists around.

Reasons for deductions: - Small portion - Overpriced (even for Switzerland standard) - Subpart taste (just your standard over-sauced dishes) - Lack of service (no eye contact, dropped the dish on table so hard the soup splattered, and no apologies of course) Okay I get you want some Asian food after hiking and everything tastes better when you are hungry, but really let's be objective here.

It’s a very good restaurant. The hot pot is delicious and the price is good. The boss and the lady boss are talkative and polite~~ I learned more during the conversation and ate super delicious food during the trip. Seriously, wow. I don’t write reviews much, but this is special. How in the world do you find this good of food in a tiny town in the middle of Switzerland? The family that runs this is wonderful, truly a joy to eat here. We got lucky and it wasn’t to busy… can imagine this place gets packed because of lack of food options. If you come across a busy time… feel yourself getting a tad upset…. chill out people, 99% of you are on vacation… act like it.

Don’t come to Mürren without eating here. We’ve been in Switzerland for five days now and walked away from this meal feeling the most satisfied out of all the meals we’ve had. We lived in Asia for 17 years and then spent the last year back in the US. This was like comfort food to us. I’m sad we’re leaving Mürren tomorrow (for many reasons). I wish we’d eaten here last night as well.

I traveled back to Murren from Tampa just to come to Tham’s. It’s an unassuming place but the it’s the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The BBQ duck and fried wontons alone are worth the trip!

Tldr; I went in to say hi, wanting to ask how long the expected wait time is. They immediately and rudely asked me to get out. I did not even get a chance to try their food. - I was in Switzerland on holiday, after spending 6 months in Europe on exchange. I haven't seen a Singaporean specific restaurant in Europe until now, and being Singaporean, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there's a Singaporean restaurant in Mürren. Also given the fact that I have not been back in singapore for the last 6 months, I was super excited to give their food a try. So I walk in to the restaurant. It's moderately busy but there are some empty seats here and there. The lady at the counter is busy settling another customer's bill, and the uncle is busy cooking at the back. I think to myself: "Ok I should ask them how long the expected wait time is." I wait until the lady is done, and then I greet her with a “老板娘” (translates to boss (feminine)). I decided to greet them in mandarin because they're Singaporean Chinese, so why not, right? She continues to keep doing her work, and I thought: "Okay she is busy, I can wait." I didn't mind waiting, because how often do you come across such a restaurant in Europe in the first place? So then, the uncle at the back walls forward, still cooking some food. I try to get his attention by saying “你好老板” (hello boss), wanting to ask him how long the expected wait time is. Without even looking at me, he straight up says: “不要跟我讲话。不在这里吃就走” (Don't talk to me. If you're not eating here, then leave) I was going to clarify that I wanted to ask how long the waiting time was, but the lady immediately followed up by saying: “别在这里搞乱” (Don't make a mess of this place) I was appalled. I'm not sure whether its just because I'm just some chinese foreigner (but they're chinese as well, and from Singapore. I'm from Singapore too! I wanted to have some Singaporean food!), or maybe I was dressed weirdly, or looked funny? Maybe they had bad experiences with other mandarin-speaking customers? But rudely asking me to leave, and implying that I was here to mess up their place was absolutely unacceptable. I just left immediately. I was disgusted and appalled. Simply a more courteous: "Sorry, we are a bit busy right now. Let me get back to you later" would have sufficed. And no, the meanings of their words were NOT lost in translation. There are definitely more courteous ways to say "We are busy right now" in mandarin. I arrived here pleasantly surprised, and excited to try out authentic Singaporean food cooked by another Singaporean in Europe. I left disappointed and ashamed that I had such an experience.

Incredible food—tried multiple items here recently, all good, especially the pork fried rice and lemon chicken. You can tell the ingredients are good quality, and the service was friendly too. Cash only.

Amazing!!!! The best meal we have had so far!! The Singaporean fried noodles, wonton soup, and fried wontons were amazing. Particularly spectacular was the black bean chicken! Honestly the best Chinese food I have ever had!!

Customer service - 5 We got immediate attention and a table to look at the menu for our take away order. My husband didn't have enough cash but they let us order while he went to the ATM. Food - 5 BBQ Duck was crispy and delicious! Asam chicken had the perfect amount of heat. We got Bok Choy as a side and it was yummy! It is pricey but you get a lot of food and it was so good!!

Authentic Singaporean and Chinese cuisine

The food here is fantastic and Tham and his wife are both extremely friendly. Will go there daily on my next trip to Murren.

We ordered fried rice and fried noodles, taste OK, a bit salty. The most important thing is that the portion is too small. Not worth and be prepared, you may need two servings to get full.

Thams has some super yummy food! Both he and his wife have a fun sense of humor. It's a very busy restaurant with pretty good prices.

Unexpectedly stumbled upon a Singapore restaurant at 3925m Murren peak 😁 We've been in Europe for some time and we crave of Singapore food. What a coincidence. We ordered beef fried rice €20, beer and ice cream. Nice wok hei fried rice. Definitely satisfied. The uncle and auntie are also friendly and kind. Highly recommended.

Wonderful restaurant with authentic chinese food. The chef is extremely talented ! I tried the wok fried rice and the szechwan chicken and, they were excellent. Their chilli sauce was very fresh and a must try. Overall, I have been to this restaurant multiple times and every single time their dishes were consistent and perfect !

This is a life saving restaurant for Asian in Switzerland !! Please support this humble restaurant by the lovely couple. They are extremely friendly and welcoming . The chef, keong, has 40 years cooking experience and used to work in prestigious Swiss hotel… we dined in and eventually also did take out to eat in hotel as dinner … this is authentic Asian cuisine restaurant not the one catered for westerners !! Tried their Tom yam, spring roll , wantan , deep fried duck, black pepper beef all good 👍👍👍 generous portion and reasonable price

I have been coming to Murren for years and every night we are there, we only eat at Mr. Thams!!! Best authentic Chinese food in the world!!!! I would travel across the world just for his fried noodle dishes and fried rice!!! Mrs. Tham is always running around helping and talking to customers. I visited with 4 people including children. While we continued to eat Swiss and Western food, we took a breather with Chinese food. All of the food was extremely delicious, and the couple who had been running the kitchen and hall for 30 years were very kind. Is good to have a place like this in the Switzerland mountains! We were able to eat here when everything else was closed. They accept USD, CHF and EUR Cash only but worth eating here. We ordered wonton soup and duck, it was delicious.

Singapore restaurant up here in Murren is quite unbelievable. The boss is from Singapore and was a chef before working in Switzerland for the last 30+years. The fried rice is your best bet. Well seasoned and tasty. The beef noodle is alright but works wonders in cold climate.

Best chinese restaurant in Mürren. Owner and his wife are friendliest persons I met in Mürren. The food is delicious. Our kids got some extra sweets, which made visit even more pleasant. Don't get fooled by not super fancy facade, it is really good what you get. It reminded me time when we were in China.

Absolutely exceeded my expectations. The rice in fried rice dishes is closer to Asia than daresay most establishments in Europe, soft and tasty. Friendly and helpful owners who also serve and cook the dishes themselves.
