La Manufacture in Basel

Beautiful ambience and lovingly prepared food. I can particularly recommend the vegi burger. In spring summer with garden.

We had dinner as a couple. Unfortunately we had a rather small table, which is why the table was quite full. The neighboring couple also sat pretty close to us, so we would have liked a little more space. For starters we had balls and nachos. The balls were great and the dips with them were good too. The nachos were rather difficult to eat. Since the cheese was already quite hardened, the food was unfortunately cold. For the main course we both had a burger and sweet patato and normal fries. The large portion was a bit too big after the starter, we should have taken that into account beforehand. All in all it was a nice evening. The food was good but the prices were too high for my taste.

We were there for brunch. Bloody Mary tasted very good. Egg Benedict was very tasty. The fruit salad with it was rather inappropriate - I would have preferred to eat something salty with it. Truffle potatoes - were a highlight!

The service was very friendly and very accommodating, but we ordered our burgers medium and they arrived pretty raw. We didn't think anything of it and went home after dinner. We both became very sick and both had to vomit. We won't be returning.

I can recommend the El Gringo Burger and the fries were also great, but the ketchup was a bit bland. What I found unfortunate were the nachos, the cheese was so hard that it was hard to break the portion apart. I wouldn't recommend. But the waitress got it back! Extremely personable, very attentive and quick.

My husband had the pulled pork burger, and he was in awe with it. I had a regular cheeseburger, and it was good, not he best that I've had, but pretty decent. The sweet potato fries were very tasty. The ambient is very laid back, and the service was nice. We had a reservation in advance.

Everything was impeccable! The food was definitely top quality and melt in your mouth delicious. The servers were very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was very cozy and friendly. All in all, I strongly recommend La Manufacture!!

Food is very good here. However, it takes always super long to get the food served. Last time I booked there, it took them 35 min to get the food after ordering.. that's too long especially for a lunch break at work!

Came here a few times for a dinner and recently also for brunch. While this place is famous for its burgers and the vegetarian one is just as awesome as the others, the brunch though was not as impressive. The brunch menu is a la carte style with mainly pancakes and eggs, so not really made for sharing. No mixed platters with variety of cold cuts, cheese, bread or jam for example. Overall good, but the portions of pink pancakes for example was just tiny for the 17 chf price. Tap water is 7 chf.. Inflation is a big contributor, but not sure if for everything. Bottom line is that you kinda spend 30-40 chf for a snack and coffee Atmosphere is cosy and it’s a trendy place so make sure you reserve a table and you figure out parking since there’s not easy to find around on the street. Staff is friendly and service is ok

Best burger I’ve had in Europe, really creative and totally nailed any flavor combination

Food is good but expensive for what you get (breakfast) We were not informed that we only had 1.5-2H to eat. After 1.5 hours we were asked to clear the table in 10-15 minutes. A few plates had already been cleared away even though we still had food on them. Rather uncomfortable if you want to have breakfast in peace in the morning.

The burgers are great, but the desserts are lacking. Their Tiramisu is more cream than a layered delight.

Fries were only lukewarm when they came to our table. Otherwise very tasty.

Price-performance not appropriate. The idea is great and the selection is good too.

Lovely spot in Basel! We enjoyed the food but we expected the Hot Fury burger to be spicier! The salad bowl was great, very fresh and crunchy veggies! I will definitely visit again, also to try their brunch. The service was very good and the place was relatively calm for Sat lunch.

I like the atmosphere of that coffee shop and we went several time for brunch. However, I was a little disappointed today. I ordered an açai bowl and it was partly frozen. It was really unpleasant to eat such cold dish. Hopefully next time they will make sure the berry puree will be totally defrosted before serving it.

As always a great lunch at La Manufacture. Best burgers in town.

Very friendly staff and very good 🍔. I only had one 🍔 but I assume the rest is good too. The homemade lemonade was also great. When I'm back in Basel, I'll be happy to come back. We got the table for two people without a reservation, even though everything was full...

A Fast food at the price of a dine-in restaurant. Quite busy at lunch time. I have not been impressed by the food or service, but the place is appreciated by locals, which I'm not.

I ate the best burger of my life here. If you're not a burger fan, you'll still be happy here. The fact that everything from the bun to the sauces is homemade makes the difference. Great! The service was very attentive, friendly and uncomplicated - even with special requests. I will come back because I saw a few things on the menu that I would like to try.

