Ugh…zero quality, price. We leave the restaurant on an empty stomach, despite having ordered 2 plates.

The culinary offerings for brunch are innovative and the flavors are there. Everything was very good! The place is cozy and the colors warm. Very fast service. A very nice discovery!

We had 2 tartars, one of salmon and one of beef and they were very fresh, with recipes that were different from the ordinary. The mustard grains were a little too much because they covered the taste of the tartare but original. Greek yogurt with banana is also excellent, a little too filling for the end of a meal. The waitress was very nice and helpful. I recommend and we got 20% off the total with The Fork

Everything was very good and beautiful to see! The interior is very cozy Just a little too much noise unfortunately, you have to speak very loudly to be heard and the next day my voice was gone 😂

Nice place to have a hot Matcha Latte or brunch. Not many choices in terms of cakes, service a bit slow and the place can be quite noisy if it is booked by a group or if there is an event.

This was the first time I returned a plate that had barely been eaten because the food was so tasteless. Tasteless, rubbery eggplant, supposedly marinated tomatoes, yogurt straight from the pot, and a pile of limp coriander. All this for only 19.-… outrageous… not to mention we spent 30 minutes being ignored by the staff. The other dishes ordered at our table were just as bad. Worst dining experience in the last 10 years….

One of my worst dining experiences in Lausanne! We had reserved for 3 people and had 3 different dishes: calamarata with seafood (actually RIGATONI with 3 poor frozen shrimp and shells which were therefore tasteless and a drizzle of olive oil...), a tartare of beef bathed in its egg yolk, without seasoning and therefore without taste and served with 2 leaves of salad and bread without crunch and finally a "candied eggplant" (in fact a poor eggplant cooked in the oven with almost non-existent seasoning, some tasteless tomatoes, a ladle of Greek yogurt and a pile of herbs in one corner of the plate). We did not finish our plates, the eggplant dish even returned to the kitchen almost untouched. I am speechless at the quality of what was served to us. Added to this is the atmosphere of the restaurant which is ultra noisy and the service which is not really one. I admit that I don't understand the restaurant's rating and the glowing comments on the networks, I can only advise against it.

Very nice place to come for brunch! The mushroom and egg toast is delicious, as is the brioche with Vaudois sausage! Little extra for the cold coffee served in a glass of wine! It brought a little something :)

Very nice evening spent in this friendly place with friends. A very good guacamole shared for an aperitif. A delicious homemade whipped butter that we devoured with good bread. Good dishes for the future. And to finish, original desserts, with beautiful combinations of flavors, and not very sweet, which is very good. We will happily come back.

Everything is top notch, the setting, the service, good quality and delicious food. The only downside is that the portions are a little too small.

I didn't like the food, the pasta didn't taste good, but the place is nice and outdoors.

This restaurant offers a dish of candied eggplant with tomatoes and coriander. Imagine, an eggplant with more seeds than flesh, very roughly chopped tomatoes and a bunch of coriander placed on the plate. No need to look for sauce or spices, there is nothing, no taste. I strongly advise you to move on. Never again !!!

Nice coffee which is great start! However, menu seems to be trying too hard. Maybe worth considering shortening it and focusing on a few dishes. It would be great to be able to eat some eggs to get at least an option to eat a normal brunch. There’s also very limited vegan options so if you are lactose intolerant, get ready to ask a lot of questions to see how to get a balanced dish without all the cheese that is everywhere in both savory and sweet dishes. The sourdough bread was stale and the mousse avocado was the tiniest portion I had ever seen served in a restaurant. Terrace lacks atmosphere, the interior is nicer. Ps: it’s a bit uncomfortable that some of the staff speaks no French at all. My mother asked for the bill and my sister had to jump in and translate to the waiter because he didn’t understand.

I come here ALOT, simply coz there are no other just OK options locally and open late. But it really pains me to spend money here when the staff come across rude and socially awkward. They do not acknowledge you at all when you come in. They don't tend to you either. Really weird. Frankly this is the same with the owners. They are very cold and not at all friendly, rather they are going to kill you for just being there! Don't understand this when your customers are bringing you revenue. A smile even if fake would not hurt. Matcha latte is good quality but is prepared differently per server. Hot chocolate is good when they add extra dose of chocolate. Chai lattes also good but only prepared at sleepy bear. Prices can feel a little steep tbh even that for the food vs. quality. I ate a few times, I would personally avoid it. The menu options seem nice but the quality and execution is just bland. If the service was good and the staff and owners GENUINELY friendly and act like they actually care - I would feel so so different about this place. Lastly, noise levels are insanely loud during peak time. Something really needs to be done about the accoustics. Even with noise cancelling headphones its madly loud. Really dont understand how people can enjoy being such environment. It's not 'atmospheric' nice.

