I really liked this place, the old cozy atmosphere. Simply amazing service. I really liked the tartar, the best I have ever tried. The recommendations from the sommelier were excellent. It was a real pleasure to visit this place!

Quiet, pleasant atmosphere and excellent food.

Our family has been your guests for years. But unfortunately we were disappointed recently. My husband, who comes from Zurich, didn't know the Schweizerhof Bern and I wanted to show him. The service was very pleasant and friendly. The wait was easy at the border. The food (Wienerschnitzel) was very small compared to before. It came cold and the cranberry sauce was very bitter and inedible. The ambience is nice but hasn't changed in years. I think it's a shame that you take in so much money and don't replace or improve anything. We will no longer come to the Schweizerhof Bern because the disappointment was too great. Future birthday dinners have also been canceled.

We expected more. The Wienerschnitzel was soggy and had hardly any taste. The fries were probably made with old oil and the potato salad is better and cheaper in other restaurants.

This is a truly great restaurant to visit when you're in Bern! It's a bit pricey (just as everything in Switzerland, so I guess it's no surprise) but the food was phenomenal and the service even better. The lobster bisque was phenomenal and the steak was made to the right temperature and prepared very well. Overall we had a great experience for a dinner service and I strongly recommend trying this place out!

Beautiful brasserie and very near the train station. One of the best beef tartare I have had and the blackforest dessert was delicious. Very good service too as expected.

You can dine here at proud prices in an old and elegant ambience. The food comes in small portions, is elegantly prepared, but the taste only impresses me to a limited extent. The service is friendly, but the blind spots make it difficult to keep an overview, so it sometimes takes a long time for the service to respond. Overall, a good experience that you can treat yourself to once in a while. My reviews are usually strict.

You always immediately feel at home in Jack's Brasserie. The employees are always extremely friendly and helpful. The cozy atmosphere invites you to linger. The food is always excellent and the Wiener Schnitzel is almost a must. There is also an excellent wine list for wine lovers. Keep it up!!!!

We had a wonderful experience. My wife was desperate for a martini and although it was not on the menu, they went above and beyond to make sure it exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful, kind, and the food was devine. We intended to stop by only for an appetizer and ended up staying for a full meal as we discovered the flavors and service to be phenomenal. At the end of our meal, we were unexpectedly offered a selection of Swiss chocolates and fruit jellies to choose from which turned out to be a highlight of the meal and sent us off wanting to come back. Looking forward to our next trip to Bern and to Jack's Brasserie.

Overall I think Jack Brassiere has lost its reputation and stature . Dishes that you see on Google are no longer existed : seafood tower , schweinshaxe .. Foods are ok , but not exceptional . Lamb tenderloin is good but poulet with supreme sauce not as expected Wines by the bottle are a lot more expensive than Zermatt . Services are slow , slow .. Hopefully they will be better next year .

Normally a TOP address for good food. The Zurich Geschnezelte was strangely boring (no acidity! (white wine) ALMOST NO MUSHROOMS. The veal was dark and cut into strange cubes. Amazing service from Tyler! Was super friendly and recommended some fabulous wine. I had waited a full year for the opportunity to come and eat the Schnitzel and it was definitely worth it. For appetizers we tried the mimosa salad which was also very good! Would 10/10 recommend getting the schnitzel!

The last time I was at the Schweizerhof was 30 years ago. At that time it was an incomparable culinary experience. Now the price-performance ratio is absolutely inconsistent, the kitchen is a disappointment.

Price-performance ratio is not right. Starter inedible, the Wienerschnitzel soggy and the wine prices far too high for the quality offered. It's a shame, it was a good choice in the past, but now we'll prefer other places.

Food was fine, there's no need to discuss price/performance, but 3dl of house iced tea 10.- (including service as with all prices)... In a free minute, talk about the books again...

Very disappointing. I personally chose this restaurant to celebrate my family birthday. First of all when we sat down and decided on the white wine, we waited at least 20 minutes before it was served at the table and also it arrived very hot. The very awkward staff who almost seemed to not know how to work in a restaurant of this level. They couldn't understand our needs and there were various communication problems. Furthermore, when it came time for dessert, the staff did not bother in the slightest to first clean the table from the dirty dishes on which we had previously eaten. Finally, as regards the quality of the dishes, they were not at all as good as what was written in the reviews. Ultimately we will never come to this restaurant again.

