We received a very friendly and courteous welcome at the Gasthof Kuttelbad today. In addition to the friendliness of the owners, we were also immediately impressed by the beautiful ambience. After a nice conversation with the owners, we were recommended the tarte flambée, which was very delicious. There is a very nice path from the town of Wasen that leads you directly to the inn. A possible return route runs above. If you walk this way, you will see “welcome” signs pointing you to the restaurant early on. In our experience, it means exactly what it says on the signs.

The Gasthof Kuttelbad and the two hosts are a MUST to get to know. Yes, the journey was adventurous, but it is changing. The welcome and the hosts are very warm, the food is excellent. The inn is located in the middle of nature, you can relax really well because nothing disturbs the peace. We stayed at Schlafkäse, which was fantastic. But the night was also starry. After this restful night we were greeted with a great breakfast. I can ONLY recommend this inn. Dear Olivier, dear Ursula... keep it up. It's a complete pleasure 😍🤩😘

Unfortunately, it looked as if we had only woken up from hibernation on August 3rd, 2023. Around the house and the garden area were not inviting. After a long wait, food was served at the next table and the other guests who arrived after us were told that they should order from the buffet. Then I had to go to the toilet and then saw that one person had to do everything completely alone. We didn't order anything to eat, even though we actually came because this gentleman was completely busy, which is understandable, it's not possible that you have to do everything. We wanted to spend a pleasant afternoon there because we had heard about it several times. Unfortunately, the first impression was sobering, as there was nothing outside ready to receive guests. There was tall grass around the cheese house where you can sleep, the house was covered with tarpaulins and the lounge chairs were so squeezed into each other and crooked and the tables were completely bare and no information about ordering yourself or anything like that, just a shame. And this gentleman is probably the least responsible. Why aren't there at least two people present and preparing? Because of a lack of staff? Where was the boss? It's summer, in the middle of the holiday season and the weather is beautiful. I don't fully understand it and think it's a shame. Plus it's only open hourly for 4 days, so you just expect more.

The culinary and the whole atmosphere are unique! Attention: pay attention to opening times!!

The overnight stay in the "Emmentaler Käse" was wonderful... the host was very friendly and we didn't miss anything. The breakfast was wonderful. My tip... order tripe in the tripe bath, highly recommended.

From the reception to the farewell: warmth. The sleeping cheese is highly recommended. This adventure is a MUST. In this beautiful place of power you are completely embedded in nature. Simply fantastic. The restaurant is also highly recommended.

(Twint possible / WLAN does not always work) Location: The tenant from Paris showed us all the rooms. It is worth it .. A beautiful house! A few friends were already there for an overnight stay and were really excited. Would also be great for someone who wants a network-free weekend. Funnily enough, no other path leads directly to the top or bottom of the Beitz, so you can get off the bikes via the terrace and continue later, which of course leads to funny encounters/or ideas :-). We were able to spend our lunch break here during a good hike. The host had a very good eye for the needs of his guests and also our four-legged companion. Food came promptly and was just right. At that point he even managed the store on his own. For that I have my utmost respect and 5 stars!
