It's the minimum in a 5 star hotel... like having food service in the room 24 hours a day. Bare balcony with a faux ratane table. Breakfast: unacceptable for a 5-star hotel of this magnitude. Small choice. Zero choice for vegans. Too many packaged things. Too many things off the menu at exorbitant prices. A toast 25 fr. Does not exist! Eggs brought on a plate without a minimum of care, without a decoration. Cheeses and cold cuts bought in a super market. Herbal teas: only 1...disappointed! 3 star breakfast. Staff: very courteous. Historic hotel offering a luxurious and quiet setting Exceptional stay on the occasion of our mother's 80th birthday. The quality of service and welcome were impeccable. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean with a magnificent lake view. The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes walk from the old town. The breakfast buffet is very generous and ordering eggs a la carte is very pleasant, we really enjoyed it! The rain did not spoil our stay, on the contrary, we were able to enjoy the spa and the swimming pool, modern and elegant facilities. Looking forward to our next stay!

Incredible hotel and magnificent service in addition to its location

Wow..what a beautiful hotel. The staff were just fab and Nicole is just a star. SO helpful and nothing was any bother. We had a great view and got an upgrade to a higher floor. The food is just superb and a beautiful breakfast. We will definitely be back at some point for sure!! Thank you for everything!

The hotel is very well located (in front of the lake, close to the city center), glorious and well maintained, offers all amenities (pool, jacuzzi, spa, fitness), had great food options (good breakfast and a Michelin star restaurant), and the staff is doing everything they can to make your stay memorable. We stayed there with our kids and everyone had a great experience.

Came with a friend couple of weeks ago (just a night) and it was perfect. The staff is lovely and helpful, the continental breakfast was of outstanding quality. The location is perfect, just a few minutes away from the train station and the view of the lake is breathtaking. And if you're there you have to spend some time in the sauna and jacuzzi pool. I totally recommend a visit. If I come back to Lugano I'll definitely be staying here again.

A very traditional house that exudes the splendor of days gone by. The furniture is very well maintained with virtually no signs of wear and tear. Remarkably friendly and courteous staff. Great additional services such as free pick-up service from the train station. Very nice lake view. Unfortunately, the room temperature cannot be individually controlled, which meant that I was almost cooked in my sleep on the first night. After speaking to a concierge, the room temperature was slightly more comfortable on the second night. One more thing… to all hotels: I was offered to change rooms; But honestly, do you want to pack everything back up after you've unpacked everything, only to unpack it again?

Location, rooms, and service are all three top-notch. Front desk, entrance security and restaurant staff are highly trained ,polite and very helpful. Highly recommend if you are in lugano.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, im Vintage Stil und sehr hübsch eingerichtet, die alten Gänge, die alten Tapeten, die Antiquitäten und die wunderschönen Möbel, ... perfekte Lage direkt am See. Leider stimmt die Preis- Leistung überhaupt nicht. Wir haben viele Leading Hotels weltweit besucht, aber dies war das schlechteste. Die Preise sehr hoch aber die Leistung lässt zu wünschen übrig. Das Beste und somit als einziges mit 5 Sternen zu bewerten sind die Massagen. Die waren perfekt! Der Wellnessbereich ist eher was für ein Chalet n den Bergen, mit 2 Saunen auf diese Grösse des Hotels sehr mickrig,... der Pool das selbe wunderschön gemacht aber viel zu klein, der Außenbereich mit Sonnenliegen ist ok,... wenn man ihm auch für die Gäste bereit macht. Das Frühstück ist OK, aber nicht 5 Sterne Like und schon gar nicht als Leading Hotel,... und vor allem wenn man für ein Egg Benedict 24.-- extra bezahlen muss,... das Abendeseen, das 4 Gang Menu für gut 90,-- wäre preislich OK,... aber in ein Leading Hotel darf man mehr erwarten,.... das Auge sollte mitessen,.. Und das schlechteste im Hotel,... nur mit 1 Stern zu bewerten, ist das Valet Parking,... die Herren, haben nur Augen für die Luxuskarossen,... Wir haben mind. 20 min. gewartet, bis der Herr einen Porsche auf Schäden abfotografiert hatte, ihn einparkiert , und dann noch eine Dame mit Kind zum Bahnhof chaufierte,... grundsätzlich OK,... aber man könnte die wartenden Gäste zumindestens begrüßen und "Verstärkung" holen,... für ein 5 Sterme Leading-Hotel, absolutes NO GO,... hier müssen Sie noch etwas am Ablauf arbeiten... Schade, wir werden und können dieses Hotel nicht als Leading Hotel empfehlen.