Really nice place. Quick and friendly people working there. I liked the food. Could be more bio in my opinion:-) but well done. Young and old, hipsters and normal people, all together.

If you want one of the best burgers in a cozy atmosphere, Manufacture is the right place for you. My recommendation: Hot Fury Burger, a craft beer and a piece of cheesecake for dessert. I've never been disappointed. If a fruity IPA were to find its way back onto the beer menu, a 6th star would definitely have to be discussed.

Sunday brunch; It was very tasty, unfortunately a bit uncomfortable as the table for lunch was already taken again.

We came here for brunch 30 minutes before closing and were greeted with a very bad attitude and look from what appeared to be the owner of this place. She said “I have to feed all these people first and don’t know if there will be any food left for you”. If you don’t have enough food to serve at your own restaurant at least say it in a nice manner. I don’t know why you’d be upset about a customer coming in to your place. She didn’t even ask if we would be having food or just drinks, not did she tell us what she had left to serve. This was our first time here and we clearly won’t be returning due to the rude attitude from this person.

Ingredients are fresh and of good quality. I had the Classic hamburger and thought it was very bland. It tasted mostly of ketchup. Others might like it, I did not. Side note: Please tell your customers in advance that you only have Fritz-kola, it's not everybody's favorite.

We had Brunch, two Americans and one French. uncooked rösti and bread from the day before…. Croissant not fresh... too bad because we went on advice from friends... for the price I would have appreciated a more cooked product!!!!

The food is good. But once again I had to wait 45 minutes for my burger at lunchtime. That is to long. The staff is okay, rather inattentive, but okay.

I want to express my disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at your restaurant during Sunday brunch. I had made a reservation with high hopes of enjoying a relaxing meal with my partner, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table at the back of the restaurant, exposed to direct sunlight and it was scorching hot outside. When we requested a more comfortable table with shade, the staff member in charge of reservations dismissively refused and walked away without offering alternatives. After seeking assistance from a more accommodating staff member, we were told that all other tables were reserved, despite the presence of numerous vacant tables with no people waiting to occupy them. This also contradicted our initial expectations, as we were not given the opportunity to choose our table during the reservation process. The lack of courtesy and respect shown by the first staff member was disappointing and marred our overall experience. We understand that brunch service can be busy, but we were left feeling unwelcome and disheartened by this encounter. As infrequent diners who prioritize memorable experiences, this incident left a lasting negative impression.

I asked over the phone about glute free and celiac disease, how they do it in the kitchen without contamination. It was confirmed to me that they will clean everything so there is no contamination, I would have to mention this when ordering. Well, we drove straight there full of anticipation. I placed the order with the express note "I cannot tolerate gluten, everything must be prepared without touching gluten, I just made a phone call and was assured the kitchen would be cleaned." Unfortunately, the operation didn't understand it correctly due to their understanding of the language. Burger was prepared very quickly, I asked again when paying (as take away) and it was confirmed to me again that everything had been cleaned. And voilà, burgers with gluten-free buns that are baked separately in the oven but the rest of the burger is contaminated. The restaurant is NOT recommended for people with celiac disease! It was very hot and stuffy in the restaurant. I haven't found the service good for a few months. Burgers taste delicious if you don't have celiac disease!

Great place for brunch! Unfortunately no lactose-free or vegan yoghurts. Many menus cannot be changed, such as no banana in the bowl. Otherwise great place recommended

Ambience and service top! Burgers are also great! 😁 The quesadilla and the chimichurri steak bread are definitely not recommended. Especially for people who like Mexican or Argentinian food. It borders on an insult to the original dishes!

Since the boss (Dutch) is no longer there, things have gone downhill. The service is polite but not cordial. The new boss seems cold and not really interested in customers. Wet chairs outside will only be dried upon request and with grumbling. Burger okay but not as good as it used to be. The biggest shame was the cheesecake. This has easily shrunk by 25% from its original size at the same price. We won't be visiting the restaurant again, it's a shame.

At lunchtime (12.30, we had reserved) we had to wait over 45 minutes for two salads (simple dishes). The food was good but unfortunately it's a no-go at lunchtime with the long waiting times. Wasn't the first time

La Manufacture was a really nice choice to have lunch during my recent visit to Basel! We ate at the inside terrace and it has a really cozy and beautiful atmosphere. It was hard to know what to order because everything sounded amazing in the menu. I ended up choosing one of the new burguers, a chicken one, and it was a great choice. Really nice mix of ingredients! The personel was helpful and nice, and adapted well to us, who don't speak swiss german. I would definitely recommend it!

