Super good soup and very nice service.

Starters were good. But main course was tasteless especially fried rice and bun cha fusion dish! Was expecting good Vietnamese food, but was very disappointed!

Unfortunately I have to give it one star. In principle, I am very satisfied with the delivery and the way the food was prepared. However, the food itself was not convincing in terms of taste. It was ordered twice and 1 dish was really good and authentically prepared. (Thai cuisine) Taste the food more often, keep the menu smaller and don't exaggerate the prices so much. I will try the restaurant again in a few months and would like to change my rating, but at this point I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I ordered my food at 7:31 p.m. and the food arrived at 9:28 p.m. According to them, it was supposed to arrive in 35 minutes, I waited over 2 hours. Thank you for the service!

Very tasty food and very friendly staff, gladly again

This time, I went to eat with four friends who love Vietnamese food. I wanted to eat slowly while drinking alcohol, so I ordered the all-you-can-eat dumplings for the daily dinner. (This all-you-can-eat is only available when everyone in the same group orders) A style where you order as much as you like from the menu. If you order 2 or 3 servings of the same thing, they will put it in the same steamer basket. There is only one type of sauce for dumplings. All the dumplings were delicious, but maybe it was because it was a Friday night. At the same time, there seemed to be a lot of takeout orders. Unfortunately, it took quite a while for the food to arrive after ordering. But there was also a live performance by a very nice and friendly pianist. The entire restaurant seemed to be buzzing with customers and seemed to be having a good time, giving it a very warm atmosphere. At the end, we ordered dessert and coffee, and even though it was close to closing, we didn't feel rushed and had a great time. I will definitely come back again.

This was our first time ordering here via Uber eat. The food was really delicious, with fresh herbs and ingredients. Great, it certainly won't be the last time :)

The restaurant was really good. Now worse than disappointing. The prices are high, quite the opposite of the food. Instead of a bland aftertaste, a puffy train of sodium glutamate. In order to use this sensibly, flavor-enhancing ingredients would first have to be added. Only the incense smell of the shop where the noodles were bought came through. Thanks to the security staff (who were, however, very polite), hardly any guest dared to express their dissatisfaction.

When it comes to Basel, Knock on Wood is the best restaurant in my opinion! Their Vietnamese culinary offering is not only diverse but also delicious. I recently enjoyed their curry dish and was completely satisfied. Oh, and their signature cocktail was simply outstanding!

I have been to this place several times and every visit is a joy when I am accompanied by friends who also share the love for this place. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is consistently excellent. I have to say, the salmon is a must here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and keeping my fingers crossed for another great experience!

Had the all you can eat dim sum meal. All the dishes were very tasty, although we were served quickly at the beginning and less and less towards the end. Which happens quite often when you order all you can eat, unfortunately. I think we were also forgotten because it took a really long time, but we also had a lot of time and so we ate there from 7 p.m. to around 9 p.m. The service could only speak English, it doesn't bother me, but if someone doesn't speak the language it could be a problem if the manager isn't there. I would recommend it and wish the restaurant continued success.

Knock on Wood is the best restaurant in Basel! They have a menu with many interesting options for those who want to try Vietnamese food. I was very happy with the curry and added a signature cocktail which was great.

Extremely delicious Pho bô, as it should be. With fresh herbs, lightly seasoned and not too salty. Really excellent!

We loved every visit to Knock on Wood! Pho is truly delicious with real beef broth and we are impressed with the portion of each dish! Will come back and recommend to anyone who wants to try authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Really disappointing experience. Ordered food via Uber Eats and what arrived was a box of food that was absolutely not fresh! Old lettuce and the meat was sour-tasting. Dry with no sauce provided. Not going back.

We went to Knock on Wood on a Friday and had all you can eat dim sum. We found everything very good, everything was freshly made and we really enjoyed our time. The shop owner was very nice and tried very hard to make sure everything fit everyone. You have to take some time, yes that's true, but honestly, I'd rather take my time and have something very good to eat at a great price. All guests were also informed that it would take a little longer or was not available. I thought it was great and we will go again! Our dog was also welcomed very nicely. Thanks so much

Sadly disappointed. We came from Luzern just to eat the all you can eat Dim Sum there. Only 39CHF but the quality was even lower than that. Only 2 things were good in their menu. First the Crispy Duck bun was good IF it was crispy, we got one that it wasn't and taste quite not right. Then the Crispy Shrimp was okay-ish. The rest you better not try especially the pork and beef had very strong stinky smell.

