Dear Soho team I would like to share my experience at Soho Bar last week as part of a group. We first ordered water at the bar and were kindly asked to sit outside as our drinks would be served by a waiter. Everything seemed to be going well until another waiter appeared with dark blonde hair and a particular pronunciation that was perceived as aggressive and unfriendly. I've met this waiter several times at the Soho Bar, which suggests he's been working there for a while. It is understandable that many guests consume alcoholic beverages on a Saturday night, but this should not result in condescending treatment of those who order water. We can't speak for others, but this particular waiter was very rude and his behavior negatively affected our experience. Furthermore, the water bottles were normal glass bottles that had obviously been filled from the tap. When we asked for sealed water bottles, the waiter didn't seem to understand and responded with incomprehension. This lack of transparency and the subsequent unprofessional behavior were disappointing. In my opinion it is unacceptable to charge such a high price for water that was obviously bottled from the tap. This represents a disproportionality and raises questions about fairness and transparency. As someone who has frequented Soho Bar many times, I'm sad to say I can no longer maintain my support. Overall, I hope my review helps bring about improvements and provide a better experience for future guests. Thank you for your attention. Best regards.

One of the best bars in Basel. The perfect place to stop by for a drink after work or to just unwind at the weekend, be it at the bar or later in the club. All drinks are made from high-quality products and the cocktails are prepared with great attention to detail. There is also a delicious range of finger food for when you are slightly hungry. The staff is competent, friendly, organized and attentive. One evening when I wasn't quite sure what to order given the large selection, Nik, one of the bartenders at soho, gave me very professional advice and prepared me an incredibly delicious cocktail. Since then, as a cocktail lover, I have been happy to go to soho again and again and, in addition to the long drinks and classics, I also enjoy their creative new creations.

Here as part of a corporate event. Indian food was quite good, service at the bar friendly, though sometimes took a while with 200 people (had the feeling we were way too many people for them to service). Good music, nice atmosphere downstairs. But WHAT were you thinking stuffing 200 winter coats in a tiny Garderobe with no apparent system?!? 40 MINUTES to find my coat during which time you told me I was no help at all (when I tried to help you look as you had no clue)??? Awful experience which ruined the night.

Drinks are okay but way too expensive, even by Basel standards. Depending on the DJ, there is a good mood and a pleasant atmosphere.

It wasn’t full or overload that the service would be under stress or pressure. We ordered our drinks, after waiting around 30min we asked if our drinks were forgotten (can happen) we asked the same guy we ordered. Just that this time he responded with, oh I don’t take orders…ok but did you forward our drinks from before ? No!!! Is this a joke ? Couldn’t say that in the first place ? We left, thanks for the wait…and our invisible drinks

I had an incredibly unpleasant experience at Soho Basel. My friends and I arrived at the bar around 23:30 and spent an hour there. Wanting to explore the bar, we went downstairs and returned to find a free table in front of the bar. While perusing the menu without interacting with anyone, a neighboring table falsely accused us, prompting security intervention. Confused and shocked, two security personnel abruptly and rudely forced us out, causing scratches on my hands and a hematoma on my leg. Despite our attempts to understand the situation, the staff's behavior was unacceptable. I've never experienced such harassment before. They even threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. A disappointing night marred by inappropriate staff conduct. Result: they dropped me on the floor, I have a fixed hematoma on my left leg a girl 27.y.o! - it’s an absolute lie that we did something to the next table ! That women start yelling on us out of nowhere , drunk or not drunk, nobody has done any expertise, I’m telling you that nobody had any bussines with that table next to us ! You even didn’t try to understand that fact !

Great atmosphere with nice service staff. Serious security staff and delicious cocktails, especially when prepared by the bartender Ahmed, who puts a lot of passion and love into the cocktails. In short, the perfect place to spend a great time.

Top of the line but a little expensive

Traveling with some friends who drew me to this bar. At first I thought the decoration was nice and there weren't that many people on a Friday evening, so I found it pleasant. But the music was extremely bad, such a nonsensical mix that you can neither dance nor listen and have to leave the place again if you are melomaniac. Anyone who changes the song they mix about 5 times within a minute and 30 seconds - from Lady Gaga, to Mozart, Despacito and hip hop at the same time. If the whole thing still fit together, it didn't.

