No vegan dishes on the menu but something will be made if you ask.

A restaurant in a busy pedestrian zone. Upscale cuisine, but also upscale prices. Attractive furnishings with a feel-good character. Staff was attentive and friendly. The food pleased the palate. There is outside seating from where you can watch the pedestrians strolling.

The team around host Rui Osorio Santos is something very special in the city of Basel. They always make you feel very welcome. The ambience of the French bistro has a seductive charm and the excellent cuisine, interspersed with classic dishes, make a visit an experience every time.

We really enjoyed our girls' Christmas dinner. The food was great, the beef cubes were very tender. The Küchlin “Kiechli” is one of my favorite restaurants in Basel! The brasserie ambience and the good staff welcome you with friendliness and good cuisine! A menu with classics and seasonal dishes completes the overall picture. In the middle of the starting mile, a cozy oasis for aperitifs and eating.

I've been eating there on Tuesdays and Thursdays for about 8 years. My partner also has a small one. Restaurant. Neither you nor I know of any restaurant in Basel that is so consistently good and where the price-performance ratio is always right. Bravo to Santos, Cristina and especially to the kitchen. The "Famous Entrecôte" is an ever-lasting choice for everyone, but there are plenty of other good things too...

My partner and I went to Küchlin for dinner. The tarte flambée was good. But my meat was definitely not cooked to medium rare. It was rubbery and almost well done. In addition, the prices are completely exaggerated. I would never eat there again

Was often a guest at Küchlin's to have something to drink or eat. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case as I was very disappointed by the service staff's behavior on June 17, 2023. I was under heavy medication and could only eat or drink a few things, but I didn't want to let the joy be taken away from me and met up with friends in the Küchlin as I often did. Everyone ordered great drinks, with or without alcohol, but unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy them this time. So I ordered “just an iced tea”. When my friends asked if it was possible to serve me the drink in a wine glass (like the other drinks) so that I wouldn't be left out, I was answered with the following words: "No, I definitely won't do that." You can imagine the tone, I don't have to say more, so that's commitment & customer friendliness?

Luckily, the Küchlin remains open even though the cinema is closing. It is a safe value. No big experiments, nothing daring. However, the beer menu could be refreshed. Not a single IPA anywhere.

After a stressful day, I was looking forward to finally eating out with my sweetheart again. Due to a lack of local knowledge, we arrived almost an hour late. We still got the table we had reserved. Well, it wasn't crowded. The reception was friendly. I myself have never eaten Café de Paris before, so I was very excited about the food. Unfortunately they had forgotten the wine, so we had to ask first. The food was good. Not outstanding. Not bad. Good. Price - performance is right. The meat was very good. The sauce, which is the most important thing in this dish, was good. The fries were good. We would have liked more attention from the staff. The wine: Forgotten. After the meal there was no question as to whether we would like an espresso or something similar. Still, it was a nice evening. Would I go again? Since we don't live in Basel, we wouldn't go there again just for the food. If we lived in Basel, then maybe. However, less so.

Actually a good restaurant, but here too there is the widespread bad habit that you don't get a proper bill, but rather some proofs or interim invoices that the boss can then cancel in the evening. By the way, you shouldn't submit something like that yourself as expenses. 1 star deducted for that. And another star deducted because the cola was bought in Germany (see label, under €1) and then sold for CHF 5.90 at the Swiss price.

There are 4 stars for the ambience, menu and service. For the confident prices only 2 stars. The drinks are among the most expensive in the city (+10%) and the price increases over the last 12 months smack of “usury”. The consequence of this is a significant reduction in my visit frequency (once a month instead of once a week). A pity.

Basically nice bar/restaurant, but completely disorganized! Although you have already expressed your interest in a seat, the seats are given up to customers walking past without any resistance - that's why 80% of broke vultures block the outside tables and then sit for 6 hours in front of their cola, which evaporates faster than they can drink it.

Unfortunately, very unfriendly, cheeky and incompetent staff, I sat there for 20 minutes on Sunday around 8:10 p.m. Francesco wasn't served by the staff, it's not possible for people to look for and serve people of their choice. They didn't want to call the boss for me either, in the end I got the business card from the store with an email address so that I could submit my complaint.

Very well-kept restaurant in a very nice atmosphere, in the middle of Basel's vibrant city center. An oasis of comfort and enjoyment. Very friendly and competent staff, led by a great boss. In warmer seasons it is worth sitting outside to comfortably watch the hustle and bustle in the promenade, for example with a fine cocktail and delicious tarte flambée. My personal recommendation: the fake snails and the tartare. Parking garages and public transport are a few minutes' walk away.

Firstly a heads up: it's not a cheap place to just seek hang out food since it's located in the city center. But it's definitely worth to come and enjoy yourselves once in a while, the food and customer service is always on point. Been to this place for about 10 times now and never once did it disappoint. Even if you aren't feeling to dine in you can always just order a nice beer and relax a bit there! Edit: 11th time, had their seasonal salmon&tuna tartar and for dessert I had a homemade tiramisu, it wad amazing!

A regular customer at Küchlin Basel for years. My favorite beef entrecôte gratinated with Cafe de Paris. The only downside to sitting inside is that it's loud and the tables are very close together.

I've been there 4 times now, each time they either didn't have the simplest order (which I can't imagine for a bar/restaurant that doesn't have Redbull and coffee) or they didn't bring me what I ordered and then had it too I still have the audacity to try to convince myself that I ordered that. Price-performance for Glace Coupes is not right here. A Coupe Denmark for CHF 13.00 is already in the upper range and should therefore be equipped accordingly. I had practically no chocolate sauce in the cup and complained about this, so I was given an extra cup (this is standard in most places). When I paid I realized that I had been charged an extra CHF 1.50 for the chocolate. I would love to come back and eat a cordon bleu or entrecôte, but I definitely won't eat a coupe here again.

The Entrecote Café de Paris is one of the tastiest things to eat. It couldn't be better. Sensational. And for dessert, the mixed chocolate mousse. A dream. This is what culinary paradise must feel like.
