We made a reservation at Jao Praya and only had a limited time as we had tickets for a show. But everything worked wonderfully and we were served quickly. The papaya salad was a dream and so was the Phad Kra Pao and the Phad Thai. We would visit Jao Praya again in a heartbeat. What was also notable was that they were super flexible with spontaneous guests without a reservation. Very sympathic!

The first service was very attentive - after that we were ignored a bit. The 8 spring rolls for CHF 15 were very good and large, the food was also good - but not star-worthy, as it was awarded!

I ordered Pad Thai with tofu. The other people's food came 10-15 minutes earlier, I waited for my food. Actually, they should see that everything comes together for everything. After about 5 minutes of bringing me my food, they told me they had brought chicken. Whether I wanted a new menu with tofu, but it made me so angry because I don't eat meat and I was brought Pad Thai with meat. Restaurants cannot make mistakes like this! There is a reason why I order with tofu. That's why never there again.

Changes in the kitchen since summer 2023. Food is now completely oily, over-salted and sometimes almost inedible. Ordered for the second time today, curry tasted stale and somehow rotten. It's a shame, that was my absolute favorite Thai.

Everything good, fresh and quality. Delivery is also satisfactory, quick and with nice packaging. Perhaps the dishes were a little too savory, which is why four stars and not five. For my taste with less salt it would be perfect. I would also avoid spicy oil on curry.

Worst soup I've ever eaten. I ordered a spicy Tom Kah Gai soup. I received unseasoned coconut milk. Without chillie paste, without fish sauce, without mushrooms, not even a chillie was available. I had to wait almost 1.5 hours for the food to arrive.

Jao Praya offers fine, upscale Thai food (à la carte). They also offer a buffet, which I never chose. The restaurant is small, but I've always found space. But reservation is always recommended.

Another wonderful location in Zurich Oerlikon. The food is authentically delicious and pleasantly large portions. The service is friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is cute and sweet. A successful meal for a nice Friday evening. We will be back

Ordered the grilled duck and chicken pad ka pau with medium spicy level. Everything was delicious and had a good spicy kick. Service was great and we would love to come back if we are in town. I would recommend this place for such delicious thai food that has good spicy levels.

Usually the food is pretty good there but the chicken was really bad this time. I ordered Swiss meat but it definitely wasn't. Disappointed!

they charge you full price for take-away and did not even add any rice to the order. Almost 50.- for a bit of curry and a pad thai, I know we are in Switzerland but this is a huge disappointment and a rip-off

Now my favorite Thai to order in Zurich. The food is really tasty and the portion size is more than enough. The only limitation: The level of spiciness varies from delivery to delivery. Personally, I like to eat very spicy food - but for people who don't like spicy food, this can spoil the food.

Very mediocre Thai food. There is no aperitif or you don't know it although the conditions of the Swiss German are almost powerful, coffee is almost not drinkable, just a broth. Very long waiting time 8 guests came after us and ate before us. Toilet facilities in the uncooled basement and very dirty. Cash payments are no longer possible, you wouldn't have enough money back! I was here for dinner.. ordered 3 dishes. One of them was fish. The service is very slow and unprofessional. We need to order 2 times drink, 2 times bill, 2 times rice. And we ordered a fish on a heating pot, they brought it with a iron pot with 1 little candle.. right, 1 little candle. The fish didn't get warm but just cold. Very unpleasant experience.

Very fine food. I came back from Thailand yesterday, ordered from Jao Praya and I liked it just as much as I did there. In my opinion, the Swiss chicken used is of a higher quality than the chicken in Thailand.

I ordered chicken satay as a starter and pad thai as the main course for delivery. Satay was okay but too dry because it was fried for too long. Pad Thai didn't taste like anything.

Authentic Thai food and loving service! And now pay attention: this Thai restaurant was crowned the best Thai in Zurich by Gault&Millau about four years ago (only applies to à la carte, although the local well-known lunch buffet is also said to be a hit)! And now the best Thai in Zurich also offers the option of Swiss chicken for a small additional charge. You can also get delivery via delivery services, but you might be a little disappointed because the quality is worlds better on site than if you had the food delivered to your home or office. (However, this is not a novelty, as almost all restaurants cannot or do not want to offer the same quality delivery service as they do locally.)

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience today. Some of the food was delivered incorrectly and, above all, three of the four main courses were inedibly spicy, although all should have had the same "level of spiciness". BUT what was really disappointing was that our call to the restaurant was not responded to with understanding or an apology, but rather we were dismissed in an unfriendly manner. I can only advise the (unfortunately not friendly) chef to be a little more friendly in the future.