On a séjourné dans l’hôtel pendant 3 nuits dans une chambre standard. La chambre qu’on nous a attribué se situe au 7eme étage du bâtiment exécutif: douche en plastique, le bruit d’ascenseur chaque minute. On a pu constater une énorme différence entre les autres étages et le 7eme. J’avoue pas comprendre comment après avoir payé plein tarif on a atterri dans une chambre “de bonne”. Jugez par vous mêmes le deux premières photos viennent des autres étages, la 3ème photo est l’étage 7 et la fameuse douche. Extrêmement déçu je ne reviendrai plus.

And the bar and restaurant are really expensive. 20chf for a cocktail... More of that staff will always push you to drink champagne or wine! And you know why when you see the price of it... And the meal was good but nothing special, with a quick services that do not let you enjoy the moment... You finish your dish and its changed to the next one in a second... It's more like a catering... I visited a lot of 4 and 5 stars and our stay was an average 4 stars experiences at a cost of 5 stars... and take in count that it's children friendly... If you choose this hotel ask for deluxe room to be in real room! Not at the maid floor with toilet in the corridor... Oh and big surprise for the goodbye : our car is full of ants !!! Seriously... :-(

The service is fast, efficient and very friendly. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and clean. The restaurant has a good selection of dishes on the menu. The breakfast buffet offers something for everyone. The Spa is a new addition to the hotel which I did not have time to try out.

Ja 😊 das ist ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen. Superfreundliches Personal, sehr zuvorkommend.... bravo und weiter so. Wir hatten ein Standardzimmer im Haupthaus mit kleinem Balkon und Blick auf den See. Das Zimmer ist stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Bett ist sehr bequem. Es hat eine Kaffee und Teemaschine, Mineral und eine Minibar (nicht gratis) Morgens gibt es ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, welches während 6 Tagen die gleichen Produkte enthielt. Abends gebe ich gern 5 von 5 ⭐en. Nicht nur hervorragender Service, auch jedes Dinner Menü war absolut excellent. Oh ja 😊 und dann gab es noch eine kleine Geburtstagsüberraschung auf unserem Zimmer. 👍 Die Torte war sensationell. Wir hatten uns auch wegen dem Wellness und Saunabereich für das Splendid entschieden. Dafür muss ich leider einen ⭐ abziehen. Auch wenn es keine Coronamassnahmen gäbe, ist der Bereich sehr mässig ausgestattet. Neu und rein prinzipiell top und sauber, einfach zu klein für die grösse des Hotels. Es gibt eine Sauna z.Zt. für max. 2 Personen und ein Dampfbad auch für z.Zt. max. 2 Personen. Der Ruheraum ist lediglich mit 4 Sesseln ausgestattet, dafür gibt es gratis Tee und Wasser. Der PrivatSpa Bereich kann gebucht werden, ist aber nichts besonderes, nur ein Bereich gespiegelt wie der Normale. Das Schwimmbad ist sehr schön, aber auch hier ist schnell alles z.B. bei schlechtem Wetter belegt. Der Aussenbereich war auf Grund des Wetters nicht nutzbar. Ein grosses Danke an das Personal für den tollen Service

Beautiful hotel with amazing views. It was my birthday, I was not expecting anything but received a birthday cake and a half bottle champagne. Was a very pleasant stay.