Hiddem gem up the stairs on a terrace - probably better known for its coffee and brunch, but also recommend it for a low-key, casual and quiet outdoor dinner atmosphere where you can get a selection of appetizers/tapas style and a few mains, as well as good natural wines. The salmon tartare was delicious! They take reservations but you probably don't need one in the evening, just at brunch.

Very nice and friendly service but how long does it take to have 2 drinks. We asked for a spritz and a soft drink, we waited a good 30-40 minutes to get them (the place wasn't full) and it wasn't even great. Board ordered without much surprise. Very little used for the price. Moreover when we share it and they put a single large slice of mortadella that we cannot cut because no cutlery is available, not very practical...

As soon as I entered, no one seemed to notice my presence, and even a simple hello would have made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, no one paid me any attention. No hello, no smile. Then I waited for ages before finally being served. I waited for 45 minutes, which is completely unacceptable for a simple coke. In addition, I came back with a friend and the same situation happened again, no hello, no one calculated for us to take our order, my friend told me that this situation happened several times until she went to ask for it. even what she needs.

Very good place for a brunch in Lausanne

One of the best brunches in Lausanne: original menu, dishes full of flavors, very friendly staff, pleasant setting! I highly recommend

No welcome from the staff, I sat at a table still available where there was a couple eating. Ten minutes later I signal to the waitress that I would like to eat and she tells me that this table is reserved for a group of seven people and asks me to move to another table. I finally order my dish and I ask to add rice or pasta, impossible because the restaurant does not have rice or pasta... The waitress comes back to me and tells me that they no longer have black tea but green tea or fruit tea. My dish arrives and there is no sauce with the salmon, the vegetables are barely cooked and are not seasoned with salt or spices. The white asparagus is not peeled enough and unfortunately I cannot eat it whole. The bread served with butter is good and fresh. The first table I was at was never set for seven people, the second table I ate at was too close to another table and I could hear the entire conversation of the people next to me. I do not recommend this restaurant because the price of the dish is way too expensive. The service is disorganized, the waitress prefers to clear tables instead of worrying about customers who arrive and are already at the table.

If the menu is nice (I would point out that the food is good but the prices are high, especially for toast, 36CHF for 3 toasts, even made with quality products, they are still toast), we regret the extremely slow and totally amateur service. . We are very disappointed because we booked with La Fourchette which offered a 20% discount on the bill and unfortunately the restaurant never gave us this discount.

Menus were printed badly, and hence hard to read. Food was OK. Staff could have been friendlier. Interior is nice.

If you're looking to not get served or get coffee, this is the place to go!! And when you go to order at the bar an air of astonishment because they can't understand!!! So 10 minutes of waiting, 10 minutes to prepare 3 coffees… simpler to seek death!! To avoid !!

Delicious dishes, contemporary decoration and cool chilling MUSIC..! really refreshing to have a place like this in Lausanne where everything is either nice but small, or spacious but oldie..

Nice for brunches, the restaurant is well hidden, don't miss it! we took the brunch formula with savory and sweet it was good, just the avocado toast bread impossible to cut the bread too hard but otherwise the rest is good. One point to improve the service which takes a long time just to bring the cards

A timeless place in the heart of Lausanne. Cold espresso with cold frothed milk delicious and beautifully presented. I loved!

Friendly decor, however the service is too friendly to deal with customers on familiar terms... we are not your friends but your livelihood... speaking of bread and dishes, 24.- for a variety of 3 tomatoes and a burrata? Not to mention that salt and pepper services are not offered. A salmon tartare served without bread? And a half-cooked salmon fillet, my fishing rod almost caught it. For 27.- just a fillet and 3 broccoli, no rice.. nothing! The cards on which the menus fade and ultimately, not much to eat. Basically, a few tomatoes, a little cheese and 1/8 of a salmon which wanders across the two plates for 90.- We tried, we certainly won't come back. P.S: out of respect for customers, you can avoid talking about your life out loud between the kitchen and the bar during the entire service.

The concept of small dishes to order in the form of toast or sweet dishes is great. The mushroom, salmon, and avocado burrata toasts are three excellent dishes. I also recommend the lemon brioche. The place is nicely decorated and has a beautiful terrace for the summer.

