Kuhn in St. Gallen

I visit this bakery every Saturday to grab a coffee to go. I always order with 'lactose-free milk'. Unfortunately, the odds are 50/50 if I get oat milk instead. If I specifically want oat milk, I ask for it, but even if I clearly state that I DON'T want oat milk, nothing changes.

I have been a customer at Kuhn for a long time and love the baked goods there. Unfortunately, prices are rising immensely - in my opinion disproportionately to inflation. In addition, the products are becoming smaller and smaller, this is particularly noticeable in the case of sandwiches. The price/performance ratio is now questionable. Unfortunately, I keep noticing fluctuations in the product quality... What a shame about this previously great bakery...

The food and drinks are very good but the service is totally unprofessional. The waitress came with every piece of our order one by one, she forgot the coffee, when we asked again, one colleague brought our coffee to the other table and didn’t even apologise. The table next to us, asked for their order and the answer was totally unprofessional and blamed her colleague for the delay. I will not go again and I don’t recommend.

Since I work nearby, I bought my breakfast at Kuhn almost every day. Today was definitely the last time. The egg roll that I bought was definitely not fresh but had been in the fridge or freezer overnight and thawed again. I think this is an absolute disgrace and a disgrace on the part of the customer. If they couldn't sell them all, they should either give it away to a food bank or declare that it was from the previous day and offer it cheaper. I'm willing to pay more, but I'm not willing to pay the high price and get a hard, dry product. Then I'd rather go to Migros. Maybe not top quality but guaranteed fresh. A former customer.

Very cool bakery with delicious sandwiches and fine specialties such as variants of nut croissants. Unfortunately, the younger staff isn't really friendly in the morning and the orange juice to take away comes in an XL plastic container. If you ask, it is also not possible to drink a 2dl of orange juice briefly at the counter (then you would have to sit down in the café separately next to the take away order and order again. :-). The Guezli with coffee is also only available at Take Away upon explicit request. Having worked in the service and morning coffee business myself for a while, things like this pain me. ;-)

The iced coffee is really good here. Unfortunately the service is very bad here.

I sat down at the table wanting a cool drink. Unfortunately, I had to wait about 15 minutes for service. Very disproportionate in relation to the number of customers. But the bread is world class!

Beautifully located Kafi with a huge selection of fresh baked goods. Ideal for a snack or lunch. Very nice staff.

Too much effort to look for the salt shaker for a roll you bought from you! Horrible service thanks for nothing!

+: Coffee was good, but that was it with the positive things. -: Staff was not very welcoming or friendly. We went to the counter to order and, like every tourist, we had our own water bottles with us. We made no motion to drink from them in the café, of course, but the waiter told my father (who held his bottle in his hand) in very sharp tones to put the bottle away and that he should not dare drink from it. Normally, we would have left the place in such a situation, but we'd already ordered and nothing else was open, so we stayed anyway, but we did not feel welcome there. Also, they had no cakes or pastries ready and only put them forward when we had already ordered without asking us if we wanted some. All in all, it was a very negative experience. We won't return.

I wanted to buy these great looking “monsterli” or “muesli” for my children. Unfortunately, we noticed at home that they were so dry and inedible. I also noticed that the saleswoman didn't get the fresh ones from behind the glass at the counter but from somewhere at the back. That was already suspicious anyway. How old are the products you sell? Wouldn't it be better if you wrote that these are from yesterday and therefore the price is lower? Unfortunately we won't be buying anything here again.

I'm sorry, but at least the peaks on December 24th should never have been sold, they were absolutely inedible. Old and bone dry, regardless of whether it's nut peaks or lye peaks. At least it seems like this is a classic bakery, but maybe it was just a bad day. But the price is way too expensive, so I'd rather have real baked bread like in Migros, which is half as expensive but still tastes pretty good. We wouldn't go there anymore.

Great breakfast and even better service. We were served at the table by Jacqueline and were extremely surprised by her great service. At the end we were even given a bag of cinnamon stars. We would be happy to come back and thank Jacqueline very much for her kindness!

Sandwich and food itself are very good. However, on a social level, the workers are completely incompetent and disrespectful. Wanted food, was told you had to order at the table, waited 15 minutes while 3 workers chatted behind the counter. Got up and left. Farewell was also ignored. A few weeks ago I was in the café one morning. Around. At 10:45 a.m. a reserved sign was placed on my table. There were also other free tables of this size. I was then informed that I had to leave the cafe at 11:30 because "a lot of people will be coming for lunch" and the table is needed. I actually wanted to eat something, but the waitress wasn't interested and I had to leave.

Excellent sandwiches and desserts and very friendly staff. The wait was a bit long to order a coffee at the table.

