The food with a view of the lake and mountains was very good. Everyone was very friendly and explained the existing Asian characters to the whole family.

Great ambience, delicious food, very friendly and personal service together with the best lake view in the middle of Lucerne - an all-round perfect meal with the entire family!

Excellent Peking Duck Friendly service

Food is authentic, ambience is comforting, reservation is very much recommended because they are always full. We love the Peking Duck, the crispy Fish, the Chili Oil Beef, even the Spare Ribs. There’s always Jialu in our itinerary whenever we have our staycation in Lucerne. Staffs are very friendly and polite, that’s important too.

The food is ok but the owner, who also does the service, has no decency. She should make her “funny” sayings in her husband’s bedroom.

I've eaten at Jialu a few times now, including last night with friends. The food is always great, especially the crispy eggplants and the service is always very friendly and accommodating, even when, like last night, they have full house. For me the best Chinese in Lucerne 👍😋 Keep it up 💪

Delicious food with fast and good service

I had a very good lunch at the Jialu Chinese Restaurant today. The service was very attentive, charming, humorous and friendly. The food was awesome. I ordered a hot and sour soup that tasted really great. For the main course I chose a tofu dish with peanuts. That also tasted very good. The portion was very generous! Recommended: Gin Tonic with Lapsang flavor If you want a table with a lake view, you should reserve well in advance. But the atmosphere when you're not sitting by the window is also very nice. Conclusion: I would be happy to come back and would be happy to recommend your restaurant.

Friendly and attentive service, nice atmosphere and above all: great food! I currently eat vegan and I had a lot of choice. The Gongbao Tofu is more than recommended.

10/10 authentic Chinese cuisine - we ordered kungpao chicken, chestnut pork belly, crispy eggplant (my favourite!) The staffs are friendly and warm! Dining with great view of Lake Lucerne.

What a gem! As a Singaporean, I always crave for Asian food in my overseas trips. Saw their rave reviews from Trip Advisors and decided to give it a try, and it certainly lived up to its good reputation. Every dish is so delicious. Crispy eggplant, deep fried pork ribs, La Zi Ji (chicken with Si Chuan spice) and the beef soup are must try! It was so good that our family returned the next day for more.

The foods are great especially the fried vege, it is so fresh and sweet. The service is tip top ☺️ highly recommended

Kung pao chicken without shech uan peppercorns..... All a bit blend... For sure a Swiss cook in the kitchen. And a unfrieny waitress(the boss) running around like a headless chicken.

This chinese restaurant was a bit disappointing after seeing all the great reviews. Overall it was not that great, i didn’t enjoy it as much and it didn’t deserve 4.5 stars. The service was slow, even with good amount of staff there, food was mediocre and pricey, and there was no views nor atmosphere of the place. The hot and sour soup was too peppery and missed the spicy hot flavor, didn’t taste authentic like real chinese soup. The other dishes were just ok. The only good thing was probably the white rice lol.

Delicious & authentic Chinese cuisine. We treated ourselves to several starters and two main courses. Everything was super tasty. The portions were also generous and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We can only recommend it. Be sure to reserve in advance - wherever it is good, there will of course be a lot of people.

Horrible experience the listing says it was open til 10 and we were turned away at 9.15… not sure this is authentic either from the look of workers

The Jialu restaurant is in a great location. The menu was very clear. Super friendly service staff. There were two of us there and we only waited 10' after ordering, even though the restaurant was full. I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is very popular.

Ordered 2 appetizers. What they brought were different looking, but we figured it was just their versions of the appetizers. So, we started eating it. Our server comes and says they brought us the wrong appetizers (which we didn’t end up liking) and that she had cancelled our actual appetizers and added the ones we didn’t order to our bill since we had started eating it. I paid for the appetizers and drinks and left. Terrible way to handle that situation. They get a negative rating for the service and since all we ate were parts of the 2 appetizers we didn’t order they get a negative rating on the food too. We spent 70.00 for a sprite, tea and appetizers we didn’t order or like. Just know if you go you’re gonna pay for whatever they deliver to your table whether or not you or the ordered it or like it. And now we’re looking for another restaurant to eat dinner. First bad experience in Lucerne. Won’t be back.

Absolute worst dim sums I’ve ever had….avoid at all cost. the veggie dumplings came out all sticking together and when I tried picking one up, it fell apart because the stuffing was way too watery. The stuffing was blend. The skin were sticky. Absolutely horrible.

The food here was so yummy! Was able to get a reservation the day before with ease and glad I did so because it was full. It’s located at the grand national hotel so the location was perfect. The weather was nice out so they say everyone outside so you had water views. The food itself was fresh and plentiful portions. We had the spicy beef hot pot, dim sum, spring rolls, udon noodles, and the shiitake chicken, which were all great options. The service was phenomenal as well with the waiting staff being super friendly and checking up on us periodically even with so many other tables. Highly recommend!

Our experience was great, we had the imperial menu (highly recommended) and were able to try many different delicious dishes. The service was also very hospitable and personal, the waiting time between starter and main course could have been a little shorter.

Unfriendly staff who send guests out into the sun when there are only two occupied tables. Presumably to attract more guests from the promenade. Also very overpriced.

Food in Jialu is greatly appreciated and the price is acceptable. Especially the La Zi chicken is one of my favorite food. It is the good example of spicy fried chicken. I am definitely recommending this place for everyone. Also, the staff members in there are extraordinary kind and cute. I was served by waitress, Nout, I guess. She was always there to help and improve the service for our table.

