This restaurant is so comically overpriced (yes, even by Swiss standards), it was almost worth it for the laughs. Like I thought they might be running a credit check before they placed my order. From the price, I fully expected my bottle of water to come with sparklers and be brought out by girls in bikinis (sadly, it was not). Now, I will say, the view is glorious. I’m just pretty sure you could put a down payment on a similar property for the price of lunch. There are restaurants with eye-watering price tags that are easy to justify based on the incredible food and service. This ain’t it. My CHF 70 prawns were bland and not even completely deveined (I can handle deveining my own seafood, I’m just perplexed by a partial job from a kitchen serving only 3 tables, two of which were only having wine). My boyfriend’s CHF 50 salad defies words so you’ll have to take a look at the photo. I regret that I didn’t snap it before he took two bites, but apparently credit checks take a LONG time to run in Switzerland and he was practically chewing the tablecloth by the time we actually got our food. Not that he was in much better shape after eating - turns out you need at least CHF 100 worth of food for a normal person at La Diala. We were almost tempted to order desert just to see what CHF 25 worth of berries looked like, but we were eager to get somewhere else to eat before other restaurants stopped serving lunch. In case you were wondering if maybe the service made up for the bland food and outrageous prices, we waited so long for our food that we ran out of water shortly after the dishes came, and I practically had to throw myself at a waiter to get another bottle (no sparklers with that one either). Oh, and I wrote this whole review while waiting for them to bring the check. Here’s the pro tip: the wine prices looked reasonable at first glance (CHF 13-20 per glass of some decent looking whites and rosés). So come have a glass of wine, enjoy the stunning view, and try to suppress your giggles at the people paying these prices. They fall into one of two camps, by the way: relatively normal people who’s shocked faces at the prices will amuse you, and completely over they top people trying to impress each other who will amuse you even more (the table next to us is debating how many seats a private helicopter should have, with one woman claiming that she’s “conservative in these things because she the granddaughter of a banker.” 😂). Update: the prawns gave me food poisoning I hate that place. 🙈