The biggest disappointment in Basel so far - I ordered Pink Pancakes from beetroot with maple syrup, beacon and “fruits” - and I received 4 classic pancakes with one burned piece of beacon, 5 blueberries and without maple syrup. The waitress asked for this misunderstanding brought missing item after some time and explained that she made a mistake in the order but anyway, I had to wait this sad meal…

Great location and great food. Fast, courteous service and a nice atmosphere. Known for excellent burgers - gladly again. No problem even with a larger group (with reservation of course).

Popular restaurant and cafe. Good prices and great quality food. Beware of up selling some starters as portions can already be quite large. Need to book for lunchtimes. Well worth a visit and brisk 5 minutes walk from SBB train station. Good gluten free and vegetarian options. Update: we returned for a birthday dinner and again, pressured into purchasing a dessert as they indicated they also had a birthday item for our guest. So we ordered as thought they had gone to some trouble. Nothing appeared beyond our ordered item! Usual tricks from above. Won’t return.

Fast, smooth and fun service. No problem adapting to the customer's language. Food was very tasty. They all recommend cheesecake and I also gave in. Thank goodness, because it was delicious! Staff was super friendly and quick. A very pleasant experience :-)

Food was good. But portions are very small and prices are very high. There are plenty of other burger shops in Basel with a significantly better price-performance ratio.

Delicious burger. Hot fury spiciness is mildly pleasant. If you can eat jalapeños, then you can eat the burger...

Take away order. Burger ok but experience not great. While I'm eating I realize my drink has been forgotten so I come back. It is given to me. After eating I realized that my dessert tartelette had been forgotten. Back again. It is given to me. Without a word, without an apology, without nothing. When it comes to things like that, you can at least offer a drink as an excuse. If there had been a lot of guests waiting but it was more than half empty... well...

Delicious burgers with good ideas, not run-of-the-mill. But you also pay for that. The burgers always come without fries, which further increases the bill. There are some outdoor spaces in summer, but reservations (which can easily be made online) are recommended all year round.

Local with a modern atmosphere. Small menu with a focus on burgers that can still be pimped up. Texture for me, despite the crispy bun, rather soggy. Presentation could be better. Service is friendly.

I liked the ambiance and service at this place. But unfortunately the food tasted very pale. Not saying it tasted awful. But Burgers, fries and sauces were not salted at all, 2 of us ordered spicy burgers and it wasn't spicy at all :( Edited:And by blaming my taste instead of accepting your mistake you definitely will keep customers happy, way to go. Also, It was shared opinion, so seems like all 4 of us have “wrong” taste🙂

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good burgers. Had the “La Vegan” and was completely satisfied. It's a bit expensive but the quality is good. It's best to make a reservation and come early, as the place gets a bit noisy when it gets full.

Nice place with friendly staff the owner as well very friendly fuuny man , I just have one thing to say when I ask them for the WiFi they said we don't give it know because they are afraid it won't work good in Switzerland a lot of people coming and not activating the roaming because it cos a lot of money so a WiFi in a restaurant in mu opinion it is fundamental. Any way I hope they will get solutions for this otherwise I had good experience..thank you for your labour

We went for a brunch after the positive comments. The food was ok, but nothing special, and for us, was not enough. The service was ok too and the location is beautiful.

Super fine burgers, cocktails and dessert! Very friendly, courteous and humorous staff. Were warmly welcomed and warmly farewelled. The ambience is also very inviting and original. Currently my favorite restaurant in Basel! So of course I highly recommend it! Many thanks to the entire La Manufacture team, you are great!

Trendy environment and delish food! Service was quick as well despite the almost full place. They do really good burgers, I highly recommend the bbq one. That was probably the best I've had so far since the bbq part wasn't too sweet which is how I prefer ^^ Oh, and they make tasty cocktails! 🍹 It's also a good stop for nibbles & drinks.

The food at La Manufacture is always good. However, I was there on Valentine's Day and my girlfriend and I paid separately. When she paid she told the waiter he could round it up to 50 for her. When I was about to pay, I didn't want to leave a tip and expected that if he didn't say anything, I would be charged the normal amount. But afterwards, when I looked at my e-banking, I saw that he had also charged me 50.- even though he and I didn't say anything about tips. I thought that was pretty cheeky.

We lived nearby for a year and were here many times. Great burgers, desserts, and staff. And great Sunday brunch, too. Thank you Ben, Gabriel, and others.
