Kessiboden in Arth

is located about 5 minutes on foot down the slope from the Rigi Kulm station. We had a very tasty, creamy cheese fondue (one of the best) and the Kessiboden plate. Both are warmly recommended. I can't say much about the view since we were in the middle of the clouds when we visited ;)

Attention! The owner changes the bills! We ate a fondue with my two young children. He advised me to take 2 servings for three, which I accepted. But when paying he tells me: you received 3 portions and must pay for them now. This is theft!

They have cash only and twint but twint it's only for certain people based on how you look! The owner is very rude ... I wouldn't go again

We opted to hike down Rigi a decent bit, which turned out to be very enjoyable and much better than riding the train back down. We stopped by here for wine, beer, and some cake. I was able to order using my very low level understanding of German, and I would recommend at least trying because the restaurant owner seemed generally happy with what I could do. He does not speak English, but understood well enough. The wine was good, the views ad the scenery are wonderful. We loved our picnic experience before trekking down the mountain further.

They had Tyrolean music and good views but it was definitely the biggest downfall of the trip, we wouldn't go back.

5 stars for the views Foods were not my taste at all. Can't blame on them it's just not my type. We tried Cheese fondue. I was asking if we can have it for only 1 person or not cos I was afraid that we cannot finish it cos we have never tried cheese fondue before in our life. But the owner said we need to order for 2 people 😞 And just like what I said... We cannot complete it and left more than half of it. Anyway, the view was wonderful so I rate this shop only for the view 😁 Ps. It was a bit hard to order their foods since there were no English menu available. Quaint little hut - kiosk, small guest room and outdoor areas with a fantastic view of Lake Lucerne. Friendly host and top white wine and mountain cheese. Unfortunately we saw too late that there was also fondue and other delicacies. We'll definitely do that on our next visit!
