Harmonie in Bern

Very nice and well-kept place in the center of Bern. Welcoming and attentive staff. Typical dishes of the Bernese and Swiss tradition. The baked bone marrow is worth trying and the Albert rostì is very good. Advised!

Authentic Swiss cuisine. 1/2 tourists 1/2 old Bernese “city nobility”. Very great food. Friendly service, but not as harmonious as the name of the restaurant would suggest 😊. Jokes aside. Go and enjoy.

We were not able to taste the cuisine since we never received our order, after an hour and a half of waiting. Only dish eaten, a plate of cold meat… drinks included, many given the wait, 100.00 for 2 people

The restaurant is beautiful. The service was pretty slow and the food was okay. It wasn't bad, I mean we finished our lunches. But for as much as it cost, I was expecting to be wowed. And this was far from it. The menu for lunch was very limited and truly uninspired. There was fried food, salad, meat platter, split pea soup and a sausage. Nothing stood out as really special. I wouldn't go back.

Harmony is visually a beautiful restaurant. The price/performance level is not right for me and my companions either. You can also see in the photos of the plates what is missing. Vegetables as decoration are frippery and not filling. You don't need 3 pots with little in each. Complaining in the hospitality industry is usually a homegrown problem and could be solved internally if you wanted to. Not by not having to pay for something, but by ensuring that the customer is satisfied and full. Please reconsider and revise the calculation. The taste was okay. But that is not enough.

The food was okay(not impressive, sausage was too salty), but the service was horrible. Worst I’ve ever been experienced in any of the European countries. Ordered the traditional Swiss meal, got the cheese fondue with bread but without a spare plate(saw the costumers on another table got the plate..so it’s not like my ridiculous request or something). Had to use the tissue papers I brought myself to hold the little bread crumbs. Sausage comes with cheese and grills tools and stuff without introducing how you eat it, I looked obviously foreign and was obviously struggling with how to eat. Instead of introducing before hand, the lady chose to stop me while I was cooking it wrong, which was very embarrassing. Finally, asked the same lady to bring us the check two times, waited for over 10min and she didn’t even bother to come…worst experience ever… if you are a tourist and you don’t speak Swiss German, I definitely won’t recommend you to try the Swiss meal…cuz they just won’t tell you how to properly eat it until you did something wrong!! How hilarious…anyways, thanks for reading this comment and welcome to Japan…our country’s hospitality is far better than this!

Good food but the table service could have been better the person almost dropped my cordon bleu and we made the average age of customers younger by at least 20 years

Very well located restaurant, close to the Bern Clock Tower. The dining rooms are well decorated and comfortable. The Service is excellent. The food is very good.

We wanted to try fondue which cost 37 CHF on the menu. Once we got the bill, we learned that it was 74 CHF instead. Nowhere on the menu it said that the price is “per person”. We’ve been to many restaurants in Switzerland and all the other restaurants always highlight if the price is per person in their menu. Regarding the fondue, we didn’t enjoy it that much. Maybe it’s just us though. Definitely not worth 74 CHF.

Nothing for vegetarians, but they still found something. Rösti with vegetables also works. A real treat for meat eaters.

Every year again: fondue in harmony. But this year different: fondue moitié moitié good / fondue traditional not good. A pity! Whiteness and lots of prune very good. Service friendly, waiting times a bit long. Nice location. Try again next year! We have - nevertheless - already reserved.

We were able to warm up briefly at the Ziebalamärit with mulled wine and onion tart. Great atmosphere in the morning, cozy interior of a city pub.

Regular guests probably don't come as quickly after the concert. The kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.! A small portion of cheese slices is calculated as a normal portion, after all they still have the Villeneuve! Let's see if they still have the cherry cake and how dry it is. We bump into this place while walking the streets of Bern and we were in search of a fondue place and found this gem. If you are looking for the best fondue try this place. The service was great and the staff are amazing! Do try it when in Bern!

Why do you pay for fondue per person when there is only one pot at a table? Too expensive for 4 people. Makes different prices for 2, 3, 4 people.

Hundreds of people have been to this place, nice and welcoming, with friendly staff. But unfortunately we were disappointed with the fondue, like other customers whose reviews I read. We ordered two pickle and potato fondues for one and the sour and bitter fondue was almost all left over. We pointed this out but they still charged us for two fondues. I would say negative experience

The presented product should not be called cheese slices. More like a “sandwich with a slice of cheese.” White model bread with a slice of raclette cheese, without cucumber or onions... (for 21.-) Maybe a seminar in Valais would be useful here. We've been here and we're staying away.

