The reception was super friendly and organized, even though I had a small mishap with the reservation. The restaurant is definitely worth a culinary visit. I enjoyed a delicious leaf salad and excellent Züri Gschnetzlets. The only drawback, as already mentioned, is the overworked staff and the price. We would have loved to have another dessert/coffee. However, after clearing away the main course, we were no longer noticed, we also made our presence known, unfortunately without success. It's a shame - I'm convinced that the dessert would have been great too. In terms of price, it's more on the upper limit.

Nestled in the heart of Zurich, our dining experience at Kantorei was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm ambiance and friendly staff. We kicked off our meal with two delicious soups . For our main course, we indulged in both fish and meat dishes, each well prepared and presented. While the food was undeniably excellent, the only hiccup in an otherwise flawless evening was the service. It was evident that the restaurant could benefit from additional waitstaff, as the existing team seemed stretched thin trying to accommodate all the diners.

You made my evening unforgettable! The service and dinner were simply great! Thanks to the team, you are the best!

We were able to enjoy a wonderful evening in the choir. We really enjoyed the food, and we were particularly impressed by the freshly prepared Rösti. The service was extremely courteous and we felt completely at home. We'd love to come back, dear Kantorei team! :)

Probably one of the best Sunday Zurich Options

On Thursday afternoon I had a very unpleasant experience with a downright rude waitress. Your rudeness ruined the positive experience of the potentially delicious food. Unfortunately, the service was so disappointing that it is difficult to recommend the restaurant.

Excellent Swiss food. Excellent service. They misunderstood what my wife wanted, brought her the wrong thing and quickly fixed the problem. You know a good business not by how they handle the good times but how they handle the problems. 👍

Kantorei has been one of my favorite restaurants in Zurich for over a decade. It is one of the few companies that places great importance on excellent service. This level remains impressively constant here. The service is very pleasant and friendly no matter what time it is. Child-friendliness without compromise! The food has also been and remains excellent for decades. The lemon ricotta ravioli was perfect! The Wiener Schnitzel a la Kantorei is simply WOW…. My absolute favorite, however, has always been: Irish Black Angus Entercote gratinated with Café de Paris, a culinary revelation. Make a large kitchen look easy: Cantorium

The venerable choir on the historic Neumarkt keeps what its exterior promises. A great Zurich restaurant in the middle of the old town, which my good friend from Basel liked as much as I did. As a starter we treated ourselves to the excellent lemon ricotta ravioli with mushrooms. For the main course we decided on the one hand for the wafer-thin, tender Wienerschnitzel, prepared to perfection, and on the other hand for the classic Zürigeschnetzeltes with crispy hash browns. The portions of the food served were very generous - a real pleasure. But the house wine, dessert, ambience and, above all, the friendly, competent service (from Hamburg) were also TOP. Conclusion: We were thrilled. Again any time.

Stumbled into this restaurant on our way back to our hotel after a long travel day. The food was so good that we came back again the next night. Great food and great service!

The food and service were good. The view is why I gave it an overall 4-star.

I was outside in the afternoon and ordered sparkling water and a piece of QUICHE. The selection in the showcase was extremely poor. The quiche - the size of a piece of cheese - was bad, the base was not baked through and was far too fattening. And at the proud price of 13.50 per piece I am at a loss for words.

After lunch (poultry piccata) I vomited. Never again!

Wanting to celebrate a personal achievement of mine, my dad and I were looking for a good wienerschnitzel and this place hit the spot. I love the way the food was presented even when I ate something as simple as the cucumber salad I was thinking “omg this is so good “. The restaurant is pretty especially on a nice day because you can sit outside by the fountain. The food is very photogenic as well as delicious. This place is great.

We visited the choir spontaneously and just managed to get a place for the two of us, but a really nice one. One part of the restaurant is covered in white, the other part is not. The service was attentive and very friendly and personable. The food, Züri Gschnetzlets and an artichoke risotto with chorizo ​​was very tasty. All in all, a really nice evening, which we ended with a nice beer and nuts. We didn't have any dessert. Absolute recommendation, advance reservation is certainly better.

Good lunch in the cozy old part of Zurich. The food was really good and at a fair price.

The portion of the lunch menu (saffron noodles with salmon) was of a pleasing size: a decent amount of fish and not just a few decorative pieces. The menu salad was also fresh and crunchy and decently portioned, with fine bread. Plus a fruity Verdejo, what more could you want. There's really nothing to complain about here! See you soon!

