To my knowledge the best quality suhi delivery in Zurich. The food is fresh and of a high quality and very diverse. But best of all, Kai Sushi also delivers. In any case, you won't be disappointed here.

Very nice atmosphere with good food. Some dishes didn't taste quite as good as the others but the SHAKE KUSHIYAKI UDON were very tasty. Service was also impeccable. I can definitely recommend 4.5/5

We ate on the assembly line. Unfortunately very small selection...mostly just simple makis (cucumber/avocado). A chef later pointed out to us that we could also order directly, but that's a shame if you reserved a place specifically on the line. It also took a very long time until we were served and ginger/wasabi was brought (everyone else received one plate per person and we only received one for two people). The dishes we ordered were good, especially the panko was really great. The beef kebabs were cooked a little too long and were a bit tough. We had to wait a very long time for that too. The service was rather poor. Everything took forever, even though the restaurant still had many empty seats. We were often asked to wait a moment. You can notice the quality of the ingredients and everything usually tastes fresh. Price-performance but rather expensive, even for Zurich. P.s. We were on the “Kai-Boat” about 2 years ago, which is highly recommended.

The woman running the restaurant is incredibly competent and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious, we have been many times. I would especially recommend the Mexican roll

Shame to see inflation has also impacted their popular volcano roll. You now get 5 pieces instead of 4, but they’re half the size of what they used to be. For obviously the same price.

Went here for a little snack in front of the Hürlimann Spa. Warm service and very happy with the vegan options. Looking forward to coming back and exploring the rest of the map.

Our go to restaurant for quick dinner with the little one, service was to the point, they even helped me to chase a party Vene request I sent via email just a day ago. Was very impressed by the proactivity of their services. And not to forget mentioning the food, hamachi (king fish head) probably is a very rare dish here in CH, but the little one loved it so much after having it once, then it became her “go to” dish every time when we are there

Conditions and sushi great. However, there is a huge smell throughout the restaurant. Poor exhaust ventilation!

The service is good, but I’d say that food (sushi and ramen) is rather average than very good.

I ordered take away. vegan&vegi. Then they mixed up the orders and gave me the wrong one. The order had to be made again “express”, but it took longer than before. When I received the order again, I noticed at home that the buns were with salmon instead of vegi. taste was good.

The sushi tastes good, but the prices are confusing. And as a result, a surprising bill that turned out to be twice as high as expected. We won't be coming back.

As a Taiwanese living in Zürich for more than 7 years, I have to say their gyoza is the best in town so far. The price is a bit more than average but definitely worth trying. Still trying to see what recipe they take to make it so tasty.

Order via Uber. Messy presentation, not tasty ingredients, the sushi is falling apart, the rice is very strange. All in all, the creations are super bland. One of the WORST sushi experiences so far, worldwide.

Ordered pick up based on a colleague suggestion. Very positively impressed: (i) order was waiting a few minutes ahead of time when I showed up for pickup, (ii), quick, courteous service, (iii), very high food quality, (iv), additional details such as the magnetic closer box which stays closed. I recently visited a restaurant for the first time and was pleased to find it wasn't too crowded at 5 PM. While I found the sushi to be unusual, with toppings like surf and turf and berries, they were fresh and some were quite tasty.

Simply great, a beautiful place, very tasty and the service is wonderful

The nori seaweed sheets were already very soggy and the rice had a strange consistency. Overall, the sushi wasn't convincing. It seems to me that a lot of things were already prepared here before ordering, which would also explain the fact that less than 8 minutes passed from ordering 4 different sushi and edamame to being served.

The services were not good, the waiter was so rude and didn’t impress at all. The food was okay, but the sushi rice was too dry. However, the restaurant was nice and cozy.

Really good service and food. The sushi was delicious. Lots of options if you are pregnant and not eating raw fish. Tasty and fresh ingredients. Cooked salmon bao was awesome. We also got the shitaaka gyoza and they were awesome

We were a slightly bigger table than the average here. From the welcome to the bye-bye: everything was smooth. Even the chefs said bye to us! Edamame as a starter and salmon poke bowl for the main and finish with strawberry mochi: de li cious! Don’t hesitate to visit Kai’s when in the surrounding.