Yesterday we ate in the brasserie with 7 people. We made a reservation for this a week in advance. We were told that we couldn't eat in the actual restaurant, but in a side room. That was fine with us too. We then had a table in the bar area. Unfortunately, these were neither clean nor stable (tables wobbled). There were two menus for 7 people. Unfortunately, the service was also unfriendly and couldn't speak German. The food was good. At the end there was neither a farewell nor a thank you. The service was really subpar. We are very disappointed, especially for the prices quoted, and will definitely not be coming back. One star for the food. A pity!

First of all: it wasn't the kitchen. After making the reservation, which felt like half my life required over the phone, we showed up on time. After a short wait, the “head waiter” greeted us and led us to the seat and continued on our way. A short time later he came back and asked for the drink. I ordered a large water without, then he asked my companion and then me again. Still a big water without, I replied with a smile. After we received my companion's drink and a 1l bottle of water with (...), I thought we would each get the glasses refilled. He placed the bottle on the side table at the other end of the table. There was no way for us to get there without moving/getting up. I drank my glass relatively quickly and waited until after I received the food to refill it myself. Nobody cared if my glass was empty. Even in a village you keep an eye on things like this. When the Wiener Schnitzel arrived, the joy was back. Unfortunately I have to say that we didn't find the best Wiener Schnitzel from Switzerland as it was advertised. A maximum of 8.5 / 10. It's good, but a bit disappointing if it's supposed to be the best. Of course, out of respect, I'm not advertising another restaurant here. However, you get a consistent 9.5/10 in Thun. After we finished eating our plates, we were left sitting for a long time again. At some point the young lady spoke to us and we were able to pay. The head waiter seemed stressed throughout the entire stay, running back and forth in the restaurant without doing much. It brings a lot of unrest into the actually cozy atmosphere, especially since there isn't much going on. I would have liked to give 4.5 stars for the food, but everything else really had a negative impact on it. A pity.

Best Wienerschnitzel in the region, always worth a visit.

Perfect for a business meeting in the Swiss capital. Close to the main train station. Your can have quiet business talks with privacy, while enjoying high class cuisine. To extend the experience, coffee can be taken in the lounge of the adjacent hotel. Finally, when the terrasse on the trip is open, great views over Berne and mountain panorama !

The schnitzel is flattened and aromatic, covered in a crispy breading… fantastic! Plus cranberry jam and the best fries! ... you could go on describing and evaluating the Wienerschnitzel from Jack's Brasserie... I think you definitely have to go and try it! The service was very professional, attentive and gallant. The restaurant is very original and with a touch of nostalgia - highly recommended and really one of the best Wienerschnitzel! And: of course the alternative menus were no less delicious and freshly prepared!

I just expect a lot more in this price range! The food was okay and nicely presented. From the beginning to the end a lot was forgotten such as: Salad without sauce, drink without ice (but was specifically asked for), etc. My plate was cleared away while I was still eating. The food, from the starter to the Viennese schnitzel, were excellent. The starter “Berner Rose Tomatoes” turned out to be a dream. You have to try this! Only with the tartare starter were the Bernese fries forgotten, which turned out to be almost a stroke of luck when we saw the schnitzel on the plate and the millefeuille was unfortunately baked too dark and therefore a bit bitter. In any case, we can only recommend Jacks Brasserie and will definitely enjoy the best Wienerschnitzel in Switzerland again.

Jack's Brasserie in Bern is a gem. A real brasserie in Bern. The kitchen meets the high demands of the owners and guests. The attentive and articulate service helps everyone feel at home straight away. Shortly after we had settled in comfortably, we were served two amusements. I will soon prepare a five-liter flatbread filled with feta and spinach myself. If you can't find anything on the well-sorted map, I recommend taking a look at the slate. Here I noticed a tomato salad, sliced ​​paper-thin like a carpaccio and with shavings of Belper Knolle, a local cheese specialty aged three years. I ordered this and didn't regret it. We also wanted the famous Wienerschnitzel. Of course the XXL version, this is served with potato salad, cranberries and lemon, there's nothing wrong with that. If, like me, you don't like potato salad, you can order another filling side dish, I like the French fries allumettes. Everything was simply wonderful, but next time I'll order the smaller one. I rarely have dessert. Today I felt like something sweet, but common sense said no. The wine list is well-stocked with wines from all over the world. It is possible to only have one glass of many wines. The brasserie's furnishings are perhaps a hundred years old and are maintained with great effort. I never actually mention the toilets, the ones in the brasserie are a must see. Everything is perfect in this brasserie. So much quality has its price, I think it's worth it.