We've been there many times and it's always been perfect. The last time we visited 2 weeks ago we were unfortunately negatively surprised, the owners have changed and the quality of the food was very poor. The Cordon Bleus no longer had any cheese in it, just a watery residue on the plate. The flesh is dry and tough, not edible. We then got new Cordon Bleus, this time veal and exactly the same here too, tough and without any taste. We were informed that they come ready-made from a butcher's shop and that we already know about them. That's why it's even more incomprehensible why it's still on offer. We ate a total of 3 bites each to try and still paid in full for the first order. Unfortunately, I was still hungry. What should be mentioned positively is that the chef de service was friendly and promised improvements.

We ate here with hopes of having some classic Swiss fondue. Very disappointed, neither my husband or I enjoyed it at all. It was so saturated with the taste of alcohol. They also charged us for two full fondues (they are $39 each) which we didn’t need/want. The service was also poor. Atmosphere was blah. Extremely overpriced, just skip it and go somewhere else!

We came for a late lunch around 1:15pm with a group of 4 people. There were very few other people in the restaurant. Even so, the service was incredibly slow and it took us more than 2 hours to finish. We ordered the menus (both regular and swiss). The food was too salty and the fondue was served only with bread, without any potatoes or other things you would usually get fondue with. The prices are also ridiculous (48 swiss franks for a cordon Bleu..). I would not recommend.

Excellent food and staff. The waitress was honest, we asked her if we could order a fondue for one person and another dish (this was because in many restaurants they forced us to order fondue for two). She told us to order for one and that if we were hungry to order another dish that the quantities were very large. We hesitated, but we did it. The fondue was super generous, we ate it between two people and we were very good, it was delicious, we ordered a dessert that was also delicious (it was a kind of cream and cream) and with two large beers. About 65 francs.

Please don't try this restaurant and think it represents fondue in Swiss. I've had another fondue in Zurich, WAY better than this one. From food to service. The waitress seems really impatient, always talk with us like 😑, and never a Hi or Thanks. But she chatted and laughed loudly with her friends.

Went here for fondue on our first night in Switzerland. Had apples, pears, grapes, bread and ham with the fondue. Oddly later in the vacation a server in Lucerne told me only bread and potatoes are typically eaten with fondue. I preferred what we had in Bern.

The interior has the charm of my grandparents' living room of the 1970s. But that's not why you come here: the food is excellent, always prepared fresh and the staff are really nice. I can only recommend the Cordon Bleu (to be found on the menu in the cheese section).

Worst fondue i have ever tried! I had a guest from abroad, i wanted to take her to try a Swiss fondue. But it was a big disappointment. I cannot judge other meals there, but don't try their classic fondue!!

Definitely overrated over priced restaurant. We tried it because it is family owned and has supposedly been here for over 100 years. We just wanted to try Swiss local food. Waitress was not super friendly with having to ask her to refill our water and when she brought back the container for the water, she just dumped it in front of us and didn’t even refill our glasses for us! Also, she never came back to us attentively several times. We had to keep calling her over. Did not smile a lot either. Dark long black/ brown hair. First off, not many vegan options I would say. I ordered what they called the Albert Einstein. 49.00 Swiss francs! It consisted of Rosti (hash browns), spinach and mushrooms sautéed with cream (I requested without cream), a salad with Italian or French dressing and an apple sorbet. The rosti was fair. Just like hashbrowns. However, A little too much butter/ oil - way too greasy. Decent taste. The spinach and mushrooms - the spinach was way too salty but I guess the mushrooms were placed after the spinach was sautéed since they were not the same salty consistency as the spinach. The salad was great though the picked beets were a little too vinegary my husband thought. We both had the vinegared beets almost go down the wrong pipe and had to cough a bit to get it out of our windpipes. The salad also had corn (seemed like it was canned corn), few pieces (not much) of butter leafed/ red leafed lettuce and half’s of cherry/ grape tomatoes. Interestingly enough, they do not toss the salad for you. It’s just in little sections on your plate. With the lettuce placed on top of four sections of veggies…. You toss your own salad…. Interesting foreign concept but I was ok with that. The apple sorbet was overly sweet - way too much sugar- such that I couldn’t really enjoy the apple flavor as the sugar was overpowering. It did have an Interesting texture of apple sauce - grainy- that was frozen. My husband had the mushroom veal and said he had definitely had better. It was too salty as well he said. He also got the apple cream dessert which he thought was way too creamy. He had a set menu plan too and his was about 50 Swiss francs as well. Also, one thing to note is that they have reserved signs everywhere inside and outside the restaurant and they ask everyone coming in if they have a reservation. While we were there the whole time, no one sat down at any of the reserved tables…. We didn’t even make a reservation ourselves during the dinner hours on a Thursday evening. I think they do this to give the impression that they are fully booked - which they obviously were not…. A bit not truthful in my opinion…. Definitely not a fan of Swiss food if that was it and definitely overpriced.

Great option to try a nice fondue. It's kind of expensive, but not more than the rest of the restaurants in Switzerland.