I went yesterday night with some friends there. This is the worst sushi I have had in my life. The presentation of the food is beautiful but the quality of the ingredients and their preparation is aweful. The sushi rice was dry and hard. You can feel that it's old rice probably cooked in the morning and left uncovered. The shrimps were hard and overcooked. The tuna and salmon were tasteless. Very poor combination of ingredients. On top of that, it's extremely expensive for the quality of food. I guess that you pay for the "trendiness" of the restaurant and not for the quality of the food.

The service was very friendly and quick, and the food was excellent. If I didn't live so far away, I would probably be a regular guest. The owner is also very friendly. Only recommended.

Original review, long ago: Okay, I'm in love. Which means I'm biased, and this doesn't reflect badly on any other restaurants: this place is now my favourite Fusion Sushi Cuisine restaurant. I'm thinking I should bring my clan and have us all hop aboard the Train! Update in June 2023: ... But you need to be at the sushi train for that, I don't yet know how to order "omakase" (is that right?) when I do a pickup.

The restaurant presents itself as more upscale, but serves dishes garnished with pepper chips from Doubt.

Such a great place to eat authentic Sushi - excellent service and atmosphere. BUT it‘s very expensive, nothing you wouldn‘t expect in central Zurich.

I musst say that it’s impressive! I was really happy to be host in this restaurant… the food is above my expectations… really yummy even my kids loved it! Amazing stuff, was quick service , friendly , beautiful atmosphere, great music and nice decorations in restaurant !!! Oh yeah definitely I recommend it!!!!! Can’t wait to book again! The sushi was so so but service less than that. I’ve made reservation weeks before and got the table next the toilet. The waiter was not cooperative, refused to offer menu with sushi sets instead insisted on ordering separately which we did not want.I don’t recommend.

The food is fresh and delicious, the space is luxurious and polite. Service staff are very friendly. To start your dinner as quickly as possible, I recommend checking out the menu online. and choose your favorite dishes in advance, the place will be a bit crowded in the evening, so reservation is recommended.

The tuna was tasteless and the nigiris tasted like cologne. pricey compared to the bad quality. The staff are very nice though.

The restaurant was well attended on Saturday evening. However, we were quickly escorted to a free table. Then nothing happened anymore...Obviously there was a lot of staff who were more or less busy running back and forth, but unfortunately no one felt responsible for our table. We had to make ourselves known so we could finally order. The Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon Uramakis looked better in the pictures than on the plate. In reality, you have to look for the fish in the rice. The salmon was very watery. The restaurant was visibly emptying, but the many employees still didn't pay any attention to us. At some point the plates were cleared away, but it didn't matter whether we had any further requests. So we originally wanted another drink, dessert, espresso... But because we were tired of having to constantly make ourselves noticed and no one was still interested in us - even when there were only a few tables left - we've lost our desire for further consumption...For me, a disappointing experience, but unfortunately "post-Corona" it's not a rare experience in the restaurants in Zurich...Although there were a lot of employees, hardly anyone spoke German, uncoordinated service and no one who feels responsible... What a shame!

We had a wonderful evening at “Kai Sushi Lessing”. We were warmly welcomed by the team and escorted to our table. The food was brought and served to us at the “appropriate” time. The food was very tasty and tasted excellent! The little details and the sauces were also delicate. Can only recommend the food and the restaurant. Kind regards and see you next time.

The food wasn't particularly good for that price. The kitchen looked unhygienic and the one chef was always coughing on the food and the ingredients were not freshly prepared. The atmosphere was very hectic and stressful. We couldn't even finish eating without the waiter asking us if we were finished and would like dessert.

Good sushi, very pricey tho, the presentation of the sushi was mediocre. The sushi train did not look very fresh.

The only thing that I could complain about is the choice of music, but that's subjective.

High quality and very tasty sushi, with unfortunately poor service. The food is incredibly delicious, there's no denying that. Unfortunately we were not satisfied with the service. So only 5 of 6 drinks were delivered and after we had already pointed out the missing drink to the waiters for the 3rd time, our 6th drink arrived 30 minutes late. The soy sauce we requested was also never delivered, so we simply served it at the neighboring table. The sushi, however, was delivered quickly. The dessert we ordered was also never delivered and was still listed on the bill. They never apologized for the extreme waiting times and the many errors and didn't change the bill. Conclusion: food great, service unfortunately flop

our delivery came 30min too late. they didn’t pick up the phone when we called. also the sushi was not fresh. it didn‘t look good either. the mochis where melted… really sad.