Wanted to enjoy a leisurely afternoon coffee. At the counter, when we were choosing the baked goods, we were rudely told that we should order the coffee at the table. Coffee was then ordered at the table. When the coffee came, the cup was so full that it ran down the side. We had to wait about 15 minutes before we could pay. The food was good, but for this price and the seemingly unmotivated conditions, our next afternoon coffee will definitely not be in the Kuhn.

Very nice shop. To linger and enjoy. I think, together with the other two Kuhn shops, they are the most beautiful and best bakeries in the city of St.Gallen. What is highly recommended: the cow salad.

Good selection, bad service The young lady with blonde hair was very unfriendly and gave me my lunch with such indifference, as if I had the feeling that she had no desire to serve me. Kuhn actually has a good reputation but didn't think the staff would be so disappointing. Therefore rating with one star. The Kuhn in the city has been re-opened, but you still have to work a bit on the operation and motivation of the employees

I was there on Saturday with a colleague, we were served very quickly and the coffee and later the aperitif were very tasty.

Nice selection, good lunch menus. And above all, some exceptionally attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately sometimes a bit overcrowded. All in all recommended.

A bit crowded, staff relatively friendly. Dogs indoors in the bag are no problem. Large ones are at least tolerated. Payment possible with Twint.

Unbelievable........I ordered a roll to eat here....the lady put it in a takeaway bag for me....I didn't think anything of it....then I sat down at a table. ..and started to eat...5 minutes later an employee came and said she wasn't allowed to eat takeaway rolls here, that's a different VAT...that's not possible...I was almost thrown out...I said I wanted it from the start eat here...that's what the unfriendly lady said. .but it doesn't look like that when it's packed....it's still ok....the data comes that you don't even want to see the certificate.

Coffee was delicious, it was my first time there and I just trashed a rude waitress who didn't give me enough change. It's a shame!

For lunch: The menu without vegetables, gratin consisted of not soft potato slices with liquid Kuhn, you can do better!

Very good bakery with friendly staff. The plait is very fine and the bread is also very good.

Coffee is as expensive as barista coffee, but it comes from the machine and unfortunately tastes like nothing. Baked goods don't taste good at all, are hard, chewy and don't seem fresh (rolls with cream cheese, pretzels with brie). Only the stuffed focaccia is very good, but that's it. Unfortunately for me it is one of the most expensive and worst tasting bakeries in SG. Not recommended, except as mentioned above for the stuffed focaccia.

I love the hot chocolate coffee, very good, and the butter croissant.

The best braid within a 50km radius. And everything else is very nice too! You can also have a lovely breakfast or even lunch there. Be sure to reserve a spot on Saturday, otherwise no chance.

Staff very, very friendly. The selection is also very large, from sandwiches to warm ones such as pizza. Seating is available outside and inside and is served. It's a bakery, so you can of course take drinks or food with you. The coffee is very good as is the food. Furnishings very modern and relaxing. I can recommend it very well.

Unfriendly employees (at least one employee)! There were 3 of us and we ordered something to eat at the counter, we expressly told her that we wanted to eat here. Then we wait a long time to eat, then an employee came and asked us if the food belonged to us. When we gave the confirmation she told us in a cheeky tone that we have to order it at the table and not at the front. Then I told her that we ordered it from her employee and she should know. Then came a cheeky answer: "No, you have to order at the table, how would you know that we ordered food." There's nothing on the table that says we can't order food at the counter. You can talk to each other, but it's an impertinence to speak with such a tone. She really took away my good mood. For now I'm satisfied, but in the future the employees should treat each other in a friendly manner, even if there are inconveniences.

Tiptop. Friendly service, great coffee. Pizza and baguette also highly recommended.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. Its location is pretty convenient. Bread was freshly baked and very tasty. They do accept cards and speak good English, which is very convenient for foreigners.

Had the monthly pizza last week (spinach and bacon) and as always the pizza was a) super tasty and b) a quarter is enough for lunch if you're not really hungry. In addition, the women (I didn't see any men) at Neumarkt are always extremely friendly. Thanks!

How right this Michael is, but I was served very nicely the day before yesterday, but I gave the orange jar back because it WASN'T FRESHLY PRESSED and I certainly didn't want to pay around CHF 7 for it. But then I was happy about the food that was served straight away, even though the pizza was full of pepper, but I had only ordered a quarter: with pineapple... any way, I was satisfied and also gave a small tip... and now that: you should pay attention to my contribution at salt.ch in this same Migros building... I will be sure of compensation for pain and suffering... so that the boss knows which fine lady it is, I will go take a photo, and it seems to me This man who was standing behind the counter is disabled himself... I then spoke to him when he wanted to run away...
