Goldenberg in Winterthur

We only went outside for ice cream and coffee. The ice cream was delicious, as was the coffee, and the service was quick and good. I think when the plant world awakens it will certainly look very beautiful.

Beautiful location with a view of Winterthur

I would describe the food as good bourgeois. What bothered me was that almost all of the main dishes, whether meat or fish, were in a lot of oil. The service was prompt (sometimes everything was cleared almost too quickly) and nice. The view and the ambience are very nice, tidy and clean.

We held our AGM dirt for the second time. Great atmosphere, very nice staff, great view. I can only recommend.

See good food, served by friendly and motivated staff. We have always been and continue to be very satisfied. Thank you.

The restaurant can't do anything about the beautiful location, but the fact that the service is just as top(!) is a great pleasure and cannot be taken for granted. We always enjoy coming back. Lunch with friends, fine food at a very reasonable price, friendly service, being able to sit for a while after coffee without being thrown out on the street at 2 p.m.: these are just a few points why this establishment would have deserved a few more stars , simply outstanding! Enjoy a coffee and a piece of applesauce in the Goldenberg. Is there anything more beautiful? The ambience, the view and a friendly staff. The apple tart is great and is even served slightly warm.

Goldenberg is a beautiful place above the city of Winterthur. You can see across the entire city to Heiligenberg, Töss and See and Oberwinterthur. The food was also delicious and just good. Thank you again.

As I often do, I just look on the internet on a Sunday to see which restaurant is open and so we drove from Lake Zurich to Winterthur and definitely had another very positive surprise in this restaurant! With another very friendly reservation, we drove there according to the navigation and until now I have never heard, seen or read anything about this restaurant or this area high above Winterthur and for that reason alone we were extremely surprised, even though the weather was bad. When we got there, we were immediately escorted to a beautiful table that was already quite impressive with a white tablecloth and cloth napkins, and when we were allowed to study the menu it was finally proven that there are still restaurants with Stihl and with a selection of what others have Restaurants can only dream! Of course we hadn't already eaten from the selection, but what we got was really of the highest quality, even though there were two souls in the background that were completely full and there wasn't a single table around us available and it was just then possible to bring this quality , was really surprising and extremely satisfactory and more than exemplary! My sincere compliments and we will be going there again soon to eat because here in our area on Lake Zurich I don't know of any restaurant with this quality and this selection. I also grabbed the chef there and told him how great we thought it was because you really should pass on the compliments personally when you experience something so positive

The service is friendly in an unpleasant and false way. The customer is perceived as a commodity; there are too many tables around. Furniture is made of cheap material and the decoration is questionable. The food is carelessly prepared and presented. It's an incredible shame what they've done to this restaurant. A place in this location should be valued more!

When the weather is nice, the terrace is really a gem in Winterthur, fantastic. Very extensive menu, there is something for everyone. Quality of the food is impeccable. Certainly worth mentioning: Extremely friendly and prompt service!

Beautiful, large terrace with a wonderful view over Winterthur. Very attentive and friendly service. Great menu, fine food, good wine from Goldenberg.

Overall, the price-performance ratio is not right. The food was too bad to make up for it with the beautiful view. The food here was a failure. Beef tartare - Was okay Fitness plate with chicken - chicken was returned dry and replaced with sausage salad Beef stagliata - The quality of the meat was too low for the price. Sausage salad - It was okay as a substitute, but there is better on every Alp in the mountains. When I returned the dish because of the dry chicken, the price was not adjusted to the new dish (sausage salad). I find it cheeky. Certain dishes have pitted green olives as a side dish. I like all kinds of olives but these olives tasted horrible. The boss just thought that he didn't like these olives either but they were ojay. I think this attitude is bad and you should buy better ingredients.

Attentive, smiling, friendly service by a young gentleman. Ordered salad, aperitif and ice cream. Salad was fresh and crunchy. For main courses it was too expensive for us. Great view.