Dinner, 6 people, July 6, 2023. Table reserved for 7:30 p.m. Occasion: Celebration of apprenticeship completion. Order: 3x Kaiser Menu, 3 x Jialu Menu. Restaurant pretty well staffed. First impression of service: hectic, awkward, wine list is only presented after intervention. We order 1 bottle of wine for 5 people, but only 4 glasses are brought, poured as briefly as if everyone wanted to try the wine first. Pointing out the missing fifth glass, the service employee leaves and doesn't show up again for the next 10 minutes. When the “Chef de Service?” intervenes, a 5th glass is served, but it has a different shape than the 4 already on the table. We're thinking about what service surprises we'll experience this evening and wondering how a specialty restaurant in such a renowned location can even afford something like that. The main course of the menu is served after 2 hours, at 9.30 p.m. In the meantime it has become windier and cooler, and the Rechaud candles that have been served cannot be used because of the wind. The food is more or less cold, surprisingly but still wholesome and tasty. The question as to whether it would be possible to retreat somewhere indoors is answered in the negative. The mood in the family is now quite low, and there is no longer any talk of celebrating the completion of the apprenticeship. The graduate of the final apprenticeship examination originally wanted to meet colleagues from his class at 9 p.m. The inefficient and overwhelmed service has made this impossible. At 10:30 p.m. we were able to retreat to a table that was a little more sheltered from the wind, where the desserts were finally served. It's a shame, an actually exquisite meal is ruined by truly unprofessional service. A dinner at such a price probably deserves more attention and service. My appropriate criticism of the “Chef de Service” is answered with a jovial “We were just run over by the rush of guests today”, which for me is an unacceptable excuse for a restaurant in a 5 star hotel. With the experiences we have had, we will hardly be guests at Jialu National again.

1:30h stay, including 1:10h waiting. Half of the menu was brought after 55 minutes, the other half shortly before the end of the meal... 130 chf for meager portions - poor value for money

We have been coming to this location every year for our team lunch. The food have always been exceptional. Service was very polite and efficient. We were especially pleasantly surprise by our server Felicia for her attentiveness and how good she took care for us. I have given 4 stars on the rooms because we have always taken outdoor seatings. And now having experienced the indoor table. The room felt a bit tight. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it.

The Chinese restaurant Jialu is right next to the lake promenade with a wonderful view of Lake Lucerne and the mountains. The food is fresh and attractively presented. The service was very friendly and humorous. We will be back.

Jialu's was a great dinner. They have inside or outside dining and always seem busy. The rice is kept over a candle to keep it warm. Walk in later as the sun is going down and have a relaxing meal. Very flavorful. In comparison to other local restaurants the prices are reasonable. Staff seemed rushed but were always polite.

Coming from Lago Maggiore in Italy, we were pleased to find this gem. Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was so friendly, and the portions were very nice. Try everything!

The wifey needed a break from European food, and was dying for good ol Chinese food. We searched this place up on TripAdvisor and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We loved the authentic taste of Asian food and the lovely service was an added bonus too! Highly recommended for those who are looking for Chinese food in Lucerne!

Very nice terrace with a great view over the lake. The service was competent and friendly. Within our group there were mixed experiences on the food.

Ate here for lunch and had the Udon Noodles, Great taste and the waitresses were awesome! Beautiful view right next to the lake .

I was forbidden to smoke a small cigar on the terrace. Table next door 6 people all smoke, make a lot of smoke and it doesn't bother anyone but a small cigar bothers the waitress. I said if someone complains then I'll put the cigar out, to which she replies "no, turn it off now, if people see smoke they won't come" Totally wrong people!!

The hotel is beautiful, the food was great but way too expensive. The service staff was a complete disaster and didn't know the German language.

It was a wonderful evening with pleasant and inspiring conversations with the restaurant operator. Excellent service, great vegan food and a lovely atmosphere completed the visit for us. Only the LED lighting behind us hummed too loudly for me, but only I heard that ;) The location directly on Lake Lucerne is also excellent, easily accessible and quiet, as long as there aren't too many tourists storming the promenade. We will come back next time we visit Lucerne!

Our dinner at Jialu was incredibly good. All dishes were of outstanding quality and the selection was extensive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a separate menu for vegan dishes - a huge plus! :) We also talked to the restaurant owner for a total of 20-30 minutes about a variety of topics. He has a very open, relaxed, humorous way of dealing with his guests. There is nothing that I could even begin to criticize here. You simply cannot miss a visit to Jialu when you are traveling in Lucerne. We would like to come again! :)

Jialu Restaurant is simply awsome. The food is excellent and delicious. The service is really good. Price is a little bit expensive but in the average of Switzerland restaurant prices

Appetizers were fast, hot and good. Food took another 45 minutes because a large party came in. Beef and vegetables were actually cold and server said she would microwave it but didn't offer a clean plate to put newly hot food. Almond chicken was overcooked and dry with water in the vegetables. We ask for salt which is unusual in a chinease restaurant. We were a party of 5 and not 1 dish was finished. When the server noticed no one had eaten much, at that time she ask if we wanted soy sauce or other condiments. After the owner said she would remake the beef and vegetables we told her that should have been the offer when server was told it was cold, not an offer to microwave it. She did not charge for that dish after some discussion, but the rest of the food was bad. 5 hungary people could easily consume 4 meals if they were good.

The food is mediocre (meat hard, way too sweet). The ventilation didn't seem to be working, it was smoky and smelled like kitchen. We waited over an hour for the main course. All in all, this dinner was not enjoyable.

It was wonderful this afternoon to sit outside in the bright sunshine ☀️ with a direct view of the lake. Plus, as always, very fine (tasty) dishes, colorful, fresh and authentic👌🏻😍. The staff is very nice and attentive. We'd love to come back.