The coffee place is great, I have tried their coffee only, which is worth it. The staff could share a smile :)

A little hidden gem just below Lausanne gare! Very cosy place (although low ceilings make it VERY loud when it's busy), service is casual but friendly and efficient! Food options are somewhat limited but the choices are all AMAZING!!! all the toasts are very well thought of, great flavour combination

Excellent dining experience! We were able to serve dishes that were out of the ordinary. Very tasty and decorated, these meals made our evening. Desserts are a “MUST” and for wine lovers, they have plenty of choices of balanced wines. Finally, the atmosphere and decoration make this place very friendly & cozy! We will come back clearly!

I had the opportunity to eat at Hungry Bear and the dishes were very good, refined and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and the terrace are really pleasant. The team is very friendly and attentive to the customer. A very nice experience, I recommend and would come back.

Review based on Monday lunch service. First the positive: - One star goes to: interior design - very nice setting. - Another star goes to: modifications for vegan diet is possible Then the negative: - My aubergine dish was very bland, not well seasoned. No pepper and salt were brought to my table. - Bread was offered as an afterthought: I had already started eating the dish when I was asked if I want bread. Same with water, they did ask when ordering, but they didn’t bring the water until after I had started eating. - Dish was CHF 19 but definitely should have been much less. It counts more as a side dish, in my opinion.

Great place to study with power strips and nice staff but the coffee didn't live up to my expectations. Too bitter and yet watery.

Had a wonderful dinner over HungryBear. Visiting Lausanne is always nice to find places where you get beyond the traditional menu. And you are served exactly with that at HungryBear: a varied but yet compact menu, with great choices not only in terms of the food combinations but the fresh ingredients. The team in the kitchen obviously does a great job. Owners were in the restaurant when I had dinner and truly amazing to see the passion. Andreea took great care of us and you could see that the place is not just another restaurant you will find around, but a place where amazing food meets amazing and passionate owners and stuff. Myself had a beef tartare and tasted two amazing desert, the panna cotta and the banana, Greek yogurt and pear. My friends had the Seafood Calamaratta, a pave de salmon and a salmon tartare. The fact that we were all quiet during dinner was all about tasting something that I would call "one of a kind". Understood they also serve brunch so am actually looking forward to see if I actually can find a spot this coming weekend. Here are couple of pictures of our food & deserts. A must go restaurant in Lausanne, and for sure I will come back. By the way, the owners also have the nearby coffee shop, SleepyBear! The best specialty coffee location in Lausanne. And now, for me, the best restaurant I found in Lausanne which delivers the perfect mixture of food, atmosphere and value. :)

Exquisite - one word to define the Hungry Bear. A place that invites you to feel as welcomed and cozy as in your own living room, while tasting goodies, you would only find in a fancy restaurant. Our favorite place for all our events (family and corporate), providing friendly and great service, and amazing dishes. A must "go to" place when in Vaud.

A magnificent and warm place for Brunch with friends, family, etc. The waiting time for the dishes was very long but the team was able to demonstrate professionalism by apologizing and offering coffees. The dishes are delicious and the waiters are smiling. I would come back for sure. THANKS

The place is rather nice, the problem is the prices and the dishonesty in its display...yesterday with a friend we had a coffee, a latte and we asked for water, we were charged 17chf!! ! 5chf for a carafe of water...even though it's not stipulated that the carafe costs money...it's not as if we only took water! I find this scandalous...

We had an amazing dinner. The quality of ingredients is just superb. The chocolate & mushroom dessert was from another world. Very creative. Great wine selection as well. The service is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

A very cozy place with lots of natural light, healthy cuisine with vegan brunch options and flavor combinations that will surprise you.

Brunch: overall quite good, but 24fr for a slice of bread and its garnish and a small plate of mousse for example, is not very correct. In the end it leaves a bitter taste and I don't think I'll go back.

Nice terrace but the menu leaves something to be desired. I advise you to opt for a café rather than eating there. The toast I had was cold. But the service is very good!

Nice spot for a light dinner, plenty of seating inside and out. The portions are a little on the small side but everything was very tasty!

