Gonzo in Zürich

Super small with an expensive entrance fee and cash only wardrobe. Music was ok

If I want to go out with friends, I automatically go to Gonzo. A place where you feel comfortable and can party carefree. 10/10

By far the coolest club around Langstrasse. Underground vibes, music is always top tier, people are fun and easy going and the ones working there seem to have a fun time too. Love going there when I am in a mood for a cool night out!

Worked there months ago and haven't received any payment for it yet.

Little guy at the reception refused to let me and my girlfriend in after his atm machine did not work, after 10 minutes I told them I just leave my ID and pay laiter since their machine didnt work. He told me to shut up and go somewhere else if I could not wait. So we waited another 5 Minutes till I had enough and told them, In the time i was waiting we would have had 2 drinks already. After a long time waiting I told them goodbye too bad they did not want my buisiness. If I would be the owner I would have a talk with the cashier about deeskalation and how to handle paying costumers. The young guy told me on my way out: :" fick dich du spasti" ofcourse he talks to people like that since its nor his money that is lost.

Completely evil! It's a shame if the fun is taken away before you even get in. The Securitas couldn't be more power hungry and overloaded with testosterone... And we were 4 women. I don't even want to know how men feel.

I see there starting to turn people away from the club especially black people.... this girl at the front with the securities choosing who to inside.... never I spend money here again

The security should treat customers more with respect. They shouldn't play god with them. So you'll be able to dive into the club without any desire, thank you very much...

Love the location, the staff was always nice, you just need to know how to behave and all is fine. Only downside is the quality of the DJ's became so bad.. i don't care if your front row is going nuts, dj's can't mix or blend two songs properly. I wish some quality DJ's back.

Too many people, poorly managed

Bouncers allow colleagues to beat their guests for no reason if they feel even minimally provoked. Happened to us on March 3rd, 2023. Shame on the club.

almost went here while visiting zurich but then i got really tired and didnt want to.

Was nice once.... I'm a regular guest for years but seems they changed their staff. People on the door used to be super welcoming, not the case anymore.

Very good memory of the last visit to this club. Very good food and excellent cocktails. In my opinion one of the best clubs in Zurich. Only recommended. Keep it up 👍

A not very warm welcome, most of the people present are not very lucid. Place resembling the ghetto on a poorly traveled street. But can't please with its good music

The welcome is not great when you don't speak German, quite unsanitary place with a lot of crackheads in the street, but can even be cool for music, theme evenings or if you like drugs

What can I say...Gonzo Oh Gonzo! It might be a Umchreis favourite of all time. The underground Vibe is unique. The music is always well picked in no matter the genre. I personally love the Wednesday the most. One, because of the style of music the Trapped party got it's name for a reason and two, because it's not the typical night to go out to a club and therefore you don't meet the typical kind of people and the vibe is just different from a weekends night out. Also it's right next to the one of the coolest bars in Zurich (Fat Tony) which we will tell you about in another review. All that's left to say is: If you enjoy underground night clubs that are a bit dark and dirty to dance the night away with some friends and some drinks, than you can't go wrong with that location right in the middle of the notorious Longstreet in Zürich Downtown. We went there 3 women and 1 man, and the cashier told us to pay (20CHF/woman) and nothing for the man because "men don't pay when they bring women". This is misogyny and is completely unacceptable. Very disappointed of the club. Music ok.

Didn’t like the sound was just like a hit playlist from 2000-2021 which didn’t mtach at all. But the location is nice its like lowkey bunker vibes with the acid smiles all over the wall.

Once you get into it, it's actually always very entertaining. The atmosphere is a lot more relaxed than in other Zurich sheds

What happened here? Previously a guarantee of atmosphere, the sound here is now snarled by absolute beginners in a mainstream way and the atmosphere corresponds to the level of a stupid Sisha lounge. Really sad.

