Staff absolutely great! Super sweet to children and very hospitable! Food was good and tasty, but really expensive. CHF 25 for a flammküchen that could have been better served as lunch. Portion of fries for children CHF 8.00. The place is clean and tidy, but there is little atmosphere.

The lounge is a journey back in time to the 70s - 80s. Smoky, yes you can still smoke in there, cozy but definitely not for everyone. The ambience also reflects this time perfectly.

I've been visiting Restaurant Helvetia for some time now and am always impressed. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is extremely accommodating. I was particularly impressed by the waiter, who is of Indian descent - his friendliness and attentiveness made my visit special. Highly Recommended!

We were looking forward to a fine and traditional game menu. The food lacked that certain something, seemed a bit bland and therefore not worth the high price. Service and ambience ok, but not great.

CATASTROPHE Ordered a coffee with oat milk at Helvetcia today, in addition to the terribly poor service, the coffee looked and tasted like instant coffee and when asked, they said with a shrug of the shoulders "it's just oat milk". This time it was really the last time that we supported such a bad restaurant and they seemed as dissatisfied as the other guests!!

Eating outdoors is fun. They’re busy. Service quality is excellent. The food is tasty. The wine is lovely. I don’t know why you wouldn’t go here and enjoy a good meal!

I've been here several times. Offer: Rustic and simply furnished, but it fits well with the Swiss name. Food: Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, it is very tasty. The food is fresh and the traditional dishes are impressive. Rösti is a must have here! Staff: I see friendly and dedicated employees who live the service spirit. Thank you, I feel very comfortable... Price-performance ratio fits, rather too cheap for the location etc.

My family enjoyed eating at this establishment in their outdoor dining patio. 4 out of 7 of us enjoyed the food that we were served, but 3 of us thought that it could have been a bit better. The portions were fairly sized, but the prices were fairly expensive as well.

We were traveling by motorbike and decided to eat at Helvetia. The tarte flambée was delicious. The weather was critical because the downpour didn't take long. The waiter took away all the smaller parasols, explaining that they were not umbrellas but parasols. Voila, we immediately had to protect the food from the wet. So... how bad is it when the parasol gets wet... by the way, it wasn't windy. It's a shame it left a strange feeling.

We ordered fish - which was quite nice, and a vegetarian pasta dish. The portion sizes were fair, perhaps almost too big! Nice seasonal selection of dishes besides their main menu too. The seating outside is on a public square, and there are people enjoying the weather, playing boccia and chatting around, which makes for a nice ambiance.

Love the lunches here, good menu and enough space. In July 2023, the lunch menu opened at 24.50, making it one of the most expensive in our everyday restaurants. Portions may be larger, but you can get an extra charge free of charge upon request.

Good place for lunch. I went on the recommendation of the hotel where I stayed and I was pleasantly surprised with this place, since it is very well located, has outdoor tables, the food is delicious and the service is fast. The person who served me was very friendly at all times, he even kindly explained to me the differences between some dishes, and also recommended a very good beer. The price is pretty good given the size of the portions. In short, a good place and an interesting alternative to go eat or drink something.

Whit Monday late afternoon, wonderful to sit under the chestnut trees, food was fine but the price was upper limit (2 minced patties with a little carrot and cold mashed potatoes for 29.50). A bowl of hot mashed potatoes was immediately delivered... it works, why not do that?) Gladly again.

The staff wasn't very friendly and got our orders wrong. It took very long for our food to arrive even though we were the only customers ordering something to eat. The place is nice and location is great.

Low quality food, service is good. I ordered the entrecôte, the meat was watery and covered with way too much butter… Looking at my friends plates, they also did not look appetising. Sorry, but this restaurant can’t be recommended.

We made a reservation for 7 p.m. on Saturday, and the store was obviously full. Nevertheless, the service was perfect and friendly and we were well advised about the wine. The food was, as always, very tasty. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. If the place is full it can get loud, but that's normal. I would simply advise choosing a different time. It is advisable to not always reserve at peak times.

Very great cuisine. Good menu with enough selection. The location outside under the trees is perfect. The fish crispies are local from Lake Lucerne.

1 star goes to the beautiful place under the trees & 1 star to the kitchen that could cook. Unfortunately the service is an absolute catastrophe... and unfortunately I have experienced this several times. You are hardly noticed and you have to fight to be allowed to order or pay for something. If you want to order a desert, the card is given, 15 minutes later when someone finally comes and we want to order, they say, now the kitchen is on break for 30 minutes... Very unfortunate.