Upon arrival we wanted a apero at the bar but were forced to go to the table straight away. What a shame! Dirty tables, dirty seating and cob webs. Sushi and Sashimi was not freshly prepared as it came to the table too quick, presentation also could have been a bit more precise! We won't be going back and will not be recommending Kai Sushi Lessing.

Remark : I'm reviewing the lunch menu. I've got good hope that this restaurant is even better in the evening. Food is not missing much to get five stars. Excellent sushis, and some good other options. Service is nothing special although I appreciate seeing part of the kitchen. Atmosphere could get improved, the layout of the room is a bit tigh.

This place is very cool and the offer is very wide and creative! I would remove the running sushi part though. There is one in sihlcity and that is more like a fast food approach. This place is or should aim for more. The dishes on the belt looked 0 attractive and the belt as such was also dusty and not clean. So we ordered everything fresh from the menu and voilà. The presentation was top, the taste was top and it was all nice and fresh. So why would you keep the running sushi there. Is also not a super busy place. I would rather go more a la carte way and its also super cool you can see the open kitchen.

Occasionally passing by and decide to try this sushi restaurant, it's actually pretty good. Nice and quiet environment, exquisite dishes. The price is a bit on the expensive side, but the taste makes up for it.

Nice food, but the Sake selection used to be much better some time ago. Now it's only average Sake, which is highly disappointing. Don't understand why that change was made.

Table reserved, wasn't ready. Placed in the corner to wait (nothing offered to drink). After 20 minutes the table was still not ready. When we asked, the boss gave us an unfriendly answer and even mimicked us! Customer service is different. Never again! We then went to Metropol, where the service and the sushi were excellent. As always.

We came with no reservation around 8:45 pm and after 5 minutes the staff cleaned a table and sat us down. The waitresses were super welcoming and their smiles made us feel even more welcome. We got some advices on rolls as they have a very equipped menu made of so many different flavors. Overall…. Nothing let’s us down… the beef carpaccio, the shrimp tempura, the rolls , the dessert, etc we’re sympathetic great … and I found the bill service and quality of the food more than fair! So happy we came!

Great creative dishes! Each one we had was very good and with some interesting twist to regular things. Fast and attentive service. Cocktail menu is not large, but they're good too.

Price performance for the lunch menu fits: 28.- for starter, main course and dessert. 7.- for hot ginger tea is just overkill... Staff very friendly and quick.

Good sushi but rather tiny portions. Bit pricey I would say. Service is good. Location is nice but a bit dark inside. More like a place to go at night or during winter.

Can only report from the takeaway: Very high quality products, great taste. Packaging made of cardboard with a magnetic closure in a thermal bag to take with you!!! Sure, it's 10% more expensive than others nearby, but hey, they have the best quality and are more environmentally conscious. The high-quality box and bag can be reused many times! Bravo! Keep it up

Good sushi, as well as other Japanese foods. Expensive, of course, like all "exotic" food in Switzerland ("exotic", by Swiss standards, is anything except schnitzel).

Came with a family of 5. Got one totally broken drinks menu and waited 30 minutes till someone asked what would we like to drink. When a waiter came over he spilled hot water for towels around me and the kinds. I used a free set to clean it by myself. Waiter took the napkin used for cleaning and told me I could keep it. We left to another sushi restaurant that we know with higher service standards not only Swiss wise but common world standards.

Okay, sitting out here isn't the coziest place and Kai Sushi isn't cheap - BUT for me it's by far the best sushi restaurant in Zurich! Interesting combinations and freshly made! The service is friendly, the selection is large and the quality is very good - what more could you want. Always my pleasure!

The restaurant was decorated nicely. Plates and cutlery were pretty. But that's about it. Food was definitely not their strength. It is difficult for me, an islander, to accept seafood that is slightly not fresh or sushi rice that was not fluffy and chewy. The service was strange. We ordered three dishes. After serving one, the waiter asked whether we want dessert. We told him we have more dishes and he looked confused and thought we wanted to order again. That was not a pleasant experience.