We ordered food for four adults plus children. Although we specified "slightly spicy" for all main courses, three of the four dishes were UNEDIBLE. One dish was served with rice instead of pasta. And one sauce had leaked. We called and expressed our dissatisfaction. The restaurant showed no understanding and did not want to make amends. Very disappointing!

Order via eat.ch 3 out of 4 menus were very spicy instead of slightly spicy. Hardly edible, would otherwise be fine. 1 meal was ordered with pasta as a side dish, rice arrived, and all the sauce had spilled into the plastic bag. No response when called, unfriendly

We waited 75 minutes for delivery. When it arrived we noticed that the rice wasn't cooked through but was still very hard in places, the portion size was no longer the same but significantly less than it had been a few months ago and the worst thing: there were plastic parts in the food! We had small children as guests. That is not possible. Never again!

Very good dishes, actually my favorite Thai. Unfortunately, sometimes the level of spiciness is incorrect when ordering online. I always order slightly spicy (the lowest level of spiciness), even though I really like spicy. The dishes at Jao Praya that are described as spicy are actually very spicy! When I asked on the phone whether there had been a mistake, I was assured that only 1 chilli pepper was used. However, since it had a lot of chili pieces and at least two chili pepper ends and beginnings in it, this was probably not the case. It's a shame because it's happened several times now. The alternative would be to simply order without the chilli, which I don't really like. That's why I'll probably just call again before ordering, otherwise I can't be sure that I'll get the level of spiciness I want. If in doubt, it is better not to order spicy. But I don't want to deduct more than one star because otherwise the food is really delicious!

A really excellent Thai restaurant!!!

We have been here several times and have really appreciated the friendly service and good food in the past. However, what happened before is not important. The service has decreased significantly in the last few months as it is no longer the same team. On our second-to-last visit, the service was only ok and the food was still good. For today's reservation we had to call three times during opening hours until someone picked up the phone. Then on site I waited at the entrance for five minutes to get a table assigned. Unfortunately no one came. I then saw that the table at the entrance was reserved for us and sat down. After 30 minutes we were still sitting there and no one wanted to serve us. Finally we got up and left.

Food was good, but service was really bad. We ordered a starter, a main course to share and 2 waters (carbonated). We only received the same main course twice (without drinks). They could then no longer “cancel” this. We were later given tap water to drink. The starter was completely forgotten. At the end, the bill showed 2x carbonated water, which the restaurant could no longer “cancel”. I find it very cheeky.

The decor is moderately attractive, the following of our order was no longer available (at 7 p.m.): all dishes with coconut milk, Singha, Aperol. So I ordered spring rolls and another dish (the same chicken, the same tofu) The dish with chicken came after about 20 minutes, the one with tofu after about 40 minutes after request. That was probably forgotten and not all the vegetables according to the menu were included, it seemed to be prepared very quickly and with the leftovers and was therefore not particularly good. Spring rolls (starter) never came. When paying, the waitress apologized briefly for the inconvenience. Maybe it was just bad luck and a bad day.

The sticky rice was al dente and very dry. Mango was frozen, probably from the freezer. Mango sticky rice should be served with fresh mangos especially when it's 12 CHF and it's mango season....

delicious dinner with love. high recommend. I've been here several times and the food has always been very tasty. But currently May 2022; Prices have increased. Unfortunately, the papaya salad is not available as a starter and Fr. 22 for a papaya salad as a "starter" is already worth it. The other prices are also pointing upwards. If you have something left and want to take it with you, you have to pay extra again. The service... Yes the service... far away from the Thai charm that would be good for this small restaurant. You don't feel welcome again. It's better to just concentrate on the expensive food.

Food is super tasty. But, we wanted to order via eat but we thought we didn't want to wait 40 minutes so we would get it take away. Totally on eat with delivery fees and service fees 64chf. Ordered directly in the restaurant, bill 68chf. It didn't make sense to me because it was the same things.

The food was absolutely great, the service was a bit special. Something was brought twice that we hadn't ordered and somehow it was our fault.

I've eaten here several times. Eat authentic Thai food. Service used to be very nice. Unfortunately, they had the menu redesigned and also massively increased the prices. The new service today was unfriendly and cold. What also dampened the mood: at the end we wanted to take the food home as a take-away and when I looked at the bill, it was charged additionally (without informing us)!? I've never experienced it before. It doesn't work at all.