Cozy place to have a drink, read a book or work. On the other hand, the homemade hot chocolate is really not worth the price (6.-🥵). The chocolate is not mixed well and there is only milk at the beginning and then only chocolate. There Milk foam is not creamy… Too bad…

Not a crazy experience.. we went there one evening. Nice decoration and cozy atmosphere. Kids friendly is very appreciable. Unfortunately the quantities are really small, for the price I find it to be exaggerated. We ordered a salmon tartare and seafood pasta. While waiting for the dishes we received a plate of bread with beaten salted butter which was delicious, we thought it was a good start. The dishes arrive, very well presented. On the other hand we had to ask for cutlery, we were not offered to drink anything else...a detail... The salmon tartare and only accompanied by a mini salad.. I found it disappointing that they did not offer bread or another starchy food. Mini portion which looked more like a starter for 26.- I found it a bit exaggerated. My pasta dish.. we can count the “sea fries” which were overcooked.. everything was floury, not seasoned enough, really not great at all. The desserts are very pretty and have particular tastes which is a change from the usual desserts and it feels good. We wanted one and they didn't have any left. I tried the pavlova and my friend had the pana cotta. Nice presentation but too special for me.

Great place! 5 🌟 worthy. Coffe is excellent - actually the best in the area and they also have really delicious home made cookies. The restaurant has an interesting and unique selection of dieshs. Definitely worth it! The last but not least the staff are friendly and helpful 😊 I 100% recomand the place.

When having brunch here it is best to go with the options of two toasts or one toast and one sweet at a discounted price. The mixture of ingredients seem interesting. We had the egg with lime on brioche bread. I think the egg was not beaten well and you could taste the egg in the mixture. With the salmon toast: it was supposed to be with a sauce from avocado but it was basically served with mayo mixed with a little bit of avocado, and only one slice of the zucchini was used for presentation. The service was awkward at times (for instance they forgot to bring us water, but they were polite and friendly). The presentation and the ambience were very nice.

I think that it's better to order brunch so that you can choose 2 dishes at 24 Swiss franc. My friend ordered the normal tartar but it was kinda small and she was disappointed. For brunch menu, you can add sweet if you want to. The taste of tartar was okay for me.

Located near Lausanne Gare, this was the only restaurant I could find open on Sunday. They did a good job accommodating my gluten intolerant son with a grilled salmon and vegetables. The toasts are pricey, but AMAZING. The jamon toast had quality Serrano ham with an aubergine pure that was delicious. I have never enjoyed a toast more.

Super fresh and tasty, original food presented beautifully. Relaxing and smart modern decor and a large terrace for summer dining. Friendly, helpful staff. Portions are on the smaller side for main courses if you are hungry. Definitely recommend you pay it a visit.

I found the place good looking with a nice atmosphere. The food looks and tastes quite well. Didn't like that it took over an hour for taking and preparing our order. The portions were quite small, making the place expensive if you are on the hungry side.

the food was very good but not mind blowing (salmon tartare and iced matcha latte) , the service wasn’t good, our waitress kept forgetting our drink AND food order she literally came back to ask us three times (and the place wasn’t even busy) but she was very nice and i think it was her first day (the salmon tartare was delicious but came with this avocado mousse/sauce thing which didn’t taste good at all 😭 but its okay because it wasn’t mixed in so you can eat around it haha)

Best place for dinner in Lausanne!!

Tiny portion... 4 pastas chasing each other with exactly 4 mussels and 2 shrimp... No taste... other dishes served without interest. Another under-station boo-boo trap! I will miss the creperie that was there before, it was simple but good and generous! Thank you, I know perfectly well what scallops are... as for the bottarga there wasn't even one to smell it and you know that very well!

Very nice decor inside and superb quiet terrace. We tried the brunch and all had different things. The dishes were delicious, some classic but with a twist. A little expensive compared to the quantity served but the quality and originality are there. Friendly service but lacked organization and efficiency. Delicious coffees.

Wow, really the best brunch in Lausanne. It offers a unique twist to the common brunch. The Avocado and Stracciatella, and brioche and Citron are so, so good! Top place if you’re looking for a chilled brunch, 6* coffee close to Lausanne Gare station.

This is tucked away so don’t miss it. Very friendly service. Nice interior decoration. We ordered the grilled vegetables salad to start and share which was very fresh and tasting. Then we had some of the toasts. Two savory and one sweet. All were very well presented, lovely flavors, great bread, and very tasty. They have a terrace too. Overall we were very happy to eat there and we will visit again.

Lovely place. Easy to get a table during weekday, but book for the weekends! A great place for breakfast, brunch & lunch. Lots of good options for any diet. We had the signature avo toast, stracciatella toast and pavlova for dessert. Everything is spot on! Thank you!