I like the place, but the the choice of DJ and logistics of the garberobe need improvement. The DJ should do a better job at sensing the crowd. People were walking off the dancefloor and he still continued playing his own, non-danceable stuff.

Worst place ever, please be aware that there are thieves in Gonzo one of them tried to steal my purse his hands were in my jacket and when i confronted him he disappeared. I mentioned this to staff and they were least bothered. Never expexted this I am so disappointed .

Great place, but the rudest upper staff on earth. especially the (fake) blonde tattooed lady at the bar. No 'thank you' for a tip, nor an answer to a question. really unnecessary. Pity. However, security is fair.

So people if you are in Zurich and want to spend a nice evening - just stay away from this shop, the day of the week is irrelevant. The bouncers give the impression that they are selecting, but when you look at the audience in the store you ask yourself what criteria they are using to do this. The bar is awesome and your ginger beer tastes like it was brewed by a first grader. Dear Gonzo - once and NEVER NEVER EVER again. The only good thing about your store is that the good alternatives are not too far away.

Today I was in this so-called discotheque... The security staff is visibly overwhelmed and probably has no competence (neither legally nor professionally) in any way. The location itself would be ok... however, as already mentioned above, the staff is less trained than a cheap wine in an upscale restaurant should be. No thanks. Once and never again

I traveled there from far away today because I wanted R&B and Gonzo was the only club with such an event, according to Usgang,ch. I had never been there before and was really interested and quite equipped with a good smart elegant outfit. I arrive, no line, but the bouncer points his finger next to the line and says "just stand there" Somehow you're not allowed to say please! lol Then a not well-groomed lady with a long black leather coat comes and says in dialect "Sorry, we have a special event today, that won't work"... I apologize, I've never been there before and I'm coming because of the event extra. She swings her head and says "Sorry". To be honest, the behavior was very third rate and it's a shame that such anti-social people decide about the entry of others on a Wednesday evening. There were other boys behind me who looked really unkempt, but they did The lady immediately allowed them to enter; it looked as if they knew each other. I travel a lot for work and have been almost everywhere. I hadn't experienced that for a long time. It's a shame that it happens in my country of all places. Never go to a club like that again.

This is one of my favorite places to go dancing in Zuerich. The club is super small, and the line tends to be long. Sometimes the bouncers can be picky, especially towards men. Wednesday night is absolutely fantastic. I have danced many a night there until the wee hours of the morning. Music goes direction hip hop, but mixes with many other genres intended to get you dancing. The weekend is just too packed for me personally, but I rate Wednesdays nights as one of the best dance parties in Zürich!!

Chic little club in the basement. Fine organic green tea from the bottle and really inexpensive beer for Zurich club standards. One of the few clubs where gentlemen can still meet nice ladies to dance and have fun. Good music. Séparée (smoking lounge). Comparatively clean toilets in contrast to other in-restaurants. We partied until dawn 😊

A very long queue of people being told the club was too packed to let anyone in, yet people were just walking up to the door and because they knew the doorman they could go in! We waited 30mins in the queue before realising it wasn't moving, when people left the club the guys on the door just let more of their friends in.

Great little club. And on top of that, absolutely fair drinks prices. Top.

Lots of fun dancing in the Gonzo! I prefer Wednesday or Thursday nights to Friday nights, the crowd seems somewhat friendlier. There's no cellphone reception inside.

You have to stay long lines outside even though the place is empty. Very agressive man and a blond woman at the door, absolut racists, even do not bother to enter if you are a foreigner. Avoid.

Really liked this club, inside it's filled with pop culture references, dark humour decor and a grungy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit, best Langstrasse club so far.

Something for every musical taste, almost cult. Not a fancy place, more of a place to shake your dance leg in an uncomplicated way.

Small, but incredibly complex program with all the concerts. However, Mauri & Co. don't make a big fuss about it, but rather let the Hunter S. living room attitude speak for itself. That only makes this gem of Zurich night gastronomy EVEN better.