First of all: takes time, patience and a high level of tolerance for an unfriendly operator --Important-- Read the other reviews and you'll see. That we definitely don't a) as the unfriendly operator says, have no understanding + are unfriendly b) we are not alone in our feelings ---------------- The food was incredibly delicious. Really good food with taste, worthy of a good palate. However, for this meal (all you can eat Friday special) you have to wait a total of more than 1 hour per dish order (for two tables) we were actually there for over 3 hours for 3 orders. Between incorrect deliveries to other tables, forgotten orders, multiple reminders and extremely unfriendly service from a person who insisted that we were unfriendly and incomprehensible. Even after several false reports, NO compensation was offered, only when it was paid and it was addressed was it said that compensation was "always" proactively offered. They then wanted to give us one after we had to mention it, but we refused. This is no longer about compensation, no matter what form the compensation would take, it would not repair/make up for this negative visit. The crown of the story, with renewed emphasis, is this one unfriendly operator, all the other employees were understandable and polite and apologized without classifying us as "unfriendly". (Also rudely attacked the colleague, who was innocent of all things for not reporting it. We deliberately waited until after the payment to mention compensation if any ever came. If the operator reads this, your colleague is toxic, it's not your fault.) Final word, our neighboring table felt exactly the same, felt and communicated exactly the same thing.

We waited 1 hour before getting our meals. Our hunger was suppressed, the quality of the meal was poor and the price was exorbitant in relation to the meal. The only positive point is the cocktail… I strongly advise against this restaurant if you want an Asian dish.

The food is good. There is a deduction for the fact that we had to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes for the starter and another 1 hour for the main course. Water is available in a maximum of 0.5l bottles. There is only one waiter. Everything is designed to “save”. At the end the waiter became very rude. We won't come back here.

A small, fine restaurant with friendly staff. I had fried glass needles that evening and it was delicious. I was full of the portion, a little bit more would be perfect. Families with small children: 1x high chair available, toilets in the basement can only be reached via a long staircase. Surroundings: If you want to eat here in the evening, you have to allow time for finding a parking space.

I love the pho here. The soup is delicious, with tender beef. The Thai iced tea is refreshing without sugar.

A real insider tip: super-fine, fresh food that is beautifully presented (favorite: Empress Plate for 2 people, a variation of Vietnamese delicacies), friendly service, cozy restaurant and a lovely boss. Lovers of Asian cuisine will get their money's worth here!

Disgusting. Order via Uber Eats with egg & cilantro allergy information and add a note with the same information. Food arrives with egg and coriander. Inedible for me. After that they don't even answer the phone. Never again.

Spent a nice evening here with fine food. Creative and varied menu. The Asian burger is very successful and worth recommending. Very nicely prepared. The homemade drinks are also recommended. The service is right. The prices are reasonable for the amount of handwork in the kitchen. Gladly again.

Great food and location. Arrived early so took a look around at what was on other tables and looked great. Had a slamon and avocado summer roll and Pad Thai with Chicken and it was excellent....recommend for anyone visiting Basel. Dinner menu looks great too, so will hopefully get back there sometime soon.

Great place, huge portions, friendly (Hungarian) staff and always a few jokes or kind words what you get here. We eat here a lot, usually for lunch and it's fair to say you don't have to wait for long to get your food. They offer take away and you can dine in as well, although outside there are not many seats (2 at a table). Highly recommended, the food is great, although not that authentic, more European flavours, which for me is a plus.

Just ordered PHỞ for my wife. She's Vietnamese and it wasnt PHỞ. The water is from Bun Bo and even the noodle is not PHỞ, it for different meal. 1 star for the quick delivery but the PHỞ is terrible

We ate at the Vietnamese restaurant KNOCK ON WOOD in the HOTEL EULER. Absolute disaster. Waiter only spoke Italian or English, but that wasn't the problem. While we checked the menu, a waiter cut the floral decorations at the bar and took care of other organizational matters. Fine dining looks different at these prices. The waiters took photos of our dishes before serving, presumably for social media. The cutlery was not changed between courses. The plates were removed while we were still chewing. The expensive beef/meat was still raw and otherwise all dishes were below average. Any Asian snack bar can do this better. Guests at the neighboring table were served the wrong food, which was then taken away and served to other guests. Absolute no-go! By the way, there is no chance of ordering a second drink and no questions about satisfaction and so on. Chic room also smelled strongly of room deodorant. That wasn't an atmosphere for us. Our conclusion: Criticism expressed, no tip and my absolute catastrophe and we can only advise against a visit to this restaurant in the Hotel Euler.

Hmmm! Very good noodle soup! The dumplings turned out to be mini rolls, so don't order too many as they are very tasty (especially the pork belly kimchi version)!

Good vietnamese restaurant. Even though we had to eat on a table next to street due to covid restrictions, we were welcome. Portions are more than sufficient and food quality and taste are good. Prices are reasonable. Only the waiting time to be served the dishes was a bit long. But the place still deserves 5 stars.

We were really looking forward to the food we ordered. Since I am a breastfeeding mother, I wrote a special comment that the dish should not be spicy. Unfortunately my duck curry was very spicy and I could only eat a small portion so as not to distress my daughter too much with her digestion. My partner's dish was, as always, very tasty.