Well located restaurant in Niederdorf. Helpful service, but a bit overwhelmed. Good food, the lemon ricotta ravioli was particularly tasty. However, there was no burrata in the fennel burrata salad because there was none left. This was not communicated until the food had already been served.

Overall, the food is considered good, but the staff does not have any service mind. We have 6 people and ordered 6 dishes. When the food served , we only received 5 dishes. I was worried that the staff might forget to take the order. I asked the lady staff very politely” Excuse me , there’s still 1 salad right?but she replied, "Did you see I only have 2 hands,!” and the employee looked dissatisfied. I don't understand why she can't give a good answer and just say that another dish is about to be served and it's finished. So, the service is very poor I recommend Asian people not to come to this restaurant because you will be treated very unfairly.

They refuse to speak any language other than german, the menu is only in german.

Unfortunately, this restaurant fell short of my expectations. I strongly advise against dining here. On the positive side, the it boasts a fantastic location and a charming atmosphere. However, the risotto I ordered was an absolute disaster - overcooked to the point of mushiness and utterly lacking in flavor. To make matters worse, when I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she strangely acknowledged that numerous patrons had complained about it earlier.

Swiss restaurant with pleasant environment, service was good and you can ask for recommendations of food . We ordered asparagus risotto this was ok and fresh lemon riccoto ravioli was best .. this had mild lemon and tasted perfectly well.

Unfortunately we didn't eat anything here, we were just out here for a drink. But the service was very nice. We would definitely try the food.

In summer you can eat outside in the Kantorei. Since the road is widened at this point, you get a little more space. The cold bowl soup (carrots with passion fruit) was very good. The rösti with veal liver tasted good, but the quantity was a little too small. The “strawberry cake” without strawberries! Unfortunately it was a bit fattening and I wouldn't try it a second time. The service was attentive and friendly. There is room for improvement everywhere in the Kantorei, but a visit is definitely worth it if you want to enjoy uncomplicated and relaxed Swiss cuisine.

The food was sensational. Rarely have I had such a good Wienerschnitzel, as has my friend's Leberli with Rösti. The dessert was also good except for the chocolate cake, which was a bit dry, which the waiter noticed without me having to say anything. There was a discount on the cake, which I hadn't expected. The service (Mänu) was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Price-performance ratio is perfectly fine. All in all five out of five stars. Gladly again. 😀

I haven't been here for years! A friend suggested trying again after the last disappointment. It was absolutely worth it! Friendly welcome, choice between several tables. Friendly service and Top food even for me as a vegetarian. Wines also available under Fr. 60 per bottle! I won't wait another year to come back. Thanks to the friendly staff!

The Kantorei was always in my top 10. Reserved a table for lunch today. Great place by the window. The drink (Cola) landed on my coat, the bench and the floor. It can happen, but the reaction of the service staff shocked me. A quick sorry, the employee didn't wipe up the spilled drink on the bench or on the floor. I didn't get a new napkin either. I ordered the daily special but was not made aware of the salad or soup. I proactively ordered this from another service employee. The soup came quickly and tasted great. We looked forward to the main course with renewed hope. After 40 minutes of waiting, I asked the waitress. You placed the order incorrectly because you are a learner. With this knowledge, the remaining chattering service team made a doubly bad impression. Learners should be carefully accompanied. While my companion was obviously still eating, the table was cleared and we were asked if we would like to order anything else. In a half-empty restaurant, the hustle and bustle seemed a bit strange. Of course there was no water with the coffee and when the bill came in for CHF 90, there was no apology for my cola coat, nor the 40-minute wait for the main course, nor any other form of accommodation. As we left the restaurant we were said goodbye without a word. It's a way of running a restaurant, but not mine.

They have a great selection for both lunch and dinner and one of the best Café de Paris in the city. The wine menu is super fair priced for Zurich, portions are good for the prices. A safe value, very friendly service. My favorite Swiss beef loin burger in a brioche bun with Züri fries. We spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

I sat on the terrace of the Kantorei, right on the beautiful Neumarkt in Zurich's Niederdorf. The prompt service and the beautiful location directly on Neumarkt are convincing. I ordered a coffee (cup) and a quiche: both tasted good. Although the quiche was slightly overpriced, the great location makes up for the high price.

I was here on a calm Tuesday morning. Well maintained place with a retro atmosphere and kind personell. The coffee is good and served with water. I did not like the chocolate cake, but that may only be due to differences in personal taste.
