Li Tai Pe in Luzern

We have been coming here for almost seven years yet in February 2024, the restaurant came in to new management and a new chef. We decided, for my birthday, to see if it was still as good as it was before… IT IS! I emailed the restaurant before coming letting them know we are vegans and although there is no ‘substituting’ - we found plenty to eat. Ali Mu was our greeter, seater and server with a dynamic smiling and warm personality. The food was fantastic: crispy rolls, cucumber salad and then crispy tofu- Schezuan style for our main. Needless to say: we’ll be back again without hesitation!

We've been in this restaurant last Friday, and it was really a nice experience. Food was excellent: I ordered Zsechuan chicken one of the most tender I have ever eaten. Service was discrete, kind and very professional, and the place was very calm, I would say classy. Definitely a place where I would come back the next time I visit Luzern.

We had our dinner some days ago when visit Luzern and had the deep impression with the friendly staffs and food here. As they have just opened since the 1st of Febuary 2024, they are trying to get good quality of service and food. The food was so delicious with fried rices, noodle with beef and duck, enough for 2 adults and 2 kids with acceptable price for travelling in Switzeland. And the most interesting thing is we pay by € with the value is the same in CHF, only in this restaurant.

We discovered Li Tai Pe during Fasnacht and very pleasantly surprised how good the food and service. The atmosphere lost a star only because only one couple other than us was dining at the time due to Fasnacht. Li Tai Pe is apparently just 2 weeks under new management and i can highly recommend a visit for some awesome chinese cuisine.

I heard this was one of the most historical Asian restaurant in Switzerland, but never had a chance to visit before. Then I heard they are reopening with new team so I went during my visit in Luzern. The service was great, and the food was amazing! The best Asian Cousine I have tried in Switzerland😻 I would definitely visit again with my family!

This is by far the most RACIST restaurant I ever come across during my trip to Lucerne last December 2023. The guy in coat presumably the restaurant manager gave me an impression that they do not welcome CHINESE as he didn't bother to let me speak when I pushed opened the restaurant's door looking for dinner, and quickly he said "we have no space"! Again we met this guy the next day at lunch time around 1.40 pm as my wife and I visited the outlet, this time he said the restaurant was closed even though their website stated the closing timing as 2.30 pm. To make us further annoyed, he continued to say "don't bother to come tonight as we are also no space!!!!". What kind of customer service was he trying to display???

Not authentic chinese food. I ordered a cabbage salad and the szechuan beef, both marked as spicy and both was very mild. There was also not even a hint of the typical szechuan spices and flavours, just some sort of sweetish, soya sauce dressing. Too much bamboo shoots, and thus really cheap for the price paid (39.- for the beef dish). Not worth a second visit.

The most racist place in all of Switzerland. Me, my wife and 3 year old daughter walked in and asked to be seated. One Indian and two Chinese waiters just refused to give us a table and told us that they have no time to speak to us. I wanted to call the police and make a big deal out of this but didn’t know how it would affect my daughter. Someone needs to teach these punks a lesson

Absolutely recommended. I have eaten at countless different Chinese restaurants in my life, and I can say that this one is a cut above the others. Try the steamed ravioli, how thin the dough is and how tasty the filling is. The price is medium-high but absolutely worth it. Very kind staff, they even remembered us after being there only once, and that's nice.

The food was not seasoned at all, the carrots were still raw and the vegetables were generally devoid of any flavor. There were also very few shrimps in the meal, although the price was correspondingly high.

Customer service was ok. Food isnt so great. The fried rice we ordered was ok. The dimsum had thick dough and the inside isnt good. Its very different from what we have in the US. We especially didnt like the ones w duck. Appetizer soup had very little meat and noodles, mostly just broth. All that were >100.

The place is extremely expensive for what they serve. We ordered some spring rolls as a starter and it was only one, it cost 14 CHF and it didn't taste good. We ordered an appetizer Fe crispy wings and they were tiny, cost 18CHF. Lastly, the Fried Rice, with protein, had a few pieces of chicken and meat, but mostly it only had eggs. Cost 34 CHF. Overall, a very bad experience, they don't use good ingredients, small portions and exaggerated prices. I would never return.

A typical tourist trap and very expensive. The Dim Sum was okay but nothing special ( very doughy and one piece was broken) For a portion of pak choi (the mushrooms were missing) we paid CHF 24.00. For the 8 little king prawns we paid CHF 48.00. The prawns were very small, overcooked and badly seasoned. The beef wasn't crispy at all. Luckily I ordered a great bottle of wine for my wife and me Overall a very disappointing experience. The service was friendly but that didn't help at the end.