Waiter disaster. No greeting when ordering, I don't even know what's on offer. drinks warm. Sprite, for example, you noticed that the PET bottle has been open for days - no carbon dioxide - has nothing to do with Sprite anymore. Anyway, it's a shame that you can't get a glass bottle like you would with Cola for this price. The only thing that's good is the location. Awkward

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant. The waitress, who wears glasses, was just plain rude and condescending. She spoke with her back to us, as if our presence bothered her. What particularly bothered me was the fact that we were not told that tap water here costs a whopping 5 francs and that you are not allowed to order a single glass of water. This is really outrageous and an impudence. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout the entire visit. Really very sad......

Just had an Apéro outside on the shady terrace under old trees. Beautiful view on the town of Winterthur and the alps in the background.

Friendly welcome. Few guests yet. When I asked about a water bowl for the dogs, I was directed to a fountain. I didn't find this one. I filled an ashtray with water at a faucet. Only then was a bowl of water brought. First, the wrong food was brought (probably ordered incorrectly by the waiter). The food was good. When I paid I was asked if I would add anything else for the kitchen. We have been to the Goldenberg several times and have always been very satisfied.

What a place. Discover all the story around this "spot". We had a lovely walk to head the place by a sunny amazing day. In summer the terrace with literally a panoramic view is amazing. It is huge, with trees, service is perfect. Nice food. Prices are pri eles. No!!!! joking. The quality is excellent. A lot of waiter and waitresses. The surrounding is awesome. I will definitely not recommend the place because everyone will want to go and the prices will rises and 8t will be crowed and we will have to wait..... 😂😂No amazing place. Just go.

Food was good, prices were on the upper limit. Everything seemed a bit busy, so it didn't feel comfortable. Service was limited to the minimum. Since it's the only restaurant up there, you can probably afford it. The view of the city was great from there.

While the friendly service brings you the delicious food, you can enjoy the beautiful evening sun over Winterthur.

Very nice location. Service staff a bit unstructured and not very attentive. I had a fitness plate with chicken breast and herb butter. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't warm enough, so the herb butter didn't have a chance to run. A pity. Prices rather high.

It was beautiful and well prepared. The ravioli were fresh but didn't quite suit my taste. A matter of taste...

Beautifully located restaurant. Service was great!!👍I find it shameful for such a restaurant that the mixed salad had iceberg lettuce as the main salad on the plate at this time of year!! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Goldenberg Restaurant in Winterthur and my experience was nothing short of amazing! It's a beautiful restaurant with a breathtaking view of the city. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning soon. Goldenberg Restaurant is a place you should definitely visit if you are in Winterthur and want to enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience. 5 stars from me!

We come here very often and have now tried the entire menu and have never been disappointed. You can enjoy the beautiful view from the large terrace in summer. I would recommend booking in advance so that you can get a front row seat. Would love to come back

Very nice restaurant high above Winterthur. Staff very friendly, top 👍 the food was good, but rather average. Dessert menu unfortunately standard Mövenpick, nothing surprising. Certainly very nice in the evening in the large garden!

Food was very good. Organization chaotic. Tent location not nice. With a lot of rain it is unthinkable and we were placed there anyway. The path to the tent was very muddy and dangerous!

We eat here every few months and we love it every time. Great view and staff, for us the dishes are among the best in Winterthur (Schäfli and La Pergola can pack a punch). We particularly recommend the Riesling soup. We always like to return.

Best view in all of Winterthur. On the terrace as well as inside at the large window front. Good cuisine, rather large portions, cheap, professional staff. Small note: you need a biscuit for the coffee.

Everything was a bit dirty, from the tablecloth with sauce stains, to the pepper shakers that were dusty, to the chairs full of breadcrumbs (even though there wasn't much going on). Service is good, friendly and fast, we didn't eat anything this time...

We came here spontaneously for a late lunch, there were plenty of places available. Great view (terrace would also be wonderful in nice sunny weather), great service, very friendly and attentive! In my opinion, the menu is simply too “boring or normal” for such a location. Unfortunately, at least I liked the food that way. Price/performance is somehow not right.

The restaurant is in one of the best locations in Winterthur and I would have expected a little more creativity in the menu, let's see how it develops.