Always a great place for a pint

I was traveling with 4 colleagues, 3 under 30, one 45+ and I 55+. Unfortunately we were denied entry because of the two old people. That's why I only go out in Zurich, where there is no age discrimination. Soho, shame on you

Cool pub, bar upstairs with DJ dance floor downstairs and friendly service. We didn't eat anything, just drank something in the evening and partied.

We were given a table and were able to change it after 10 minutes. Afterwards we were promised we could stay there. After 30 minutes we were asked to leave the table for other guests who didn't even show up on time for the reservation. After the complaint we were given a table again and after 20 minutes we still weren't served. Emptying the dishwasher was a priority.

We really enjoy going to soho, the staff is always very friendly and the drinks are TOP! The Loka also has lots of great events! Keep it up, we'll be back.

Teach the waiter German. English service is not possible in the Swiss city of Basel. No menu, no drinks menu. Newfangled via app, so you can also stare at your hand in the bar? No thanks.

Security in the club unsympathetic

Everything here is really inviting, I was in Basel for work and the location stands out very positively, first-class design. The drinks were top-notch, the staff were very attentive and really nice. Why am I only giving 4 stars because I could only pay without cash, I don't like that at all and it's bad manners to treat the service like that, because if I pay with a card there's hardly any tip, I solved the problem with cash, but Who else does that and I still need cash, if I had known that in advance I wouldn't have visited SOHO. I find card payments to be deeply inhumane, and it's a good thing that my future is already shorter than my past, so I don't have to endure it for long anymore...

Came here for a Apéro after work with colleagues and the servers were welcoming and accommodating. I was a bit early so they were very attentive. But customer volume picked up very quickly and there was only 1 server for the outside area. We were there for a little over an hour in total. I wanted to order another drink half way through, but i sat with an empty glass for 30 minutes and decided to just leave as it was difficult to get their attention. I recommend additional support for the server, but perhaps i will need to be more demanding (which i tend to feel guilty as i know they work very hard!) I ordered the sunset cocktail and it was delicious. And we had the hummus and baba ganoush with warm pitas.

Dear Management, I would like to make a complaint against one of your security men (The Turkish one) which happened yesterday, 13.05.2023. The rules was that without a female partner or reservation, one can not get in. We came with our partners, got the stamps and got in. We went out of the club, on our return one security man said we could not get in again because the club was too full. We understood and wanted to even leave. To our greatest surprise he gave the stamps to two white men who where not even inside before to get into the club. We would not like to see this kind of discrimination at Soho. It's a club we come to most weekends. I think these kind of security man with discriminatory/racist behaviour should not work for Soho. He should be fired!! In another situations, Soho has as rule not allow men with short trousers or sportive dress to get into the club. My friend was refused entering, whereas a white man with shorts infront of us was allowed to enter the club. We confronted the security man, but he said nothing. Is this actually the rules of the club or ways to refused/limit entering of some particular races into the club? There are club security men from different races, is this just a way to fool the public the club isn't racist? I employ the management of Soho to look into these discriminatory/racist behaviour from their security employees. Best regards Dr. Elvis Ajuh

Great bar in the heart of Basel... My friend who live there recommended this to me...So many drinks and cocktails on drink card... They accept only card... If you want daily relax from job come here... It's not so busy daily... At night always full of people especially at weekend... Friendly and kind staff 👌... Always good atmosphere at night...i think it's good also with friends and with girlfriend... Price is ok for Switzerland... Not so expensive... Music ok... The atmosphere in the bar is great. It's just as great to sit outside and watch the people strolling around. 😀 The people in and around the bar are extremely friendly. The cocktails 🍸 are awesome. One of the most welcoming places I’ve ever been to. The staff is SO nice and they make sure everyone is having a great time. Their NYE party was absolutely fantastic, and even though the venue was completely packed, I did not have to wait for more than 2 minutes for drinks (which were amazing as well). Great for cocktails! We let the bar tender decide our cocktails. It was a super warm afternoon and all we said is “something refreshing” and boy did he deliver! Great spot, lovely drinks and nice music too!