The food was great, the kitchen deserved 5 stars. But the service stopped working after the main course. As soon as we had the food on the table we were treated like air. We weren't even looked at and were left sitting in front of our empty glasses for 20 minutes. If I hadn't gotten up to tell a waiter that we wanted to pay, we could have sat there without drinks until the end of the day...

The three stars may seem a bit unpleasant. Unfortunately, after weighing up the various incidents, we narrowly decided on three instead of four. The staff seemed to be having difficulties. The restaurant manager made a somewhat unfriendly and sometimes annoyed impression. Being greeted like that can make you feel unwelcome as a guest. The two waitresses had tried to be everywhere as much as possible. Unfortunately, of course, that didn't work. We had reserved, the table was assigned to us and then we had to wait. And that for a relatively long time. The drinks we ordered came relatively quickly. At the same time as the drinks we ordered the saddle of venison. We had been looking forward to it all day. The dish came in two courses and was generally very good, but unfortunately only lukewarm. The side dishes were also lukewarm at best, some even cold (e.g. the spinach and chestnuts). After eating, we explained to the waitress that some of the food was cold. She apologized and wanted to tell the kitchen directly. But we didn't receive any more feedback. Conclusion: The taste of the food was good, but unfortunately it was lukewarm to cold. The staff was obviously understaffed, which is why the waitresses seemed stressed. It's just a shame if the guest notices this.

We dined here in the evening after a business event. The service was friendly and accommodating. Requests were taken into account as best as possible. Food was very tasty and there were good portions. The restaurant was very busy this Friday, but there weren't very long waiting times. The furnishings are in an older style and make the whole thing quite homely. I really like the atmosphere.

Helvetiagärtli is great under the trees, wonderful like a holiday and a nice staff. Fine food and good wine.

I went yesterday for the second time and was pretty unlucky. The food was only lukewarm and the risotto was extremely al dente. Some friends thought it was good. For some, the dishes were too vinegary. Well prepared, but not very high quality meat was also a feedback. The red wine sauce for me was more of a matter of taste. Unfortunately the waiter couldn't score either. He was friendly, but seemed noticeably annoyed. All in all, for the price, I don't think it's worth another visit.

The restaurant is located near the Bundesplatz (roundabout) and is a comfortable 10-minute walk from Lucerne train station. A very small, cozy dining room with many tables awaits you. The food was very tasty and the staff was courteous and quick on time. However, due to the size of the room, it quickly becomes loud AND ESPECIALLY stuffy.

Had dinner here...I'm speechless! The food was a 10 out of 10, the Pommery mustard sauce with the veal and the butter hash browns was a dream on the tongue. Staff TOP! Friendly, accommodating, served quickly, everything was almost perfect. Conclusion: The chef loves his job, you can taste it in the food. Staff, professional and very friendly. Price performance, nothing to complain about. Salad was just a bit weak, unfortunately it was standard from the bag but the main course forgives that! Will 100% eat here again.

Restaurant in which we ate well. Nothing to say about the food, the menu or the wines. The waitress who took care of us at the beginning was nice but I can't say the same for the waiter who replaced her after her shift. He refused to allow us to order dessert even though we were accompanied by children. We should have been informed of the kitchen closing time in my opinion. Not very kids friendly because no changing table in the toilets. Definitely, two servers, two atmospheres!

This was a wonderful place to dine. The food was delicious and the wine was a great compliment to the meal. Service was also top notch. It's a great choice for dinner and drinks.

Nice restaurant in a great location. The place is very lively, a bit noisy at times, but completely acceptable. The dishes are tasty, but the portion sizes sometimes vary greatly. As a vegetarian, I went home hungry compared to my meat-eating colleagues. But the prices were still impressive! Will I go here again with friends who are impressed by the restaurant? Probably yes. Personally, no.

Friendly, cheerful service staff, which is rare these days. Nice food and drink menus. Very finely cooked, down-to-earth and yet stylishly prepared. A friendly, authentic gastronomic concept and therefore an enrichment for the city of Lucerne.

Waiting times are far too long. Sometimes you wait a good 15 minutes until you are served, even if the restaurant is not full. Just as many mistakes... Wrong food, wrong drinks, etc.