We went to the restaurant around 4 years ago. We actually found it by chance because it was just down the street from our hotel. I have to say this was our favorite restaurant during a two week trip spent in Switzerland, Austria and northern Italy. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was outstanding. The staff treated us like royalty, and they were so friendly. All the food was top notch, but it was the pumpkin soup that impressed me the most. It was really undesirable. We'll be going back again one day soon.

Very traditional and authentic Swiss restaurant focused on fondue. Very pleasant staff. Given narrow traditional menu please check the menu in advance because this restaurant will not suit a person who has very modern tastes.

Highly recommend the cheese fondue - it was the best one I had! The cheese itself was so tasty we couldn't get enough of it. We DIY our own sides to go with the fondue, but I would recommend going for their fondue set if it is your first time trying. We chose pickles because my fiance and I both love it and were curious how it will be with cheese, but personally we felt it didn't go well together. Bacon and bread went really well though! Their friendly service also contributed to our pleasant dinner experience too. Will visit again when I visit Bern!

Was recently in harmony with a friend. My Rösti was great, but it's better to stay away from the cheese slices (toast bread, cheese slices, no white wine = bland)! But the service was very friendly and competent and we would be happy to come back.

Fantastic place to stop for authentic Swiss food. Absolutely love their selection of table fondue service. Make sure you make a RESERVATION. We were looking high and low for a Swiss type of restaurant and we were lucky enough to stumble upon this hidden gem. To our luck they just had a no show for a party of 3. The restaurant is a medium to small size and packed with tables, but it doesn't feel loud and there is still a niece ambience, a bit of an old flair to it. There is a large menu with a great wine selection as well. It seems the fondue is quite popular here and we enjoyed it quite a bit. Service was fast and responsive but don't expect smiles and over the top attention. Recommended!

Berner Teller was correct. Potato stock for Fr.7.50 (which wasn't top) was sold as a supplement without any information about the price. Awkward !!

Slowly service, too much expensive, for two little Gordonbleu Fr. 74.- without anything. The frenchfrise has been extra for a 15 francs without any sauce. Never again!

It’s a star restaurant, and we had dinner; we were excited about the food, we also took the food that the person recommended, the person said it’s there’s spatiality, and it was cold and overcooked, and in the end, the person who served asked about it; our response was honest because you expect average food. It wasn’t, and they didn’t care about our feedback. I don’t think that they are doing lousy kitchen culture. We can’t understand. Why was that situation? It was strange. It’s the last time for me. Unfortunately.

Mixed feeling when leaving the restaurant. Of course we showed up without reservation at 1:30 p.m. but we were accepted. To be quick, I asked for the daily menu which didn't impress me too much culinary-wise. Around 2:15 p.m., after a long wait for the dessert order to be taken, the waitress leaves. I then ask the other waitress still present to order desserts, I am then told that the kitchen is closed. In short, generally disappointed with the address which still suggested a good experience, notably with its bistro-style decoration and its geographical position.

Don't get attracted to it by the 4.3 Rating, far from worth the cost. Service was between rude and average. They charged like 8CHF for a small, very small, bottle of water. Fondue was below average and the Daily Dish came with a ""salad"" that was literraly some lettuce on a plate. Please go and search for a different option to taste real Swiss dood

I stayed in Bern for two days for business reasons and really wanted to enjoy the famous Moitier-moitier. However, I found harmony and tried a heavenly herbal fondue. What a great surprise!

Beautiful terrace in the green. They didn't have half a card anymore, because they were going on leave the next day. So those sides who come after their leave get fresh things. And so not much is thrown away (good thing). We eat Fondue 😎, at 30 degrees in the summer. Everything tip top. He could have been a little bolder.

I am surprised by the rave reviews for this place. The service was not friendly and I thought the food was below par, although my daughter enjoyed her burger. The fondue was okay, nothing special. The green salad was indeed just that—a plate of green leaf lettuce. The description is accurate of course so it isn’t misleading but I have never seen such a “salad” other than one served as a side dish perhaps. The “large” bottle of water was not large, as I was expecting. These four items (water, “salad”, fondue and burger) cost $75. I know CH is expensive and would have been fine with the cost if the food were better. Not at all a good value. Certainly the least good restaurant experience over the last three weeks in Europe.

Very good restaurant we had a nice fondue there. Pay attention that the kitchen close around 21h30 even if the restaurant close at 23h00. We wanted to eat there for a second time another day a little before 22h00 and they weren't able to serve us.

The restaurant is somewhat expansive behind an iron grille. However, if you sit on the terrace behind it, you are rightly shielded a little from the "through traffic". In Harmonie you meet all kinds of people from all walks of life. There are many hearty dishes of very good quality. The serving staff is very hospitable and also receptive to little jokes.