5 star hotel but you know it, and pay for it. The prices and attitude of certain staff really spoilt the few days we stayed here. Eating in the bar was expensive, drinking in the bar was extortionate at 18chf for 1dl of white wine! Poor choice of beer too! 30chf for a chicken burger which was more like a chicken and vegetable mush burger with no sauce! Very disappointed! Also, the staff took an age to serve, several times "forgot" the glass of tap water ordered for a child and eventually brought an 8chf bottle of water. They would also try to insist on moving you to a more appropriate table for dining even, if it was just a bowl of pasta for our daughter that we ordered. The food in the restaurant was very good and certainly no more expensive than the bar, but you have to take one of the fixed price menus so if you book, make sure you are hungry. However, again the drinks are expensive, 80chf for a bottle of Chasslas (normally 40 to 50chf where we live) or 110chf for a Chablis (56chf back home) kind of spoilt the experience. I know it's 5 star but is it really necessary to double the price of the drinks! The spa and facilities were excellent although a missed opportunity for the hotel not to have a nice outdoor pool or infinity pool overlooking the lake. The inuded breakfast is excellent, but anything off menu is again expensive, 7chf for a boiled egg! The staff (mostly) were really nice and they all love dogs. This really is one of the most dog friendly hotels we have been too! The room was very nice and spacious, with a nice bathroom. However, there really is no need to provide clean towels and new slippers every day. Also the "duvet" on the child's camp bed was basically a blanket wrapped in a sheet and despite being clean, there was still dust under the beds and in the corners! Overall it is nice, but I am not sure I would stay here again, even if I won the lottery as there was too much that spoilt it for us!

Schönes Hotel mit Romantikdetails, schön eingerichtet, Zimmer mit grosszügigem Balkon und Sitzgelegenheit direkt mit Aussicht auf den See. In 15 Gehminuten ist man in der Altstadt. Reichhaltiges Frühstück mit allem was das Herz begehrt, jedoch Eier sind Extra und kosten. Das Frühstück hätten wir auch ins Zimmer bestellen können, aber mit weniger Auswahl und viel Extras. Sehr freundliche & achtsame Mitarbeiter, man wird immer begrüsst. Betten sind soo bequem, wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Swimmingpool mit Hängeleuchten sah optisch toll aus.

I booked this hotel after carefully checking different ones in Lugano and the region. I saw a lot of positive feedbacks but was a bit perplexed with the few negative ones. Still decided to book there and I DON’T regret at all. The staff is amazing and give special care to each guest. We had an upgrade and a special sweet treat for my birthday! We absolutely LOVE this hotel!!!!! Service was outstanding and made us feel we were completely at home. The hotel went above and beyond to make our stay amazing!!! Reception were more than happy to answer our many questions throughout our stay. Exceptional service from Richard, Simone and Filippo in the bar and restaurant. Head Barman Simone is superb & makes incredible cocktails(adapted to fulfill our wishes). Our room was gorgeous, spacious, super comfortable beds, we felt like royalty and can’t wait to come back. Fine dining was exceptional, all the courses were exquisite. Breakfast had an amazing variety of options and again any requests we made were fulfilled by the staff. The spa was very relaxing and a wonderful addition to the hotel, spa staff also went out of their way to be very helpful. We will definitely be returning in the very near future. Sehr schönes und exklusive Hotel an allerbester Lage in Lugano Paradiso. Der prächtige Bau überstrahlt die Uferpromenade des Lago di Lugano. Die Zufahrt erfolgt direkt von der Hauptstrasse vor dem Haus. Parkplätze sind vorhanden, aber eher eng. Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend empfangen und zur Lobby geführt. Nach kurzem einchecken gelangten wir per Aufzug in die 4. Etage, wo sich unser 'Excecutive Room' befand. Das Zimmer ist herrlich im 'Belle Epoche' Stil eingerichtet mit schönem, wertigem Mobiliar ausgestattet. Auch das Badezimmer ist grosszügig und bietet alles was benötigt wird. Das Entree/Ankleide mit viel Stauraum hat uns auch überzeugt. Ein seitlicher Seeblick rundete das Erlebnis ab. Das Frühstück wird in einem wunderschönen Saal serviert (kein Buffet), man wählt einfach von der Karte aus auf was man Lust hat. Übrigens, der Latte Macchiato sollte unbedingt probiert werden (siehe Foto). Das SPA vom Splendide Royal ist super schön !!! Ein toller Innenpool mit herrlichen Liegen, schöne Sauna- und Dampfbadräume und eine fantastische Outdoor-Kneipp-Anlage. Uns hat das Splendid Royal völlig überzeugt als erstklassiges 5 Sterne Haus, welches auch eine 5 Sterne Bewertung verdient.
